Nokia E5 Email problems

For several months I have been able to use the email facility for Yahool (BTInternet)
using the following settings and via Wifi.
I/C Mail Server plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com    Port 995 (default) SSL enabled and
O/G Mail Server plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com  Port 465 (default) SSL enabled.
Like I say this has always worked first time every time for my main and sub-address accounts except for the last month.
I sporadically get 'unable to log-in message'.
If I try later it will work.
It is extremely random as to when I am successful or not - there is no pattern to it.
I have done all the phone resets and rebuilt all the email settings time and time again.
My Wifi works fine so it is down to either the phone or Yahoo.
Am I alone with this problem?

Then I guess that's your only option.
This kind of "login pages" using the web may be convenient for a one-off web browsing session in a hotel or so, but if you want to use a WLAN regularly, you need a "real" one, i.e. one that supports standard authentication systems.
I would never expect Nokia (or any other brand) to support such kind of **bleep** authentication systems, as they are not standardized.

I HAVE THIS PHONE FOR A WEEK AND I AM GOING TO THROW IT AT THE WALL.  The main reason I bought it was for facebook and email facilities.  I can get on to facebook no problem but email keeps saying cannot connect and it says offline in the top left hand corner.  I have pressed so many buttons at this stage | dont actually remember what I have done.  I went to store where I bought it and the girl said something about codes etc.  It made no sense to me.  I went back and a different girl said i had to download the ovi suite, I did that too and still no show.  I am begining to hate this phone. It doesnt do exactly what it says on the tin!

  • Nokia Push Email Problems

I am using Nokia E63, where i have downloaded Nokia Push Email software from Nokia Email Website, after downloading i am trying to configure my Gmail Email A/c but i am not able to configure it, and it give error message or it hacks my phone.
GPRS on my phone is working, and i am able to visit other site also on my E63.
please help me to solve my problem as i want to urgenly configure and access my email on my E63.
    Thanks
    Dharmang Shah

I'm sure someone can help you better than I can, but I will say that I do have Nokia Messaging working well with Gmail on my E63---but over 3G.  It never seems to work that well when all I get is a GPRS connection.  But this may be my network (3 UK) which highly depreciates all non 3G traffic.  I don't know.  (You do get data, right?  I mean you can browse the web over your connection?) If I remember right, I can get it to work over WiFi as well.  Push email doens't work so well in this case, since I wouldn't normally stay always in WiFi range, so it's not a long term solution.  But getting anything to work with your Gmail account is a start.
I suspect by Nokia Push email you mean "Nokia Messaging" (which is probably what you want) and not "Mail for Exchange" (which is probably not what you want) , but you don't specify.  I would say:  spend some time googling for good instructions.  Try them carefully (again), and then report back exactly what you did, what you expected and what in fact happened.  You request is at the moment too inspecific for anyone to offer anything but the most vague of suggestions.

  • Nokia C3 Email Problem

    Hi
I bought a new Nokia C3 two weeks before. From the first day onwards i am trying to login to my personal mail throough the inbuilt mail application. But I got an error message like 'Communication Error. Try Latter'.But I was able to take my mail throght browser.I gave my hand set to nokia care and they reinstalled the software.Again I got the the same message and they told it may be the problem with the nokia server and will be OK with in two days.In between I communicated nokia support and they also told the same reason. Yesterday I contacted the nokia support and one technical guy named Sachin attended my call. He asked me to create an account in Nokia Mail with my personel mail id through the portal http://email.nokia.com/acount.
As per his instruction I visited the above portal but I couldnt find my hadset Nokia C3-00 in the list of supported handset. In the list I couldnt find a handset which use S40 platform like Nokia C3.
Now my question is Will my handset support Nokai Message?.
Then Why I am not able to login to my personel mail even after two weeks of discussion with nokia tech team.
I bought this handset for using my mail in moble. But I am really worried about this issue.
Even after spending this much effort and time I didnt get any correct support from nokia.

i am having same problem. But I am able to access my mail by using GPRS. If you selected WIFI connection, it will say "communication error, try it late". I am able to use browser to log on email account. I have post my problem here /t5/Connectivity/C3-00-can-t-use-WIFI-to-connect-email/td-p/960927
    I am very disappointing...

  • Nokia E72 email problem

Has anyone got any ideas why my new Nokia E72 will not exchange with my tiscali email addresses.
If the phone is not connected to tiscali, mail to the laptop is normal.
If the phone is connected to tiscali, all my messages are hidden and I do not get mail on the phone.
if I switch my laptop OFF I can get messages on the phone normally.
Its a choice of phone or laptop, I dont seem to be able get both at the same time
they are pop3 accounts on windows XP, passwords are aligned, as I said, if either is switch OFF the other works fine, so settings ARE good. they just wont both work at the same time.
    something is incompatible.

didnt know you had to, thanks I will check.
any idea if I can do that online, waiting for talktalk to answer phones is a nightmare

  • Nokia Email Problems and Version 10?

