'No signal' error on LG 22ls4d.

I've looked through the forum, and most people having problems seem to revolve around the resolution, but mine won't display at all.
My setup is:
Macbook -> Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter -> DVI to VGA cable -> LG 22ls4d
The Macbook picks up the display in the options, and comes up with the model number and I can change all the settings, but the monitor only displays a 'no signal' message. I know the screen and cable work properly as I can run my PC on it with no problems, and the Mini DisplayPort adapter is brand new, as is the Macbook.
Things I've tried:
Turning everything on and off, with the adapter both connected and not connected.
Changing resolutions, mirror displays, etc.
Sacrificing a lamb to the LG Gods.
Any help much appreciated.

Macbook -> Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter -> DVI to VGA cable -> LG 22ls4d
That's not going to work. The Mini DisplayPort-to-DVI adapter only outputs a digital DVI signal, _not_ VGA. Thus, you can't use a simple DVI-to-VGA cable to connect to your monitor. What you need is the equivalent of Apple's Mini DisplayPort-to-VGA adapter combined with a VGA cable.
Note, while some video cards support both digital and analog output over a DVI-I connector, the output from Apple's Mini DisplayPort-to-DVI is strictly digital (i.e. it's a DVI-D connection).
Here is a link that will explain the differences:

  • Signaling error

    Hi,
    In my weblogic logs I often get this error
    [Signaling Error: error already pending]
    [Signaling Error: error already pending]
    [Signaling Error: error already pending]
    [Signaling Error: error already pending]
    Though the site is functioning properly, I am curious to what this means and how
    to get rid of it?
    I am on Solaris 2.7, jdk 1.2.2_07, WLS 5.1, SP8.
    Shiva.

    David,
    It would be very helpful if you could state more about what your application
    is doing-- the more information the better.
    Thanks,

  • Unexpected Signal Error

    I have a Struts application in a development environment that makes the jvm throw the "Unexpected Signal Error" and crash the JVM at will. The production version works fine. the application itself hasn't changed. All the other Struts apps work just fine. Does anyone know what the information in the log is referring to. thanks in advance:

    David,
    It would be very helpful if you could state more about what your application
    is doing-- the more information the better.
    Thanks,

  • Signal errors - cocoa app

    Hi Everyone,
    I was wondering if anyone could point me in the way of any kind of documentation regarding signal errors in xcode. I build my application and sometimes it runs fine while other times I get errors such as signal 5,10, and 11. I don't change any of the code and I just run the application a few times and it just crashes frequently.
    I can't really post the code cause i have a whole bunch of classes and stuff but maybe someone could try pointing me in the right direction. I don't know if this helps or not but i've noticed, when running in debug mode, that in at least one of my classes the awakefromnib function is called more than once.
    I would really appreciate any help.
    Thanks
    Netta

    hey guys,
    thanks for all the responses.
    I have narrowed down the problem to these functions:
    (note field is an IBOutlet NSBox subview initializedd in the NIB file)
    - (void)awakeFromNib
    [self initializeField];
    - (void)initializeField
    int i;
    int j;
    int upperRightBeginX = 8;
    int upperRightBeginY = 280;
    int addToX = 0;
    int addToY = 0;
    for (i = 0; i < width; i++)
    for (j = 0; j < height; j++)
    NSRect frame;
    frame.origin = NSMakePoint(upperRightBeginX + addToX, upperRightBeginY - addToY);
    frame.size = NSMakeSize(30, 30);
    NDButtonOverrider *aButton = [[NDButtonOverrider alloc] initWithFrame:frame];
    [field addSubview:aButton positioned:NSWindowAbove relativeTo:nil];
    [aButton setImagePosition:NSImageOnly];
    [aButton setImage:[NSImage imageNamed:@"gymFloor2"]];
    [aButton setIndexInArray:[cells count]];
    [aButton setTheMatrix:self];
    [cells addObject:aButton];
    [aButton release];
    addToY += 30;
    addToY = 0;
    addToX += 30;
    srand (time(NULL));
    [self setCells];
    - (void) setCells
    int totalNumberOfCells = height * width;
    int i = 0;
    while (i < numberOfM)
    int cell = rand() % totalNumberOfCells;
    NDButtonOverrider *button = (NDButtonOverrider *)[cells objectAtIndex:cell];
    if (![button isM]) {
    [button setIsM:YES];
    i++;
    [button release];
    for reference purposes:
    this function is in NDButtonOverrider
    - (void)setTheMatrix:(NDMatrix *)matrix
    [matrix retain];
    theMatrix = matrix;
    I honestly don't know what's going on. I've been at this for hours now. If anyone has some idea of what's going on please let me know.
    Thanks for a all the help.

