X7-00 permanently black screen

I have , I think , the same problem with light sensor, but it don't recover. I have tried get out the sim and sd card to force a restart , but my X7 continue with black screen .

Yeah, they don't respond well to threats.
I'm confused that your parrot can detect it, but when you try to call it you get a message saying the phone is off. Sounds like there's some hardware issue with your phone. I would suggest contacting your local Nokia Care Point for them to investigate the issue.

N8 black screen after updated to the new version 0...

Hello everyone, how are you doing?
My Nokia N8 stop working at all, as it just gives me a little bit vibration when I push power bottom and nothing occurred on the screen its black screen. That’s happen after I made update for the software using Nokia software update, but in the middle of the operation I got an error message “update can’t completed” …
So please advise me with your experience.

Was it an OTA or Ovi Suite update? Try rebooting the phone by pressing and holding the power button for at least 8 seconds until the phone buzzez 3 times in quick succession. Then try restarting your phone again.
Another thing you could try if your initial update attempt was through OTA is to try connecting and updating your phone using Ovi Suite.
If that does not work then you may need to hard reset your phone but there are various issues with that at the moment, such as losing your data uinless you have a backup and other options such as the lost of some functionality which at the moment can only be restored by reinstalling Qt or by a Nokia Care Point.

E72 Camera issue (black screen)

Hi everyone, I am having a problem with the camera in my E72. When I try to use it, it givesme a blank, black screen (no image is visisble as through the lens). Although the right hand side of menu does appear on screen if I press the button, nothing can be selected. It is as if the camera application gets hanged.
I recently updated firmware that resolved the issue. However, it was hardly for 2-3 days and it came back and am unable to use camera again.
Anyone faced same issue, or tried something to resolve it?

The "Ultimate Solution" is not the hard reset because i tried it with the "bloated other files" problem and this camera issue, and it didnt cure the problem.
I just got the headsup from Nokia Care Point that my device couldnt be fixed in a reasonable time so am being sent a replacement. so i'll advice if your device is still warranty covered, then send it to a Nokia Care Point.
The Engineers couldnt fix it in two weeks so its obvious even a software revamp wont fix it, let alone a hard reset.

My N82 just freezed in Black screen at started

I’ve been having a problem with my N82 since last 2 weeks, I’ve tried everything and it still has the problem. Know I want to do the hard reset but the problem is that the phone does not turn on, when I press the on/off button to turn it on it stays on a black screen with all the lights on and the only way to turn the lights off is to take out the battery. I’ve tried press 3+*+green button to turn it but doesn’t work.,i've updated to a new FirmWire but it's still , please help me

I bought mine in Dec 2007 for $500. Handled it very carefuly. No water or knocks. Upgraded thru all firmware to the latest. In may 2009, it spontaneously froze with its screen turning black with backlight on. In the first service, the Nokia service franchisee charged me for an LCD and filter replacement though they had merely reflashed the phone . Since then, it has gone to the nokia service centre 5 times. Every time it was send to the so called higher level service centre which took two weeks to just reflash (apparently) the phone. However the problem re-appeared with in 1-7 days. I had tried using it without memory card with and out any change in the default settings after receiveing it from Nokia care. For a 3/4 times after I receive it from service centre, the problem can be rectified by re-inserting the battery.
Now they have told me that this phone cannot be repaired as it motherboard may have become faulty and I should throw it in the bin. At max they are just willing to refund the earlier charges. I have refused to take back the delivery so far.
This defect is well documented on the net. What kind of company tells a user of one of their highest end phone to bin the product after 1.5 years because they are incapable of rectifying a clear manufacturing defect?
Can some one guide me to forum where such thing would be highlited more so that other users can be warned about the callous behavior of Nokia.

E52 with "black screen"

I have a pretty new E52 (3 month old), which suddenly decided to present a "black screen". When I try to start it, it just give a buzz.
I've tried to take out the memorycard but it didn't help.
I think I need to update the phone with firmware, but I can't get access to the phone even with Nokia software updater.
Do any of you know how to update/reset the E52 without being able to swich it on?

You could try the deep reset, but you will lose all your data unless you already have a backup.
Before you try the deep reset, try removing the battery for at least 5 minutes and then replace and see if that makes any difference.
Then try the "3 finger deep reset". With the phone powered off, depress and hold these three keys simultaneously "*" "3" "green phone" and then power on phone using the on/off button whilst keeping the three keys depressed until you hear start-up tone.
This should ONLY be done if the device doesn't power up normally anymore and it wipes everything in the Phone memory that is not part of the ROM.

