No "size options" when emailing photos

I'm using an iPhone 4, which is about a year or so old. Normally when I email a photo to myself, it gives me the option to resize it as "small", "medium", "large", or "original". This has always worked fine for me, and it's never been a problem.
Today, I tried to email a photo to my gmail and it automatically attached the photo without giving me the resizing option. It just attached the "small" size photo without even giving me a choice?
Why has it suddenly taken that option away from me?
I haven't changed anything on my phone?
I haven't changed any settings or apps?
Any help would be most appreciated as this is frustrating and annoying on a whole new level!

Hey JDSUK,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Thanks for the question.
My apologies, when attaching a file in BlackBerry Hub it will send it at it's full size.  You can however ZIP a file which will make the file size smaller.  Check out this Blog post for more information: http://helpblog.blackberry.com/2013/06/blackberry-10-working-with-zip-files/
Let me know if you have any more questions.
Cheers.

  • Snow Leopard, iPhoto, Mail - loss of image size option when mailing photos

I just installed Snow Leopard on both my laptop and my desktop. Now I have lost one of the size options when I email images directly from iPhoto. This is a big problem for me, as I have the need to send photos out to colleagues for their review several times per week. Before the new OS, I could choose (from within iPhoto or from within Mail) from these options: small, medium, large, and full-size. "Large" was the choice that almost always worked best for me. Now an image is medium-sized no matter whether you choose medium or large. Small and full-size still work.
If I add images to a mail using the photo browser in Mail (which is less convenient for me anyway), then I lose the titles and descriptions I have added to those images in iPhoto. Not good.
Is there a setting I can change, or is this a bug, or what?
    Help.
    Marion

    Ernie,
It's not the the image size buttons are not available. They are. It's that they don't work correctly. From within iPhoto: choosing "small" gives me a small image; choosing "medium" gives me a medium image; choosing "large" also gives me a medium image; choosing "full" gives me a full-size image. So, there are four buttons, but only three sizes. I need large, and it's the one that's not working.
I am currently experimenting with your export-attach suggestion, and the results are very messy indeed as well as inconsistent. If I export an image as .jpeg and as full-size, and then attach them to a mail, the first problem is that I lose all the titles and descriptions, even though I have chosen to export them. In the past, all the images lined up neatly in the body of the message with titles underneath each one; now the images are all "stuck together" and you must mouse over to get the title info. Thus you can see this info for only one image at a time - inconvenient for my colleagues.
The second problem is that, the size option buttons work for some images and not for others. I tried attaching three files of different sizes: 2.7MB, 5.2MB, and 6.2MB. All four size buttons work for the two larger files, but, once again "medium" and "large" choices both result in the same size image, "medium."
Even if the export-attach option worked correctly, it would involve many more steps and much more time than my former method of sending direct from iPhoto.
I have not upgraded to iLife9. Perhaps the problem has been corrected in it. I was holding out for iLife10, but might go ahead with 9 if I could be assured it would work. This is really a huge problem for me.
    Thanks,
    Marion

  • File Size Options when emailing

My old blackberry used to give you the handy option of reducing the file size of photos when emailing (small, medium and orignal).  I can't find this option on the Q10 and its not set out in the user guide.  As such, all photos are being emailed at full resolution which is costly from a data perspecitve when off wifi.  Has anyone discovered the trick for reducing flie sizes when emailing or do we need to wait for an op systyem update?  Cheers.

  • IPhoto 5 has better quality that iPhoto 6 when emailing photos?

How can I set up iPhoto 6 to use the same image quality as iPhoto 5 when emailing photos?
I have two iMacs, side by side, one is G5 with iPhoto 5, and another is Intel with iPhoto 6. When I use iPhoto 5 to email a photo, medium quality 640x480, it looks beautiful. It looks like a perfect replica of a high-res photo, just smaller, but very clear. But when I do the same with iPhoto 6, again medium quality, the photo looks terrible, the image is very poor, it is jagged around people's faces with apparent artifacts of higher jpeg compression -- whereas none of these artifacts are present when emailing from iPhoto 5.
The problem with iPhoto6 seems to be that it uses a higher jpg compression thus lowering the photo quality.
To illustrate, here is the photo emailed from iPhoto5:
    http://www.cinemaclock.com/iPhoto5.jpg (100kB)
and here is the SAME photo emailed the same way from iPhoto 6:
    http://www.cinemaclock.com/iPhoto6.jpg (36kB)
Interesting is that when I click to email from iPhoto6 it estimates the photo size to 122kB, the same estimation as in iPhoto5, but then iPhoto6 compresses it down to 36kB.
Question: How can I set up iPhoto 6 to email the same photo quality as iPhoto 5?
    iMac G5 + iMac Intel   Mac OS X (10.4.10)   iPhoto 5 vs. 6

I have the SAME problem!! Apple, please help how to correct the poor image quality?

