Not able to install Windows 8.1 Update for x64-based Systems (KB2919355)

My laptop is dell vostro 1014.I have upgraded my laptop to windows 8.1 pro.I am not able to install Windows 8.1 Update for x64-based Systems (KB2919355)I got the following errors from windows event viewer:
Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x800F0922: Security Update for Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 8.1 for x64-based Systems (KB2964444) without KB2919355.
Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x800F0922: Windows 8.1 Update for x64-based Systems (KB2919355).
Anyone knows how to fix this error?

To install WMF 5.0 Preview on server 2012 R2, please make sure the version of .Net Framework on server 2012 r2 is 4.5.
And manually install the package and check if it can work.
And please also note, WFS 5.0 preview seems only can install on en-us windows now, for more detailed information, please check this article:

To my knowledge there are no official MS Windows DVDs that contain both the 32 and 64 bit versions. There is a way to make a USB thumb drive that has both bit version on it but AFAIK this can't be done on a DVD disc even with a Dual Layer DVD disc.
For the Windows installer to function, actually boot the system to the install routine, certain files have to be on a certain area of the DVD disc. If by chance you really do have a DVD disc that contains both bit versions your Mac is only seeing the 32bit version on that disc.
You'll need to get a Real MS DVD of just the 64bit version or download the 64bit version ISO from My Digital Life and burn it to a DVD disc.

Hi - I am not able to install windows 7 in my imac (latest version). When I try using the bootcamp, it gets stuck at the place where I am asked to partition the hard disk for the windows system and does not go any further. Has anyone experienced such a scenario?

This is one method.
1. Remove 240G SSD from Optibay.
2. Re-install Optical drive.
3. Boot from 240G SSD using an external enclosure/SATA-to-USB connector. You can also boot from an external flash drive as mentioned in OS X: Installing OS X on an external volume - Apple Support.
4. Run BCA and format the 128G for Windows completely.
5. Install Windows.
6. Remove the Optical drive and install the 240G SSD and test.

Please also check Event Viewer if it identify this problem.
In addition, also check Device Manager, if similar driver already installed, try to uninstall them and reinstall new driver again for test.

Boot Camp not able to install Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit!!???

Guys I'm using Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2 & I'm having a problem installing Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit through boot camp. When I insert the windows installation disc it creates the partition but as soon as it restarts to proceed the installation, it hangs up there saying 'No Bootable Device. Please Insert Installation Disc and press any key to continue'. But when i was previously using Mac OS X Snow Leopard, I installed Windows 7 using the same disc and it proceeded without any issues. Can any body give me a solution to it please because I want Windows 7 in boot camp and I do not want to use it in any virtual machine like parallels desktop!!! I AM USING iMAC 2010 so its quite new!!!!!!

I am having the same problem. I have a very recent 27" iMac 3.4g i7 and I am trying to install Windows 7 64bit upgrade.Also running OSX 10.7.2. It also stalls out after expending files reporting that there are missing files with a error code 0x80070057. I was trying to install a fresh complete version but had bought the upgrade.. I had vista on another machine but had taken it off and was going to use the key for the upgrade. No windows had as of yet been installed. I later tried to install Vista as a way to upgrade to Win7,which went ok, but when I tried to upgrade to Win 7 64bit, I couldn't. I have tried this multiple times without success and have removed the boot camp partition after each failed attempt... Any Suggestions?? Thanks in advance

I bought a Lenovo essential G500 laptop today from flipkart (3rd gen I5, 4GB Ram, 500GB, DOS). I tried installing windows 7 home edition but it is not getting installed. When i try to select a drive to Install it. I get the following message "The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, windows can only be installed in GPT disks". How do I go about resolving this.

Hello and welcome,
When you get to that point in the install go to advanced disk options and delete all the partitions. If that doesn't work try SHIFT-F10 to bring up a command prompt. Use the DISKPART command (Google is your friend) to clean the drive.
Another option is to go to BIOS and boot in legacy mode instead of UEFI.

