Nokia's 701 headphone "half" working!?

One of the sides from my Nokia's 701 headphone (the default, that comes in its box) suddently stopped working and I don't know why...
Been using it for just 3 months... Can somebody help me please?

Bear in mind that accessories only have six month warranty, so try to find another headset to exclude connector upon your 701 as source of problem.

Disappointed with Nokia WH-701 headphones

This is constructive feedback I hope. Why did Nokia not design in a lock slider switch with the wh-701 headphones? I was very pleased when I read about them, as I like always to support Nokia but their standard headphones with fixed earbuds size never fit me. The wh-701 have the soft earplug type and even come with three different size plug covers.
They sound fine, and work fine except why no lock switch? I use them to listen to the radio or music at work and to take calls - but with no lock switch every time the headset is bumped one key or another is activated. So the track changes, or the radio station changes - very annoying. They really should have had included a simple lock switch like the HS-45 unit IMHO. So I will go back to using that with my Etymotics ...
Now running a 701, beautiful phone to handle and use...now that it has stopped sending my personal information to Nokia via 360Panel [rolls eyes]

Hi, have you looked on the side of the remote controll ? There is a lillle slider switch which locks the controls, if you look at it and can see a little red square it is locked, slide it the other way and buttons should work, if they don't the headphone control is faulty. As already mentioned the 3.5 jack must be fully pushed home.

The new version of Nokia HS-43 headphones not work...

So I've been using Nokia HS-43 headphones ever since I got them with Nokia N82 a few years back, and they finally got broken a few weeks ago. I bought a new pair because I like them a lot, but unfortunately both my N82 and E7 say with the new pair that the accessory is not supported, even though the old pair worked with both of them perfectly. They don't work even as normal headphones because the sound from the phone doesn't go to them at all but is just played from the phone's speaker.
I asked from the reseller (MyTrendyPhone) whether they are really made by Nokia and they said that yes they are. So I'm a bit confused: does Nokia change the specs of some of their products just like that, making e.g. headphones uncompatible with phones they used to support?
I understand these are quite old products I'm talking about, but I still use my N82 sometimes to listen to music or Audible audiobooks (normally I'm using it as an alarm clock, though ), and HS-43 has been great a pair of headphones because it has the built-in neck strap and the volume control in it, and it of course works for talking in the phone as well.
So does anyone have any experience with Nokia changing the specs of their accessories suddenly? Or does anyone know if there is any chance of making the new pair of HS-43 work like the earlier version did?

Hey thanks for the suggestion! I haven't been able to verify it the headphones really are fake and use AHJ, because I haven't really found out how to do that. They do work with Nokia N900 (although with some extra noises, like that ones you got from playing vinyl lp's with tiny scratches in it) and they seem to work pretty well with my ZTE Blade. Apparently ZTE Blade doesn't use AHJ, so that would tell that the headphones are not AHJ.
I guess I could try and contact Nokia to see what they have to say, although I don't know if I really have the energy anymore. It's so annoying when something simple like this turns into a drama that takes hours of your life trying to resolve

Nokia 5310 - Headphones not working, only speaker ...

Hi all,
Am I missing something blatantly obvious?? I've just unwrapped my new 5310, plugged in a standard set of headphones (not the nokia ones) - but no sound comes out of them, just through the phone speaker
Should it work with any headphones, or am I tied to using Nokia ones? Headphones are OK and work everywhere else.
Also, when I plug in the headphones it displays: "Enhancement not supported"

Nokia 5310 has a standard 3.5mm stereo jack. So, theoretically it is possible to plug in any headphone having a compatible header. In your case, I guess the connector on the headphone is a bit longer, and because of that, it might be missing the contacts inside the jack. Pull out the connector sligthly, or press it in a bit, and see if it helps. Also, try a different set of earphones too, to confirm that your jack is working fine.

Iphone headphones can work with nokia's ?

i was just wondering if the iphone headphones would work with my nokia 5800 because it has the inbuilt mic which is alot more helpful then having to carry round the nokia adaptor remote around with me?
or if there are any other types of headphones that have inbuilt mics that would be compatible?

l have an extra nokia wh-102 headphone and tried to use it on my laptop, but the sound is awful with an ehco or something, when l pressed and holded the square button, the sound somewhat became normal, but when l released it, it became awful again, so is the headphone broken? or is it just for the phone only?

