  • If Nokia N8 original casing is changeable?

I went to a Nokia store and they got only the black Nokia N8.But I would like to buy the orange one. They told me to buy the black one and in February 2011,they would be able to change the casing into an orange one.Is it changeable?

    hi
the normal user would not be able to change the cover by themselves (N8 doesnt have xpress-on covers) but I dont see any reason why they wouldnt be able to make the change at an authorised Nokia care centre.
Once they receive the train to repair the N8, they should be able to perform the change

  • Nokia Asha 300 Hard Cover

Hi i can only seem to find Gel back covers anyone know where i can buy a hard cover for the back?, Someone on Ebay does E-cell but i wasn't happy with qaulity looked sprayed. if you see one be appreciated thanks

Plenty of choice on ebay UK:
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313.TR1.TRC0.A0.Xnokia+asha+300+hard+case.TRS0...
With Nokia not making an official one you'll have to keep looking at sites like ebay or Amazon.

  • Case for the Nokia 1020 with charging cover

Where or when can I find a cover that fits the Nokia 1020 with the charging cover?

The charging cover is a case as such. Nokia will not be releasing a case that fits over it. I doubt any 3rd party companies will release anything now either.
I suggest you use a pouch style case that you can find on ebay if you want to cover the charging shell.

  • Nokia 770 replacement battery cover

I realise that the 770 is an internet tablet and not a phone, but I figured I'd get a greater response if I posted in this section of the forum, apologies if I've broken forum rules.
Anyway, having lost the battery cover for my 770 I'm in desperate need of a replacement! I called the Nokia careline (UK) this afternoon only to be told to contact a third party supplier, who in-turn referred me back to Nokia.
Can anyone help me at all?

I have tried Google and drawn a blank, and as for famous "auction" websites there is nothing in the way of replacements or spares on either the UK or US sites, not even faulty units being sold for parts.
This morning I contacted quite a few NSCs but only one said that they might be able to get the part, but that was only because the company they order from is closed for the weekend, they're going to call me back on Monday but I won't be holding my breath!
As for high street retailers there is only one that I can think of, but they deal in secondhand handsets as you say and not spare parts

  • Nokia 6300 opening back cover

Hi. One of my friends has just purchased a new Nokia 6300, and I've been trying to set it up for him. However, I am struggling at the first hurdle - I can't open the back cover. I have looked at the instruction manual and main website demo which shows pushing down around the 2 megapixel print on the cover and pushing down. This does not work.
I have also searched on Internet search engines which has turned up two other methods of opening the back, neither of which work.
The first was to press in further down the back cover at either side.
The second was to hold it in one hand and use the palm of the other hand to press it down and away from you.
Please can someone help me as to how to open the back cover of this phone

Well, it does get easier after you have removed and replaced the battery cover about 10 times or so. But it still takes more effort than most Nokias. The benefit is that the phone has a real solid feel.
My technique is just to grab the battery cover by either side and squeeze hard and pull down. It doesn't seem to move at all but if you look, there should be a barely perceptible very small gap at the seam between the cover and the camera part of the phone. A barely visible space that is just big enough to slide a finger nail in. Once you can get a finger nail in, it is easy to just do that and pull the cover 1/2 inch further down and then lift it off.
I really like the solid build on this phone, although I too initially had trouble getting the battery cover off.Message Edited by mongatu on 02-Dec-200710:36 AM

  • Why Nokia is not listening to N97 users?

It is a big shame to Nokia that it even do not reply saying, we are sorry about the inconvineance caused because of N97, we are trying to fix it, wait for so many days.
It will give lot of relief to me because from last so many years i am using only Nokia, and i can't even think of others (may be that is what made Nokia so reluctent).
I had visited Nokia Care Centre 4 times after taking this phone (5 times i have updated my firmware usng PC with two times hard reset) but NCC do not do anything, i had given my charger adapter and headset for faulty replacement do you know the best part is both periphels came as it was, no change. F***** O**
sorry Nokia for loosing trust on you, somehow i have wait till my INR 31,500 get depriciated over period of time, uske bhad maine tumhe NO KIYA ( hindi I did NO TO YOU)

    Hay thanks Xploit,
You know i am really not having any problem with my N97 as of now (but unlucky me it started from last night after posting here
I work in garment industry, do you know if my customer not satisfied with my shirts he throws it on my face (remember we do not claim any warranty ) but as a "customer is the king" we do listen to him and replace or discount him if there is any problem.
Doesn't that sound ethical or professional to be loyal to their warranty? Many people complain about paying extra money for softwears (like quickoffice, PDF reader, Joikuspot etc., ) i am not complaining that because it is my fault to purchase such a heafty phone if it doesn't comes with these softwears, fine i agree because that was the deal.
But how can i accept a faulty headphone?
Sorry i just went on writing....
    But I love my N97.

visit this to know how do i support my N97 in other blogs, only here i complain about it because there is a hope one fine day Nokia comes up with good customer support.

