NO SEARCH OPTION IN MUSIC PLAYER E6

the developers have totally neglected to improve music player...u cannot search for songs or artists in the music player.. And marking and sending songs is so difficult in music player due to the lack of search option

no offense, dude, but that was a stupid comment. obviously you are the one who has no clue and doesn't know how to use the phone. everybody knows there's search widget that can do that, but it's just plain ridiculous. it is as if you're suggesting that whevenever we want to text a sms, we need to open "message" app, then go to main menu and open another "keyboard" app so that we could finally type something.
the feature of being able to find the song by typing the alphabet was there since N73. and it's so so so convenient. it was fast and efficient. another feature is the abilily to edit the songs details. it' makes selecting song and creating playlist like a breeze. i love nokia musica player because of this. these useful and practical features is something that other phone manufacturers still fail to offer. that's why nokia stood out. now in N8, all these were taken away. it's a major loss.
stop acting like a smart **bleep**, and make a fool out of yourself.
to Nokia, please solve this issue. if this is the price that i have to pay to have the cover flow feature, i'd rather not have it. the cover flow is uselss to me, beside being eye candy

Does someone of you know of a player (preferd gtk/gnome like) that just offers me a simple playlist view like in the screenshot where, if i begin to type on keyboard, a little window pops up with the search results from the things typed?

You press F4 (shortcut) and are presented with your in options selected music directory, shown in a tree view. So you can easily add whole artists or album or all (whole music dir).
Then youre left with your playlist window again and can just hear music, enqueue some files (they are gettin numbered in order you enqueue them) or begin to type "sun" and get a little popup with results of "sun" and can press enter to play the file or enqueue it (with a shortcut too).
Its just that simple, also it may sound complicated first
But i really hope you got the idea and understood me and my poor english

Every detail on these screenshots make me loved in this GUI. STP is even simpler and doesn't use DirectX for playing files, thus eating much, much less memory. But both players are for Windoze. Apollo (by Heikki) and 1by1 - too. I want the same for Linux but didn't find yet. All players that I know about are not "tray players", they have only some addons or applets. But adding some buttons to panel is not what I want, because anyway I use global keyboard shortcuts.
I like xfmedia but it still misses many features that I'm found of in @max Tray Player and STP.

More options on Music Player

Hi, I'm looking for a Music Player that has a Crossfade support (like Winamp) which can be configured (I mean, duration of crossfade effect, like you have in Winamp) it's because i hate silence between musics...i want non'stop music. Other feature is...Autonormalize music volume, it's because the first music could be recorder with high sound volume but the second could be recorded with low sound volume, and it doesn't sense the fact that i have to take out the phone from my pocket only to increase or decrease volume sound. Is there any music player like this for my Nokia 5700Xpress Music (s60v.3)? Will Nokia do it in future? Sory for my bad english....I'm portuguese!

Searh option in music player - E6 Belle

Is there an easy way to search for a song (except browsing the albums and songs) in the library in E6 with Belle? The player was very simple and efficient in E63, E72, but now it's very complicated.

N8 - There's no refresh option in Music Player

Hi
I have syn music through OVI suit. but in my N8, it doesn't show the music files. Neither I have any option to refresh library.
I have restarted but it doesn't pick the music files.
Through file manager, I can locate and play music file, 1 by 1. but this is not the way it should be.
Can some one tell me what should I do?

bish292 is right. My phone was connected to my laptop and Ovi and I could not refresh the library and it was driving me crazy. As soon as I disconnected and tried again the refresh Library option was there.
I'm afraid it's little things like this that erodes my faith in Nokia.
When you add songs to your device library, there is a pop up message on the computer that tells you to go to Options and Refresh Library...so that is what I did over and over again and the option was not there. If they give a tip on how to refresh the library, then give proper instructions, and tell people on the tip that you need to disconnect your phone from the laptop first!!

E5 music player library not updating automatically

I have an E5. Earlier when I downloaded new songs on my phone and opened the music player, it automatically searched for new tracks and updated itself. Now I dont know what has happened it doesnt get updated automatically and I have to update it manually. Can I get a fix for it? Please help.

It is normal for the music player not to always update automatically, whenever adding music, open player and select options>refresh Music Player !

Nokia 5800xm music player problem

i m using nokia 5800 xm or 1&1/2 yr. my phone was working amzing but when i found a display problem in my phone i took it to nokia care centre ghatkopar mumbai. they changed my phone display as well as firmware from 31 to 50.from that day my phone is not working properly...it is not as bright as before by increasing brightness to full length.music player has option to find on net but not an internal memory find option, search option works to find internal memory but it is out of music player .
SO I REQUEST TO NOKIA ATLEAST LAUNCH AN UPDATE FOR MUSIC PLAYER WHICH HAS FIND OPTION LIKE MUSIC PLAYER 31.0.0.5 VERSION...I'VE UPDATED 51.0.0.6 BUT IT DOESN'T HAVE THAT OPTION...

1st take out battery for 10 min and try again
If it still happens after installing firmware do these (these may delete data so back up your phone)
1. Back up data and resintall firmware. Take out memory card and use disk check to clean out possible errors.
2. If it does not work, format memory card
2. If reinstall does not work, type in *#7370#
3. If it still does not work, turn off phone, remove memory card and battery for 10 min, then reinsert. While booting up hold the green, red and camera keys until you see the country selection or language screen.

