Nokia 603 SMS thread view problem

Hi All, My nokia 603 is unable to display the message in thread view. whenever the SMS is sent or recieved it will show some random integers. but if i enter to the folder view I am able to view the entire message. This is happening all of a sudden without any change done in the phone. Some one pls clarify whether it is the known issue, if so please gimme the solution. Thanks, Muralids

We haven't confirmed if this is a known bug as it's not included in the list of Nokia 603 reported issues posted here: Firmware change logs for Symbian (S60) devices.
However, you may try these troubleshooting steps to fix the problem:
1. Check if the conversation view is still activated. Go to Menu, tap on Messaging, and then hit Options ( ≡ ). After that, choose View folders, hit Options ( ≡ ) again, and then select Message View. Set it to Conversations View.
2. If the first option didn't work, try the steps provided in this link: Nokia 603 - Need help in fixing a problem?

Hi, I'd appreciate if anyone could help me
My nokia603 ON button works fine when the phone is already on, meaning i can press it to switch the phone off, but when the phone is off, and try to turn it on again by pressing the on button, it doesnt respond. any reason for that?

I managed to get my phone started after hours of pressing the on button and hoping for a response. Now it's already turned on and I plan not to turn it off again or else I will have to go thru the same process of trying to get it back up. It works fine when it is already on
I think unplugging and plugging in multiple times serves the same function as pressing the on button many times. I've tried that too, but it just happened that I got lucky while pressing the on button instead of while plugging it in
Yes my phone definitely has hit the ground a few times, but definitely not from a dangerous height. Maybe 2 feet off the ground? And yes also liquid damage but also a bit, like when I use it during a drizzle?
I've brought it to get checked , its not a battery problem they said. but they cannot do anything because its an old model.

Problem using Gprs in nokia 603

i am facing alot of problem while using internet on my nokia 603.it takes me hours to connect even sometime whole day long. The message that shows up is '' connection failed,'' or ''connection unavailable''..called my service provider n install settings many times but its the problem with my cel..if anybody could help me out???

have you checked another SIM card on your device to see if that works, even from another provider? also if your SIM appears in old condition, then it may be a good idea to get a new SIM from your network carrier and try that. failing that, check via Nokia Suite to see if there are any firmware updates available for your device, if there are any, please update to the latest version offered. failing that, try re-installing your current firmware thru Nokia Suite.

Charging problem with nokia 603

Hi, I just bought Nokia 603 one week back but i had to give it back to nokia are for charging problem, anyway my point is all nokia hardly had problems with charging but now with nokia 603 it is really strange. Can Nokia please check in to this

Please mention, kind of charging problem.
Even on my 701, charging port given keeps on disconnecting now and then. Maybe because of new fast charger.

Mail.app "Threaded view" algorithm problem

Hello,
I noticed that there is an issue with "Threaded View" feature in mail.app :
- First : i think the algorithm gathers emails in threaded view by "Subject"
- Then the algorithm fall-back to the In-Reply-To and Message-Id headers
Is there a way to disable the first "gather by subject" feature ? It's annoying because, for example, every mail with subject "Hello !" are threaded, even if there're not related...
I looked in some com.apple.mail.plist if found, but nothing seemed to be related to this function...

Thanks for the update. Did you change any particular settings in your phone prior to this issue? You may try restoring the phone's settings by going to Menu > Settings > Phone Management > Restore factory settings > Settings only. And then, type 12345 for the security code unless you have already changed it.This won't delete any personal data. Make sure that the phone's software is updated as well. You can use Nokia Suite to check for SW updates. Just install Nokia Suite to your PC, and then connect the phone via a compatible USB cable. After that, launch Nokia Suite, and then go to SW updates > Device Software Updates. If there's no update available, you can try selecting the Reinstall current SW option. Get Nokia Suite from this link: Nokia Suite download

Nokia 603 problem with headset audio after updatin...

Prior belle fp2 sound was working fine, after updating to belle fp2 headset sound turns too noisy, reinstalling update is of no use as i came to know that these update actually update the rom better to patched ROM. Once you have a buggy update it is hard to fix it by updating, The only solution i see is the BOX Flushing. I am pretty sure this is a software issue, as i have tried different headset and also changed the audio jack. Visiting the Nokia care is a pathetic experience. I already visited once, they charged me for doing nothing, when my cell was in warantee period. Cell was returned as it was. I don't believe on nokia anymore, i am expecting someone can help me in this situation.

It can be the same issue, as there are actually two microswitches in there: one for diverting analog output from the speakers to the phones, and another one for switching analog to digital when a TOSlink cable is plugged in.
Do you see a red dot of light way in the back? If yes, then the jack got switched to digital mode.

Nokia 603 in-call volume too low ?

Hello everyone. Bought Nokia 603 yesterday and im very pleased with it. however im having a problem with it searched for it and on internet and found nothing. 603's in call volume is way too low. i have set volume to max but still if i call someone or they call me earpiece (not headphone) volume is very low.
I want to know that is this a hardware fault or just all Nokia 603 phones are having this issue. Thanks. and is there any solution for it ? and also my phone is running on symbian belle FP1.

Nokia 5800 not receiving texts problem!

