No wifi for iphone 5's

Hi All
1 more person with wifi issues with the iphone 5.
I bought 2 iphone 5's, 1 black & 1 white.
After 1 week I lost the wifi connectivity.
I reset the phones....no
I reset the modem & changed the modem name...fixed one
I have tried just about everything on the other & still no wifi unless I am sitting in the same room as the modem
Has anyone got any suggestions please

Seems to be iPhone hardware fault. Make Genius reservation and take to Apple for resolution under Warranty.

is there a fix for dead wifi for iphone 4S
many people complain on these forums, all seem to be built early 2012 and fail 1 year later approx.
product recall?  or spend $200 more for a refurbish phone?

There are no recalls, there is no widespread issue.
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
If the problem continues, take the device to Apple for evaluation and possible replacement.

  • Going to hotel with wired broadband internet service. how do i convert to wifi for iphone ,ipad

Going to hotel with wired broadband internet service in room. What is easiest way to coinvert broadband to wifi for my iphone , Ipad and ipoi ?

Connect the ethernet cable to an Airport Express to provide Wi-Fi for your iDevices.

  • SUPER SIMPLE DUMB Question about hard-wired desktop mac and wifi for iPhone

Sorry if this has been already answered a million times. I have a desktop mac with a cable modem ethernet internet connection. I want to leave this hard-wired and setup a wifi network for a laptop or iPhone. What's the cheapest easiest way to do this?? I've never done anything wireless before.

Could I just somehow split the feed from the the cable modem or ethernet cable and route part of it into an AirPort express??
Unfortunately, no. This would create "confusion" for the modem as it is only expecting a single device to be connected to it. To be able to support both wired & wireless clients, you would need an Internet router with a built-in Ethernet switch, like the AirPort Extreme Base Station. If cost is an issue, you do NOT have to use an Apple router. There are a number of other vendors, like Belkin, D-Link, Linksys, & Netgear, to name a few, that offer similar models.

  • Facebook fix for slowness on wifi for iPhone 5S

    Hello,
While I was on hold for Apple Care I figured out why my iPhone was slow loading new posts from Facebook over Wifi. Locate in "Setting" the Facebook App. Find the "Facebook" App and tap to get to the Facebook "Settings" menu and tab to "Location" set to "While Using the App" plays an important factor in the speed of loading content. With Location set to "Never" it takes sometimes minutes to load new posts and with it on the speed loading is as fast as loading pages over cellular (4G).

Yes the pages load fine on data. But even games I have that use internet
don't always work right. But if I turn off the wif i. it works fine. I am
beginning to wonder if I made a mistake leaving sprint.

  • Incorrect password "wifi" for IPhone 3G

Hi, Im just new here in the forum. I really need help with my Iphone 3G. Before I can connect to wifi but after awhile I can no longer access any wifi, free or secured. When I try to connect to a network, it gives me an error "unable to connect". Then when I upgraded to OS 4.0, there is a new message "incorrect password for (networkname)". My iphone 3G is the only one that cannot connect to our network. The rest of my families' unit (ipods, ipad, laptops) can connect to our router. Can someone shed a light and help troubleshoot. Thanks!

    Hi Allan,
Had this problem with my 3G. Hardware. I had to reflow the PCB. Rather than using a heat gun I used my oven.
My alternative was paying Apple to fix the motherboard. So the reflow, although a risk, was a simple decision. No matter what I was looking at spending the replacement cost of my phone to fix the problem. I did this instead http://www.iphonetiquicia.com/repair-iphone-3g-wifi-oven/
I don't know if you are familiar with reflowing circuit boards so the tutorial may look crazy. But it's really just a less expensive tool (home oven) than the reflow ovens factories buy. Key is time and stable temp (use a second thermometer to be sure about temp).
Once I did the reflow not only did wifi work but my phone operating temp was cool rather than hot as it was previously. In other words, the reflow reduced the resistance in my solder joints that was previously caused by the micro-fissures. Saved me ~$200.

