No MP3 slideshow audio in PSE 8.0

When I was creating my first slideshow I installed some MP3 files but when it came to previewing them, there was no audio.
After spending some time searching this forum, I tried converting a MP3 file to WMA and that worked.
But since my music collection is all MP3's, I am not going to convert any of them again. I had to this time because my project had to be done
the next day. I unistalled/reinstalled Elements but that didn't work. My default player is Windows Media Player 11 and using Windows 7
Any idea what is causing this?
Greg

Adobe is making it difficult for people who have Photoshop Elements 8 and Premiere Elements 7.
If you also have Photoshop Elements 7, I suggest that in the future you consider making your slideshows in Photoshop Elements 7 because it of course does support transfer to Premiere Elements 7. Or you can make the entire slideshow in Premiere Elements 7.
The only option that I can identify for making a file of your PSE 8 slideshow is to do a WMV file from the PSE 8 slideshow output command.
This approach has the disadvantage of doing a compression in PSE to make the WMV file and then doing another compression in Premiere Elements 7 for whatever format you will use to upload to your website.

  • .mp3 compressed audio stream dose not play in AIR

    Hi All,
We are trying to load stream audio file with mp3 compression in the AIR app using the follwoing code using FLash CS4 -
    var snd:Sound = new Sound();
    snd.load(new URLRequest(""http://67.159.30.133""));
    snd.play();
This works fine when we publish for flashPlayer 9/10. When we try to publish it using AIR the sound dose not play.
We have tested with another approach, where we are loading sound with .flv compression. Here we are using NetConnection and NetStream method to play the sound. With .flv compression it works well in both flash player version as well AIR versions. On the other side when we try to use NetConnection and NetStream method to play .mp3 compressed audio stream it dose not pl when we publish in AIR or flashplayer.
If anyone having any info to play .mp3 compressed format in AIR file will be very much appreciable.

  • Itunes 5.1 won't burn mp3 to audio cd

Since upgrading to 5.1 I can't burn audio cd's from mp3 files anymore. Not just in itunes, but in RecordNow as well. All my music in itunes are mp3's and it was never a problem before to burn them into an audio file. In RecordNow I can still make data cd's and burn directly from cd to cd, but it also doesn't let me burn from mp3 to audio anymore. It seems that itunes 5.1 placed something in the registry that blocks converting mp3 to .wav. Does anyone know anything about this? The 5.1 upgrade has made my computer useless and Apple isn't saying anything about this at all.

This makes me believe that the latest upgrade created a serious conflict in my registry and I'm wondering if apple is doing anything to fix it.
have you submitted any CD diagnostics to Apple yet, Michael?
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/windows/cddiagnostics/
have you been able to find any troubleshooting information on the topic at the RecordNow-related websites? (googles on combinations of "RecordNow", "itunes" and "error" might pick up some independent troubleshooting, too.)
if you find any useful references, would you mind reporting back with links for us? if it really is a conflict between your version of RecordNow and itunes 5.0.x, other people will presumably be in your situation, and any information you turn up could be helpful for them too.

  • IDVD slideshow audio hiccups

On each setting for slideshow audio; the final DVD has interruptions during every slide transition even when no transition is selected. How do I correct this problem?

How do I correct this problem?
Make your slideshow as a movie in iPhoto or Imovie.
Images in iDVD created slideshows are considered to be 'Chapters' and many/most set top DVD player drop the audio on chapter changes.

  • PSE 3 - Slideshow audio problem

    Hi,
Hope someone could help with an issue I am encountering when trying to create a slideshow I'm trying to get together for the good lady wifes pending 40th.
I'm running PSE 3 on Windows XP and a Siemens Amilo Laptop.
Problem I'm having is that the audio isn't playing when I'm previewing the slide show??
It had been working fine but now seems not to come on at all, however strangely if I play the audio in the 'edit audio' dialoge box it comes on fine???
Growing increasingly frustrated at it and ready for throwing the thing off the wall!!
I'm a bit of a newbie at this so hope someone can help??
    Cheers
    Gerry

    Dear SD Mac User,
Here is the update to the audio slideshow problem. I tried many
different things, such as changing the settings, and using a
different hard drive with iDVD installed on it. Norhing
worked, and i did want to keep the
    107 or so jpegs.
But, just for the heck of it, I did YOUR suggestion, and wittled it
down to 99 jpegs, and burned it. Guess what, it actually worked!
No silent Nixon audio mysteriously erased!
Thanks for your help as I finally got this project out! A Happy ending!
Have you ever had this 99 jegs experience before, or was it guess?
    Either way, thanks again,
I guess the program freaks if more than 99 jpegs are used!

  • PSE 6 slideshow audio distortion when .avi is added

I'm trying to make a slide show with mostly jpegs but with two .avi videos (20 seconds each) added in. The audio works fine, until during the .avi videos; then, it sounds like a fuzzy radio station. Once the .avi is over, the audio rights itself. The videos were taken with an older digital camera (a FujiFilm FinePix, I think--it doesn't include audio).
What can I do? Please help!
    Thanks!

    Gina,
Generally I don't add video to a slide show using the Photoshop Elements slide show. Instead I have used some type of a video program to add video to a slide show.
However, if you give us some additional information, we may be albe to identify some alternatives:
1- What are your plans for this slideshow? How do you intend to play it back when you are finished?
2- Are you running Vista or XP?
3- Do these video files play back OK in Windows Media Player?
4- Can you identify the specific model of Fuji FinePix camera?
This might help us to find more info about that video file and its exact contents.

