No sound in new sequence

To fix a video resolution problem, I copied all my clips and audio from one sequence into a new sequence.  The old sequence plays back perfectly, with the new sequence has no sound. What have I done wrong?
Any help appreciated.

Thanks Jim. Appreciate the post.  A little background. When I started this project I could not get any sound out of Premiere at all. Talked to support for a long time and finally updated the audio drivers and this seemed to work. But not completely. The ONE project that I got working had sound, but not if I created a new project. So what I did is save as the working project into different folders then change the name and the clips. This worked, until now.
Back to Premiere support to see what I can do I think.

  • Insert menu item blank in sequence editor for new sequence

In TestStand 2.0.1, when I create a new sequence file using the sequence editor and right-click to insert a step, the Insert menu is greyed out.
If I open an existing sequence file, copy a step from it, and paste it into the empty sequence, then whatever that step was (let's say Action) becomes available on the Insert menu.
Is there any way to fix this other than re-installing TestStand? Any idea why this is happening?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
This sounds like you have a problem with your type Palette files in sowe way.
Check out if you can read the ini files found in teststand\cfg\TypePalettes.

  • Insert a clip into a new sequence, the clip will not play back

Macbookpro 8G ram twin 2.5 Intel, 1333 Mhz
I am an experienced editor coming over from AVID.  This is my second project attempt in Premiere. First was fine. I imported clips that live on my hard drive.  When I make a clip selection, mark the in and out and "insert into a new sequence, the sequence will not play back un less I render it first. I am talking about one (1) shot maybe 3 seconds long.  I have done no other edits in the sequence and have added no effects but there is an effect icon on the clip in the sequence,  This can't be right. It is not the way it worked for my first test project.  It would take 40 hours to edit a 60 second spot…  What has happened here?
Footage is 1080p 24fps.  Short with a digital DSLR and Files are the same (.mov)  as in the first project,

I have exactly the same problem. All of a sudden preview window is not working properly. In some projects it only plays audio with gray screen, in some it doesn't plays at all or plays audio from another projects. Sometimes preview gets frozen with the first frame in the project. I can however play video from Event Library, but without any sound. When I create new project and drag clips from Library, it plays with gray screen and again without sound. Restarting iMovie or Mac is no help. I'm using iMovie 8.0.6
Waiting for help desparatly, thank you

  • How to use new sequence when one is reached its maxvalue in PL SQL code

    Hi,
Currently, I am populating a unique product serial number in a table column using a sequence call to generate new number. For different products, I have different sequences and in my PL SQL code usiing IF..Else block I populate serial number for different products. For one most selling product sequence, we are reaching a Max value in production in a month and to make sure that application will continue to work fine for various end users without getting any error on their screens, I want my code to switch to new sequence automatically. I just need to add another if condition but my problem is how to find accurately when max value is reached for old sequence.
As call to old sequence can happen in different sessions there could be inconsistency and can end up at error. My new sequence value has to start with AV1000. Please suggest.
My old sequence look like this :
    SEQUENCE Prd
    INCREMENT BY 1
    START WITH AS1000
    MAXVALUE AS9999
    MINVALUE AS1000
    CYCLE NOCYCLE
    CACHE 2
    Order Yes;

Catch the exception and use your new sequence. But somehow, I'm not liking your alternative approach.

  • Changes to master nested sequence not updating in new sequence

Good morning - I have spent the past half hour or so searching the forum for this topic but have not found the answer. If the answer exists elsewhere, please point me in that direction; otherwise, here goes:
I created a nested sequence by simply dragging one sequence (A) from the browser into a new sequence (B) in the timeline. Later, I went back to Seq A and replaced all of the audio (which was in-camera audio) with clean audio from a Tascam field recorder. So far so good. However, Seq B still plays the original camera audio and is not reflecting any of the changes I made to Seq A.
I tried deleting audio render files, quitting and restarting FCP, etc., all to no avail. I have the latest versions of the OS and FCP. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

As you've probably found there are several ways to create/edit nests into sequences. The manual points out an advantage of using nested sequences is you can make a change and that change will be reflected in all the subsequent nests. As you've also found out, this isn't exactly true.
The only way I've found to have communications carry forward to nests from the original sequence is if I edit the sequence into another sequence via the Canvas overlay/edit keyboard shortcuts from the Viewer. I've found dragging and dropping to do as you've found.

  • Crashing on New Sequence

I installed the free trial and every time I try to create a new sequence the program crashes - help? I have an INTEL PC with plenty of storage - brand new.