Hi guys Bought the Nokia 5800 about 2 weeks ago and all has been fine with it until recently.....
Ive done no modifications of upgrades or played about with any of the settings..
But now for some reason im not receiving text messages when they are sent??
The only way I can get them is by either sending one, turning my phone off then back on or by going into message settings and selecting view sim messages then the message will pop up....
But I have to do this everytime which is quite annoying! I can do everything else fine....send messages, ring people receive calls etc.
Ive rang vodaphone and 5 times they have fobbed me off with different things to try and none have worked....Ive tried the hard reset and still nothing!
Is anybody else having this problem, or does anyone know a solution to fix it?

I haved the same problem and I think I solved it, and it works (right now and hopefully also in future).
I have 5800XM with latest firmware upgrade - V30.0.011
THIS IS NOT NEEDED BUT USEFULL
Connect your phone (with phone battery loaded on full) to PC. Make backup of your phone data. Menu START, Nokia, Nokia Ovi, Content Copier
If you have V20 or V21... *#0000# - select this combination as a phone number to check what version do you have. If you have V20 you can update firmware to V21 via NSU (Nokia Software Updater). All international language versions beside English are corrupt (last week I checked, maybe something changed) so better use English version because it's always latest, fresh etc. ALWAYS read what NSU talk to you on the screen.
If you have already V21, update to V30 you can do only from phone. You must have access to stable WIFI connection (because file to download is something like 5MB size) and phone battery loaded on full. I'm using Polish language so I don't know how it's named in English but... Press middle button twice, go to Preferences, go to Phone and find icon with arrow ("Phone management" or something like that) then phone icon with arrow straight down - this is responsible for firmware update.
THIS IS IMPORTANT IF YOU ARE AFTER FIRMWARE UPDATE (OR IF YOU HAVE BASIC FIRMARE VERSION) AND DON'T GET NEW MESSAGE INDICATION AND/OR NEW SMS SOUND INDICATION
Press middle button twice, go to Preferences, go to Phone and find icon with arrow - "Phone management" or something like that, then pure phone icon - "Factory settings" or something like that. Some window arrive, click OK. This is not hardcore format, you don't loose anything.
After this operation you will have "clean screen" like straight from factory, so if you haved before little "tuned" screen and overall phone (added phonebook contacts from SIM card, selected wallpaper, different profile etc.)... you know what to do - tune it again. ;PP
I tested it. On different profiles (General, Outside - one hella loud profile on 5800 speakers, better don't use it rooms where silent is needed xD), with upcoming sms when screen was active, with upcoming sms when screen was locked - indication works with the sound!
Turning on/off phone registry logging (incoming/outgoing connections, sms etc.) got nothing to do with solving this problem.
Have hope it helps someone... This is for 5800 but what I see also other Nokia models have the same problem so maybe other users find this post usefull too.

Adobe Content Viewer problem. Please Help me...

Hi after updating online. Folio, I tried to update the trial version of the publication on my iPad but I get this message: "the issue isavailable for dowload, but new signing for an application version. Update the application from the App Store. "I went to the AppStore and was not any update of the Content Viewer ... I deleted the version on my iPad I downloaded again ... but without success gives me the same problem ... Please help me ... how can I do??

As discussed in numerous threads already, the new viewer has not been approved by Apple yet.
If you’re a pro or enterprise customer you can create your own viewer app. If not, you’ll have to wait or roll back to the older tools.

Nokia 603, doesnt switch on and shutdown after Nok...

i have recently bought a new nokia 603 ( march 2012 ) and didint used it much uptill now just 1 hour talk counter it runned uptill now, i upgrade it as soon as i bought it in the month of march, till 10th april it showed that your phone is up to date upgraded, but jsut two days before(12th april), i check online through wi-fi that its updates are availble of ( improved software size 24mb ), i didnt updated it as i was short of time, so i left it as it is, and didint proceed with the update ( i didnt pushed any button to start the update ). after aafew hours my frined called me and told me that Skype has started to work in Nokia 603 as it was not working prevoiusly, i checked in my phone just 5 mints and Skype really started to work, i just went to office, over thier i recieved a call from my client and during call my phone got switched off by itself, i tired to restsrt it, but it didnt, on way back to home i took the phone to NOKIA CARE PAKISTAN(peshawar) office, they told me your phone software is totally dead and we will try to put another software in it, i was so much depressed that how Nokia is using such sub-standard software that it corrupted in just afew days, i really felt ashamed of buying Nokia phone, as i am an old fan of Nokia phones but Nokia 603 really disappointed me.

As you have spoken to our Nokia Care in Pakistan, they will be able to deal with your issue promptly and fix your Nokia 603 as it will be still under warranty.

Nokia 603 wifi unable to surf the internet but con...

I'm really frustated with Nokia 603 wifi.It doesnt activate the internet whilst my other mobile have no problem or issue connecting and activating to the wifi.From what I read mostly the wifi issue here.Can someone out there assist me with this problem?I called the Nokia tech support team but they themselves is a failure to trouble shoot this problem.I have thought of not supporting Nokia anymore.This problem has been month without solution.Now I'm using my othe brand mobile to use wifi connection.

N8 Bug : SMS Conversation view and notification be...

As topic says :
When i receive an MMS (with picture) on my N8, I get no notification (beep) , and it doesn't show up in 'conversation / threaded view' (but it IS stored in the 'classic' sms/mms inbox.
Also, all following SMS's after that are not being notified .. and don't show up in conversation view (they ARE silently stored in 'classic' sms inbox / view.
The only solution is to delete the MMS and reboot the phone.

How do the phone know if you've read that? With non-much phones, it was possible as you could keep a message in highlight. For touch enabled phones, you need to open the message to mark it as read.
