Not able to connect db using developers(plsql developer,sql developer)

Hi,
I used to work on plsql developer, but since from few days i am not able to connect to it, so i have installed sql developer still i am not able to connect to database.
I can connect to the database using sql*plus. dont know what happend suddenly i have not changed any settings.
I am getting the error when connecting sql developer: Status : Failure -Test failed: IO Error: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection
when connecting through plsql developer getting the error: ora-12545 connect failed because target host or object does not exist

In you post on the other forum include your 4 digit Oracle version and the version of SQL Developer that you are using.
Also provide the step by step details of how you are trying to create the new connection.
The error message is telling you that you are using a server or host name that does not exist.

Not able to connect sqlplus in linux

Hi,
I am using Enterprise Linux 5. I am not able to connect database using sqlplus.
After entering sqlplus command, getting following error:
[ra10g@blue ~] sqlplus / as sysdba
/oracle/oa10g/10204/bin/sqlplus: Line 41: syntex error near unexpected token 'set'
/oracle/oa10g/10204/bin/sqlplus: Line 41: 'if ("$ORASID" == '') set ORASID="*"'
I had checked all the enviorment variables.
ORACLE_HOME = /oracle/oa10g/10204
ORASID = orcl
LD_LIBRARY_PATH = /oracle/oa10g/10204/lib:/lib:/usr/lib
Please give me any solution regarding this.

export Oracle_SID=orclIf you actually did this, then you will fail. The variable is ORACLE_SID and the variable name is case sensitive.
If the database was already created with the SID orcl, check whether the SID exists in oratab (command -> tail /etc/oratab) and then you can source the oraenv file as follows
. oraenv
orcl
Note that sourcing is using the dot (period) and space before command. If you do not know what "source a file" means in bash, I strongly encourage you to spend some time with the bash tutorial on the net.

The DKU-2 cable is no longer supported and so cannot be guaranteed to be compatible with current PC Suites, you should be using either your current CA-53 or the CA-70.
Have you had the chance to connect any other phone with the PC using this cable? This would test if thr cable itself might be faulty.
Otherwise remove PC Suite, PC Connectivitiy Solution and Connectivity Cable Drivers from control panel, run the PC Suite Cleaner program that you can get from the PC Suite support pages on the web site, then reinstall everything.

IPad 2 - I am not able to connect my iPad 2 to my tv anymore using AV adapter.

What is wrong with my iPad 2? I'm not able to conect my iPad to my proyector or tv anymore using AV adaptor. Is there something wrong with my iPad?
I tried it with my wife's iPad 2 and it was the same result. I was not able to connect her iPad to my TV. Niether TV or a proyector couldn't find the device.

Sounds like the one common thing is the adapter. The cheaper, non apple branded ones tend to fail.
Try another adaptor before worrying about your ipad.

11g R2(11.2.0.2)-Not able to connect using SID - Win 7 32 bit

Hi Experts,
I have installed 11gR2(11.2.0.2) on Win 7 32 bit OS.
I am able to start database and listener services without any problem. ORACLE_BASE and ORACLE_HOME variables are set.
I am even able to connect to database using "sqlplus user/pass". (With ORACLE_SID variable set)
However, sqlplus command hangs when I try to connect using SID "sqlplus user/pass@o11gr2".
(No error, after waiting for >20 minutes I have to kill the command.)

This was working earlier. One day it stopped working all of a suddent and I am not able to connect using SID till now.
I tried re-installing in different home multiple times. But no luck even after disabling firewall completely.

I created a new account called SURI and tried to use the user account HR's password using VALUES clause. I was able to alter the password but not able to connect SURI with hr password.
Please see the version details below. And the SQL statements which I have tried.

SuriYou can only do it for the same user, as the password is a hashed value that includes the username as part of the hashing (It's either the username or some internal object id or something). So using the hashed value against another user won't work.

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app

    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

Saw this on another post.
Applecare Senior Advisor Txx Bxxx (I have his contact info in an email he just sent) just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it! It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

Check out the articles below to troubleshoot issues with connecting to Wi-Fi. Start with creating a new Network Location and then search for a Wi-Fi network and if that does not work, then go through second article to troubleshoot the issue further.

Looking at the error message "The Network Adapter could not establish the connection" , It appears hostname and port may be incorrect. Review the targets.xml under E:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\SAP_solman_SDB\emd and
emoms.properties under E:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\SAP_solman_SDB\config folder to make sure host ( sap_solman) and port (1527) are correct.
As far as setting the environment variables goes, you can go to control panel -> system -> advanced -> environment variables and set the ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID

You didn't install Oracle correctly, especially you didn't run the root.sh and rootpre.sh scripts.
If you would have read the error message at all, and researched it, you would have known this.

Unable to connect to WIFI- I have been using touch in India and it was working fine. Now I moved to USA and its not able to connect

I have done RESET network setting, reset the IPOD with no data lost and all- still not able to connect
All other devices at my room are connecting and everything is fine.
