Nokia unable to provide clarity & support on E71

I've been using a Nokia E71. One fine day the phone switched off & it didn't start. As good Nokia customer I only trusted Nokia care outlets ( Nokia Care - Satya Telecare, 229 Chittaranjan Avenue, Near Girish Park Metro Station, Kolkata - 700006). After rectifying the problem, they told me that the phone had another problem of battery warming. After two days they again informed me that the handset have a network detecting problem. Its been 12 days now they have not been able to rectify the problem, also they are unable to tell me as to when the problem can get rectified. Even more, they dont communicate. When I visit the Nokia care outlet, I am made to wait for more than an hour each time. ( 1st time I waited for more than 3 hours). Today they are saying they will let me know when the phone gets repaired. This is ridiculuous & frustrating....
Nokia Products are good & its services are equally bad. Going towards worse.

You won't typically get support directly from Nokia on these forums, but as a fellow user, I can say what I would do.  I assume your phone is long out of warranty?  Visit the shop, demand your phone now, and pay them for whatever work they did.  Then find an independent repair shop, preferably somebody who has been in business a long time.  Maybe some old guy?  There aren't many parts to a mobile phone: the circuit board, keyboard, screen, camera, battery, volume buttons, case, etc.  I doubt the Nokia shop (or perhaps anybody) has the skill or time to try soldering a bad circuit board on a modern mobile phone.  They will probably just replace whatever part has gone bad with a new or used part, and re-flash the firmware.  I think an independent shop offers the chance of being more skilled (and possibly more honest ?) than a slick, corporate shop.  Just my two cents.  Good luck!

    So... I don't want to do that, but I do what to be able to Manage my music.  I'm not sure what it means by being synced to another iTunes unless it means to an older version of itunes?
    Anyone have any ideas?

    I cannot address the sync services error right now, but the error that you receive when you change from sync to manually manage music is what happens when you change. Once you change to manually manage music, it erases all of the music and will only put the music that you want on the phone, content that you manually drag over to it.     Not sure how I got the Googleupdater.exe file on my computer. I did download Microsoft Security Essentials to help find the JIT problem, but it failed to install properly and run. The next day I remembered it probably only runs on Internet Explorer (which we deleted in 2009) after testing out Firefox. I then also deleted Security Essentials.
    I also downloaded on April 25th the free version of MS Visual Basics because I read on eHow that you can adjust settings in the 'TOOL' menu to stop JIT Debugging pop-ups. However, the free version was 'MS Visual Studio Basic 2008 Express Edition - SP1' which did NOT provide access to JIT Debugging settings (so it was not a solution).
    I must say I switched Internet Security programs to AVAST! on TU | Apr26th and love it so far. Highly recommend looking into AVAST! ver 6.0 at CNET downloads - free. The anti-virus program is free, but everything else costs about $30US for a year. WORTH IT Love the options | settings | flexibility|user friendly windows.
    Trend Micro was then deleted. It had always blocked usage of our internal CD|DVD drive. To use the CD|DVD drive we had to shut off Trend Micro and then turn it back on again after we finished using the CD|DVD drive. NOT a preference - for sure. Jaykay

    We're working on upgrading both the hardware and software on our application currently, and part of this involves upgrading our compiler to Sun Studio 12.1. I downloaded
    SunStudio12u1-SunOS-SPARC-pkgs-ML.tar.bz2
    from the Sun website and we installed it into the following location on our server:
    /opt/compiler/sunstudio12.1
    I successfully compiled all my code using the compiler, however, when I try to launch the debugger by typing ./sunstudio in the 'bin' directory, I get the following error:

    Sun Studio is unable to find a supported version of the NetBeans IDE.
    Sun Studio requires a NetBeans IDE version 6.5.1 with NetBeans C/C++ module (cnd
    2) enabled.

    1) Location specified with --netbeanshome command line option
    2) At /opt/compiler/sunstudio12.1/netbeans
    I have seen references to executing 'prepare_system' on forums while I was trying to investigate this, but when our sys admin folks try to execute the command, it does not work (command not found). They've mentioned that they expected a prepare_system script in the directory where we untarred the downloaded sun studio tarfile, but it is not there:

    Any advice appreciated on how to get the debugger working. Ideally, I'd prefer not to uninstall / reinstall if at all possible as we're about to start system testing our executables, and I think a reinstall would require more unit teting and delays to our project (yikes!).     First off - thanks for the response. I do have some follow up questions if you don't mind though:
    1. When you say the install is corrupted, do you suspect
    - the file I downloaded from the website either was corrupted, or was not the correct file for my platform
    - the procedure used to install the software was incorrect
    - something else
    2. Is there a logfile that the sun studio install creates which would indicate an error during the installation procedure? I'm sure our admins who performed the install would have shouted if an error was logged... but on the offchance that the installation does not 'shout loudly' for some errors, I'd like to see a log of the error. At a minimum, I'd expect it to say why the install failed, and what we need to modify to ensure a successful install next time 'round.
    3. I successfully compiled my code using the C compiler from the install. My unit tests also look good... does this suggest that the install was at least a partial success, and would you suspect that my recompiled executables are reliable, despite the fact that I cannot launch the IDE?
    4. Today, one of our admins telnetted to our unix server - not via exceed by the way, but he did try the following test:
    - set his display env variable (he knew he would not get a display however)
    - executed the sunstudio script
    He did not get the netbeans error, and the process appeared to be running (as I mentioned, without a display) until he killed it. I've asked if they can repeat the test using an exceed session. I thought there may be something on his $PATH that I did not have - unfortunately this was not the case (although, he may have access as 'root' to something that I require to launch the IDE). My question is, would you expect this behaviour if the install was corrupted?