You should be able to get the above from your system information on a PC, I've listed mine below ... but that list is, without acronyms:
    OS ... operating system, as in Win 7 Ultimate or whatever;
    CPU ... what main "chip" is your computer built around? I've got an Intel i7-4770 and on as seen below;
    RAM ... how much memory does your machine have, typically like 8Gb, 16Gb, or so;
    GPU ... your video card ... mine's the GTX770 from below;
vRAM ... how much video memory is on the video card ...
Driver version ... what does your system say is the driver in use for that video card?
The build number of PrPro I told you how to find within PrPro. You'll have to tell us what your media is from, whether it's say an mov file or mp4 or AVCHD ... whatever. Is it from a camera? If so, which?
There's an info palette in PrPro, click on any asset in the Project panel, choose the info palette, and it will tell you what type of codec, frame rate (23.976? 20.97? 60?) & frame size (1280x720, or 1920x1080 or whatever). Either that or in the Explorer right-click on a file and it should give you an option for details on that file.
Now ... you imported, then from the Project panel, got PrPro to make a new sequence, and when you try & do something with that sequence, then it crashes? A screen grab of your sequence settings would be awfully nice ... Windows has the "Snipping Tool" buried in the programs/Accesories folder off the start menu. Send that to your desktop as a shortcut, drag it down onto your task bar, then go into PrPro and select a panel ... click on the snipping tool on your task bar, then use the cursor to select the "box" of the screen (drag it diagonally to select an area) you want to get a picture of, save it to your desktop with a name ... then paste that into your message.

  • New sequence not conforming to clip settings

I'm using FCP 6.0.6. I've got some iPhone 3GS video clips (shot with the Super 8 app). When I create a new sequence, and then drag one of the iPhone clips to the sequence, the sequence does not conform to the low res iPhone settings. I've tried setting my FCP prefs to "always" and "ask" for auto conform. Neither is working--when set to ask, it doesn't ask, and when set to always, the sequence doesn't conform.
    Any thoughts? Thanks.

It would make no sense to enlarge your clips to 1280x720.
The problem is your original material is not in a standard video size.
You might try converting it to ProRes422 while leaving the material in the 480x320 size. Make sure you convert the audio to 48khz as well.
Once converted, create a new sequence and drop one of the newly converted files into it. The timeline sequence should be adjusted to allow for realtime playback.
    Good luck.

  • Working in FCP6, open a project, sequence not showing ANY fonts from motion master templates. Start new sequence and they appear fine. Whats up with it?

So here's what I've got: one of the first gen Intel Macbooks with 2gb RAM, running a fresh install of FCS2, fully updated. I pulled out my external with my project on it (saved in the same version), that I keep my demo reel updated on. I've always used the motion text master template files to label each clip and for some reason, this round the text isn't appearing. Let me be clear just how weird this is: the template file will show up in the viewer, but any file set in this sequence will be blank. If there is any graphics to the file, IT shows up, but not the text. I opened up a new sequence and and first added a new master file to it, and it showed up on that sequence. I then went to the old sequence and copy/pasted the clips in it to the new sequence and the text shows up as well. What is up with the original sequence that is causing this issue??? Any thoughts? (unfortunately, my copy of Final Cut is a "Not for Resale" (NFR) so I can't call in for support.
    Thanks in advance!!!

    Hi Miro,
I was just experiencing a similar problem today.  In my situation I was getting the diagonal lines and the new project wasn't actually being trimmed, it was the same size as the original with all of the media from the original project .
It turns out that even though I was selecting 3 specific sequences out of 20 the Project Manager was ignoring that selection, it brought over those 3 sequences but all of the media from the other sequences.  I think this is what was creating the problem.
The trim unused media box  (or whatever the check box says) was greyed out.
My solution was to create a new clean project and import the 3 sequences I wanted to create a new trimmed project from.
Then using the Project Manager everything worked as expected, the project was trimmed down and there were no diagonal lines.  I unchecked the "rename media" option, not sure if that was necessary part of the solution.
This seems like a bug to me, we shouldn't have to create a new project, it's an extra unwanted step and clutter on our systems.
    Hope that helps!
I'm on Mac 10.8.5 and Premiere 7.0.1, eagerly awaiting to update once the bug fixes to the bug fixes are fixed.

  • Can't Create New Sequence

    FCS2 Upgraded and updated yesterday.
For some reason starting today I can't create new sequences. New Sequence doesn't make a new sequence in any of the bins (but doesn't crash - just nothing happens), whether from the File menu or right-clicking in a bin.
Importing XML (from Color or even via Color > Send to FCP) doesn't create a sequence either.
Creating a new project gives me an empty project, with no sequences in it either.
    Anyone?

