Nokia Quality Control

Hello
I bought Nokia 6120 Classic 2 days ago. I like it very much. It's fast, small with good display!
BUT I'm very disappointed! It seems this phone has hardware problem - a lot of colored vertical lines appears on the display if it's in idle mode for some time (without any regularity: it can be after 5 mins, or after 60 mins). I've searched over the web and found at least 5 nokia 6120 owners with the same problem...
They say: Nokia is the best quality , design and functionality. But I can't tell the same. I had Ericson, Motorola, Samsung before and there was no such serious problems (may be I was lucky.. but not today).
Sorry, but this is my "sad point of view" on Nokia

if you dont like, the best cell phones brand and support that name is"NOKIA",you can buy another one.
but here isnt place to say fine for other brands.
you can solve your problem with nokia care point center(if its to be,really!!!)
NOKIA means:Night Of King In Alone

except this major point i must admit the quality is quite good , but a bick lack of quality control and a customer disapointed at the end.
On the internet site it is not possible to send it back. So apple doesn't want to take in account that they mail sometimes fail, and want to satisfy their customer, because you have no other choice that accepting it.
    best regards

    Yes it is returnable.

That's for the US, there's a similar one for your country.

  • Image display QUALITY controll bar/change/modifi

    Hello
the bridges display quality of jpegs and raw images is awfull!!!
i see blockiness in all of my images, how can i watch my photos like this??
    there is no crispness!
u should made a picture display quality controll bar like speed-------quality
    so the user can select!

    Frosti,
This request has been made many times. The development team are aware of the need for 100% previews. However, such a feature, if provided, will not be available until at least Bridge 2. Based on previous upgrade cycles that would be late 2006, at earliest. In the meantime you might consider providing more information on the type of images you're trying to preview (i.e. Raw, JPG, etc).
Also, I would suggest that you soften the tone of your comments otherwise you'll find yourself with Read Only access.

  • Quality control? crashes, performance, image quality...

I like to functionality of new lightroom, but once more I have to say: what about quality control? even after 2.1 this prog is a beta-version at best:
    - performance: slower than a mountain duck
    - image quality: adjustment-brush not ready for prime time
    - stability: lightroom crashes more often in one day than all other programs together in one year.
summary: very poor quality control and very poo customer.

I understand your frustration. I too love LR's functionality but I've had a nightmare with it, particularly since 2.1. I have a high specified machine; Q6600, 4GB RAM, ATI 4850, XPsp3. LR constantly crashes.(the only program that does so) No Virus checker, Latest GFX driver, etc.
My main Issue-The Develop Module, After 30-45 mins usage.
(No difference whether it's my H3D-39 or 1DS mkIII files.)
In v1.0 I used to get an upside down red out of memory error.
I had to quit and restart to resolve.
In v2.0 unfortunately things got worse. The red OOM message was gone but unfortunately this was replaced by a gray area where the image should've been. I had to quit and restart to resolve.
I read that the problem in the develop module had been fixed in 2.1, seemingly it was attributable to a memory leak? Guess what?
Still a gray area where the image should be, sometimes preceded by the image flipping 180deg. I have to quit and restart to resolve.
Task manager confirms some odd things going on with memory.
I cannot use 2.1 with confidence, particularly so in front of my clients. It's not solid enough.

  • Inconsistent keyboard backlighting: quality control oversight or design issue?

I'm on my second MBA in two weeks--the first unit was returned because of a noisy hinge.  On both machines I noticed that one of the lighted keys are dimmer than others.  The left Command key is dimmer than the right.  I noticed a similar problem with my first machine except it was the Option keys.  Again, left key slightly dimmer than the right.
Just curious if there's anyone out there who just bought a new MBA who can report the same.  Is this a quality control oversight or a design problem...
I likely won't return this one because of this minor oversight, but my opinion about quality control is this: if you can't get the little things right, how can we be confident you got the big things right.  Glad I purchased Apple Care.