    Hi All Nokia People
I have an E66 supplied by Vodafone UK.
I run Nokia email which has been working fine up until the last couple of months.
It is set to store emails up to 1 month, but recently it deleted all emails within a month and left a lot over a month old.
Then it removed everything, and now after doing a software and reinstalling Nokia Email it will only store 3 days even though it is set to remove older than 1 month.
Also I have seen version 10 for Symbian S60v5 is available, when will this be available for general download and more specifically my E66?

    Hi there.
After dealing with every kind of email problems for about two weeks, I finally solved my issue.
I was carefully watching the imap session logs to understand the problem. I realized all my sessions with my phone was unauthorized. It was stupid and impossible as I imported the server certificate to the phone... But, everything is buggy and possible.
Ok, all my "suddenly stopped connecting", "oh does it support IMAP idle", "nothing is wrong with the great nokia, blame your server", "can't connect email", "does it support imap", "what's wrong with my pop account", "do i have to share my mail password with nokia through email.nokia.com", "what's the difference between native email support and nokia messaging" issues are gone with that.
I deleted the certificate! Since you got it, it doesn't matter whether you delete the mailbox (account) on the phone or not. It stays in the security module of the phone. So, go and delete it first. Then, accept it again on your next connection...
For my E55 device I went to:
Menu -> Control Panel -> Settings -> General -> Security -> Certificate management -> Trusted site certificates
and deleted the certificate for the server I typed for "incoming email server" when I set my account. You'll probably recognize the name of it.
I hope this will help to many out there.

  • My nokia / ovi / signed email problem and system f...

first, I've many problem on ovi-service that I try to talk to local nokia care but problems still exist. so, this is my attempt to directly contact nokia staff or nokia-veterian who may can help me out.
second, I'm sorry for my poor english.
I'm new to ovi. I'd signed to both my nokia (sms tips) and ovi service.
the latest situation is yesterday my browser returned "bad requests" message when I signed-in to ovi.com account.I tried solutions provided in this discussions board such as..
    /discussions/board/message?board.id=ovi&message.id=2248&query.id=1088013#M2248
but it didn't work. I tried others too. and I got frustrated and thought that my auto shared account on "my-nokia" and "ovi" service may corrupt or inconsistence.
then today I decided to terminate my original account and start new one (where the page said to lock that account name for 6 months).
it's ok to create new account with new username ( sad for my original used name "sleepyfurious" | the new one is "sleepy-ovi"). but when I sign up at my-nokia with my new username, it said my IMEI is used.
can i get my-nokia to use with my phone?
as I told that i'm new to ovi so I'v not much information contained then it's even better if I can clear up all my data to create new fresh account with my original name.
where or who can help me to achieve this?
another problem is I bought new nokia 6720 classic and it's firmware is updated (012.008/22-jun-2009). why I can't even access "store.ovi.com". It's said  device is not compatible to the phone that come together with ovi store service suggested in the box.
I just want to try to get some downloadable content via ovistore so I may continue with buying content or developing one and distribute it on the store in the future. ..it's failed at start.
Can I do something to make use of the service?
I'm poor in English. I am apologize if the words or sentence above is bad, too strong or hurt reader.
    hopefully,
    sincerly,
    sincere customer.

    sorry for too long post
6720 classic - ovi store problem move here :
    /discussions/board/message?board.id=ovi&thread.id=2299
If it still really not compatible. It's ok i'll wait.

  • Nokia Messenging email prob

I recently reinstalled Nokia messenger onto my X6 and the UI has disapeared.  Instead all I'm getting is the standard x6 email program even though I have actually downloaded the nokia messenging email app from OVI.
Is this normal?  Can anyone suggest a reason why I'm not getting the actual UI that I used to have when I've had this app on my phone previously?  Or can anyone point me in the right direction for a decent email app with a good looking UI with all the fuctionality of a good email client.
    Many thanks.

  • Nokia 2730 email setup

    Hello,
I've got a brain new 2730 and I can't setup the emai. My provider is using self signed CA certificate, so I can't connect to the IMAP server, because the certificate. Do you have any suggestions how to import the certificate ?
    Thnaks in advance !

