Nokia Xpress Problem

Hi guys there is a big problem with Nokia Xpress it's displaying improper image. First download the file here http://file4share.mywap.lt/files/833200/3nd_001.jpg
(left to right)

as you can see the picture 1 compare it with other image in the right side. The left image displaying only the upper left image of the other browser. I can't navigate the image since there is no option actually you can see the next/previous button below so it means scrolling to the bottom redirecting you to comments.
I love T9 Bar Phones | I used to be a Sony Ericson fan before but they leave the low end Phones so I have to switch to Nokia | LG Optimus L5 II and Nokia 206 3

Asha phones run on Java only, the installer is all the same, be it for the touchscreen phone or for the phone with the keypad. The app identifies the device type accordingly and works on touch, non-touch and touch & type phones.
So i expect all the devices will receive the update to this new browser, excluding if the device has memory restrictions.

hello there,
out of the blue the nokia xpress browser on my asha 501 does not start anymore: it just shows the blue background with the globe icon. when i press the back button, the following message appears:
"Something went wrong with running Nokia Xpress"
- I have subsequently updated the phone software to version 14.0.4
- I have run the troubleshooter tool under "installed programmes"
("Debug <Ovi Browser> connecting on port 2800")
- I have restarted the phone
nothing helped.
is anybody familiar with the problem and might assist with some help?

Hi Chris,
I had the same problem but I managed to solve this today (04/12).
Follow the steps below:
Be sure to backup your files.
1. Settings (configuration) > Reset phone
2. Click OK. Wait restart your phone.
3. Run Nokia Xpress and DON'T upload your backup.
I hope that your problem was solved.
And, after this situation, when your phone ask to keep the old files of the browser, click on No.

Am unable access my nokia xpress browser in my nok...

I updated my nokia xpress browser through a link which was sent through sms. When i tried to open the browser after a succesful update, it show showed conflicting items and the nokia xpress was listed as the conflicting item. After a while the browser stopped functioning or showing anything when i try to open it. Help me fix this problem since am now unable to use some other applications like whats app since this problem started and am also unable to log in to my nokia account. Thanks in advance.

In which country are you? This could be a Trojan Horse, Nokia has to track down.
Anyway, please, do a backup with the PC Suite or the Nokia Suite.
Then try Nokia Software Recovery Tool. Did that help?

I have always been able to go to mobile hotmail site and check my emails....
A few days ago, hotmail website changed slightly so now I get the following error message on my mobile phone when browsing to check my emails now, I get the error below. Do you know what I should do to solve this please?

Sync Mac/nokia xpress music 5310

Recently the synchronisation between my phone Nokia Xpress Music 5310 and Mac OsX 10.4.11 fails.
Before, I used i Sync with the plug-in advised on the Nokia support site, but now synchronisation with iCal fails and stays hanging allways on the same number of items. I tried to install the plug in on another Mac, and also there synchronisation fails...Now on my computer I have i Sync 2.4.
Anyone any idea why it stopped functioning? (before I really didn't have any problem with the synchronisation with iCal...) Any idea what to do about it?

Could be a possiblity that the ical is not responding to the sync command from isync.
Try the steps below and check if it works.
- Open Isync and then go to isync preferences-Reset Sync history.
- Remove the device from the isync application window
- Go to HDD/Library/Phone plugins and drag and drop the plugin to the trash.
- Restart Mac and then download the plugin from www.nokia.com/mac and check.
Alternatively you could also try the following steps.
- Go to Library/Calendars/Sue.ics, now drag and drop the sue.ics file to the desktop.
- Now double click the sue.ics file in the desktop it will ask if you want to import the ics file into an existing calendar or a new calendar. Select new calendar.
NOTE: Please make sure that you take a back up of all the calendar entries before performing the above steps.