  • Nokia original replacement housing

    Hi people,
I live in Singapore since a year and brought a long some of my Nokia phones (others i bought here in SG) I am searching for some replacement housing for some of my phones (here is a list)
Nokia 100 = front + back cover (ocean blue)
Nokia Asha 200 = complete replacement housing + keyboard (white)
Nokia Asha 201 = complete replacement housing + keyboard (white)
    Nokia Asha 206 = front cover (white/orange)
Nokia Asha 305 = complete replacement housing (red)
Back in The Netherlands, I have my own online shops where I can order all of these, but to get them here will
cost me a fortune, so i rather not.
I found some online websites, from china, but to be frank, i rather don't wanna order from them, since I can't be sure that the products are authentic.
It seems that there are no stores around here who sell these kind of things, all and everything is iPad, iPhone, Samasung G3S :-(
I went to a couple of Nokia Stores, but honestly (and no offence) but those kids who work there are not really interested in you unless u buy a new phone, so no info there either.
Dear Nokia and forum members, is there any way for me to get hold of these items here in Singapore, I am able to fix my phones by myself (i know the warranty will be voided, after being a Nokia fan for more then 25 years, i never brought back a nokia to a shop and nagg about it).
The reason why i need those housings is because i don't like scratches on my Nokia phone, they are allready perfect from the inside, so i want them to be perfect on the outside as well :-D lol
Ok, w'll if anyone can help me with this, then that would be really awesome, thnx guys.
And NOKIA, keep up the good job making good quality phone :-D

I found a white one on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/nokia-n97-camera-cover-lens-slide-replacement-part-OEM_W0QQitemZ260489564942QQcm...

  • Nokia 5800 XM Music General Error

    Hey,
    This is getting really frustrating.
I bought this blue nokia 5800 XM in January (Australia), and in the past month its been giving me trouble.
    Okay, right now: Running v50.xx
My phone is having a 'general error' when I try and play music in the music player.
Only when I find songs via the file manager I can play them..One at a time.
This is the second time within a week that its done this!
The first time I googled around and found I had to 'hard-reset' then clear my memory card of bad sectors.
    Done that, it fixed..Until now....
This isn't the only problem, at the start of the month my stupid phone would restart itself just for fun, and the alarm doesn't function properly (when I touch/slide to 'snooze' or 'stop' it doesn't respond until a minute later) And the memory card has wiped itself before aswell
I reformatted the entire phone and memory, clean install of firmware and everything but still I get problems?
    Why?
Think I'll go back to my old SE w910i it was much better..No problems with it ever (even after I dropped the battery in water)
BTW I think I should have 1yr nokia warranty (does it cover first year from purchase?), but then again all they'll tell me to do is wait my time every week re-formatting the phone...
    PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!

You've done about all you can, I could suggest replacing the memory card and the sim, but this is unlikely to solve any 'physical' problem. If the phone is less than a year old take it to a Nokia Care Point and insist it is repaired/replaced, or contact Nokia direct. The 5800 is generally stable and performs well, but I wouldn't leave it to run out of warranty, there is a good chance the phone would be replaced.
    Good Luck

  • Nokia E71 Housing panel replacement

Recently I changed my nokia e71 housing panel but I was replaced with out microphone panel and USB/memory card rubber I want to know whether the both will come with with the housing panel or we need to buy them separately
why I am asking is at some nokia centers they are giving with USB/memory card rubber and some are telling that we need to get them separately
to my bad where I replaced the panel there I did not get these two
    please advice

A genuine E71 cover should come with the USB/MicroSD covers attached to the cover.
Did the Nokia Center fit the cover or did they sell you the part to fit yourself??

  • Lumia 920 Disturbed after Black update

Once Lumia black came, i update my mobile. After that i am facing these issues
    proximity sensor stop working.
    Screen Rotation has stopped.
Camera app become crash whenever i try to use camera.
i tried to hardReset. And then download nokia suit from nokia site and try to install all software from scratch. First. 5mon it work fine after that again same problem.
i purchased my mobile from singapore. Currently i am in london. Can't go back. Even can check my mobile at UK nokia care because they refused because of international warranty . Surprise Nokia UK don't cover Nokia singapore product. If it will happen with nokia users then what gonna happen.
this is my business mobile. I started Lumia series when Lumia 800 comes...then Lumia 900 then 520, 720 and now 920. But i am really disappointed.
now may i know my handset future beside curtsy.

We understand your situation, terchoo. Since the issue started after installing Lumia Black, try to verify it the phone is successfully updated. Check if 'Lumia Black' shows up under Settings > Extras + Info. Try also to verify if all system applications are up-to-date. Since the camera won't work, just manually search the system apps in the Store or via Bing search. Check this link for the list of apps that needs to be updated: Nokia Windows Phone 8 App Updates
By the way, Nokia Suite isn't compatible with Lumia devices. Just to clarify, are you referring to Nokia Software Recovery tool instead of Nokia Suite?? Please check this link: Nokia Software Recovery tool
Hope to hear feedback from you soon.

  • Dynamic DataGrid columns

How can I get this example to wok with <mx:HTTPService>
insead of the inline <mx:XML> ?
    Dynamic DataGrid columns
Example of how to dynamically create DataGridColumns
    A completely dynamic DataGrid example.
This example uses the xml from the Flexstore example. It
examines the first product node and uses that to create the
definitions for the columns. There is some example logic to change
    the columns properties.
It then instantiates the GataGrid and its columns array,
assigns the properties, and then the dataProvider, and then adds
the dataGrid to the application container.
The example is fully self-contained, since a portion of the
catalog.xml file is included in the mxml.