Sure! After almost 3 months and more than 20 emails from me to Nokia Support I've got the answer! Here it is:
"We would like to inform you that after all the attempts to find a proper solution to your problem, we found out that our CCDS server can not support SSL/TSL security."
I'ts interesting because I didn't know that this problem is mine.Hey Nokia - the problem it's not mine. It's yours. It's a problem with your phones! I never had a Nokia phone before and I'm not going to buy a Nokia phone again not because the email problem itself, but because the support. This is the most incompetent support which I ever met - they are lazy, they are without technical education, they event don't know how to use a computer! Hell, I'm not joking I can show you those emails, so you can see what I'm talking about! Those guys don't have a phone or don't want to use it which is strange for company which sells phones! I asked to contact them using phone, to explain how to test/reproduce the problem, because obviously the explanation in my emails was too complicated for them.
Anyway, the answer is simple. You've got a phone from 4 quoter on 2009 and you can't use IMAP with SSL/TLS! It's a shame because my old Motorola V3 which is a model from 2004 support this! I'm really upset because I spend a lot of my free time on that, thinking they are going to fix the problem but no - this is Nokia.

  • E7-00 Intermittent email problem

The email on my E7-00 works for a couple of days, then is out for a day then comes back and so on... I am not using Nokia Ovi email and I only have one email account. It is not very likely it is an operator problem as the email flows without problems to my PC all the time and this has been going on for two weeks. I have already erased the email account and set it up again but it does not help.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The problem was both receiving and sending. I  t h i n k  (hope) the problem is now solved. It appears, that when you create an email account other than the Nokia Ovi email you should refuse to accept the standard conditions and then the phone is freer to adopt the settings belonging to the account you are setting up. At least now it has been working for 48 hours.
Incidentally, the Instructions for Use (128 pages downloadable from the Nokia web site) do not tell you how to erase the email account, nor do they tell you how to find the folders in your email account. You just have to press various buttons long and see what happens...This is not a learning process all consumers are prepared to live with...

    Hi shadabaj
please tell me , where you setup your mail?
Because if you setup your mail in the regular Messaging , what happened with you is expected, but if you are using Nokia Messaging Email , then check your connection and settings.

  • Email problems with BB synched via BES. No email notifications and can't send replies.

This isn't a question, but more of a public service announcement for those like myself that manage to screw up their email settings. I recently had problems with my email in that I would not get audible or visual notifications of new email and I couldn't send replies although I could forward and create new emails. The problem is that I am using Desktop Manager on two PCs and only one is configured to access my corporate email account, the one that is redirected to the BB. The default settings of my Desktop Manager installation was to synchronize the device date and time automatically when connected to the PC. Connecting my BB to my home machine would cause the email problems. I had to wipe and reactivate to fix my problems.
So, if you want to use the BB on two PCs and one is not configured for the email account going to the phone... disable the auto synchronization option BEFORE connecting the device to that machine and launching Desktop Manager. It would also be nice if the Desktop Manager installer had an option to install on a PC that is used for backup/recovery and application loading only. The installer had two options IIRC and your choice was that the BB is used with BES or with a personal email account.

Internally, your invites are processed by the server.
If an outside sends a new invite to you, the server doesn't know about it until you add the event to your calendar app.
You'll find settings in Mail and Calendar apps (depending on client OS) to automatically add invites to the Calendar.
    So to sum it up.
Internal users, processed in real-time directly by the server
External invites, must be processed by the client app, and depending on OS/Settings, could require manually adding or acknowleding. Also.. in 10.7/10.8 you will see an inbox tray in the Calendar app, your invites may show up there (and you'll need to click to ack)
    Hope that helps.

Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server - requires SSL:
    imap.gmail.com
    Use SSL: Yes
    Port: 993
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - requires TLS:
    smtp.gmail.com (use authentication)
    Use Authentication: Yes
Use STARTTLS: Yes (some clients call this SSL)
    Port: 465 or 587
    Account Name:
your full email address (including @gmail.com) Google Apps users, please enter username@your_domain.com
    Email Address:
your full Gmail email address ([email protected]) Google Apps users, please enter username@your_domain.com
    Password:
    your Gmail password
    The Quick Answer
Follow the instructions below to set up IMAP1 access in most email clients.
Google Apps users, please follow the default instructions unless otherwise noted, replacing 'your_domain.com' with your actual domain2 name.
this is all greek to me. WHAT IS STARTTLS? On the first page of Apple set up there is a TLS certificate and it is marked NONE- should I change it to the long APPLE CERT option?  The next page under ADVANCED: THERE IS A BOX SSL MARKED.  Then IMAP Path Prefix - I put stmp.gmail.com.. is that right?  Port 993 can  use this one? as 456 doesn't work and 587 said it wasn't safe.  Under AUTHENTICATION I used PASSWORD.  Should I have used external client cert TLS?
Please help me set this up securely. Thanks
