Nokia E51 firmware problem.

Hello. I have a problem with my E51. I`v used the Nokia Software Updater and update the firmware to 400.34.011. And now the problems: when i type the code *#0000# that little window doesn`t appear or when i type *#90720623# to see the life timer, again, that lil` window doesn`t appear. I have problems when i call, the phone loses signal...it`s working harder...etc. What can i do ?
If someone here is from Romania, can you post in romanian ? It`s easy for me to understand. Tks

Dont worry about it.There are 2 ways to solve your problem:
1. *#7370# - Reformat your phone. (Try it and check whether it can work. If the first method can not work, try the second one)
2. Just use Nokia Software Update to reinstall the fireware.

I have read about the "new" vodafone firmware 150.... but also read that it has a lots of bugs, Vodafone stuff ....

where did you read 150.34 has bugs .
Can you tell which and what line of bugs?
Mine stuck at 100.34.20.keeps rebooting now and them.i dont think there can be a bigger bug.
Can anybody give even a probable theory for vodafone firmware coming and unbranded firmware not coming.

NOkia N93i Firmware problem

Hi guys,
I am trying to update the firmware on my Nokia N93i, i have dowloaded the software update from the Nokia website and begin the installation, i follow the insructions on the screen, when the installation of the new software for the phone begins the progress bar does not seem to move, i then get a pop up from the nokia pc suite saying the phone has been disconnected from the pc and then i get told that the procedure has failed and to remove the battery from the phone and replace it and turn back on to try again.
No matter how many times i do this i get the same result,
Any ideas how i can stop this and get the firmware updated?

I am having the same problem as you are... and i have used the software updater before and it worked... i think that there is a little problem with this new version...

Nokia 6730c firmware problem

After firmware update I cant open contacts, they are stored in my sim card, everything works when my sim is in another phone, but when I put in my 6730c, I cant use contacts, when people are calling me, I can see whos calling, same with sms. Also after that update I noticed ovi adress book, I think this is related somehow, so please make some kind of fix (new firmware update), I've heared that other people has the same problem.

You can have contacts in your SIM card and in your phone memory. You can view and use the contacts simultaneously from both options, or you can choose to use just one of the alternatives.
To adjust which contacts you want to see:
In Contacts, select Options > Settings.
Scroll to Contacts to display and select Change. Mark the desired contact in:
Phone memory
SIM memory
Service numbers
Press OK.
You can also choose the default saving memory for saving phone numbers:
In Contacts, select Options > Settings.
Scroll to Default saving memory. Select Change. Choose from Phone memory or SIM memory.
Press OK.
Transferring the contacts for the first time when inserting the SIM card
When you open the contacts list for the first time, the device asks if you want to copy names and numbers from the SIM card to your device.
To start copying, select OK. If you do not want to copy the contacts from the SIM card to your device, select Cancel.
The device asks if you want to view the SIM card contacts in the contacts directory. To view the contacts, select OK. The contacts list opens, and the names stored on your SIM card are indicated with the SIM card symbol.
Copying contacts between SIM card and phone memory
You can copy single or several contacts from the SIM card to your phone memory and vice versa.
To copy contacts:
Scroll to the contact you want to copy, and select Options.
If you want to copy a single contact, select Copy. Now you can choose the destination you want to copy the contact to.
If you want to copy several contacts, select Mark/Unmark and Mark to choose the contacts,or Mark all. The chosen contacts are displayed with a mark. Select Options >Copy again, and select the destination you want to copy the contacts to.

Nokia 5500 firmware problem: gallery

Though updated to its latest firmware version, my nokia 5500 is not functioning properly: Gallery doesn't recognize (any) files from my memory card and neither can the audiofiles located on the memory card be selected as ringtones.. Is there a way to make this work ..? I reinstalled the firmware once, nut it had no effect at all..

take out the battery for few mintues put it back power on the phone and try refreshing your library again and the gallery. see if it helps

Nokia E51 Messaging problem

Please can someone help me, I have rung Nokia and tried to resolve this but after 2 hrs the guy gave up and the problem still exists.
When I go to create a New Message, I follow the correct steps, Messaging-New Message-Create Text Message- I Highlight the "To" field, then I select Options-Add Recipient, this takes me to the Contacts list and here the problem arises,,,,,,usually I would highlight the persons name then click on OPTIONS to use the feature to add the name to the Text Message's "To" field,,,,,,,,,the problem is the OPTIONS has disappeared, it is just not there, it has always been then but then just up and went.
Can someone help me with this problem. The Tech I spoke to had me reset the phone using the *#7380# combo then I had to enter a code. Anyway it did not work.
At this point I feel like using the phone as flying projectile.

Thank you for your reply, I rechecked what the tech had me do and the first time he had me use *#7780# 12345, this reset the phone not losing any data, but it did not restore the missing icon.(he called this a soft reboot)
He then gave me *#7370#12345, this he called a hard reboot....by the time he gave me this second code I had had enough just about 2hrs on the phone.
Later in the day I tried the hard reboot and it did restore everything, lost my data etc, but I didn't have that much on it anyway.
My point to him was if he did not know how to fix the problem then he could of told me at the get go, not 2 hrs later after he had tried so many things, and the language problem did not help as he was not of this country.