  • Wifi for iphone

This may be a stupid question but I recently purchased 2 iPhones 5c/Verizon.  I had been reading articles online and was wondering if I needed a wifi base station to allow my iPhones (wife's and mine) to operate, in the house, outside the cellular signal via wifi by connecting to my iMac thru bluetooth.  I know I can connect them just to download files, pics etc but will the iPhones operate thru the iMac to save data use in the iPhone?
    Thanks

Probably the most common thing that people do is to have a wi-fi router connected to their internet. That means that they either have a combined modem/wi-fi router (sometimes provided by their internet provider) or if they don't have a combined device, they have a cable or dsl modem and connected to that is the wi-fi router. Some computers can connect to a wi-fi router via ethernet cable while other computers and devices like the iPhones can connect via wi-fi.
Instead of using a router it is possible (if your iMac is connected to the internet via ethernet) to have your Mac act as the wi-fi hotspot. I'm not up to speed with the advantages/disadvantages but I suspect that one would be that the Mac has to be running for that to work. • TS1559 Well is it iOS 7 make gray no wifi for iPhone 3g

How do I fix gray no wifi on my 3G and I feel like iOS 7 luck my wifi

    Hello Bellaluna2Bianca
Thanks for the question. It looks like you came from the most relevant article. You might want to follow these steps, and if the issue persists, contact Apple for support and service options.
iOS: Wi-Fi settings grayed out or dim
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1559
Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
    1. Verify that airplane mode is off by tapping Settings > Airplane Mode.
    2. Reset the network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Note: This will reset all network settings, including Bluetooth pairing records, Wi-Fi passwords, VPN, and APN settings
    3. Ensure that your device is using the latest software. To do so, connect your device to your computer and check for updates in iTunes.
    4. If your issue is still unresolved, perform a software restore in iTunes.
If you are still unable to turn Wi-Fi on, please contact Apple for support and service options.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • Please support wifi sync with itunes for iphone and touch

Why not syncing using Wifi for iphone, touch and Macs to keep libraries and devices in sync?
    Bye Marco

This really isn't the best place to give Apple feedback. It is suggested you go through the appropriate channels, and in this case that would be via the iTunes Feedback Page.

  • How do I add a new Apple ID for wife's iPhone 5s?

Presently my wife and I share an Apple ID for all of our apple products.  How ever we run into the problem of her contacts and my contacts merging when we do back ups and syncing.  I am afraid that if I create a new ID for my wife's iPhone I will lose all of her contacts and music.  How do I do this with out losing all of her stuff.  Thanks in advance for you assistance.

You can create a new Apple ID by going to Settings / iTunes & Apps and create new account. Even if she creates a new account, she can still see the content she has for music or apps downloaded on phone currently, though if updating apps, she'll need to enter in your Apple ID and password because it was bought through yours.
Though for any free apps you've downloaded, just redownload with new account you create but anything you bought, you'd have to rebuy because it wasnt through the new account.

  • HT204053 How do I have my  wife's iphone 4s upload pics to the same icloud used for my ipad and iphone?  Phone does not allow changing icloud ID once established.

How do I have my wife's iphone 4s upload pics to the same icloud I use for with my 4s and ipad?  Can seem to change her icloud ID to match mine.

I can tell you how to do this but first wanted to be sure that's what you want to do.  You would then be sharing the same iCloud account and any synced data (contacts, calendars, etc.) would then be merged and the merge data would appear on her phone and your iPad (i.e., you'll end up with each other's contacts on your phone). You would also both be backing up your devices to the same account, sharing the 5GB of free storage (assuming you're both backing up to iCloud).
There's an alternative setup that would allow her to set up your iCloud account on her phone as her primary account and just turn on photo stream in that account (allowing your to share you photo stream), then set up a secondary iCloud account on her phone that would sync her Mail, Notes, Contacts, Calendars and Reminders.  She would still have to back up her phone to your account, as well as syncing Safari, Documents and Find My iPhone (all of which can only be done in the primary account).  Also, her mail would be fetch, not push as push email is only supported in the primary account.
I suppose a third option is to leave things as they are and share you photos with each other using shared photo streams.
Let me know what you want to do and I'll give you the steps.
