NO reconstruction tab in BI7

Dear Experts
Can you please tell me why reconstruction tab is not available in BI7,whereas it was there in BW 3.5.If the flow is PSA,DSO,and CUBE:Answer could because of IP supply data to PSA to Datatargets(it include dso and cube),PSA is the only source, whereas in BI7 because of dtp PSA to DSO is one part and DSO to CUBE is second part so reconstruction not possible. My question in BW3.5 If i have one more cube means (i.e.,psa,dso,cube1 and cube2) how data flows from cube1 to cube2.
Thanks
Rajesh

Dear Experts
Thanks for the reply.Cube reconstruction data getting pulled from PSA.In that case,in the flow PSA,DSO(additive rule in transformation from PSA),CUBE:If data pulled from PSA means it will come via DSO only,so data will get doubled in DSO,and cube will be corrected.AM I MAKING SENSE?DSO Reconstruction means we are pulling from PSA no issues, for cube how it works? Please explain.
Thanks
Rajesh

  • Unable to see the request in Reconstruction Tab of Info Cube

    Hi Experts,
    We are scm 5.1 version.
Actually I have created extraction process to extract data from Demand Planning area. I have extracted data from planning area also. I can see the request in to PSA as well as Info Cube but I am not able to see the request in reconstruction tab.
Is there any setting to see the request in to Reconstruction tab of the info cube?
    Please advise..
    Regards
    Sujay

    Hi rathy,
Is there any way to support the equivalent of reconstructions with the new BW 7.0 design?
    I will explian in detail..
Reconstruction is critical functionality for our current DP solutions, it allows us to "reconstruct" old requests from the backup InfoCube (based on what's been kept in the PSA) and use this to restore data in the planning area to a day in the past.  It is used whenever there is a technical or user error than needs to be un-done.  I believe there is a way to accomplish with the BW 7.0 design.
    Please suggest...
    Thanks in advance..

  • Requests not on Reconstruction Tab

I just deleted a lot of requests out of a cube.  When I go to Reconstruct/Insert, some (not all) of them are missing from the list.  What would cause a request, once deleted from the cube, to not show up on the Reconstruction Tab?

    hi Castles
U can see the requests in construction tab
    1) select the selection button at the bottom of the reconstructiuon tab (the symbol of that push button will be selections button. it will be in thee colors)
    2) then a pop will invoke give the required info and then specify the date from which data u wan to see the requests ..
now say ok .. then u can see the requests there at the reconstruction tab

  • Regarding Reconstuct in BI7

I have an issue that ,wn the data is invalid we can delete the requests from the data target and we can reconstruct the same from PSA. Where as I am working in BI7 if the requests fails that will not be available in Reconstruct TAB in the Manage of the screen of CUBE. Even  I  didnu2019t understand the usage of reconstruct in BI7?
    Thanks in advance

    Dear SRK,
This function is only necessary for InfoCubes that obtained their data from InfoPackages. Only the InfoPackage requests are displayed. For InfoCubes that were loaded with a data transfer process, also supply other objects with this data using data transfer processes
You can select an InfoCube, an InfoSource, a time frame or a source system, where all the requests that have already been loaded for your selection are displayed. You can choose individual requests, and use them to reconstruct the InfoCube.
You can start loading or scheduling the InfoCube immediately in the background, or set it so that it is triggered by an event.
If the requests contained in the InfoCube were already rolled up in aggregates or in BI accelerator indexes, you can no longer use these requests for reconstructing. Only the last (uppermost) requests can be used for reconstruction.

  • Reconstruction of request in BI 7.0

    hi All,
In 3.5 , i can go to "Reconstruct" tab in the cube and able to select the request which need to be reconstructed. But in 7.0, is there any way to reconstruct the request like what we used to do in 3.5. Can you please let me know how we should do this in 7.0 ?
    Thanks in advance..

    Hi,
The reconstruct tab only works for InfoCubes loaded with 3.x data
    flow objects (update rules).
In addition to this, this function only works if the data is stored in the PSA,
But since you know in BI 7.0 there is no PSA when u load data from DSO to Cube.