It is not possible for you to roll back updates. However, you could try resetting the phone.
Always remember to backup your phone before performing resets as your data may be lost.
First try these
*#7780# - Restore factory settings - resets all the settings to the default
*#7370# - Reformat your phone
If the above two don't work then try try the "3 finger deep reset" which is depress these three keys simultaneously "*" "3" "green phone" and then power on phone whilst keeping those same three keys depressed until you hear start-up tone.
This wipes everything in the Phone memory that is not part of the ROM.

Problem with nokia e51 plugin installation

hey guys!
i have a problem concerning the installation of the plugin for the usage of the nokia e51 with apple isync. (nokia_e51_1v1.dmg)
i have mac osx 10.4.11 and isync 2.4.
when i tried to install the plugin i got the message that i have to upgrade to the latest version of isync using apple software update. i am a little bit confused cause my system actually matchs the requirements for the installation.
at the nokia website is stated that the minimum requirements are max osx 10.4.9 and isync 2.4 to use the plugin.
could somebody please help!?

i have the answer to the problem. i had moved the isync application into a subfolder. after i had removed the application into the application main folder the installation worked.

Nokia E90 firmware battery problem

Hi! I updated last week my E90 to the latest firmware. Until then, my battery lasted for more than 3 days. Now, my battery lasts for only 18-20 hours when I do not make any phone call. I do not have any bluetooth or WI-FI scanner activated. I do not know what is happened. I think it is a firmware problem. Are you going to fix it?

I had the same problem too: after installing the new firmware my battery lasted for max 24 hours, even when in standby and no calls made.
I reinstalled the firmware 48 hours ago after a full charge and the battery still is full now!!
What you need to do, in order to be able to reinstall the firmware, is downloading the latest Nokia Software Updater software. This enables you, after the message from the updater that you already have the latest firmware, to reinstall it. As I noticed already, it worked for me.

Nokia N96 30.033 firmware Problems And Errors....

Hi guys,
I have updated my N96 software to 30.033.
I have noticed some problems which are
1) GPS is not working?
2) Ringtone quality is not good ( Overall Speaker Quality is not good after update)
3) There is No facebook.
4) Phone gets switch off automatically.
5) Music player, videoplayer, Camera is very slow.
6) overall phone working is very slow.
The main issue is GPS not working.
Please some one help on GPS.
I hope Nokia Update Developer will read this review and they will launch a new update to solve these issues very soon with all modifications.

hey friend's and nokia !! i m very disappoint from nokia that nokia has forget to update the firmware of it's beloved nokia N96. near to Christmas and new year nokia release firmware updates of his almost all handsets and i was too expecting same for N95 and nokia N82 for his oldies ... i m still in wait that nokia is going to so anything ... but i want to ask why nokia had done such bad with nokia n96... even i m using my phone from last more than 1 year and i had fully upgrade it. and after using it from a long time i had found that more improvements should be there which are necessarily required..... i m having unbranded nokia n96 i had updated it with latest available firmare v30.033 but nothing happen it's more creapy ... so slow .. even video ringtones didn't work after activation of audio themes i had download the audio themes from nokia.com and installed them and using them after that video ringtone stop and when i recive a call it plays default nokia tone. very slow to operate i had added more then 50 bookmarks in my nokia n96 when i try to open multiple pages more then 3 phone start hanging. and tool a long time on reboot .. please make it as god as currently running nokia n95 last ver. i had reset reformat 3 keyfrmat every possibility i can do with my nokia i had done even i thought that the firmware is not upgraded well so i took it to nokia care and told them everything they suggest me for a refomat and reinstallation of firmware so they done that but nothing happen. even i m having more than 2000 sms in my inbox and when a new message arrives and when i try to open it it took around 1-2 min. to open. previously i had configured my mail box also then due to so slow resopnce in message opening i remove it. and the speed got little bit better but not up to the mark .. definately it neesd a firmware upgrade ... please nokia make it done ASAP. so please update me when it's going to be happen ... or i have to cry for a long ... u can revert me on or even contact on @ i'll be glad if u revert me ......

Nokia E90 firmware download problem

Hi - I'm trying to update my Nokia E90 firmware from 210.34.75 to 300.34.84 and the 81.9MB file downloads perfectly (in under 3 minutes) until it gets to 60.3MB and then stops. Any ideas? I've un-installed the entire PC Suite and its add-ons, an no luck. Any ideas? Thanks, Ian.

I also had trouble downloading the software upgrade (from version 7.xx to version 300.34.84) for my E90. I tried three times before it actually begun to download - upon which, the download and upgrade went by successfully. I agree that the upgrade - even from my very old/early firmware - was almost completely pointless. Some of the trouble I'm having now is with the Download! folder, specifically the Applications subfolder - it does not update it's context - actually, it's totally unaccessible. Also, the Windows Live Application no longer works - and I'm unable to download a fresh copy.
I backed up all the data on the phone prior to the firmware upgrade - as required for the retention of software certificates and data.
Symbian connected me to the world, to my dreams.. Thank-you Nokia

Nokia E51 iSync with MacBook OS 10.4.11 problems now when never before

I've been happily syncing my Nokia E51 via iSync with my MacBook running OS X Tiger 10.4.11 for probably a year. Now all of a sudden it refuses to sync & the phone says "system error" as soon as I try to connect via Bluetooth.
I've downloaded the latest plugin, everything is up to date as recommended.
I've tried deleting the phone from Bluetooth & re-adding it again, ditto with the iSync software. Nothing seems to work.
Anyone got any ideas? I desperately want to backup all the phone numbers on my phone onto my computer in case I lose it.
