File copy does not work with exe files

I used BufferedReader and BufferedWriter to make copy of an exe file in local drive. Nothing was strange in this code. But I wonder the newly created exe file is denied "..exe is not a valid win32 application" by Windows. I could see the bytes are copied. Is that something like header of exe file is damaged etc ??

Readers and Writers are for text. For binary data use InputStream and OutputStream.

Exit button not working in exe file made with Aggregator

Hi,
I created an .exe file using Aggregator in full screen mode but the exit button on the skin doesn't work. When I click the exit button, the dislay hiccups (wobbles a bit) but the file keeps playing and doesn't close. This is especially problematic since this occurs in full screen. The only way to exit is by hitting the Escape key on the keyboard. The exit button works fine in individual .exe files of the modules; it's just in the aggregated .exe file that the exit button doesn't work. Is there anything special I need to do to make the exit button work with Aggregator?

Hi, this is more J2EE related stuff, SAP came with a solution but is taking ages to get the next page after the "Exit" button is pushed:
Go to VisualAdnmin >server(n) >Services >Configuration Adapter >
(Right side Pane) webdynpro >sap.com >tcwddispwda >PropertySheet
default.
Edit the property sheet and change the custom value for the property
"sap.locking.maxWaitInterval" to 200.
Note 1113811, explains why these kind of errors happen.
I still waiting for a better solution from SAP.

Can not open windows exe files.

I have enrolled at uni by correspondence and can not open any forums that have being created by adobe captivate ( mostly exe files ) with my mac. I do not run any windows with my computer the lecturer has emailed me that previous students have open these files by running them on a mac with a windows emulator.
Any help would be appreciated

Mac OSX can not run .exe files, since these are meant to be run in Windows (originally MS-DOS, but that's another story )
Apples BootCamp lets you run Windows on the 'Nativ' (real) hardware your Mac has, whereas any Virtualization app like Parallels, VMWare Fusion or VirtualBox runs Windows in a 'virtualized environment' (emulated) hardware.
While these Virtualization apps are great for running the typical Office programs, they are not best suited for any programs, that need direct hardware access like games for example.
Crossover Mac is an app which allows to run certain Windows programs without having to have/buy a Windows License/CD/DVD to install Windows.

Captivate 5 not rendering large exe files properly

Have imported large swf files into Captivate % (with seperate .wav files for audio). They all synch on the timeline at 24fps. for each slide. They look great in preview and when published to .exe they look fine on some computers. But we have encountered on at least 1 computer that the audio is out of synch with the video, and the video lags behind.
Would have not thought that this would be a problem with Captivate 5 exes.... Does anyone know a solution?
For preferences, I used Flash Player 9.

Sounds like the issue is something to do with either the specs or the codecs of the machine having problems.
The larger the SWF file and the more video you have, the more some machines will struggle to keep up with the decompression cycles.
Is the problem box of a lower spec (CPU speed etc) than the machines playing the content OK?
What version of Flash player is on each of the machines? (FP 10 handles video better)
Are the codecs up to date on that machine?
Find out what the differences are and you'll have your solution.

Exe file not visible on playback

We are using a combination of PowerPoint and Captivate to
demonstrate a proprietary system. For reasons we do not understand
the .exe file published from Captivate will sometimes open up in
front of the .pps but other times behind the .pps which makes it
invisible.
I was at the e-Learning Guild conference last week and
attended the stump the Captivate Guru's meeting. It was suggested
that I post here to get an answer.
Someone in that session thought perhaps there is some ini
code that might bring it to the front.

I'm wondering if the answer is as simple as this:
Check my theory out and see if it might have any validity.
Pay close attention to your steps.
I'm wondering if perhaps you see the .EXE pop in front of
PowerPoint on the first attempt. Then if you don't close the .EXE
and just click PowerPoint to call it forward, subsequent attempts
see that the .EXE is already open and simply begin playing the one
behind.
If indeed this is the case, I would think you could work past
it by simply ensuring that the End Action is to Close the project.
This way the .EXE would play, then close. The next attempt would be
certain to pop the .EXE in front of PowerPoint.
Just a theory at this point, so I may be way off base. Be
interested to see what actually results.
Oh, and out of idle curiosity, who were the participants on
this panel?