    The new version has updated the Music Manager but has changed some important features like being able to see how big the selected music files are. This is definately needed.
    Better support for automatically converting MP3's to AAC which is a space saver for memory.
    One problem I am having is that once you initially connect the phone it installs both pc suite support and sms support to the handset, however, this only happens on the initial connection. Any idea of they will make these support sis files separate if one wants to use more than one handset with PC Suite?

  • Unable to load the support DLL (webaccess setup)

    Hi,
    I'm installing GW8 SP2 HP3. So far I've installed the domain, PO and GWIA. They work just fine. Now I'm trying to install the WebAccess agent. When I run the setup I receive the following error message:
    Unable to load the support DLL:
    C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp\2\{ad3aed10-0f09-11d3-93d8-0008c7392dd7}\WAZAGB32.DLL
    When I go to that temp location, the files are all there, including the above mentioned DLL. In my forum searches I found similar messages, but they were all caused by a missing Novell Client. I have the Novell Client 2 SP1 installed. I even installed the latest IR9 update to see if that helped.
    I installed the previous hotpatch just fine (GW8SP2HP2). When I try to run the old hotpatch webaccess installer, it fails with the same error. So obviously something changed between the time I installed the previous and this hotpatch on my system. I just can't figure out what.
    Does anyone have an idea as to what might be causing this error?
    I'm running on Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1

    I'm following the system install instructions in the Grid Compute Utility guide, Appendix A "Building a Local Development Environment" and am getting stuck on step 4, installing sunstudio. I'm running Solaris 5.10 on x86 and can run netbeans IDE without problem. Here is some info, I'm not sure what other system info is relevant:

    Did you install NetBeans separately or let Sun Studio installer do it? The latter usually results in working configuration.
    I think that NetBeans installation simply doesn't have c++ pack; you can install one following usual NetBeans modules installation path and then re-try starting Sun Studio.
    Another option is to uninstall NetBeans and re-install Sun Studio using its installer, which should set up NetBeans properly.

    We are generating proxy classes for CAF entity objects and using them in WebDynpro for all our custom CRUD operations.
    Is this a good design or move all the CRUD operations to App Service and call it in the webdynpro. What is the exact difference in Updating the CAF Database from WebDynpro (Component controller) and from App Service.
    In what scenario's you use App Service and WebDynpro Component controller with respect to Updating CAF Database.

  • Will Aperture 3.6 eventually provide raw support to Sony a5100

    I have an iMac running OS X Maverick 10,9,5, and currently use Aperture 3.5.1 with all of its latest RAW updates.  I am considering updating to Yosemite to get Aperture 3.6.  I note that so far 3.6 does not provide RAW support to the Sony a5100.  Lightroom does have RAW support for this camera, and I can get Lightroom and keep Maverick.  However, I like Aperture and would like to continue using it.  But will the new version on Yosemite ever get RAW support for my camera?  I also see from other posts that many are having problems with both Yosemite and with Aperture 3.6.  I would need some reassurance before taking the step to a new OS X.  I need some advice about what to do.

    We cannot tell you this, but any new Raw Support will most likely only be available on Yosemite.

    I need some advice about what to do.
    Upgrade, but don't burn your bridges. I'd keep a full TimeMachine backup or a bootable clone of your system as it is now, so you can easily revert to the previous version.

    You have GNU Java 1.5.0. In order to use IDE and Performance Analyzer you need to install SUN Java 1.6.0.

    on the main screen of ur mobile u can see an option search wlan, when u want disconnect ur wlan click on that then u have a menu through that menu u can disconnect ur connection. or go to menu->control panel->connectivity->assistent wlan-> there u can select ur connected ap and deconnect it.

  • Unable to view/locate support email reply

    I put in a support request earlier today, and I just received an email to my Gmail account saying that there was a response waiting for. I followed the link and signed in, but there are no new messages in my verizon inbox, not even after repeated log in/out attempts. I didn't have POP enabled until after I recieved the Gmail message, so it shouldn't have erased after sending me the notification.
    Is there a separate message box for support messages? I can't tell if I'm just missing it somehow or if it's really an error.

    I'm a little unclear about the issue so by all means, let me know if my reply is any help or way off the mark.
    Verizon is your internet provider and with that you have the option of creating up to 10 Verizon email accounts. Your Verizon emails are yours to use or not for as long as you are a Verizon subscriber. If you had emails from another company, a gmail, yahoo, AOL, etc.. You can still use them as you always have as well as using the Verizon email. Any time you do anything online, say shopping or customer service, whatever email you provide will be the one that company will use to get back to you. So if you give your gmail, your responses will go to gmail, yahoo to yahoo, Verizon to Verizon and so on. Your emails will work the same as they always have.
    Everyone gets their first VZ login/email account when you begin your service, primarily as a way for you to access your account, pay bills, etc. If that's all you use it for, that's perfectly fine, many don't, but you always have that option. It's not necessary to use your VZ email as a contact if you're getting customer support from us. Whichever email you use or prefer is perfectly acceptable. You don't have to sign in at myverizon if you are sent messages to you gmail account. Your messages will go to gmail if that's the email you provided to support.
    POP, which is also a complimentary service, typically is when you use a piece of software, like Microsoft outlook to download your emails off their respective websites and directly onto you computer. The advantage being if you have multiple email accounts across multiple systems, the software downloads all your emails automatically, so you don't have to go login at myverizon-sign out, login at Google-sign out, sign in at yahoo, etc. But if you use just the one or two emails then your better off just going to the site as downloading all those emails will just take up space on you computer as opposed to on some web server some where.
