Nokia 808 WPA/WPA2 secured wifi problems

I have a nokia 808 pureview with BELLE FP2. However i am not able to connect to WPA/WPA2 secured wifi connection in my college. It should ask for a username and password for authentication but it simply tries to connect automatically and does not connect saying authenticaton failed. Please help me over the issue.

would i be able to use the lion internet recovery since my college uses WPA/WPA2 Enterprise wifi? Im confused becasue this exact one is not listed under apples page about os x recovery.

Probably not.  You'd need to go somewhere that Internet isn't on a locked-down wireless network.
See this for specifics.  "It depends."

  • Administrative credentials when adding a WEP/WPA/WPA2 Enterprise wifi profile?

    Hello,
Why do users need to provide administrative credentials when they install a configuration profile containing installation of a WEP Enterprise or WPA/WPA2 Enterprise Wifi-profile? This is not the case when installing a Wifi-profile usning standad WEP, WPA or WPA2.
Is this a bug? It confuses users with user profiles when they need to confirm the installation with administrative credentials.

I don't know the answer to your question. Maybe you can find something here:

  • HP Wireless Printers cannot connect to WPA2-secured WiFi networks with Cisco/Meraki WAPs

In the last two months, I've had the displeasure of working with two very different HP printers and attempting to make them work on a WPA2-secured wireless network.  All attempts to authenticate fail with "invalid phassphrase".
I'm not the first person to encounter this, it's a problem with many different HP wireless printers (I just happen to have physical access to the OfficeJet Pro 8610 & Deskjet 3511).
My equipment is a Cisco ASA 5505 Firewall running ASA 9.1x & Cisco Aironet 1142 running IOS 15.3.x.
What does work on the WPA2/AES SSID:  Apple MacBook Air running OSX 10.10.2, Three Windows-Based laptops running Windows 8.1 Update 1, an iPhone 5s, Three Windows Phone 8.1 devices, Roku 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Sharp Aquos TV, Amazon Streaming Stick, and an Android Tablet (Jellybean).  Basically, everything.
What does not work on the WPA2 network:  OfficeJet Pro 8610 & Deskjet 3511.
To test the theory there is a problem with HP's implementation of WPA2 with regard to Cisco Aironet IOS, I built out a second SSID that only works in WPA/TKIP mode.  This solution works.  Both HP printers will join the WPA/TKIP network.
So, I'm able to demonstrate there is a certain connectivity issue.  When i look at AAA Debug on the WAP's console, I can observe the HPs attempt to authenticate "Bind I/F" on the WPA2 SSID, however they do not achieve authentication and do not pass the AAA phase.  However, on the WPA SSID, they bind and authenticate successfully.
To help illustrate this, here is my WAP running config.  It's about as simple as it can get.  There is no relevant MAC filtering or ACLs bound to any interface.  Noting that I have an ACL on remote access to the WAP (i.e. Locked down to SSH, disabling telnet).  The main point being that the ASA firewall is not a factor in this problem as the issue is at the WAP before WPA2 authentication can complete, therefore the printers never reach the network / when the printers connect to the WPA network, the operate fully & correctly.
If anyone at HP can indicate why this particular config is somehow improper or broken, that would be fantastic.  There should be no reason why Cisco / Meraki WAP owners have to lower wireless encryption standards just for a printer, be forced into wired, create separate SSIDs with lower encryption specifically for a device.

I get the same behavior with a laserjet m451nw. I need to enable tkip to get the printer working, it doesn't support pure aes-ccm (every other device here supports pure aes-ccm, even cheap ones), although it's advertised as working.

  • WVC54GCA Missing WPA/WPA2 security options in web interface

I just got a WVC54GCA and found out that there are some missing configuration options in the wireless settings:
    On the cameras web interface:
web interface > Basic : Wireless Settings > [ Edit Security Settings ] > Security Mode:
the dropdown gives me only two options: Disable and WEP, but no WPA, WPA2!
I upgraded to the latest firmware (1.1.00 build 02), but the problem remains.
Tried different browsers (Firefox 3.5, IE8) with the same result.
Is this a firmware bug?  A faulty device? Anyone else having the same issue?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Try to clear the Browser settings of your IE and then try to login to the setup page of your Camera, and check if you are able to find that options.... If still unable to find WPA/WPA2 Option on your camera, Press and hold the reset button for 60 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your camera, wait for 60 seconds and re-connect the power cable....
Now check if you are able to find that options... If still not then i think it might be the problem with the Camera...  I think you need to replace your Camera.

