Nokia Lumia 610 How to turn off all data roaming ...

I've read in other forums that it's not enough to turn off data roaming.  Apparently apps that use the internet will turn roaming back on in Windows phones.  Can anyone offer a complete and definitive list of instructions for turning roaming off abroad?  I would prefer to be able to access wifi hotspots so don't want to simply turn on airplane mode.  Thanks.

Could you let us know which forum and what apps?

  • Turning off all data roaming?

    Hi guys,
I'm going abroad this Friday and I want to make absolutely sure that even if someone opens Safari on my iPhone, that it won't connect to Edge over there because I don't want to pay the ridiculous data charges.
Does anyone know how I can do this?

    Settings => General => Network
    Ensure Data Roaming is Off.
It won't access data services when abroad. It will notify you if you try to telling you it is off.

  • How to turn off all data connections?

    hi
im have an N95 8gb on o2 and im happy to let it connect to o2 as often as it can via O2 active/web as im on an unlimited data plan...however i go to the USA once a week and even though i disconnect the data connection, sometimes i look at the phone and it has connected overseas, meaning a huge roaming data charge, is there anyway i can set it to never connect then manually change it back when im in the UK again
    thanks

Most applications allow you to set the way it accesses the network (E.G. When Needed, or when available) also under Tools->Settings->COnnection->Packet data you can select this.
Also you have to do it for each individual application like Email, Maps, Browser or other ones you may have.
640K Should be enough for everybody

What happens if you select both the grunge and the image and in the Transparency flyout tick Make Opacity Mask? You may try different ticking/unticking and colours.

  • How to turn off all "bells" in mavericks

    Hi..
I want mavericks to act like snow leopard. I have 7 macs in my house and my favorite one is my studio computer running snow leopard.
Last night i had to restart my MBP to get it to connect to the network...
Since snow leopard apple has added nothing but pure bloat to the OS and I want to get rid of all of it.
I don't want my computer connecting to facebook with me doing it, I don't wnat it checking my twitter, I don't want it updating my calendar for me (which it feels it needs to do every 60 seconds). I don't want my computer doing all the background crap that it does. I just want it to do the things I tell it to do.
Does anyone know of any tutuorials out there to remove all of the "automated" bells and whistles that came after SL?
    Thanks so much!!

Reinstall the backup of your Snow Leopard System you made before you installed Mavericks.Obviously Mavericks does not meet your requirements, but you cannot just hack away at an OSX because it will become less and less stable. You can try turning off all notifications and whatever else you refer to as cr*p, but you just can't trash anything in the OSX because it doesn't suit you. You chose to download and install it, you can also choose to go back to Snow Leopard with your backup.
    14. How do I restore my entire system?

  • How to turn off all colour management?

I need to have Photoshop show me an image without any colour management at all.
However, no matter what settings I try the image in Photoshop always looks different to the same image opened in a program that is not ICC complient.
This is causing me serious problems.
What do I need to do to turn off all ICC management?

The quickest way is to choose View - Proof Setup in Photoshop and just select Monitor RGB.  When View - Proof Colors is selected, you will see unaltered data, as Photoshop is being told that the image should be viewed as though its profile is the same as the monitor's profile.
However, it is not difficult to get Photoshop to send unaltered values from an sRGB document to your display without using Proof viewing.  My system is set up this way as I have my video card tables and monitors set up to accurately show sRGB.
    Here's how:
    1.  Start the Windows 7 control panel Color Management function, Devices tab, and uncheck [ ] Use my settings for this device.
    2.  In the Advanced tab, ensure that Windows Color System Defaults is System default (sRGB IEC61966-2.1).
Voila, Photoshop considers the monitor as having the sRGB profile, and you'll see the exact same color values from an sRGB image as from a non-color-managed application.
Photoshop will also display colors from documents with other profiles correctly, as they are transformed to sRGB for display.
FYI, I have the ATI Catalyst display manager load my video card color settings at startup.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to turn off all cellular service (not just data) without airplane mode?

