Not accepting Invites
I'm recieving invitations from my Google Calendar account that iCal is rejecting with the following error message:
"There was a problem recieving this event invitation
Someone invited you to an event using an email address that isn't on your "me" card in Address Book. Find your email address in the following list and add it to your card in Address Book."
First of all, it was sent to my gmail address, which must be correct because I received the email.
Secondly, there is no list of addresses to add.
I'm using Mail v2.1 and iCal v2.0.5.
What gives?
I see there was a thread about this issue having to do with Entourage, but it has been archived with no apparent solution.
I've seen this occur in two scenarios.
1) As the error message indicates, the email address set in the attendee field doesn't match any of the addresses in your AddressBook "me" entry. Easiest way to fix this is to add that email address to the email addres list for that entry.
2) It also displays that message for entirely unrelated problems that it has parsing the ical event. One thing I've noticed is that it does not accept changes to reoccurring events. For example, an outlook user creates a reoccurring event and invites you. iCal is happy with this and accepts it. If the creator then modifies the event, such as the Notes, for the ENTIRE series - that is, he/she makes a global change, then iCal is happy with this and accepts it. However, if he makes a change to a SINGLE entry (for example, editing Notes to reflect the meetings agenda), iCal complains with the above, totally misleading error message.
There are three solutions to bug (2):
1) Apple fixes iCal
2) Ask creator of event to avoid editing a single event reoccurrence.
3) Hack the .ics file. Removing the REOCCURRENCE-ID field will do it.

So, is there any possibility to work around the issue?Currently we are not aware of any workaround for this issue. One previous report of this issue - with iCalendar 8 (Yosemite) - showed that the Calendar Server was correctly processing the event. Given that the only thing that changed was the client software, it is recommended to open a support ticket with Apple to report this issue.

Accepted invitations not showing in iCal, but do show in gCal
I use Apple Mail & iCal as front-ends to Google Apps mail (gMail) & calendar (gCal). I am using the CalDAV interface to gCal. I have iCal set up to sync 1) with my gCal and 2) with 2 other gCals, of business associate, via iCal delegates. Both Mail and iCal are setup so that event (meeting) invitations receive via email and then accepted at placed into the iCal calendar that syncs with "my" gCal.
The problem is that while all of the accepted invites show up as scheduled events in gCal (as viewed via the Google web interface) some these invites/ event do not show up in iCal. This is strange on two counts. First, it must be iCal that is "telling" gCal about the new events, via sync. Second, subsequent syncs between iCal and gCal still don't bring visibility to the event is iCal.
Thanks in advance for any assistance with this problem. There are more than one Applications folders. At the root level of your system is an Applications folder for all users, where most installations go. Every user, including you, also has a separat Applications folder.
Check all of them. -
Communication error, user "did not accept your invitation"
I think need some help. I have read many of the topics, however i have not been able to address my issue. Let me start by saying I am new to Macs (about 3 weeks) and not very technical. I have a Imac and also running time capsule as my wireless connection. As instructed i obtained an AIM account and attempted to do video chat, however when I try i get a communication error, user "did not accept your invitation". I have spent about an hour with apple tech services and have been able to successfully connect to the Apple test buddy. In fact my friend was also able to connect to the Apple test buddy. I have not tested a connection with anyone else.
I would greatly appreciate any help with this issue.Hi Thank you for responding,
The message says that there was a communication error - did not receive response from the other person. On the other side they received the same error. Below is the error log
Yes, Time Capsule sits between my modem and my computer. I also have a Voice over Internet phone.
The entire set up is as follows.
Internet modem (make; Ambit) to Voice over Internet Modem to Time Capsule (set as router - share a single IP address using DHCP & NAT)
as for setting up time capsule - i set it to "i don't have a wireless network and wanted to create one"
I have not attempted to reach anyone in table 2 - I will do so and let you know
my error log -- again thanks for your help

ICloud not accepting Google Calendar Invites
I am having problems accepting invites received from Google calendar in iCal on my iMac. Every time I recieve an invitation in Mail and try to add it to iCal, I receive the error below. The invite will be added to my calendar but will not sync back to iCloud and is eventually deleted from iCal on my iMac. The only way that I can get these invites to work is to accept them on either my iPad or my iPhone. Invitations that I create on my iMac sync to iCloud with no problems. How do I get this to work properly?
Same problem here. iCal seems to completely ignore my default calendar setting. I have yet to discern a pattern as to when it decides to use my default and when it decides to use my google calendar as the default. I think that when I receive an invitation on my google email id, it decides to use the corresponding calendar.
I've turned off all of my auto-accept settings in both mac mail/ical and in google calendar. So I now accept all of my invitations manually. Every time I accept I have to go and open it to see what calendar it ended up on and change if necessary. But then I get the error you reported. And I then often end up with 2 entries. One on my iCloud calendar and another on my google calendar which I can't delete.
Drives me crazy. Next step, I think I'll try accepting all my invitations on my iPhone. -
C7 Mail for exchange not able to accept invitation...
I am not able to accept invitations via mail for exchange.
I see the icons in the incoming emails that it is a invitation but I am not able to accept it.
I can answer the email but not like on my 61i or N97 that I a accept/deny may emails.
In the product description the functionality is available but he button does not show up.
Any hints are appreciated.Hi hypotenuse,
Thank you for looking at this forum. I will answer you question below, please let me give you the full picture first.
I am a business user and need the MfE urgently and so far I refused to buy a Apple or Google phone (data leaks). Based on Nokia's long experience, I don't understand is why the status of the MfE is so poor. Let me give you some examples:
1) Security Password
After activating MfE I was forced to set security password, including a letter. I thought it is a company rule, but IT department told me they are not requesting this. My colleague is using iPhone, he is not forced to use a letter.
2) Meeting Invitations can't be responded
I have seen you response and I am looking forward to see the next release very soon(?).
3) Hook-off
When the phone is locked by security password (default) and I receive a call I can't access telephony application, e.b. to mute the microphone or to turn on the speakers. I need to enter security password first which is painful.
Here is my wish list for enhacements:
a) Longer standby time. It seems that the phone is consuming a lot of energy in idle mode. I switched off all features, no screen saver, black screen, lowest screen brightness, GPRS only, manual sync only .... and max 3 days between recharging. Maybe not a MfE issue.
b) Simple switch for scheduled/manuel mode (due to a) - maybe via profiles? I think the profile concept has good potential.
c) Top level access to synchronisation command. Due to a) I use manual sync and it would improve usability to have direct access to the sync command. Today I need to open the Options menue and select Sync.Just as an idea, clicking 'Mail for Exchange' at the top could trigger sync.
d) Configurable character size in Mail. In most cases the displayed number of characters of the Email subject does not allow me to understand it. If I could choose a smaller character size of the subject only, I would not need to open the email. -
IPhone will not accept iCal invitations
My iPhone will not accept iCal invitations