  • Secured wifi problem

    Hi all,
I have just purchased a playbook. I am having a problem with wifi. I am able to access my home wifi just fine. I can also access "open" wifi from the surrounding areas (eg colleges) with full signal. But I am not able to access my college's secured wifi. The school's IT team spent an hour with it, but could not get it to connecto to the school's connection. They tried adding my playbook's MAC address, manually connect etc... nothing works. The signal that my playbook picks up at the college is rather sporadic, too. Sometimes it's 0 bar, sometimes it's full bar, sometimes it's in between. All can happen in a few seconds while I'm standing at one spot. The playbook can't even pick up the signal when I'm standing under the wifi-hot spot router.
Anyone knows what's going on? My playbook does have the latest version of the official OS. I would like to keep my playbook, but I will return it for a refund if this issue can't be resolved.
Thank you very much for your help.

First make sure you've downloaded the 6067 update, then if you turn on the wifi and have it scan for networks, you'll then select the secured network you want to connect to, then you'll have a choice of access, my network uses a password so I enter the password and that profile is saved, so everytime it finds that secured network it connects. You can also connect using the other choices. As for the signal, is there a way you can test the signal strength using another computer to determine if there's just  weak signal? You need signal to connect. One other thing, since you've been trying a bunch of differenct things I would hit the battery symbol, then click on restart and after the PB reboots start over.

  • WPA/WPA2 secured wireless connection fails for two minurtes for every hour of use.

    Hello.
I have a brand new ThinkPad T500 2055-A16 with Windows Vista Business. I have a WiFi connection problem. It is not a signal strength problem, as it doesn't work even if I place the computer right next to the access point with no other wireless equipment near by.
None of my other computers experience this problem. I even bought another ThinkPad T500 2055-A16 at the same time as this one, and that does not have the problem either. The problem is when I connect to a network using WPA2-PSK or WPA-PSK. The connection works fine for half an hour, an hour or two hours, but then without warning, the connection is lost and it is not possible to reconnect for half a minute, a minute or two minutes. The exact times vary. When I switch the network to use WEP or no encryption, everything works fine. But I don't like to use no encryption and I cannot use WEP because I have other computers in my home which does not support WEP.
I had this problem right from the beginning the first time I used the computer. I have tried many things like disabling power management or IPv6 and other things suggested by my ISP, but it did not change anything, so I switched them back to their default value. I have also tried to update the driver for the Intel(R) WiFi Link 5100 AGN card, but that didn't help the problem. The problem became slightly less annoying when I uninstalled Access Connections, because Vista would then reconnect as soon as it could, whereas I in Access Connections would have to continuously press the connect button until it succeeded. But the problem is still a real pain.
Some pieces from the Windows Event Viewer, which I think looks interesting (these occur regularly at exactly the same timestamps as when the connection is lost):
     Profile match: Success
     Pre-Association: Success
     Association: Success
     Security and Authentication: Fail
    0x00048005 and 0x0003800b
    Result of diagnosis: Problem found
Issue referred to: L2Sec Helper Class
I also see the following message on my access point's log, which also occur at exactly the times when the connection is lost:
    1x:00216b4d7ee6:logout
(The number match the MAC address of my computer)
The only other message which is logged on my Access Point when all log options are enabled is "Time initialized by NTP server".
How can I solve this problem so that I can have undisrupted wireless Internet access?

Edit: Actually my other ThinkPad T500 2055-A16 also fails in the same way, but my ThinkPad SL500 2746-9BG and my Medion laptops works fine, also running Vista.

  • Ipad will not connect to wifi wpa/wpa2

My Ipad 2 will not connect to my Wifi setup.  I have a wireless router with a WPA/WPA2 security.  I have the password and I just keep getting the message unable to connect.  Any suggestions on how to solve this?

I don't have this exact issue. Mine will connect, but it drops the connection all the time. It's really frustrating. Searching for a solution, I've come across a few things that might help you. You could try turning off the wifi in settings and then turning it back on, going into the settings and restoring network settings, and going into settings and renewing your lease. I tried all of those things and none of them fixed my problem, but a lot of threads here mention them, so I assume they work for some people. I hope this helps!