  • No Signal error on TV

    Getting a No Signal error one of my TVs, the other seems to be functioning properly.
    Here are a few things I've tried that didn't work:
    -STB has been reset
    -STB is powered on
    -TV is powered on
    -checked all cables, everything is plugged in to the correct location
    -checked input, cables match input channel
    -tried a different input jack (with it's respective input channel)
    -tried turning on the DVD/VCR player
    Any other suggetions?
    It was working fine yesterday and last night. It has been overcast all day, but no actual rain; so it's unlikely a weather related issue. I am a relativly tech savy person, but this is just throwing me for a loop.

    Hi @Alias1980
    Welcome to the HP Support Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
    I see that you are having a problem with your HDMI connection. Based on what you have described from the having to plug it in and unplug it on a regular basis and the drivers having no effect, it sounds like a hardware issue. You can try using a different HDMI cord to see if the cord is at fault. I would recommend having a local technician take a look at your HDMI port on the notebook.

  • "Signal" error messages

    Whenever I open either a new or old project, I receive the following two error messages:
    Signal
    Assertion failed:sSelf==ollsSelf==
    reinterpret_cast<MessageData*>(instuff)->Self
    and
    Signal
    Assertion failed:SAdapterSelf==o
    I have no idea what these error messages mean (nor does New Delhi, it seems). I do have problems with projects, but expect this is because I have a single HDD spinning at 5400 rpms (with and i7 chip). Of course, none of the promotional or marketing material on the software says the two or three HDDs spinning at 7200 are necessary to use the program without headaches.

    Paul,
    I am not familiar with that particular error message, but most "signal" messages are generated by the monitor itself, and indicate an issue with the, well signal. This could be because of a bad cable, a bad video card, some problem in the monitor, or some problem with the general I/O (Input Output) of the computer.
    I would look at the cable to the monitor first, at the video card next, then at the computer, and finally at the monitor itself.
    You might have luck tracking that error down on the monitor's mfgr's. Web site, or from their support department.
    If that then yields no good results, I'd address the video card next. What brand/model is it, and what is the driver version, number/date?
    Also, as another user mentioned similar issues with 16-bit displays, what Color Depth setting are you using?
    Good luck,
    Hunt

    Help me
    Thank YOu

    Hi,
    If this is a custom program then get the code reviewed. Might be some issues with nested loops. Just get it debugged and that might point you to something.
    regards.

  • UC500 Unknown signaling error.

    I have replaced everything other than the UC500. I keep getting these two messages over and over.
    *Jul 9 22:29:34.751: Unknown signaling debug message (ch=0):
    0001 0001 **
    *Jul 9 22:29:34.791: Unknown signaling debug message (ch=0):
    0001 0000 **
    They start right after I reload and say no.

    These errors are caused by the following bug -
    CSCsk44000
    Externally found severe defect: Resolved (R) UC520 error:Power alarm on DSP
    channel ch=x is ON causes fxs port fail
    This is resolved in 12.4(11)XW4 and higher.
    Load 14.4.11XW8 code as this is the latest release for the UC520

  • Check cable signal error on apple tv

    i paid a lot of money (so ******!) to have apple tv set up to our TV Entertainment System so we can use Apple TV on our big screen Samsumg TV.
    of course it worked when the tech guy installed it and then as soon as he left, it stopped working and when i select "apple TV" all i get is the error "check signal cable"  and nothing works.
    i've checked the cables -- disconnected and then connected them again, etc. and can't figure it out.
    HELP?

  • Handling service-callouts in bpm which doesnt use faults to signal errors

    I need to call a bunch of services from my bpm process. Normally i have boundary events on my service call activities, but now i have a whole bunch of services that i need to call that doesnt doesnt respond with faults for error situations. Instead, i should expect to get a predefined element in the normal response.
    I was hoping that it was possible to define this in the event boundary thing, but it looks like i am only able to trap faults.
    I was thinking that i might encapsulate each service call with a mediator, but i havent been able to define a mediator to go through the normal response and throw a fault to initial caller.
    I am not able to do this translation in the OSB since sending faults for minor errors is having an impact on infrastructure components in the overall architecture (non-200 responses are treated as severe errors).