  • What file size is an emailed photo?

I emailed photos from Europe recently and had a HUGE bill (travelers beware, get int'l calling plan w/AT&T first). Does anyone know at what size photos are sent? I'm assuming it would be the size they show up at in iPhoto, about 400k, which would be the equivalent of "large" files sent from iPhoto via Mail.
    April

For some reason, the iPhone downsizes the photos to 640x480 when you send thru the iPhones email and they are only about 100k.
When you transfer them to a computer to save or email they are approx. 400-500k and full size, I think 1200x1600.

  • No Bcc: Option When Emailing from iphoto '11 - Lame

I want to send the same picture from iphoto '11 to a group from my address book, but I want to send from the bcc: field. I want to protect the privacy of the group. Why isn't there an option to send photos from iphoto '11 bcc:? Lame. Am I missing something? Seems like an easy solution to just a drop down menu providing the option to send To:, CC: or Bcc: Can anyone help?

iPhoto menu -> Provide iPhoto Feedback
If you don't like the new ways that iPhoto handles emailing then you can access the old way with a small change in how you work:
    1. Drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Mail icon in the Dock.
    or
    2. Use the Photo browser in Mail - or any Media browser in the entire OS
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
You can then resize the image in the iPhoto Window
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
Finally, you can make a simple OS Service to to automate the procedure. For more on this have a read of this:

  • Issue when emailing photos

For some reason, whenever I email photos, doesn't matter how many, when they are being received, they come in as pictures and not file attachments. I have tested it by sending myself a couple of photos and when I open the email it shows up as pictures, already opened. But I cannot see where the attachments are located. I have checked everywhere in the email and there are no attachment icons anywhere. The pictures need to come in as attachments so the recipient can download them. This was not an issue but for some reason it is now. Am I doing something wrong ?

Are you sending HTML email, or Rich Text messages (check Preferences > Composing to find out). If so, then Mail puts images inline in the body of the message. If you want them as attachments, the best way is to send Plain Text email (set in Preferences), or take all the images you want to send and make them into a single Zip archive and send that. It will be an attachment no matter if you send HTML or Plain Text email.

  • No info when emailing photos

I just upgraded to the latest iPhoto. My memory tells me whenI used to email from iPhoto it sent the title of the photo along with the image. Now I can find no way to send a photo with the title automatically attached. I must regularly send multiple photos with titles and descriptions and don't have the time to fill in each photo's info.
Exporting does not seem to work either if i then email the photos from a desktop folder.

With the preferences set to "Email Photos Using Mail"

  • No option for emailing photos

    Hi,
After installing iLife06, I am unable to email photos. In the iPhoto prefs, nothing shows up in the "General: Email photos using:" dropdown list.
I use Apple's Mail, and Mail prefs show "Mail" as my default email client.
I tried deleting the com.apple.iphoto.plist (a new one was created upon iphoto re-launch), but still nothing showed up in the dropdown list.
Opening com.apple.iphoto.plist in Property List Editor lists "MailApp -> String -> Mail.
    Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

select a photo, click on Email icon....won't launch Mail.app...
in addition, IF Mail.app is open already, still won't compose email
appears as if all hooks between iPhoto and Mail are gone

  • How to get server to reply when emailing photos from iPhoto

We recently changed over to a new web mail server. Once this happened, we have not been able to email photos through Apple Mail even though we changed the email addresses in the General Preferences. Can you give us any direction of how to complete the the set up? Right now, I get a message stating the internet connection is not working properly.
    Thanks for the help,
    Carol

    iPhoto Menu -> Preferences -> Accounts ->
Delete and recreate your email settings.
Alternatively, use Apple's Mail for the job. It has Templates too - and more of them.

  • When emailing photos from iphoto, they are sending in thumbnail sizes..

I used to be able to send photos through email just fine. Just recently all of my pictures are being sent in a thumbnail size format. I don't know how to get it to send reg. size pictures as it was before.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. After sending them to Mail with the Email button in iPhoto go to the bottom of the window and select the size you want to send with the menu there.

  • No "New Smart Album" option when filtering "Photos"

When filtering all photos in the library using the filter bar, there's no option to create new smart album from the results, only for "New Album with Current Images". The option to create a new smart album only seems to appear when you're filtering a project.
    Why?
You can create a smart album which filters the entire library, why doesn't Aperture allow the reverse: filter the entire library, and use the results to create a smart album?

That's a good question. No idea why the option to create a smart album is missing in that context but that doesn't mean you can't create a smart album that works on the entire library. In fact all the predefined smart albums under +Library Albums+ work on the entire library.
To create your own smart album that works on the entire library select +Smart Album+ from the New pulldown, just make sure nothing is selected when you do this and the Smart Album will work on all images in the library.
To check what part of the library the Smart Album is selecting from look at the Source: line of the filter HUD.