E5 youtube black screen

When I connect to inernet and go on youtbe it doesn't play the screen is black somehow it doesn't load the video and before it worked fine... I have deleted all the cookies, privet data etc. Don't know what to do please help thanks.

I've just downloaded opera mini on my nokia e72 but I still have this problem. In opera I don't even see a black screen there is no video at all???
I think it had something to do with flash player because on other sites where there is supose to be a video or something like that there is a weird adobe flash player icon.
I never had this problem and I already did a software update and also a reset. Nothing works.

You can try to perform the soft reset again. If this would fail, below hardware key reset combination is what I can suggest. This deletes all the personal content of the phone.
Option 2: Hardware key combination
Use this option if the phone fails to fully switch on when pressing the power on key.
Note: No warning about data loss!

Make sure the charger is disconnected.
1. Switch the power Off.
2. Press and hold the Volume down and connect the charger, if succeed an exclamation mark (!) is shown on the screen.

most of the times when i turn my N82 on, i only get a Black screen and keypad light...i found the only way to turn on phone when it's happen is to remove battery and shake phone !!! .. well i don't know why but it works! .. 16month ago a drop my N82 in water ... i don't know it's related to this or not.. also some times when my phone is working normally again i get a black screen and keypad light .. the only way to turn off the phone is to remove battery. also when this happen when I'm listening to music . i get a continuously beep with the black screen, but when I'm listening to FM Radio. radio continue to play normally while i get back screen ( after 30 secs it turns off ), also network operator say my phone is out of reach when i get black screen, after 30 secs, it says it's turned off. also my phone is out of warranty and i don't access to Nokia Care Center
can some one describe what should i do ?

The effects of water damage is highly unpredictable but one thing that is certain is the fact that it's days are numbered even if you manage to get it working after drying it out.
Damage post water ingress is usually due to corrosion of the electronic parts and only gets worse with time. You managed to get 16 months out of it and that is way more than most. Since this is a hardware issue, it is not something we can help you with here. It is not like we can tell you to change settings or reset the software. You could try bringing it to a Nokia Care Point, but the repair will likely exceed the cost of a replacement.
My suggestion is to backup your phone regularly and invest in a replacement soon.

ooooooooops so sorry about this, here it goes and start with the first code.
With all these operations I recommend you TAKE OUT MEMORY CARD and DO A BACK UP OF YOUR STUFF!!!
1. *#7780# - Restore factory settings - resets all the settings to the default ( you will not lose any data)
Make sure you back up your data as you will lose all of it when you perform option 2 or 3 on this list. The default code for ALL operations listed here is 12345
2. *#7370# - Reformat your phone (out of the box, tho keep in mind that most newer nokia phones at least n series, e series and s60 based phones have udp - user data preservation so not ALL data may be lost. still it is a good idea to always do a back up of your stuff.)
3. This you perform as a last resort. Nothing else is working.If the phone is not showing any activity, proceed with hard formatting , turn off your phone, hold the following buttons while pressing the power button. (the default code is 12345)
hard reset - hold the following buttons *, 3 (number button) and talk/green key. turn on the phone and do not release those buttons until you see the Nokia boot up screen. once you feel the phone power up you can let go off the power button while still holding all three buttons ( for Nokia 5800XM - use the following buttons to do a hard reset, GREEN/RED/CAMERA keys pressed all at once on power up. this will only work on 5800's that have firmware version 20... and up. ) For Nokia N97 (unofficial version but works) is SHIFT /SPACE BAR / BACKSPACE while holding the power button. Again do not let go until you see the handshake screen.
If these codes are not working the only thing for you to do is contact your Nokia Care Center/Service for assistance.

Nokia 5800XM screen goes CRAZY!

My Nokia 5800 XM had this problem, a weird problem. First my phone battery only have 2 bars left. Then decide to charge the phone (phone switched off before charging), then when I connected the charger to my phone & start charging. Then again after about 3 or 4 hours of charging the screen display a NOKIA logo which is normally when the phone charging begins & the battery bars raise up many times. Then after that I looked at my phone back, suddenly when I want to switch ON, the phone also normally display NOKIA logo, then I waited it LONG.................TIME to display the home screen BUT NOTHINGS HAPPEND! untill 6 - 8 hours also NOTHINGS HAPPEND. Just like I sayed just now IT ONLY DISPLAY NOKIA LOGO. I think you guys wait untill you all DIED also it will only display NOKIA LOGO. Sometimes the screen display a black screen and some glowing colors (red,orange,green,blue,pink,purple,yellow - are displayed in lines glowing). Weird :-0

Hey dude!!! I know your Nokia 5800 XpressMusic pain killer!!! I had the same prob as u, when I switch my phone on, just Nokia logo appears & nothing happens, there are 2 ways to cure ur phone! 1st. before switching ur phone on, remove the Memory Card & then turn on ur phone. It 100 persent works but when u turn ur phone on again, the same prob appears again!!! 2nd. is before turning ur phone on, change ur Simcard & then switch ur phone on!!! I know it sounds silly but imazingly it works!!! After u switch ur phone on, ur phone will work nice & then u can change ur simcard again & put ur favorite one into & always work without any prob!!! Nokia 900, screen freezes cannot reboot, etc and o...