  • Nokia 808 internet connection issue / limited conn...

Hi I have bought a Nokia 808 yesterday and the wifi connectivity has major issues.
When connected to wifi access point it is almost always followed by limited connectivity.
I can browse the internet using the browser but the following do not work:
Setting up new email - tries to connect and times out
Maps - Cannot download maps, stuck on 0 % - keeps telling me that im not connected
Weather - doesnt update, always says try again later
Nokia Sync - Thinks its not connected to the internet
Pretty much all internet based apps think im not connected
But as soon as I launch browser it works and opens all pages.
Also stores sometimes opens and says its not available in your country. I want to know why Nokia is selling a phone in my country with local nokia company guarantee and local language support on software and on packaging, but somehow does not give our country access to apps.
I have a Level One WBR6600 modem, never had issues connecting. Updated to latest firmware. All other devices work on the access point, only the nokia has problems.
I have reset countless times to original settings
Deleted access point / re added
I have tried changing access point security to WEP ,  WPA   , WPA2 , and no security, made no difference
I think the problem is not my modem, but the phone. I have tried Tethering from my iphone to nokia and still very limited connectivity.
I have been using iphones for the past few years, and this phone was only appealing because of the camera, but I am very disapointed with the software of the phone. I feel like I downgraded phones. Right now without internet connectivity its a pretty strange phone.
Also very strange to see that the phone has a wiered VPN setup. Its impossible for me to setup my vpn accounts on it, it is asking me for some policies, i think it only supports corprate vpn access and not web serving vpns, like ALL OTHER phones do, with the easiest set up.
    please help.

thanks emprazol, you are right, we are discussing this also here: http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Connectivity/Nokia-808-Belle-FP1-bug-WLAN-works-but-not-all-apps-can...

  • AppleTV in corporate, WPA2-enterprise wifi networks

    Hello,
I would like to use AppleTV in my institution's corporate WPA2 secure wifi network, in order to mirror my iPad. I am looking for a stable solution.
iOS devices require the installation of a profile. I have tried to install a profie in an AppleTV (2nd generation). I don't think the profile "stuck". Should a profile stay in the AppleTV, would iOS devices "see" the Apple TV across the secure network? Also, I've read that the problem is that first time the AppleTV tries to connect to the internet, it tries to set date and time, and it remains in there in a loop unless it sets it from a wired connection (then, it can connect to the wifi network)
Another solution would be using an Airport Express to distribute dynamic IP's to the AppleTV and the iOS devices. But, can a WPA2-enterprise profile be installed permanently in Airport Express?
Linking the AppleTV or the Airport Express to ethernet (RJ45 cable) is not viable: those are fixed IP's which must remained assigned only to desktop computers. The solution must be wifi to wifi.
I would greatly appreciate any suggestions.
    Thank you very much,
    -celso

That depends on the settings in the network you're trying to connect to. You need to check with the administrator of that network.

  • DROID 4 & WPA/WPA2

Todyay, I received a new MI424WR Rev I router to fix a data corruption problem that I was having.  Revision I has WPA/WPA2 security capability.  I can connect my Sirius/XM internet radio when the router is set to WPA or WPA2, but I can't connect my DRIOD 4 Android phone.  The DROID can see the network.  But it keeps telling me that the password is incorrcect.  I've tried both the default password and I've tried entering my own password.  Both units work if I change the security to WEP.
I know that the phone works with WPA/WPA2 because I have good connections to the network in my office and at a friend's house, which are both WPA2.  I've tried turning the firewall off on my PC, in case that would help, but it didn't (no surprise, I was fishing).
Does anyone have any other suggestions?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

My problem was case.  The password uses upper case letters.  When I typed the password into the DROID, I was using lower case letters.  When I first attempted to enter the password, I hit the Caps Lock key and still got lower case letters.  So, I assumed that case didn't matter.  That opinion was compoundeb by the fact that when I entered the password into my Sirius/XM Internet Radio, I only had the option of entering lower case letters and it worked.  Also, when I changed to WEP, I entered the password in lower case letters, even though it was supposed to be upper case, and that worked as well.
Just for the hell of it, rather than pressing Cap Lock, I tried the Shift Key, which allowed me to enter upper case letters.
Once I did, the password was accepted.
Thanks for everyone's help and hopefully, someone else who has the same problem finds this thread and this will help them.