I know what you mean about quality control. However, you may want to try two things before you return it:
    1. Rub around the dead pixel. Google this method and you'll find more details. Sometimes the pixels can be restored to life.
    2. Put a small piece, or layered pieces, of electrical tape in the battery slot to fill in the gap. I've often done this with my apple laptops and it works perfectly. Once, when I was at the genius bar, the genius commented " Oh, good that you put the tape there and not over here like a lot of people do..." indicating that this is very common.
Should you have to? No, of course not! But if your computer is otherwise good, I would definitely try these potential solutions.
I'm afraid this is what quality control has come to. It's the same throughout the electronics industry and apple is no exception. The only company I've never had an issue with is Sony, but maybe I've just been lucky?

  • MB Quality Control

My MB is just under 11 months old and I've now had two problems that I've had corrected under AppleCare. The first, about 2 months ago was a problem with the MagSafe input. That resulted in shipping the unit out of state for the fix which took about 3 days to fix.
The second problem happened last week when the Super Drive stopped working and rejected all DVD's/CD's after a couple of minutes of whirling. This problem was corrected locally at my Apple Store and took 2 days to swap out the Super Drive. Since I've had the computer, I've used the optical drive only a few times without any problems. I have noted that I would occasionally hear a whirling sound while the computer was in the sleep mode and figured this was nothing to worry about although it did seem strange to hear the drive whirling up when there was no DVD/CD in the unit.
While I can't say enough about how good the AppleCare service has been, I wonder about the quality control and durability of my MB which by the way, mostly stays in my living room. I think I've only had it out of the house less than 6 times so it's not getting "banged around".
Based on my experience as stated above, about a week ago I signed up for another 2 years of AppleCare. While generally I don't subscribe to the idea of buying extended warranty plans, I think it's a wise idea to get it for Apple computers (if you're going to keep them more than a year). Even if you don't keep them a year, the extended warranty should be a big selling point when you do get ready to upgrade.

  • Better Quality Control

Hi I am email you on not hearing from from LULU for no approx 5 days as a result of the recent order 16811326. I have made the size correct. I have uploaded the the work and received a proof book.
On page 2 8 and 10 has a whiter boarder. All the pages were uploaded as on separate pdf so my questions why do I still have a white boarder. I confirmed the page sides with, is name Jesoph?
Please on any further orders can we have better quality control? If all other pages have a white border I could understand but only those 3. I am writing in a controlled manner asking if you can be good enough to respond to my email

    Hello Esmee
It sounds as some of your pages may not have the correct full bleed settings. I am sure someone from our print team will respond to your support request shortly. Please keep in mind that we work M-F from 8-5.

  • Newbie here...er..has something gone wrong with Apples quality control..!?

Hi, this is my first post here. I am on my second apple computer, first was a 12inch iBook in 2004 which my partner now has as I went and bought a shiny new macbook in June. When I bought my first apple computer I was a very happy switcher from pc's, I loved my iBook, and learnt mac osx on Panther Lots of fun with movies, photo's and iTunes. The ibook never crashed, never stopped doing what it was supposed to, and never got too hot or made barnyard impressions! So I was looking forward to the upgrade to Tiger, iLife 6 et al when I took delivery of the macbook. And I trusted Steve Jobs and the crew at Cupertino to carry on the the good work and provide the quality hardware and software that I had been trying to persuade all my pc friends to buy into....but...it has all gone horribly wrong. My macbook is at this very moment as I type getting hotter by the second and there is a herd of cows on my desk mooing away. Every now and then..bang.. ramdon shutdown. And every now and then it won't shut down when I want it to. Now I know from the discussion boards that I am not alone with this and that apple issued a fix for the overheating, but then on top of this, I see that iTunes 7 has lots of problems as does the new v10.4.8 update. I am still a mac fan, and I want to stay loyal as I can't bare the thought of going back to pc's, but hey, I just really hope that if there are some quality control issues rearing an ugly head that Mr Jobs remembers that we still have a choice. I'm holding off from downloading the updates until the bugs are fixed, and I will hold off from buying my new 24 inch iMac until I am sure that there are no gremlins with it...and I should not have to be doing this with Macs. Or so I was lead to believe!
Sorry if my first post sounds a little negative but I just want to enjoy being a mac owner again!

