  • Not all disk appear when connecting to mac mini

I have a 2ghz Coreduo2 mamini running 10.5.8 set up holding 3 external HD's. I then connect from my macbook pro to get acces to the disks..
But half the times only some of the disks shows.
The mini is running headless and I allso use it as media center..
Is there a solution to my problem or should i install osx server or set ip up in a different way?

    Good questions!!
I've got a 100% correctness answer right here.
It is normal, because Mac mini can not handle more than 2 USB linked External HDD(or Anything) or more than 1 FireWire linked External HDD(or anything) at the same time! Why is that? Because lacking of stable current and voltage.
Believe me, if you want to kill your important data on your HDDs, you can keep link them that way ignoring my warning.
But if you want to use your Mac safely? Disconnect all the others, connect 1 external device at the most. Take 2? You are gambling the life of your HDDs or anything you link with it.
Remember, this notice is affected with all Mac mini(models Before/After 2009).
Only Mac Pro or Power Mac can link with more than 2 USB/FireWire External devices.(HDD, CD-ROM drive, DVD-ROM drive, pen-drive...etc.)

  • When connecting an iPod touch 4g to an accessory (car radio) can be heard crackling (cliping)

When connecting an iPod touch 4g to an accessory (car radio) can be heard crackling (cliping), as if listening to an old record, but via headphones everything is ok. So where is the problem?

All I can suggest are the standard fixes:
    - Reset the car system/contact the manufacturer
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • PC sometimes crashes when connecting my iPod

    Hi,
Apologies if this has been asked and answered before, I couldn't seem to find anything relating to my particular problem.
On occassions when connecting my iPod to my PC at work I find that the PC powers down completely, without going through any shutdown procedure. I then have to switch off the mains supply, listen for what sounds like a slight discharge, switch on the mains supply and power up my PC. If the iPod is already cabled up there's no problem with powering up. This doesn't happen everytime I connect, just intermitently, but it's annoying as I don't have any problems with anything else in the USB ports I'm using. I've also tried different USB ports on the machine, and it doesn't seem to make any difference. The PSU for the PC is 380W, so that shouldn't be the problem.
Fortunately the iPod doesn't get chance to go into 'Do Not Disconnect' mode, so I've never lost any of my content. But it's still annoying!
Can anyone suggest what's causing this?
Windows XP Professional SP2 and all the current updates
    iTunes 7.5.0.20
    30Gb 5th Gen iPod
    Thanks

Yes, the list on my computer of what is in my iPod library is grey, not black font. I tried "manual" but it will not allow me to drag anything to the iPod. Not even newly purchased music.
That certainly sounds like one of the Automatic syncing options has been engaged.
... quickly doublechecking, just in case. After selecting "Manually manage ..." in the device tab for the iPod in iTunes, did you click "Apply"?

  • Itunes freezes when connect my ipod

    Similar problem here:
When I'm playing songs with iTunes and connecting my 3G 20GB iPod, my computer will hang up completely - screen goes dark and I have to reset my PC.
However, when my iTunes is "idle", i.e. not playing a song or doing anything else, connecting and syncing the iPod will work just fine.
I'm using the newest (6.x) Version of iTunes on WinXP SP2 with a 3G iPod 20GB.

When connecting my ipod nano (5th gen) I get an error messege saying that it was recognized but not propperly. I treid everything that the support site said to do but it still not working. What do I do no?

This came from another thread, but worked for me.  Problem is with newest iTunes 4.62.  Unistall iTunes, as well as its helper programs (Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Divice Support, and Apple Software Update).  Reboot, and reinstall iTunes.  It will reinstall all the other ones and you should be able to connect your nano.  Good luck.

  • BSOD when connected to Ipod 120 gb

Whenever I connect my ipod to my laptop the laptop crashes, my desk top computer does not crash when connected to the same ipod.

So we know it's not an issue with the iPod or with the cable.  Are all the drivers, firmware, chipsets, and BIOS up
to date on the PC? To check, you'll have to visit the laptop's manufacturer's support site.  You'll need to know the
make and model of the laptop to get to the appropriate downloads page.
Was the iPod ever able to successfully connect with this laptop without causing the BSOD?

  • I have an error message when connecting my ipad to my laptop suggesting I need 64bit version of itunes. After repeatedly downloading and reinstalling Im still getting the same message. Any suggestions please?

When connecting my ipad mini to my lap top I keep getting an error message sugesting I need to install 64bit version of Itunes. I have done this repeatedly but the same message keeps recurring. Cananyone help? Thanks

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • Changes made on iPod don't appear when connected to iTunes

Long story short, iTunes doesn't like it when I make changes through my iPod, and tries to "fix" them.
If I delete a song or make changes to a playlist through the iPod itself, that change doesn't show up in iTunes. Deleted songs will be unplayable, but still appear. Newly created playlists may or may not appear. Deleted playlists are still there. Songs added to a playlist don't appear in the playlist, songs deleted from a playlist still appear in the playlist.
If I make a change to my iPod through iTunes itself, it reflects that change on my iPod, but also reverts any changes I've made through the iPod (so, if I remove a song from a playlist through my iPod, then connect to iTunes and remove a song from a playlist through iTunes, the song I removed through iTunes will be removed from my iPod, but the song I removed through my iPod will reappear). It will also occasionally re-load songs I've deleted entirely, though they'll be greyed out and unplayable.
As you may imagine, this is really annoying.
I have all types of automatic syncing turned off, and I don't store any music in iTunes itself once it's been put on my iPod.
I just want iTunes to show me what is on my iPod right now, and not revert back to whatever image it seems to have stored of my iPod when I try to make changes through iTunes. Does anyone have a fix for this?
iPod touch 4 with iOS 6.1.6
    iTunes 12.0.1.26
    MacBook Pro OS X 10.8.5

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