  • E71 - WPA2 security doesn't work with Netgear DG83...

I am unable to connect to wireless network running by Netgear DG834PN router under WPA/WPA2 security. My E61i connects perfectly however I get "No gateway reply" error with E71!

    Hi hadimassa...
Yeah, I'm not new to all this, so have looked at a while variety of options of router configuration, security configuration and handset configuration. Ive gone from g only, g&b, Auto108, variable channels, auto home page, no home page yadda yadda yadda.
I have tried all available WPA-PSK versions from WPA, WPA2 to WPA+WPA2. If there is any level of security above WEP then theres no action and the error returned from the handset is no gateway.
Ive editied IPv4 to fall into line manually, tired working with a proxy and its all the same result.
Basically when you start the browser, enter a webpage, the connection options pop up as normal, I select the router, the wifi icon comes on.. there is about a 5-10 second delay followed by an error tone and 'No Gateway' error message.
Turn off the security and there's lightening fast wifi. Very annoying.
If you have any ideas you think I might not have tried tho... Id be well happy to hear them
"No gateway reply"  indicates that you're in fact connected. Turn off the powersaving in the WLAN settings. Tools-> settings-> connection-> WLAN-> options-> advanced settings->yes-> powersaving-> off.

  • WPA/WPA2 Enterprise Support -  Please Apple PLEASE!

I have been searching through this discussion board and I have found many discussions like this one.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1106197&tstart=0
People who complain of not being prompted for a Username and Password for WiFi access are complaining of lack of WPA/WPA2 Enterprise Support for Apple's iPhone. Many college campuses, major workplaces and public libraries use WPA/WPA2 Enterprise support, which prompt you for a Username AND Password.
Why doesn't Apple's iPhone support one of the most common WiFi protocal's in today's world?
If Apple doesn't implement WPA/WPA2 Enterprise support, many people are going to look for alternative ways to connecting to a WPA/WPA2 Enterprise WiFi network with their iPhones. Example: hacking their iPhone and using a risky 3rd party application.
I STRONGLY recommend to Apple to get on this as soon as possible...
Does anyone know if Apple is working on this currently?
    Thank You!

Imac will not connect to Airport Extreme when configured WPA/WPA2
    Posted: Jul 5, 2007 8:22 PM Reply
I just got my Imac to connect to the internet using my Airport Extreme but only by using WEP. I had my Windows XP SP2 machines connecting using WPA/WPA2 with no problem. The Imac will not connect using anything other than WEP, and 1 of the XP machines will not connect using WEP.(I have not tried the other XP machines) I had to set the Airport Extreme for an open network in order to let both computers access the shared hard drive and access the internet.
I don't know what the problem might be and would appreciate any suggestions.
MacBookPro, Imac   Mac OS X (10.3.9)   Fujitsu tablet PC, 2 XP desktops

hehe...on the visuals. I figured it out already, and I have the old airport card. However, I did a chat with Apple support and while we were chatting I found a USB adapter with MAC drivers which will work. It is:
Hawking Technology HWUG1A Wireless-G USB Adapter with Removable Antenna for Macintosh
    Manufacturer Part# HWUG1A
That is the only adapter that actually does WPA/WPA2 that I can find that is for a Mac and not just an older USB that only does WEP. It surprises me that Apple does not have a USB product like this. Anyway, for $56 including shipping, I will have it by Monday or Tuesday. Pretty cool.
Thank you so much for your assistance. It is appreciated.

  • Wifi w/WPA/WPA2 Enterprise

I have a strange issue. We are trying to connect iPhones to the corporate wifi network. This uses WPA/WPA2 Enterprise encryption with EAP-FAST authentication. I have created a Wifi Configuration Profile using the iPhone Config Utility v3.3. All settings look correct.
I install this config profile to an iPhone 4 and it cannot connect.
I install this same config profile to iPod Touch 2G and it does not connect.
I install this same config to iPad2 and it works perfectly fine. Connects every time no problem.
Apparently there is some difference in how the devices handle wifi security?!?
Does anyone have any insight into this?

Is the wireless network an "n" network?
    If so, the iPhone 4 supports 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi (802.11n 2.4GHz only).
No such 2.4GHz only requirement for an "n" network with the iPad.
