I have been receiving this error message when trying to export a Financial Report to excel. Version 9.3.0.1. The error appear to be hit or miss. Any advice would be appreciated.

The issue is caused by the following setup: Print Service has not been configured completely with PDF viewer.
Possibly a registry setting, browser setting or a "MIME type" registration that was required for MHTML documents. As a single file web page is also known as an "MHTML" document (HTML file with embedded graphics). The report generates an MHTML file and then gives the file the Office extension (i.e. '.xls', '.ppt' or '.doc').
To resolve:
1. Install PDF viewer and configure to Print Server
2. Retest the issue.
3. Migrate the solution as appropriate to other environments.

Here are the steps to replicate the issue I’m having when adding lists.asmx or any other SharePoint web service in InfoPath 2013. This web service opens fine in the browser from my desktop. My account is a farm administrator and is added to the
web application’s User Policy. I can use these services just fine using Nintex 2013 Workflow.
Open InfoPath Designer 2013.
Select Blank Form and click Design Form button.
Click “Data” tab.
Click “From Web Service” and select “From SOAP Web Service”
Enter https://mysiteurl.com/_vti_bin/lists.asmx?WSDL for the web service definition.
Click Next.
Windows Security window pops up.
Enter a credential. I tried both my account and the farm account. My account is a farm admin and is added to the web application’s User Policy with Full Control.
Click OK. It prompts for credential multiple times.

InfoPath cannot find or cannot access the specified Web Service description.
The file is not a valid XML file.
Not enough storage is available to process this command.
We have a project that is in need of these services using InfoPath so any help is greatly appreciated.

For your issue, try to the following methods:
Change your service binding in web.config to:binding="basicHttpBinding". It seems in VS it defaults to wsHttpBinding.
Replace all instances of "parameters" from the web service wsdl with the name "parameter"

Not a Valid EAR File?

One of our projects suddenly can't deploy their ear files. From one day to the next there were minor changes to a few jsp and java files and suddenly the application server complains that the ear file is 'not a valid ear file'. Interestingly the war file will deploy fine but not if packaged as an ear. The contents of the new ear file appear no different than the one generated the day before, not sure what the server doesn't like about it.
Is there any way to turn on a verbose option for deployment? Any way to tell exactly why the application server doesn't like the ear file?
Our temporary workaround is to manually unjar the ear and war contents over the previous install.

I have an older version of itunes on a separate drive. Everytime that there has been an update to itunes it will not let me update. Now I purchased an iphone and I hooked the phone up to the computer and it tells me I need to install the latest version of itunes. I downloaded to try it, but I keep getting an error message that says itunes.Resources is not a valid short file name. What can I do from here?

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.

Symptoms
While upgrading or uninstalling a Windows software application (such as iTunes for Windows or QuickTime for Windows), you may receive one of the following error messages:
file name is not a valid short file name
The folder path 'folder name' contains an invalid character.
... where file name could be the name of any file, and folder name could be the name of any folder.
In the case of software that uses advertised shortcuts (such as recent versions of iTunes for Windows or Safari for Windows), the messages may also appear when attempting to launch software that has already been installed.
Resolution
The error messages are usually caused by damage to the installation database for the application. Clearing the installation database for the application by using the Windows Installer CleanUp utility can usually get you past the error message.
(1) Click [here|http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301] first, and read the important information about the utility.
(2) Click the *Download the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility package now* link on that page to download a file titled msicuu2.exe.
(3) Open the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install it.
(4) In your Start menu click *All Programs* and then click *Windows Install Clean Up.* The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(5) Select the software you're getting the "not a valid short file name" or "invalid character" message for from the list and click Remove.
(6) Click OK in the confirmation dialog that appears.

(9) Restart the computer.
If you were getting the "not a valid short file name" or "invalid character" message when trying to upgrade or launch software, now try reinstalling the latest version of the software.
If you were getting the "not a valid short file name" or "invalid character" message when just trying to uninstall software, program files for the software in question will remain on the PC after it has been removed by the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. If you want to remove leftover program files, check in at the appropriate forum at [Apple Discussions|http://discussions.apple.com/index.jspa?categoryID=1] and ask which files can be safely removed.

Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:

Thank you, but I still haven't solved my problem. I tried the reset suggestion. But I cannot find print.print_printer preference. Maybe the word "printer" is to be replaced with the name of my printer. But because of the warning that making any changes is a very dangerous thing to do, I hesitated to do anything.
I have located the Print to file option, but it is not checked.
This problem did not exist before the Firefox update of about 6 months ago. Today I downloaded the latest Firefox update, hoping that would solve my problem, but it did not.

The requested file was not a valid font file

I have a serius problem with OTF fonts shipped with CS3 collection.
I had to reinstall windows to solve this issue a couple of months ago and now it's bugging me again.
When I double click on Minion (or other adobe OTF fonts) in fonts (control panel) i get this error:
"The requested file c:\windows\fonts\MinionPro-BoldCn.otf was not a valid font file"
And the worst thing is that the fonts are not being listed in any of the applications.
I opened my project today and I got an error saying that Minion pro bold was not found. I was working on that project yesterday. what could have heppened since then?
Please help me ASAP.

I hope some one can help me. It's not like my life depends on knowing this or not but I would really like to know what this clock is saying. It came in the mail from China a week ago and I have not been able to figure it out. I would guess because this LDU Company business is in China that it is Chinese, but you never know, maybe the clock was made in China for Russians? Not a valid freehand file - Help!

Hi, Can anyone please help me?
I was working on my portfolio in freehand 9 after importing
some new images. I clicked though some pages to view it all when it
became really slow. I decided to save the file and quit. When I
tried to open the file again an error came up saying 'it's not a
valid freehand file'
If anyone can help me it will save me a couple of weeks work.

This is a work stopper. It happens. No chance you have a back
up file still? Once the FH file is corrupted, there is no getting
back into it. I have experienced this several times over the years.
Once or twice was able to open the FH file on a different machine
in Illustrator, but not always.
If anyone else has won this battle- let us know how.

Error - 2048 not a valid movie file

hello,
I'm a NAPP member and had been following the photoshop TV casts on QT....however, now I get the error message 'error - 2048 not a valid movie file'...its an mpeg4 QT file, but I get the message whenever I attempt to play the downloaded file...or when I try to just watch the stream, it won't open the URL...these are the only movies that I'm having this problem with...as I can watch other movies from other sites w/o incident...NAPP hasn't replied to my inquiries except that they don't support the TV shows.
Any ideas?...would be appreciated...

Perhaps try downloading and saving a copy of the installer to a different PC. (If you're on a 32-bit Windows system, try to download on a different 32-bit Windows system.) Copy the iTunesSetup.exe installer to an external hard-drive, or a large-enough thumb drive or burn it to a CD-R. Carry the installer back to your PC, copy the installer to your hard drive. (Don't run the install from the ExHD, thumb or CD-R.) Start the install by doubleclicking the iTunesSetup.exe file.