C5 music player setting missing

c5-03 phone has not 'setting' option in music player,its very common option & present in almost every phone,bt it missing in c5-03 ,if have any solution pls help...

Yes Playlists could be saved on C5, When you open music player>playlist>you'll get there "Recently Played" Recently Added" "most played" these are preset playlists. And you can create custom playlists here. and that playlist will be saved unless you want to delete it yourself.

N8 "Music player" lacking options

Dear Nokia Developers,
Music Player:
1st. No Custom Equalizer is available. It will enhance user experience if added.
2nd. Each sound file must have an option to add to personal playlists at any point.
3rd. While adding songs to personal playlist only "All songs" or add by "Artist" is available only. it will be better and logical if recently added playlist is available to add songs from.
4th. If a song is playing and transmitted over FM during the play if Headset is inserted into audio jack, headset controls are not enabled, though the sound is ok.
Kindly add/remove the above bugs/options in your next firware upgrade.

For point 2, just tap 'back' and you return to the music listing withoout interrupting the music, and you can hold down the track concerned and then select 'add to playlist'.
I imagine that point 4 is an eventuality not considered in the design, because if you are transmitting over FM you have better control of the sound from the radio in use. In any case, I have tested this and found that the FM transmissions stops as soon as the headset is plugged in and the controls did work.

Music Player continuously searching for songs and ...

I have a N97 running firmware v.21.0.045 and about a week or so ago I was forced to do the hard reset because the phone became so unstable. I left my E: drive (the mass storage) intact including all of my songs, videos and pictures I had stored.
Everything seems to be okay apart from the Music Player which everytime I use it it starts to search for songs and podcasts continuously. I can stop that and it lists all of my music and can play them but the volume control does not work, either from the telephone or the earpiece supplied.
I have tried leaving it searching for hours but nothing changes - it just keeps on searching. Any suggestions as to how I can fix this please or does it mean I have to do another reset of the telephone? It all worked before.
I have tried taking the battery out but this makes no difference.

now one of these below is for the music and one for the photos and i didnt have a problem with the photos but did it anyways and now the player can see my music:
these are the files that need deleting in order to get rid of the corrupted library.

TIP: Connect the device in USB mass storage mode (File Transfer), to locate the private folder from the PC.

N95 Music Player Search/Scroll Functions - more us...

I don't know if this is a bug, or an incomplete function? If it doesn't exist, I would surely love to see it in the next firmware upgrade (hint: Nokia people, take note!).
When I was viewing "all songs" in my music player, I wanted to search songs in alphabetical order. The search box popped up, but it wasn't working. One possible reason that I thought of was that it is case-sensitive (since all my songs start with a capital, ie. "Damien Rice - Blower's Daughter"). The search function was only in small letters; holding the # key didn't switch it to caps.
Upon experimenting by renaming a song in small letters and also in numbers, i discovered that the search function still didn't work. Is this a bug?
On a side note, I realized that the scroll function in the music player can only scroll downwards from the first item, as opposed to scrolling "up" to the last song. It is a real hassle to scroll to the last song in the list if you have like a hundred songs! Can this be rectified as well?
All these small things make a difference to users like me... as it's really all about user-friendliness.

All you need to do is create a playlist and call it what you like, if the music is on your phone music player will find it and you can select individual tracks or albums and add to playlst or create new ! Also you can use Ovi suite to sync/ transfe music to your phoner or create playlists. Personally I just drag and drop music onto my phone that I like and use PlaylistDJ from Ovi store.

Music player crash on search

Hi, when I have the music player in the shared modus it crashes when I use the search funtion, but only when you search for tracks, not when you search for artists.
Rebooting the Ipad didn't help. This started after installing ios6

Same problem here, but happens with any search: title, album, artist.

6110 navigator music player track search problems

I recently "downgraded" from a N73 ME to a 6110 Navigator, due to the GPS. Eventhough 6110 is newer, for me it is a downgrade (except for the GPS), because of the inferior camera, smaller screen, music player, horrible battery life etc...
Anyways, this post is about the music player. I'm used to search tracks by name in N73, but I can't do that with 6110. Only Artist, Album and Genre can be searched (but even that is a very simple sequential search from the beginning of the name, N73 filters text from any part of the name). Are there any workarounds for track searching (like in N73)?
Only thing I can think of right now is to change either the Album or Genre field to have the track name (which is not a good way to resolve it)
I find the built-in player to have better sound quality than few of the 3rd party players I tried, therefore I'm interested in getting the track search feature in the built-in player.

The soluction for me
1- Delete the Music Library files stored at memory card using X-plore or another file manager (the file path in my phone was E:\Private\100012a5\DBS_101FE031_mcv4.mpd);
Note: \Private folder can only be seen when the PC SUITE is not being used. I found it using cable and using transfer data setting on phone.
2- Remove the memory card;
3- Open the Music Player and refresh the Music Library;
4- Delete the Library file at the phone's memory (C:\Private\100012a5\DBS_101FE031_mcv4.mpd);
5- Put the memory card back and transfer the music files using the PC SUITE;
6- Go to the Galery, select TRACKS and the files shall be found;
7- Open the Music Player and refresh the Library;

Belle fp2 No search in Music Player?

Unless I'm missing something... There is no way to search/narrow the music list like in the contact list?

I don't think that was ever possible. I remember being able to search for music/artists/etc on my old E62, but I've never been able to do it on my N8..