  • Reconstruction in BI 7.0

    Hi
What is the use of Reconstruction tab in BI 7.0, I understand that - if we delete the request from a cube by some reason we can recostruct the data from the PSA using reconstruction.
Another clarification I need is, if there is a DSO before the cube and we do reconstruction, will the data get pulled from the PSA / DSO? if it is not from DSO - will the data get loaded to DSO again in the process?

    What help you require?
Its standard functionality, SAP help document says "This function is only necessary for InfoCubes that obtained their data from 3.x InfoPackages.".
Now why is it there in 7.0?
Because 7.0 systems can have 3.X dataflow. Its more like backward compatibility, as manage screen is common to 3.X flow and 7.X flow.

  • Problem with reconstruction....very urgentttttttt

I was reconstructing the request in ODS. After reconstructing the request with out changing the indicator from red to green I activated the request.
It got activated....but with red color in the indicator.
When I am trying to delete that request it is not allowing me to delete it.
Even in the reconstruction tab also I am seeing that request in Red color.
Is there any way rt to delete the request and reconstruct it once again...
    Its very urgent....

I just used RSDELPART1 program to delete the request...then I got short dump....
this is the short dump I got

  • In ODS reconstrct tab?

    Hi all
In ODS reconstruct tab we have some so many tabs,in that i want to know some of the tabs functionality's,can anyone will let me know regarding this tabs functionalities and when it will be generated and also let me know whether am correct or wrong for some ids functionalities
<b>Request ID</b>------> Id of the loaded request
<b>Change-log ID</b>---> Id which will be generated in the change log table
<b>Update ID</b>------> ? (what do we mean by this update ID,need clarificatoion)
    <b>Request Number</b>----?
<b>Request Number in the PSA change-log</b>---?
<b>Request Number for delta update from ODS</b>----?
    regards
    balji

    Hi Balaji,
The changelog has a different request id than the ODS load request id. This request id acts as the PSA for any dataload that happend further from the ODS and hence you see all these request ids.
To the question why there should be so many ids. The ODS request id would vary for each load. But lets say you loaded 2 requests in the ODS but activated them together then the change log request id would be the same. However if you had activated the requests separately then the change log woul have different request id.
    Hope this helps.
    Bye

  • Reconstruct from Change log

    Hi All,
I have a situation here where I have deleted a delta load request from ODS. Load is not through PSA.
I have reconstructed the request from Change log several times before but here in my case I am not able to find the change log request when I give my selections in "Multiple Selections" in Reconstruction tab.
The search parameters I have given are Infosource, Source system, Request Number, Req Id, and date. I have manipulated with these selections here but still not able to find the request in change log.
Could someone please help me here If Iam missing something?
    Iam on BW 3.5
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Venkat,
Iam not able to see my request in the reconstruction tab.
Just now I realized  that there were totally 4 requests that were activated with single CHange log ID and by mistake I deleted this delta as well while deleting the other requests.
Any chance of getting back this delta req from change log?

  • With out deleting request can we reconstruct

    Hi,
can any one tell me With out deleting request can we reconstruct the request.

    Hi,
loads that come through PSA move to reconstruction tab after deletion so that it can be edited in PSA and loaded again. This is mostly done for delta requests to make sure that we do not loose data in any case.
There would be no point in reconstructing the load which is already there in the target guess you cant do it rather.
    Thanks

  • Manual update and Reconstruction

    Hi to all,
How we can perform Manual update and Reconstruction, i need like navigational steps..
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Go to Reconstruction Tab:
A request would be found in Reconstruction tab if the PSA for that request exists. If you've loaded the data into a cube and later find that one of the requests is having wrong data & you want to correct it in the PSA. So you can delete the data and then reconstruct the request from the "reconstruction" tab.
    Also from the "reconstruction" tab
Cube compression can be done say you delete all the data in the cube and want to load selective requests you can do so.
    Step to reflect the change:
If there is a change in update or transfer rules and you want the old requests in the cube to refelect that change then you delete the request and reconstruct them.
    Reward points if found useful,
    Regards,
    Mani.