I have one of those and I cant get anything other than the headphone/mic jacks to work.
The volume control and the 3 buttons do not work (buttons do not light up).
I thought it might be the cables, so I paid $5 to get replacement cables sent to me from the RMA dept and they still do not work.
Apparently, this issue is pretty widespread, but nobody seems to have a solutions.

I have the headphones and the quality by far better than the internal speakers.
When you plug your headphones in does it come up with a menu - so if make sure you select the headphones option.

Hey guys, i have a Nokia BH-207 headphone and bought it 2-3 years ago.. i`ve used it 5-6 times since i got it and since then is sitting in a box. Today I've decided to work it again so i connect it with a DC-3x adapter (Nokia N95 adapter) and the indicator light switched on for 3 seconds. After 3 hours of charging i tried to pair it with my Nokia N8 but the headphone wont switch on. I press the button for 8 seconds but no blue light appears. But when i connect it again with the charger the light goes on for 3 seconds.
Any help will be appreciated how to work it.

Actrually i upgraded The Window 8.1 to 10, Before windows 10 my headphones were working fine but when i started to use windows 10 , it is not working. jack is fine because it shows headphone detected in playback devices,even i select as default device despite of that headphones are not giving sound while speakers are fine.
If any solution is in your mind please to tell ,Thanks in advance

Hello. I sent my WRT1900AC V1 to Linksys four days ago (Monday) via UPS with a RMA. Linksys paid the shipping and everything. The router is still in route, and it should arrive to their offices tomorrow. Once they receive the WRT1900 AC V1, they are going to send me an EA8500 as a replacement. But I have been reading the comments about the EA8500 here in the forum and it seems to have the same problems. I guess the firmware is extremely flawed in both routers (maybe it is almost the same code?). Anyway, I will try the EA8500 and I hope it works. I bought a temporary router from Walmart and I paid $35 for it. It is a Belink N600 DB. I can't believe that a $35 router is working a lot, lot, lot better than my previous $250 WRT1900AC router. Unbelievable. If the EA8500 doesn't work, I'm going to try and get my money back from Linksys, or contact The Consumerist or someone to get my money back and get a Nighthawk instead.

Are you using the earbuds that came with the iPhone? If you are using other earphones, it's possible that they need an adaptor to work with the iPhone's recessed headphone jack.

Hi I also have this problem. Sound was only working on the headphones and also on the volume slider in the settings app. Everywhere else I get no sound and no volume slider. Now the headphones don't work either.
(I'm using an ipad 2 iOS 6.1.2)
And NO it's not muted. I've reset all settings and restarted the iPad. Been searching forums for a couple days. Some say its a dirty docking port problem, others suggest a Skype or other app update that could be the problem.

Remote on Headphones not working...and it isn't fluff

So today randomly the remote on my (latest Apple) headphones stopped working. As in it won't play, pause, skip, adjust the volume, or start voice control. I know it's not the "fluff" people on other threads have talked about swabbing out of your headphone jack because a) I tried that and b) the remote doesn't work on multiple devices I've use it with in the past. I don't know if this is related to the wire because I hear sound out of the right plug, but the remote on the right wire doesn't work. And this literally just happened today.
I bought an iPod touch 4G last September w/ Apple Care, and then bought the remote headphones for $30 from apple in February. Does the AppleCare cover these, even if I didn't buy them with the iPod? (probably not, stupid question). Can I swap these for new ones after 7 1/2 months? I'm not paying $30 AGAIN because the remote feature just stopped working one day, in the middle of a bunch of days of normal usage. And that feature is the reason I went and spent the $30.
Any suggestions? Any policy/warranty stuff? Anything will be appreciated since I use the play/pause/volume buttons pretty much every day.

I would bring them into your local Apple Store/Genius Bar and demonstrate this issue to them. The headphones should still be covered under the 1 year warranty against manufacturer defects meaning Apple should swap them out of for you. Either way, a trip your local Apple Store would be your next best bet.