Photoshop will not open after installing window's 7 updates

I'm in a bit of a dilema, any help is appreciated. My Windows 7 has updates. When it does this, Photoshop will not run. I have reverted the PC back before the update and Photoshop runs fine. The only thing is that the PC will update itself unless I turn the automatic updates off. Does anyone have a fix for this? Photoshop CS2, running on Windows' 7 Home Deluxe edition.

This is the error message I am receiving. A window pops up when I try to run Photoshop. At the top of the window is the directory entry
C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS3\Photoshop.exe
X Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.
The only problem is that there is no access permissions. I just did the system update and now Photoshop will not run. Any help is appreciated.

first - please excuse my english if there are maybe some mistakes, it´s not my foreign language - i´m from Germany and want to give some response for all of those, who got the problem with the install-problem for this software.
I also got the problem with different errors while trying to install the actual version of link on my computer (Win 7 64bit).. I´ve got a previous version of linked installed while trying to update - main error during the installation was the missing network source - the installer meant.
I´m working in the 2nd-Level IT-Support, so sometimes i know what to do..
After many many tries and searching for potential solutions in different forums i got the following solution:
A clean deinstallation of the previous version is highly recommended. If you are not able to deinstall it through the control panel, try to uninstall it with a different uninstaller - in my case the IObitUninstaller from PortableApps was helpful. http://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/iobit_uninstaller_portable
It used to try the normal Deinstallation, when this is not successfull he is looking for another way where you´ll get listed all of the link files on your installation folder and your registry - try to deinstall it that way (be careful, backups are usefull..). If this also doesn´t work - give the microsoft fixit install and install tool one try - http://support.microsoft.com/mats/program_install_and_uninstall - i´ve got this link from another thread here.
Somehow this wasn´t the complete solution. After the Deinstallation (i suggest that one of these should be successful) the latest version doesn´t like to install. Different errors on my machine, f.e. network source not available, another try got the respond "there´s already another installation running" .... and many more .. forced me to check the possible reasons. With the process explorer i checked the running tasks - there was the windows installer still running some kind of installation of link.... try to kill these tasks (in my case this wasn´t successful - they are restarting immediately) - maybe you´re luckier then me. If it won´t work - Reinstallation of the installer is a possible solution. The Way you could to that you´ll find here: http://www.optimize-your-pc.org/fix-windows-installer-error-1719 - please be careful if you try to use the reg-tweak as described. It is also possible that you´re not able to find the key described /HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENT CONTROL SET\SERVICES\MSIserver\WOW64)- don´t worry ´bout that. I also needed to reinstall the installer.
at least - the source file i´ve downloaded also does not work. Tried to download it a few times and the installation still didn´t work. After that i tried to use an alternate Source for downloading.
After all these steps i was able to install it in the latest version.
maybe this helps the people with the same problem out there.

Do you mean the computer wants to continually install another copy every time when shutdown?
Please make sure we have enough space in the system drive(where the system OS installed), perform a cleanup of that drive(ensure we have ), then take a try to boot into

I'm not able to install the new Java update

I have a MacPro 2.8 Intel Core Duo 8GB 500GB HD with Mac OS 10.6.8 installed and every time that I try to install the sugested update from my mchine I receive an error message as: " The update could not be expanded, and may have been corrupted during downloading. The update will be downloaded and checked again the next time the Software Update runs"
I already restarted more than three times and cleaned all system with Onyx but continue to receive the same message.
Is there anybody there with the same issue that I'm having? Any help?

Check out all software you have that uses Java, like software that that uses database connections (using JDBC).
Several people are reporting that the latest Java update (_29) breaks their critical software.
The solution for at least one was to re-install a "combo updater" from and earlier age (earlier than the _29 update) to re-instate the previous Java.

It looks like you will have to uninstall "libaio1", but I don't know for sure and don't have Ubuntu 10.4 available right now to play with.
Sorry but the instructions are for Ubuntu 10.10, not 10.4, which is different.
If you need to install XE on Ubuntu, I'd rather suggest 11gR2 XE:
