Not able to Sync Ipod with library in Itunes 10.5

I am using iTunes 10.5. Whenever I try to sync my Ipod with the library, It says "backing up " but the progress stops in the middle and does not proceed at all. If I force stop the itunes, next time my Ipod is not detected. I have to reboot the system to make it detect again. Any Solutions?

Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive (works the same with an SD card) into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

  • Sync iPod with library on remote computer

I would like to find out how to sync my iPods to my home computer while traveling. My iTunes library is on an iMac running 10.5.5. I have Back to My Mac configured and have enabled screen, file and cd/dvd sharing on the iMac.
I have successfully logged in to the iMac via Back to My Mac from my MacBook Pro and would like to sync with my home iTunes library. I've tried using Spaces unsuccessfully-when I connect my iPod to the MacBook, it tries to sync with the MacBook.

This is not so much an iPod issue as it is a general computer issue. Apple does not provide any options for you to copy music back from an iPod to a computer, so you will need to find some way to get into the hard drive on your old computer if you want to copy all the music to your new computer.
Depending on your setup, you may be able to do this yourself, you may be able to get a tech-savvy friend to do it, or you may need to take it to a computer repair place. The easiest way of doing it is to take the hard drive out of your old machine and plug it into your new machine, and access it as a secondary hard drive. Almost all computer-savvy people should be able to help you with that.
That may still not solve your problem, though. If you saved your music, on your old computer, anywhere in your 'My Documents' folder (or anywhere that's part of your user directory rather than general file storage), you may not be able to access it externally, and you may need to get Windows working again on that old machine somehow, to be able to get into it.
Without knowing more of your specifics, I can't provide any more help than that, but I hope you'll find it useful. If the music is important to you, I'd recommend talking to any computer-expert friends you have, or taking the machine to a computer repair place. If it's not that important to you, or you have the CDs it came from and can just re-rip it, that may take you less time and hassle.

Have you tried these several things?
++Reset your iPod (hold the Menu and center buttons together).
++Put your iPod in disk mode, then connect it to your computer.
++Try restarting your computer, then connect your iPod.
++Save your iTunes library, and completely reinstall the program through "Contro Panel -> Add or remove programs" area.
++unplug all other USB devices that are connected to your computer, then connect your iPod.
++See if your iPod is low on charge. If it is, eject it through the Safely Remove Hardware program, and leave it connected for an hour. After that, unplug it, and connect your iPod again in disk mode (see above for details).
++Close iTunes. Try going to Task Manager, to the "Processes" tab. Find these names: "iPodSErvice.exe", "iTuneshelper.exe", and "iTunes.exe". End all of these processes. Reset your iPod, connect it, and open iTunes.
++Have you tried resetting your iPod while connected to your computer?
++Have you tried assigning your iPod a different drive letter? See the steps here -> Assigning your iPod a different drive letter
++Have you tried to complete all the Five R's? REad more about it here -> the Five R's
++Also, you may want to consider going back to iTunes 6. You can find the download of the previous version here -> Download iTunes 6.0.5
++All the suggestions in this article? -> iPod is recognized by Windows, but not iTunes
++Also, see if this is a possibility -> Fast user switching
I'm not sure if you've tried those or not, cause that's just some possibilities I can think of now. If you have any problems with those, post back with the details of your issue, and I'll try to help.

  • HT203175 Not syncing ipod with whole of itunes library

My iTunes library on my PC has more music on it than the iPod - when I sync, it does nor sync with the whole of the library - why? - help?

Good morning! I just have a couple questions so I can help. What kind of iPod do you have? What is the capacity? (Example: 16G, 32G, etc...)
Also, how much music are you trying to sync, memory wise?

  • Syncing iPod with library sometimes cripple the length of random songs.

    Hi!
This is my problem: Random songs sometimes are not at their full length on the iPod even though they are complete in my iTunes library on my PC. After a forced sync the songs that previously weren't complete appears complete but suddenly another song or more aren't complete. I have alot of free space on my iPod and I've set the iPod to automatically sync with my library and playlists. This problem seems to appear a bit now and then but not in any regular way as far as I've seen yet. The iPod software is the latest (3.1) and so is iTunes. My iPod is the one with dock connector and click wheel (40GB version). OS is Win XP PRO SP2. Does anyone have any idea?
This is one example: One song that is 2 min 58 sec long appeard as only 2 min 4 sec on the iPod. It played without any problem until 2:04 when it ended...on my PC it was 2:58 and played it's whole length. I restarted the iPod, rebooted (select +play/pause) but no success. Re-syncning helped. That particular song had been complete on my iPod earlier...it seems arbitrary =)
I've no weird plugin or 3rd party program. Just iTunes.

This is the Mac OS X Technologies > iSync forum. iSync is for syncing Contacts and Calendars to mobile phones and PDAs. It has nothing to do with iPods or iTunes.

  • HT1386 i have an extensive music library on my itunes from 100 years ago.  since then, my email address, etc. have changed at least 3 times.  i am not able to sync my iphone with my itunes - shows no music on my phone.  don't want to have to re-purchase m

I have a current (extensive) itunes library established years ago with an ipod classic.  My email address, etc. has changed many times since then and I am not able to sync my music from my itunes to my iphone 5c.  I'm sure it's due to a different email address/apple ID.  How can I get them to sync so as not to have to re-purchase all of my music and podcasts?

The extensive itunes libary that was on an ipod classic likely as not came from an itunes library. The music that is on the itunes library will sync to an iphone once the iphone has been authorized through the itunes store. If it is as you say that all this music came from an 'itunes library' then there should not be an issue syncing this music to an alternate device.
If on the other hand this music came from multiple itunes libraries. It will then be a matter of logging in with each apple id login which was used when purchasing the songs to then re-downloading the songs to that specific apple id login. Once you have purchase music from the itunes store using an apple id login the music then follows the apple id virtually indefinately.

  • I restored my iphone6 from iCloud. How come I'm not able to sync music on computer?

I restored my iPhone6 from iCloud. How come I'm not able to sync it with my computer? When I plug in my phone to my computer (PC), the "Welcome to your new iPhone" screen comes on. And my only two options are to set up as new phone or restore from an older phone. But I don't want to restore at all because my phone is already all set up. Is there a way to bypass the "Welcome to your new iPhone" screen?m Any help would be appreciated!

I'm assuming your using iTunes to sync your iPhone correct?   When you plug your iPhone into your PC/Mac..Open iTunes.  Go to music tab.  Pick the music you want on your iPhone.  Press Sync.  . I'm assuning you've done thiis before so I apologize if I sound like I'm telling you something you've already done.  If you can please give more information it would be easier to solve your problem.

    HHHHHEEEELLLLPPPP!!!! PPPLLLEEEAAASSSEEE!!!!!!

You buy one and only one download.
As it should have been transferred to your computer when you synced, you can contact itunes support and ask for an exception.

well i have to be honest, but i don't know if it the vista you use has any significance for this. but you can try.
    okay follow:
1: click "start" on the status line on the buttom of your screen.
2: then click on "all Programs" and find "Accessories" and find the "command prompt"
3: Right click with your mouse "command prompt" and click on "run as administrator"
(as you has click'd on "run as administrator", "command prompt" should appear.)
4: when it appears you need to type this "netsh windsock reset"
5: wait for your computer to registrer the command you gave it, and restart your computer.
then erverything should be pretty much as good or better then new.