I tried downloading skype and firefox cancels the download. I refresh the download and it proceeds. But when I try to find
the skypeI get an error message that says

Exe file opens by txt

I have deinstalled quicktime from my mac pro and now i'm trying to install in again, but the file with the program is opened by text program instead selfunpacking exe. Please help mу to solve this problem.

As you are talking about an EXE, I suppose that you downloaded the Quicktime installer for Windows.
As the Mac does not know about EXE files, it might open these file types in TextEdit.
If you would like to install QuickTime X and/or QuickTime 7 for Mac, you would need to do this from the OS X install disk. Afterward run Software Update to make sure that you have the latest versions.

Transferring exe files across networks?

Hi,
I am developing a program to transfer any type of file from system to system.
I successfully did it for text(rtf,html,js...etc) files but its just not happening for exe files.
Am not able to do it for exe/application/setup files
For eg i transferred a goolgetalk setup file to another system. But on double clicking it, its not getting installed.
I mean that the file goes there, but it loses its function.
Kindly provide me with an insight into this..

Need urgent help. Execution of .exe files by calling from java program

This program can execute small .exe files which donot take inputs. But does not work for exe files that take input and just hangs. What could be the problem. If anyone helps me I would be very grateful.

Executing .exe files

Last week I could not open a .exe file so I tried to pick an application to open it with and it did not work. Now every time I try to open a .exe file it is using this same program that does not work. Does anyone know what I can tell the computer to open .exe files with? Thanks a ton.

If it is an exe file and your running osx, it's not going to work.
You can try crossover office (http://codeweavers.com), but that may or may not work.

Dynamics 2015 Installation error SetupServer.exe is not a valid Win32.exe application

My enviroment:
Hyper V virtual server
Windows Server 2008 R2 w/ SP1 running on a domain
IIS installed
SQL 2008 installed
8GB memory on Quad core i7
I extracted the installation files from the ISO and copied them to a local directory on the server. Right clicked on setupserver.exe and ran as administrator and I get the following error:
SetupServer.exe is not a valid Win32.exe application
I tested the same setup files on the Hyper V server and received no errors.
Any advise most appreciated.

Windows Server 2012 and SQL Server 2012 are the minimum requirements for 2015:

Can not see cFP-2220 after creating an exe file

I am using a cFP-2220 with LabView 2011. I can see the cFP-2220 with Max, the program I created runs in my PC but the data from the cFP-2220 it is slow to up date.
I access the cFP-2220 thru the network terminal and a net card in my PC.
I have created an EXE file to run in the PC for that test stand as a stand along program. The program runs but it does not see the cFP-2220 or any of the data been collected. The test stand PC does have MAX install. When I run MAX in the stand PC it sees the cFP-2220 and can read the data from the modules the PC is wire to the cFP-2220 thru a net card.

Sorry for the delay to respond... I do have installed the minimun files that are available Field Piont 6.0.10 and LabView RT 11 is part of them.
I also using share variables. The program VI runs fine in my PC but when I create the exe file and deploy on the test stand it asks fot the location of the FPLV,dll and the NI_TGT.dll and it can not read or write to any of the DAQmx vi's.
I accidently remove one my FP-SG-140 from the list of inputs, I did put it back but I damage how the share variables weere working I am getting and error -1950679023 and it does not see any of my inputs.
I have another question how do I down load the variables to the cFP-2220 that is another erros that shows up when I installed other files into the cFP.

The exe files are not responding on my computer. I can't get to firefox.exe - what can I do?

I downloaded a 7-zip file from CNET and it didn't do what I wanted and so I uninstalled it. However, all the "exe" files on the computer are now not accessible. I can get to Firefox thru a "shortcut" on my desktop for the local newspaper. The e-mail is working thru my yahoo account only. I purchased PC MightyMax and that didn't do anything for me. I've tried to restore the computer to yesterday or earlier and the restore window will not come up either.

In some cases, all EXEs being broken can indicate a malware infection.
Do you get a specific error message when you try to start a program?
I'm concerned that PC MightyMax itself might be an infection you need to remove, but let's come back to that issue.