    Hi,
I work in a lab where cell service is minimal.  In iOS8, can we turn off all cellular service (not just cellular data) without using airplane mode?  It would also be helpful to be able to keep GPS on with all cell service turned off when hiking.
    Thanks,
    Matt

Unfortunately, no. To turn off cellular service, requires the device to be put into Airplane Mode, which also turns off the GPS receiver.

  • How to turn off all apps?

Is there a way to turn off all Apps on original iPad?

Double tap the Home button and a list of apps should come up on the bottom of the screen. Hold down one of the icons for a few seconds and a minus button should appear in the top left hand corner of the apps. You can press that and the apps should turn off. All of this needs to be done on the home screen, not the lock screen.

  • How to turn off cellular data for exchange mail iphone 4 running on ios 7.1.1

    Hello,
I am new to using iphone 4. I am able to turn off cellular data for most of my apps. But unable to find an option to turn off celullar data for exchange emails.
    Is this possible? please help.
For now I am using the fetch method instead of push.

What's not there on the 4S is the ability to specifically disable 3G data. You can disable all cellular data. Turning off 3G did NOT turn off cellular data. It just shut off 3G. You would still be connected to the EDGE data network if present.

  • ITunes data off warning is a safety concern plz option to turn off all data warnings

The fact that every time i open itunes this very unnecessary warning comes up.

  • IPhone iOS5 - How to turn off ALL notifcations overnight, but leave phone ON?

    Hey all:
I really like the new notification center and all, but I've found a small issue with how I do things.....  Since my phone is my alarm, I sleep with it right by my head and I don't want buzzes from Facebook or emails or such.  However, I don't want to go to airplane mode so that someone could still call me if there's an emergency.
I used to do this with iOS4:
    1.  > Settings > Notifications > OFF and
    2.  > Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Turn Push to OFF, and Fetch to Manual
With iOS5, I can still do # 2, but #1 really isn't there anymore.  As I understand it, I'd have to go to the screen for a whole mess of individual apps to turn off their notifications.
Does anyone else have a better way to do this?  Basically, I want the PHONE on and everything else OFF.
    Thanks!!!!!

    Ok,
There is still no good answer so far,
i dont want to turn off data roaming, because i am still going to use it, but i just need the phone not to keep pulling data, unless i specify that by opening an app.
so in iOS4, data roaming on, notification off, and mail on manual, this allowed me to simply click on whatsapp or mail or twitter, and it would pull the data, but as soon as i am out of the app, the data usage is off.
and this whole in/out of notification center, doesnt really say wheather it is only in the pull down menue, or simply there is no data usage, and i actually tried, and i still recieved notifications while the app was in NOT in notification center,
    as i said,
    dear apple, PLEASE FIX !

  • How to turn off all lock screen notifications?

I give up. How do I turn off the notification messages I get at the locked screen from my apps? I've tried everything. I went into settings and turned off the notifications there and I went into the apps settings and turned it off there. Still messaging me. Very annoying. What do I do? The specific apps I'm getting notifications from are Temple Run 2 and Asphalt 8 and a couple others I can't remember.

I'm sorry, is this a game that is connected to Game Center? I don't use Game Center, as a matter of fact don't even play games on my phone at all, so I couldn't explain this. Is this the only notification that you have received since we talked last? If so, is this a game you use on a regular basis? Can you try to delete the game from the phone to see if it will stop then? Have you tried to get in touch with the game developer and see if they can provide any background as to why you cannot stop notifications?

  • Turning off all data messaging

I have 3 phones on a family plan and every time I upgrade a phone I start getting text messages when I have gone through great pains to have all text messages turned off. Now I'm getting charged for them.  What can I do to stop this from happening again?

    Settings => General => Network
    Ensure Data Roaming is Off.
It won't access data services when abroad. It will notify you if you try to telling you it is off.

  • How to turn off uncommitted data warning?

I have a bounded task flow that calls a second bounded task flow.
The second task flow shares transaction and data control scope with calling task flows.
Both task flows use the main area of the UI shell.
I make changes in second task flow and when I close the task flow I get a uncommited data warning.
Is there a way to turn off this uncommitted data warning?