So I'm guessing that your reliable iBook (the one that never crashed or stop doing what it was supposed to do) wasn't one the first generation of iBooks that Apple made that had the logic board problem that caused Apple to extend the warranty out to 3 years, right?
    http://www.apple.com/support/ibook/faq/
My point is that your iBook was as good as it was based on the fact that Apple made mistakes on (and learned from) previous generation iBooks.
Now you buy a first generation product (where Apple's had no chance to learn from previous mistakes because there haven't been any previous mistakes as this is brand-spanking stuff for them) and you're expecting it to be as good as the fifth or sixth generation product that you're replacing.
Where is the logic in that?
To me, what matters is how well the manufacturer can address the issues. And although I'm not impressed with the speed at which Apple has dealt with some of the MacBook issues, as it stands (and as far as I know) they've corrected all of them so far. New ones are being manufactured that don't have the issues, and Apple will repair any older MacBook that was manufactured before production was changed. This is more that I can about my experience with my first-year Honda Element.
Perhaps this is why Windows laptops rarely have huge innovative design changes like Apple made going from the iBook to the MacBook. Most manufacturers don't want to have to deal with the subsequent risks.
I don't think it's wrong to expect a lot from Apple, but I also don't think that you can ignore the logic of the situation.

  • App Store Quality Control

A quick review of the existing threads reveals a pattern of application crashes... does anybody know if there is any sort of quality control going on to get an application on the App Store?
I have had numerous applications, some free and some paid, that end up crashing on launch or shortly thereafter that have caused me to either have to re-download the application or completely restore my iPhone.
Given that the App Store is the only way for developers to release their applications and there isn't a viable option for being able to try apps before we buy do we have any guarantee as the the quality of the applications or are we merely paying beta testers?

There is no regular pattern as to what is even causing these crashes SOME people seem to be having. I say some people because not everyone is experiencing any crashes. I have 36 apps installed on two white iPhones and I have no crashes. I'm not sure if Apple will allow refunds for apps that crash or not.

  • Quality Control

Hello, I'm at the near end of the mortgage process. I've satisfied all conditions related to the conditional approval. I have passed quality control and now my file is in underwriting for final approval.  Is passing quality control a good sign?  I am expecting clear to close Monday or Tuesday.
    Thanks!

Welcome to myFico, mycredithome! Yes, passing QC and going to Underwriting is a good sign, and shows you are making progress. I agree with the other poster, just try to be inconspicuous. If you can think of anything that might be important that they havent asked for, be prepared for it.  IOW, try to anticipate what they might ask for.  An example might be if you had a credit problem within the past 10 years, consider what you would put in a letter of explanation (LOE).  Sometimes, lenders pull a Full or factual CR instead of just the normal one, but it does cost them extra.  This would show anything that is suppressed from the regular view, like a CO from 8 years ago, when it is normally excluded after 7 years.. Anyway, yes, QC behind you is a good thing. GL The Underwriter reviewed all my documents before a comittment letter was issued.  The minor conditions was cleared by the loan processor.    I haven't had any credit problems. My credit is spotless.   I received a clean approval.   All I needed was docouments from 3rd parties such as title company.    Hopefully I get the clear to close today to start preparing my move!

  • N80IE Problem with Nokia Remote Control Headset AD...

Guys,do you have this AD-41 Remote Control Headphone, found in N73 Music Edition Phones,on your N80? My problem is that, I cant remotely play a song by simply pressing the PLAY Button on it... But before I bought this headset for my N80 I check first the Nokia web site, its says that it is COMPATIBLE... Is there something missing? Like, do I need to install a certain app so that it would work? Or, Its just like, I can't do it in N80?

Hi, Ryan. Look, I have now an N73; but before I had an N80 and guess what: I had the same problem as you. I sent an e-mail to Nokia, and what did they say in the e-mail they sent back? "The compatibility between your device and your hands-free is PARTIAL, sir.". What the **bleep**?!!... Yes, it's not fully compatible. You don't need any software or setup in the phone... You (and I) need light the Nokia's offices on fire...

  • Cms for flash gallery with image quality control

    Halo.
I'm looking for a non-commercial solution / tutorial (AS3, MySQL, PHP, XML) that would point me in the right directon to control the quality of uploaded images.

  • Video post processing/quality control no longer works in flash player

I use to watch videos via http://www.channel5.com and was able to use the post processing features in the AMD driver to improve the picture quality.
Now, it no longer works. Is this because hardware acceleration isn't working?
For a while I was able to use it in Internet Explorer, Sometimes in Firefox but never in Chrome. Now even with internet explorer it doesn't seem to work correctly.
I am using the latest flash versions for all platforms and the latest browser and driver version from AMD too.
Has Adobe changed something with the latest version of flash which cause a problem with the AMD Driver? Why is there no longer a Hardware Acceleration check-box in Internet Explorer?
I am using Windows 8.1 and I have the setting in the AMD CCC "apply current vdieo quality settings to internet video" checked. I have made sure in Firefox and Chrome hardware acceleration is enabled both in flash player settings and in the browser settings.
Thanks for any pointers you can give.

It may be for you, but it isn't for me in Internet Explorer, by comparison though, there is the box available in Chrome and Firefox...although in Chrome it doesn't do anything.
I did some more testing; With Internet Explorer hardware acceleration seems to be dependant on the website you watch.
For example, using IE to visit http://www.dailymotion.com the post processing options work fine, but when on http://www.channel5.com they do not. Is there any reason why this is?
As for other browsers, it seems hardware acceleration just isn't working at all since post processing never works on chrome.
On Firefox it seems to behave the same way as IE, e.g it works on some sites but not others.
I thought I may be able to get around this by disabling the pepper flash player in chrome, but it doesn't seem to make any difference, either its still using the built-in one or it still doesn't work at all with hardware acceleration.
Either way none of these achieve what I was able too before, get hardware acceleration working with http://www.channel5.com .

  • Music quality control

I have noticed that the sound quality of a few songs and albums I have downloaded from my collection to my iPod are fuzzy or distorted. One of the albums is a brand new Delux Addition of the Moody Blues "Days Of Future Passed" which is mixed in 5.1 Surround Sound.
    Two questions:
    1. Is it possible to adjust the download levels?
    2. Can the song quality deteriorate with time on the iPod?
    Thanks,
    Bob

are they songs in mp3 format? if so that might be your issue.. you can use different formats for better sound quality. I do not think the sound quLity would go down after use of an ipod. someone correct me if I am wrong.

  • Will a moderator please talk to the quality control department? If Creative even has one...

Shipping out a defective product that doesn't work out of the box is bad business. I see that my previous posts were ignored which is also bad business. If nothing is done to do something about the quality issues of the Gigaworks systems I will continue to post in this forum and every other forum that deals with multimedia speakers about many of your systems not even working out of the box. This is a $350 system, is it that difficult to check to see if it even works before packaging it up and sending it off to some unlucky sap like myself or someone else?
Again, I am out over $50 because of this and am quite upset and even more upset to see that nothing is even being done about it as there were other posts I've read of people having the same problem. I've read discussions about many other multimedia speakers and I haven't found ONE except creative systems that don't work out of the box. Sure they might fail down the road but at least they work when you first hook it up. Thank you for your time in this matter, I hope Creative does something about it as the Gigaworks otherwise seem like a nice set of speakers.

Well so much for that idea. No one contaced me so I ended up having to send the speakers back to newegg. I was wrong, it was a little less than $100.00 to try out these POS speakers instead of the $50.00 I originally thought it would cost. If you're rich and have money to burn then I suppose I would give them a try as they supposedly do sound good if you can manage to get a working set. It's no wonder local retailers like best buy don't carry them, they would be up to their neck in exchanges and wouldn't make any profit from them. I know the klipsches have their problems too that arise years down the road but at least they'll work when you take them out of the box. Talk about crap, I'd be extremely surprised if Creative ever releases another set of speakers down the road as I can't imagine anyone would even give them a try given the track record of these gigaworks. Oh well, Creative has lost my business in the soundcard market as well and I will be buying cards by other manufacturers in the future regardless of their gaming support. If Creative wouldn't take their monopoly of computer audio for granted and actually care then things might be different.