And, as always, FCP Rescue can make backing up or trashing your preferences nice and easy.

Once you've got a functioning preference set, you can back it up to restore later in case this happens again.

  • Insert new sequence (project) into an existing project?

For a slide show mixing stills and video over songs:
Project was "finished," with images arranged and sequeing as I wanted, and matched to three songs. Including credits, all nicely wrapped up.
I now have to add more images and 1 new song. *This new sequence+song needs to insert between the current songs 2 and 3, maintaining all existing footage and audio as is.* (In other words, song/sequence 3 will still be the final sequence.)
What is the best way to go about this?
    1) Create a separate Project B, and then insert that as a whole video+audio sequence into current Project A? Is that even possible?
    2) Insert the new audio track where it will live and begin assembling images against it?
    3) Insert and assemble the new images and then add the audio?
    4) Some other way?
A related query: when adding new audio, it goes in as one large green b.g to the images. On my current project, each audio track is a simple line underneath the images. This latter way is much easier to deal with. How can I make that happen?
    Thanks much.
    Jonathan

Add your new images first. Then drag the new audio track and drop it on the first of the new images.

  • Linking Effects from Old Sequence to Newer Sequence?

    Hey guys!
Sort of complicated question that I'm hoping has a simple solution.
I have a two hour sequence that has been edited in Premiere CS6. While I was finalizing the edit, I had someone doing color work on the piece in Magic Bullet in Premiere CC. Now that the edit is finalized, there's a difference of ~25 minutes between one sequence and the other, related to minor edits, medium edits, and entire scenes being removed. Both sequences reference the same media.
Is it possible to quickly apply the color work from his sequence (applied as effects to each clip) to the newer sequence with the edits that we want?
Thanks so much for any help you can provide!

    Hi ctbckdrptrn,
Please check the b tutorial given below which shows how to copy and paste the attributes from one clip to the other in Premiere Pro CC. Hope it helps.

  • Copy setting to new sequence

I'm working on an HD project and when I copy the sequence and paste it in a new sequence where do make it the same settings? I went to settings and it looks like they are the same.

    1) It's only been a few hours. Calm yourself.
    2) You hardly gave any information to work off of. "HD sequence"? What kind of HD? What do you mean "copy the sequence and paste it in a new sequence"? Are you taking about nesting, or just duplicating clips? "I went to settings" is not quite a sentence.

  • Why does Adobe Premiere CC crash whenever I put a new sequence in?

Just tonight, while editing for my short video with my new capture card, an interesting problem occurred. Whenever I paste a clip of any kind, no matter the format or the quality, I put it into a new sequence and it takes just 3 seconds to crash adobe immediately. I've tried with other files and even on previous projects, they'll do the same thing. How did this happen and really, how can I fix it?

I just got this computer in December. I have been using CS5 with no problems at all. Yesterday, I tried to save a very simple file to the desktop and illustrator crashed. It is happening any time I try to save the file to anyplace other than the one file that comes up when I use the "save as" or "save" command. Its happening no matter how small the file is.
I have already removed almost everything from my desktop as one person suggested. I have uninstalled illustrator, run the cleaner program, restarted and re installed illustrator. I have updated illustrator to the current version.
I am using osx yosemite 10.10.2
    I have 16 g of memory.
I have 258G free out of 500G total of storage.
    I am at a loss.
Do you know why it would be crashing?
    Please help.
    Thank you.

  • I am trying to make a subclip but it makes a new sequence

When I mark in and out points and click on "make subclip", it instead makes a new sequence.  Any ideas?

I just discovered I need to double click on the clip first! Problem solved.

  • How to make a custom sequence load when a new sequence (Ctrl+N) is clicked

    Hello,
I have certain fixed steps to be executed for many test sequences at part of Setup and Cleanup group. I have created sequences for each group(init.seq and Release.seq) and called them in another sequence (Template.seq)
If Template.seq opens when I press Ctrl+N, reoccuring activity time can be saved.
I have tried adding Template.seq in Template Tab but that too requires deleting MainSequence(which gets create when Ctrl+N is pressed) and then adding this Template.seq from template tab.
You find the sequence is the attahment
Is there is way to meet this requirement?

    Anand,
there is no way i know of to change the New Sequence File menu bar option to spawn a custom template sequence file instead of an empty one.
What you can do is to provide a tool you add to the TestStand tools menu.