    Thanks - my scenario I guess is #2 of that blog. But is your take that even if I don't care what is in the fault message, i.e. I don't care about the contents of it but rather I just want to continue on from it, that I still need to perform this java coding?  It's not clear to me from what he says - it seems to me he does the java coding to actually capture the contents of the message.  I am in fact using the soap axis adapter too, as he is. The screen shot showing the exception branch is basically what I have.

  • JMOQ Red signal error in Tax tab

    Hi
    We have an issue when raising a PO. Wherein for JMOQ for a particular tax code it shows 'Red' signal under conditions tab, but when the tax code is changed to some other then it shows green. Would appreciate your response on this
    Thanks and Regards

    hi
    if ur using the taxinn  process then check the jmoq entries for the cst tax ciode in FV12
    if they r not there maintain it in fv11
    if ur using taxinj then check ur tax code and look for the gl acct is comming in the tax code for the jmoq condition

  • DAQmx trigger AO from AI signal (error -200265)?

    Here's my problem:
    I have a PXI-6115 i/o card and I'm observing a waveform on ai0.  When the waveform reaches a threshold, I want to generate a waveform on ao0.  I tried looking at the example, "Cont Gen Voltage Wfm-Int Clk-Analog Start.vi," using ai0 as the trigger source but I get error 200265 (using an invalid trigger source).  I realized that the channel should be in the task if I want to use it as a trigger, but I can't add an AI channel to an AO task, so I'm kind of stuck.
    I've attached part of the code that I'm trying to use.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    If your timing between Analog In and Analog Out is not critical, you could just use software triggering.  Get your AO setup with Start Trigger set to None.  Don't run it yet.  Get your AI setup to read 1 sample.  In a loop, put the AI read function.  Each loop iteration should return one reading.  When the reading goes below the threshold, call the AO Write function to send an output.
    The trick is to not continuously call the AO write whenever the AI input is below the threshold, or it will be called on each loop iteration as long as the AI reading is below the threshold.  You can use a shift register to hold a boolean flag.  Drag down the shift register on the left side to create a previous state terminal.  Send the threshold compare output to the shift register.  On the left, you read both shift registers.  Trigger the AO when the top terminal is True and the bottom terminal is False (using AND and NOT).  This will trigger only once because on the next iteration, both will be True.  The threshold compare will have to go to False and then True again before the next trigger will occur.

  • Digital (square) signal error

    Hello
    I have a problem with MultiSIM 9.0.155.
    I have built a circuit shown on this picture http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/9764/digitaltoanalogcircutzw1.png.It is supposed to convert a digital (4bit) signal into analog signal (by it's value) so that when the digital signal is 0000 the analog value is 0V, and when it's for ex. digital sig is 1111 the analog value is of 2V... (this circuit uses a two 8-LED bars to indicate which "switch is on", and there isnt an analog signal output yet...)
    This circut should work fine, but: When I tried to simulate a 4bit value with a four function generators (with frequencyes set to 1Hz, 2Hz, 4Hz, and 8Hz) the result is something like this:
    http://img528.imageshack.us/img528/4268/digitaltoanalogcircutpoig1.png. In this picture the 4 keys are unpressed, and even then i still have a signal like that on the picture...??
    I replaced four function gens with 4 batteries as a source but still the  signal is the same??...-> an square alternating current with rising and falling edges...
    Here is a closer picture with the batteries as a sourcehttp://img300.imageshack.us/img300/9616/digitaltoanalogsourcera4.png.
    I don't know if something is not set properly (but it shouldn't get an square signal with the batteries as a source and the 4 keys unpressed), so if anyone sees what's the problem post an answer please..
    I have tried to restart MultiSIM but still with the same results...

    Hi there,
    I'm not sure how you created this schematic, but somehow, the 4 nets (a.k.a wires) that you are measuring have the same name! When Multisim starts simulating, it treats all wires by the same name as a single electrically connected wire. That is why you saw the same signal on all 4 channels of your oscilloscope. There is a way to fix this:
    Right click on one of the wires, lets say the one you labeled bit 0
    Click properties
    Change the net name to b0
    Click OK
    Multisim is going to tell you that you have other wires that have the same name but are not connected. Tell Multisim that you do not want to change the names of the other wires.
    Now repeat this for the remaining 3 bits, but name them b1, b2 and b3
    I bet there may be other wires in your design that have the same problem. Unfortunately, I think you will have to manually go through your design and find them all.
    If you ever find out what you did to make this happen, please let us know. We are always interested to know how to make Multisim easier to use so that mistakes like these don't happen.
    Hope that helps!