My iPhone 4 will not accept my sim card, I tried to put it in my wifes iPhone 4 and it worked. Has anybody had the same problem? Please let me know how to get around this.
There are far too many possibilities for anyone to guess the real problem. Where are you located? Where did you get the phone? Is it carrer locked? If it is, are you using a SIM for that carrier? Is your wife's phone carrier locked? If so is it to the same carrier as your phone? Have you activated your phone with iTunes? (It won't work with any carrier until it has been activated). -
Hi everyone,
We are running on Exchange 2007. I have a user who is attempting to book a meeting on a calendar and is receiving the error, "Your meeting request was declined. This resource does not accept meetings longer than 1440 minutes." I know
this is related to the "MaximumDurationInMinutes" property returned from Get-MailboxCalendarSettings in the Exchange Management Shell. This value is currently set to 0, which I understand to mean unlimited. The user did not experience
this issue with other meetings and there are several meetings scheduled that exceed this limit. I have included the results of "Get-MailboxCalendarSettings" and the email response (with some identifiable information removed) below. Does
anyone have any idea why this error might still be occurring and where it would pull the 1440 minute time limit from if it is not set?

I find related information as below:
The default options allow all users to book resources if they are within the set policies (i.e. up to 180 days in the future, up to 1440 minutes in duration, etc.), and will reject all other meetings. In the context of resource mailboxes,
InPolicy and OutOfPolicy simply mean whether or not the meeting invitation matches any restrictions enabled on the resource mailbox. For example
MaximumDurationInMinutes value for the resource mailbox is 30 minutes, any meeting invitation longer than 30 minutes would be considered OutOfPolicy. Using the
RequestOutOfPolicy parameter, you can manually add users that are allowed to request meetings that are not within the policy, and if you really want to lock things down, you can set the
AllBookInPolicy value to False, and then manually add users to the
BookInPolicy field, or more restrictive, to the
RequestInPolicy field.
More details to see:
http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2007/05/14/3402515.aspx
I suggest set the MaximumDurationInMinutes parameter to a big number. Find a similar thread for your reference:

How can I accept invitations sent from PC's
Hi
I was wondering how I accept invitation requests sent from PC Outlook? At the moment they just show as a line of text in my Mac mail. No attachments to accept.
I am able to accept gmail invitations.
ThanksYou can't (only) de-authorise computers you no longer have access to.
Your only option is to de-authorise all your computers and then re-authorise those you wish to be authorised. You can do this by logging into your account settings in iTunes on your computer (Store > View My ID) and selecting the option to de-authorise all.
Please note however, you are only permitted to do this once in each 12 month period, therefore you would be better de-authorising your computers before you lose access to them. you can do this from the 'Store' menu in iTunes. -
Some ical invitees not receiving invite!
some ical invitees not receiving invite! For some reason my husband will NOT receive ical invites that I send to him I have tried multiple troubleshooting methods and cannot figure this out. His email is hosted thru Gmail but not a '@gmail' address...meaning its a [email protected] but email is hosted through google mail.
Other people receive my invites just fine, but his just never make it to him.
Makes me wonder if others don't get my invitations either when I don't receive a response.
What is the issue here? Has anyone else found a solution?
Also, is there a way to receive notifications when somene DOES accept an invitaiton in a group invite? Its annoying to have to go check iCal all the time and check in to see who accepted. Would like to be able to be auto-notified one-by-one when people respond. Any suggestions here?
Thx
KSI'm having the same issues.
With school starting next week, I'm trying to get the family organized.
Just sent invites for an event to my husband and 2 sons.
Husband received his email at work and accepted. (Although iCal still has a "?" by his name and I never received an email that he has accepted) As for the boys, they never receive an email at all.
The idea was wonderful at first but now it makes me want to go back to crayons and paper. :-P -
Currently I have a problem accepting invites in iCal on the mac. Specifically after pressing accept I get the following error:
The request for “invite title” in “Calendar” in account “MobileMe” failed.
The server responded with
“HTTP/1.1 400 Bad Request”
to operation CalDAVWriteEntityQueueableOperation.
If I accept the ics on the iphone however it adds it to the iphone calendar, but then does not sync with mobile me.
Any help great appreciated.
CheersI am having the exact same problem when trying to SEND invitations. I removed my me.com account from Mobile Me and then re-created it hoping that would solve the problem, but.... The problem persists. This just began happening yesterday -- long after the most recent iCal update. And, I have no alarms as part of the invitations I send. Any ideas?

In iCal - I keep getting the error message “ This calendar was created by Mail” and it will not accept any input; why..??
use Disk Utility and Verify Permisions then fix and Verify Disk and fix, this should fix it.