  • Slideshow -- audio problems

I've created a slideshow on PSE 6.0 and have added audio to the slideshow. The slideshow consists of photos and video clips. When moving from a photo to a video clip, the volume decreases for about 7 seconds, then returns to normal. Similarly, when transitioning from a video clip to a photo, the volume again decreases, resuming normal volume 7 seconds later. Is there anyway to equalize the volume? Thanks in advance.

Hi! I'm having the SAME EXACT issue on 5.0 version. I have another post that I just did today, so hopefully we'll get a response. How frustrating!!

  • Slideshow audio volume adjustment

Help! I can't seem to adjust the audio volume of the audio file on a slideshow project. The audio volume on playback is always the same whether I slide the volume adjustment to the maximum or down to zero. On playback the audio volume is always the same. I need to lower this volume because it drowns out the narration part of the slideshow. How do you do this??
    Thank You!

I have come across this problem but I’m not sure I have a solution, perhaps only a work-around.
I have managed to save a slideshow from PSE as a WMV file on my hard drive.
Opening the WMV file with Windows Movie Maker (sorry if you are on a MAC) does allow the volume of the background track to be adjusted whilst also having a primary (Commentary) audio track.

  • Problems Creating Slideshow DVD using PSE 8.0

I have created a slideshow DVD in the past without problems. I have recently created a new slideshow of photos along with audio. It previews just fine in both PSE and Windows Movie Maker, but after I burned the DVD, only one song plays back when the DVD is in the TV.
    Any suggestions?

Unless you have the combine programs Photoshop Elements & Premier Elements; there are limitations.
If you have other software; it’s possible to combine multiple tracks or play lists ant then attach them as a single file in the slideshow editor.

  • Slideshow Audio--Can't Use I-Tunes Music Files

I am trying to add audio to a slideshow. When I click on "add media" it points me toward a music folder that includes i-tunes. When I open the i-tunes folder, I see separate folders for all of the artists whose music I have in i-tunes. When I click on an artist's name, elements tells me there are no files. Elements appears to be searching for MP3s .wav and some other kind of file as opposed to whatever format i-tunes stores files. There does not appear to be a way to add to or amend the formats that elements is searching for. (And even if there was, I don't know the format of all of my i-tunes music.) Any advice?

Thank you, Barb. I will attempt to implement those suggestions. However, it's a mystery to me why these work-arounds should be necessary. The link suggests that it's i-tunes' copy protection that prevents me from using i-tunes songs for my slideshow. But I doubt that. The photo editing program I used to use, Nikon's Picture Project, let me use i-tunes songs on slideshows with no difficulty. I simply click a button and it takes me to all of my i-tunes music. I would think elements could work the same way. After all, it's just a matter of playing a song, whose rights I already own, on a computer where the song already resides. No question this is personal use.
But even if I planned to "export" my slideshow to a DVD (which I don't plan to do) i-tunes' copy protection shouldn't prevent that. If I wanted to, I could burn thousands of CDs of i-tunes songs with no interference from i-tunes' copy protection. Why shouldn't those songs be accomanied by photographs?

  • Can't add audio files (PSE 5)

PSE 5 won't allow students to add audio files(WAV or MP3) to slide shows. Error message is as follows. "...system does not have required compressor/decompressor (codec) installed."
I'm working in a lab situation. Only 2 of the 24 computers are having this issue. Help!

Try importing all those music files into organizer and see if it can play those files. If organizer is able to play these files, you can add these files to slide shows.
Else install some quick time codecs and try including these music files again.
    Regards.

  • Elements 9 Slideshow Audio File does not play completely

How do I get an Elements 9 Slideshow to play an entier audio file?  Facts: The slideshow duration is greater than the audio file duration.  The audio file is an MP3 that fades and terminates prior to the 4:26 duration.  No "Trimming" is applied to the audio file.

I'm not sure about this. The tool with which the mp3 has been created is the "Sound Tool" (Tools => Multimedia => Sound Tool) You can also choose for Flash Tool but that is not the one which has been used. There are other pdf readers especially designed for iPad which say that they have a sound tool built in (for the iPad) that should play mp3's. Nevertheless they don''t function as well (so I complained as well, not yet answered) they even don't show the link. The iPad Adobe Reader does show the link, but it does not start. I suppose that they have a built in player as well which is NOT flash. Why otherwise even have the possibility to choose between Flash and a sound tool in Adobe???
By the way talking to Steve is very difficult I think unless you have a direct connection to heaven?

  • CODEC for slideshow audio

When I try to download audio purchased as MP3 files from Amazon.com, I get an error message that my computer does not have the proper codec to download the file into my slideshows. I have tried asking Microsoft, but get no help there. I have Windows 7 and Photoshop Elements 10. What codec is necessary for this combination? Oh, and Amazon is no help either.

    Bill,
It looks like they are all 400x300.
I can increase or decrease that in Photoshop if need be.
    Thanks.

  • IDVD '08 Slideshow Audio Drop Out

    Hi
I've recently upgraded to IDVD '08 & produced a slideshow of 301 pictures with music. I get a moments audio drop out at each 100th picture. I know this to be a problem when the disc is played on a DVD player, but not on a computer. I had hoped that by upgrading to IDVD '08 the problem would have been eliminated. Can anyone advise if there is a way of solving this issue, other than producing separate slideshows of 99 picture & less.
Any help would be much appreciated.

The behavior you described above is actually normal for iDvd for anything over 99 images per slideshow. Not much you can do about it short of creating multiple slideshows as you mentioned above. That or making your slideshow as one long QT movie but you may notice a quality loss.
Or you can try a few other apps like:
    http://www.boinx.com/fotomagico/overview/
    http://www.lqgraphics.com/software/phototomovie.php
Roxio Toast has a slideshow option as well. You might want to look into this.
DVDSP might give you slightly better results but then again it's much more money and takes weeks/months to learn as opposed to a few hours / days.
