Not able to change normal login password through ssh root login remotely

I am able to login to serverb from servera as root user without password
as i have set the ssh key authentication between the two servers

But when i try to change a normal users login password it give me the following
error even as root user, can someone please let me know why it preventing
from a normal login password change though ssh even for a superuser account

You cannot "ssh passwd username" remotely, for one thing. Remember, the passwd command is going to ask for input from the terminal.
Also, look into the pfexec man page because you might need to change roles in order to change the password on the remote system.

User is not able to change his own password... Only DBA can change users password ??

I have this problem today.I am using Oracle 8.1.7 on Solaris 2.8
A Oracle user say " SCOTT" trying to change his password but could not.. he gets the followling message
SQL> alter user scott identified by abc123;
alter user scott identified by abc123
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-28003: password verification for the specified password failed
Scott's profile has password_verfiy function. Hence i thought abc123 password was not matching with the password verify condition. Surprisingly, what ever password SCOTT tries with, he could get the same error message and could not change his password.. Ultimatly SCOTT could never change his password. How is it possible ??
It is noteworthy to mention that if i give DBA role to SOCTT then he can change his password with abc123 or any thing that satisfies with password verification function.
Now Only a user who has DBA role or a DBA could change passwords..
Can somebody through some light on it and explain what corrective action to be taken so that Users can change their password without DBA's interreption.

it clearly says that password has to match the complexity specifications. You will not be able
to change password without meeting the complexity requirements.
DBA's can make the change to the password because if DBA's can not change the password, it could lock
you out of the database (all users including the DBA's) and you will not be able to access the
database.
Try removing the password verify function and see if you can then change the password succssfully.

The verify password function is standard oracle function and I do not think the current problem is any way related to the rules that were framed in verify password function. The key point here is a user could not change his own password. But a DBA or a user who has ALTER USER system privs.. can do so..

I have the same problem -- no email arrives when I try to reset my password.
I'm syncing my iPhone 5 to iTunes and keep getting messages about all the content that will not sync because "not authorized."
So I try to login to my Apple ID
- password is wrong
- follow the link to reset password
- chose "send email" but no email arrives (I even check 'junk' folder to be sure)
- go back to reset password and try "Answer security questions"
- says my DoB is wrong but I'm sure DoB is correct and there's no way forward
So what is the solution? Re-purchase all the content that won't sync?

User not able to Change Password in Webaccess

We are running GroupWise 7.0.3 HP3. We have one user who is not able to change her password in Webaccess. Whenever she tries, she get the following error message in Webaccess
Ldap Password Change Failed. Contact your system administrator.
When I look at the POA screen on the server, I see the following error message.
LDAP Error: 53.
Her account is not disabled, expired or locked. I get the same error message when the account has an unlimited number of network aconnections.
If I change the password in ConsoleOne and log into the account, I get prompted change my password because it has expired.

Trying to login to icloud and its showing a different email adrees and im not able to change it

Trying to log on to icloud (on my Phone) to update, but is stating a differnet email address and I'm not able to change it.

If you are unable to remember your password, security questions, don’t have access to your rescue address or are unable to reset your password for whatever reason, your only option is to contact Apple ID Support, upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.
You will need to show patience with the procedure and be prepared to demonstrate without question that the account belongs to you. Don’t expect access to be restored immediately and if you aren’t the owner of the Apple ID registered to the device the account won’t be reset.

Not able to change the password using FNDCPASS

I am not able to change password using FNDCPASS. I am getting follwoing error while executing following command with APPLMGR user ( before that I have source the .env file ) (OS-Linux)

1) We are not able to see any transaction data but we are able to see org values.
2) We are not able to change the roles from ERM.

'System Preferences' gets hanged. Not able to change any settings.

I'm not able to change my wallpaper. Main issue is as soon as I open 'System Preferences', the window opens but I'm not able to click on anything. Not able to change any settings. Tried restarting but no help.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this exercise is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. First, disconnect all wired peripherals except keyboard, mouse, and monitor, if applicable, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including your login items.
Launch the application(s) and test. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.)

Not able to change UOM in material master for a material

I have a issue with changing of the UOM in the material master , IN MMO2 after changing the UOM , in Display error , its showing the error as : The base unit of

There is no stock in the previous as well as current period , and deleted the PR , still i am not able to change

Since Gross data of material is in the basic view, it is common across plants , whereas, IMs are normally designed to have material masters at plant level.
We may have same material in different IMs with different plants. Therefore changes of the basic view fields are then contained in multiple IMs. SAP advises to have a larger IM or sequential activation of IMs.

I'm not able to change any icons, especially drive icons, since the update to OS 10.8.3.
Could please anyone help me? If also possible i would like to change the default drive icons to woodlike icons so they fit to my computer even better.

Just browsing through the internet and I couldn't find a Tutorial which showed how to change the Finder icon in dock in SNOW LEOPARD. Here are the steps:
(You will need to log in as root)
1. Go on google and look for the icon you want and copy it
2. Navigate to Macintosh HD>System>Library>CoreServices.
3.Click on the Finder app and press "CMD+I" to open 'Get info' for Finder.
4. On the top left there should be icon next to the text Finder.
5. Click on the icon and Press "Cmd+V" to paste your new icon there
6. Close the window.
7. Go back to Macintosh HD>System>Library>CoreServices and look for the app called "Dock"
8. Right click "Dock.app" and select "Show Package Contents" and open "Contents"
9. Look for the Image called "finder.png" and copy it somewhere for back up.
10. Go to the image u copied and change the name to finder.png
11. Replace the finder.png in the Dock.app with your new one
12. Close all the windows
13. Open Terminal
14. Type this code in:
sudo rm /var/folders/*/*/-Caches-/com.apple.dock.iconcache
15. Then kill Dock using this command:
killall Dock
16. Once the Dock reopens you're done!

What do you mean 'my iPad will not let me change my security passwords' ? You are following the instructions on the HT5312 page that you postedi.e. if you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) on your account then steps 1 to 5 half-way down that page should give you a reset link.
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer your questions) then you will need to contact Support in your country to get the questions reset (these are user-to-user forums).

When they've been reset (and if you don't already have a rescue email address) you can then use the steps half-way down the HT5312 page that you posted from to add a rescue email address for potential future use