I am now on my 2nd 900. I bought one back on May 4th. Within a couple of weeks, the screen would freeze up. You could still hear/use the voice command, but no matter how you tried, you could not reset (hard or soft) and the screen would just stay like that, time not changing, etc. for a couple of hours.
I went back to AT&T and it unfroze itself while I was there. It was frozen for over 2 hours. It did it again and again. On June 10th, I spent over 2 hours on AT&T and then Nokia's tech support line (using another phone to call) they only suggested totally wiping it out and starting again, not what I'd consider a viable solution.
Last week, it did it one more time and I took it to a different AT&T store and they (for the first time) suggested I get it replaced and called tech support for me. Despite massive documentation on how often the phone had frozen up and calls, emails, in persons, to tech support since I had gotten it, Nokia was only willing to send me a refurbished model (over 30 days, nobody suggested I return it before). This time the phone was frozen for over 3 hours and when it came back up, it had lost all data for the past week (including a very important test result from the NIH). Later that evening, all the texts and data reappeared.
The new to me phone arrived yesterday and since there is apparently no backup and restore option, I spent most of yesterday making it look like the one I was returning. Today, this one locked up again, I went back to
AT&T who just shrugged. It was frozen for 40 minutes.
The only consistency I can see is MOST of the freezes come after I've received a text message. As I said, the phone will continue to 'talk' to me and take commands, but nothing works, none of the buttons, etc.
I have no idea what to do at this point, I totally have no faith in this phone or even Nokia at this point and I'm apparently 'stuck' with it for the 2 years of my contract.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Also, if anyone knows where the underscore character on the keyboard is, that would be a nice feature (don't even get me going on the lack of apps, and no sound in PowerPoint)!!

Today is Sept 21, 2013. My 15 month old Nokia 900 windows phone will not start. I really liked it.
Reading some of the threads I realize now that I was lucky to have it last this long.
The phone will not start, cycles through vibrate, black screen, white/lightblue screen, nokia screen, then Rethink possible AT&T screen where it stays or recycles around again. Sometimes I get the battery screen with low in the red. I tried all the recomended fixes that I could find here and at Nokia site. No luck.
My phone was fully charged yesterday morning before and was barely used yesterday.
Screen locked last night. Shut it down and then restarted and then the above mentioned problem and would not start.
All of these problems are document on this discussionand Nokia web site but no real solution.
Have tried most of the things suggested on the web site except the wipe out data reboot.
If I did that and it works I might as well get a new phone.
Not so easy to back up your data/info with the Nokia windows phone versus say the Samsung
1. lost photos - luckily I do not use it that much
2. lost videos - not that great
3. music - can rebuild
3. Lost apps - all free ones luckily
4. Will have restore/rebuild address/phone book from my last save (unfortunately that was May) and many changes
5. Lesson learned back everything up more often on a regular basis.
6. Never used it for email - so that will not be a problem
But what a pain. And I do not have a phone.
Will be calling Nokia on Monday - wish me luck. My expectations are very low.
Went to the AT&T store today. One gal tried to help but basically the same things I had tried.
Then the blame game. Nokia knew plenty of problems etc, newers models ie 920 are better, but if you check this web site plenty of the other models have these problems
I had a Blackberry for 5 years and it always worked even after much abuse. Even at the end when it crashed, I could remove the battery - hard reboot - and it always started and functioned again. Plus the Blackberry had great software to syncrcronize and/or save. But Blackberry did not keep up with the times.
Attraction of a smart phone was too great. Got the Nokia 900 - Nokia's attempt to catch up with the times. With so many reports of similarly painful problems, I will no longer be recommending the Nokia phones. Nokia will probably be going the way of Blackberry - downward. Too little too late and lots of problems. Shame as I liked the functionality of the phone and ability to have multiple things opened with AT&T network. Really not AT&T's fault that Nokia phone did not last.
But a real pain in the butt now. An body with any alternative solutions let me know.