No more useless Update Notifications and no more staying with the old version. An update to Nokia Xpress browser version 3.7 is available now for all Asha 501 owners.
The next time you see an update notification, just proceed and you'll get the update. If you don't see the notification again, open http://download.browser.ovi.com in your browser and download the update manually

Nokia 820 problems

Just bought two Nokia 820s, one for my wife and one for myself. Awesome phones except for a couple of issues. First, the GPS and Nokia Here Maps. When I am at home the maps show me in the right spot but reports (showing the address) that I am 3 houses down the street. When I am at work, the phone shows my position correctly but reports that I am in the Elementary School across the street. Hmmmm. gMaps does not have this problem and seems to have more detailed maps about my city and roadways. So it is a Nokia software problem? I like the Here functionality better, but the accuracy and detail are missing compared to other map services so I have to keep more than one app on my phone, using precious space. Second, I would really like to be able to sync my phone calendar with my google calendar and tasks. Right now I have to use third party apps so I have more than one calendar app (I prefer to use the one on my phone with live tiles!!!!) and more than one task app, etc... and more than one travel app. Also it would be nice to separate the people I want in my phone book from the people I have on social accounts (I will NEVER be calling most of the people on my facebook account, but there are people I call on a regular basis and I hate scrolling through or having to search a gajillion people to find who or what business I am looking for) and still have them listed, just seperately.
Thanks for listening and I sincerely hope these issues can be addressed.

Were you running gMaps on the same phone? If so then that would suggest the innacuracy in probably in the mapping data. This being the case, you should report the error to the map data provider using the link below.

the nokia express on my asha 201 is not functionig. It says conflicting applications when I try to use it. Itried resetting it but still to no avail. What should I do.

Unfortunately there is no way you will be able to get the information from your phone saved. In order to have that done the phone must be in working order.
The phone might however still be repairable and if Nokia cannot fix it for you then perhaps you can try a general cellular repair shop. If the problem is hardware related they might be able to fix it with out you losing your data stored on the phone. If they have to reload the firmware then you will loose everything on the phone unfortunately.

How to display chinese on Nokia Xpress 5300? I have chinese and english songs together in my phone. but the phone cannot display chinese characters. Any solutions?

1.My source code is edit on windows98SE/Chinese.
2.After compiler, My program can display Chinese on windows.
3.When change os to linux and use KDE, I can see Chinese in source.
4.If not create the "font.***.zh_TW" into /usr/.../lib,
AWT/SWING component can't display chinese.
5.If create the "font.***.zh_TW" into /usr/..../lib,
the AWT component can display chinese and SWING component can't.
6."LC_TYPE" is "zh_TW.Big5" and "LANG"="zh_TW.Big5".
7.If re-complier in linux, The SWING component can't display chinese.
8.When running, The system will display message
"Warning:Cannot covert string "-default-ming-medium-r-normal
-140---c-- big5-0".
9.use command "xlsfonts | grep big5" can find font "-default-ming-...-big5-0".
10.Check the "file.encoding" is "BIG5".

Welcome to the forum!
When did the issue start happening on your Asha 311? Do you get any error code when browsing the web using the Nokia Xpress browser? Try clearing the phone's browsing history by going to Internet > History > Settings > Clear privacy data. After that, try navigating the web using Nokia Xpress browser and see if it'll work.
Nokia Xpress browser is preinstalled on the phone. If deleting the browsing history and rebooting the phone didn't help, try the following steps:
1. Restore the original phone settings. Go to Menu > Settings > Restore factory settings > Settings only. And then, type your lock code (default is 12345). This won't delete any of your phone files.
2. Update or reinstall the phone's software using Nokia Suite. Just connect the phone to the PC via a compatible USB cable, and then launch Nokia Suite. Go to SW Update, and then choose Device Software Update. If there's no update available, select Reinstall. Get Nokia Suite from this link: Nokia Suite download.

Trouble updating Nokia Xpress Music

Hello,
I have been trying to update my Nokia Xpress Music 5800 and keep failing due to the error "Non-commercial software in your device"?
I am wanting to know know what i can do about this, and if there is a way to list the "non-commercial software" so i can do something about it.
It also states that it is unable to obtain Data Package at points.
I am also wondering what it means when all 3 lights stay on (Red, Green and White). Lights are set to turn off generally, but keep staying on. I seem to recall someone saying this was an error notification.

My trouble with the "Non-Commercial software" is not knowing which software (apps?) that is.
Is there any way of displaying the software on the phone and showing whether it is "non" or not.
Data Package - i did contact my service provider and they were having issues, thank you.
In regard to the lights, yes it is the 3 lights at the bottom. They are not set to be on, and i have checked the breathing light / notification settings. What is the "auto key guard lock", and what affect could it have?
The lights never used to stay on all the time, just momentarily when the phone was used.
