Not enough memory to save this file

hi ,
im doing a artwork with a size of 210" x 72" and 4 layers in total ( the size is actually half of the actual print size which is 420" by 144" ). But whenever i want to export the ai file to psd , the error prompting ' Not enough memory to save this file ' appears. I've changed my primary scratch disks frm Startup to C:\ ( which is ard 100gb ) but the error still exists. Is there anyone who could help me ? Need to send the works for print next week but i need to export this file to photoshop to do extra effects and changes.

theres around 88gb left on my drive and my ai file is juz 1.84mb.
the settings for export is as follows :
Resolution - 72dpi ( as my workfile is being done to a scale of 50% , i used a lower dpi )
Options - Write layers with max editability
Anti-alias unchecked
Embed ICC profile checked

  • Illustrator CS5 Error - "Not enough memory to save the file"

    Hey guys,
I'm experiencing difficulties in exporting website from .AI to .PSD using Illustrator CS5.1 under Windows7 Home Premium 64bit. The error message says "Not enough memory to save the file".
I can assure you that i've got enough memory for scratch disks and my computer is powerful enough to handle this operation. The funny thing is that i am able to export the very same .Ai file using Illustrator CS5.1 under Windows XP 32bit on different PC.
I've tried to find a solution online, but it gave no satisfying results so far. So, i think the problem comes from the operating system, but i don't know how to fix it... any suggestions?
    Thanks, Steve.

Sad to say I'm running into the same problem with a 40KB file.....
(download the following file and use it)
    http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/8c/2.4_GHz_Wi-Fi_channels_%28802.11b%2Cg_W LAN%29.svg
    File -> Open
    Modify the file slightly:
    doubleclick the image
remove the channel 14 info  (the text block "14" & "2.484",  the T shaped path, the dotted half circle path)
drag a square around the "Channel", "Center Frequency", "(GHz)" text blocks and hold left shift and press the left arrow until the selected items are tighter to the rest of the image
select the bold base line, grab the right middle point to shrink the line (dragging from right to the left) until 'intersect' shows up, then release
click the top left "Back One Level" arrow 2 times so that you are back to the top level (out of isolation mode)
File -> Export -> Choose PSD
    Export Options (all default settings)
    Color Model RGB
    Medium (150ppi)
    Write Layers
      Preserve Text Editability
      Maximum Editability
    Antialias
    Click OK.....
    POOF! ERROR!
"Not enough memory to save the file"
note: saving as .ai file before exporting doesn't solve the problem
    My Environment:

  • Cannot load large CSV files in SignalExpress("Not enough memory to complete this operation" error)

    Hi guys,
I'm new here and just  have browsed
some of the related topics here regarding my problem but could not seem
to find anything to help me fix this problem so I decided to post this.
I currently have a saved waveform from an oscilloscope that is quite
big in size(around 700MB, CSV file format) and I want to view this on
my PC using SignalExpress. Unfortunately when I try to load the file
using "Load/Save Signals -> Load From ASCII", I always get the "Not
enough memory to complete this operation" error. How can we view and
analyze large waveform files in SignalExpress? Is there a workaround on
    this?
    Thanks,
    Louie
P.S.>I'm very new to Signal Express and haven't modified any settings on it.

    Hi Louie,
Are you encountering a read-only message when you tried to save the boot.ini file? If so, you can try this method: right-click on My Computer >> Select "Properties", and go to the "Advanced" tab. Select "Settings", and on the next screen, there is a button called Edit. If you click on Edit you should be able to modify the "/3GB" tag in boot.ini. Are you able to change it in this manner? After reboot, you can reload the file to see if it helps.
To open a file in SignalExpress, a contiguous chunk of memory is required. If SignalExpress cannot find a contiguous memory chunk that is large enough to hold this file, then an error will be generated. This can happen when fragmentation occurs in memory, and fragmentation (memory management) is managed by Windows, so unfortunately this is a limitation that we have.
As an alternative, have you looked at NI DIAdem before? It is a software tool that allows users to manage and analyze large volumes of data, and has some unique memory management method that lets it open and work on large amounts of data. There is an evaluation version which is available for download; you can try it out and see if it is suitable for your application.
    Best regards,
    Victor

  • Exporting from Illustrator to Photoshop: Not Enough Memory To Save File

Exporting from Illustrator to Photoshop: Not Enough Memory To Save File
I have plenty of memory (6 GB) and the files I try to export are not very big (some less than 5 MB). Yet, I keep getting the above message: Not Enough Memory To Save File
    Any suggestions?
    Many thanks!

Up-thread, John Joslin mentioned that "memory" is more than RAM. It is RAM, Virtual Memory, Scratch Disk, and is also governed by the allocations for your Adobe programs (in this case).
The first thing that I would explore is the Windows Virtual Memory (Page File) settings. This ARTICLE might give you some tips.
Also, see this ARTICLE on setting up a computer for an editing session. It's geared more towards doing video editing, but applies to PS work too.
Then, go to Edit>Preferences in both PS and AI, and check the allocation of your memory. Too often, people run that up, and then they starve the OS, or any other programs.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Not enough memory to save file.

I am getting this message when I try and export an AI file as .psd file. Illustrator is the only app open on a new 24" iMac running 10.5.4. The illustrator file itself is only about 5 mb. Yet . . .I get the message "Not enough memory to save file." Any thoughts, gang?

I know this is an old thread, but anyone trying to export large files out of Illustrator CS5 (maybe even CS6 and CC) still face this "not enough memory" challenge.
To summarize the above comments, this is what worked for me...
    1. Using Windows 7 or Windows 8, and Illustrator CS5
    2. Close Illustrator (if open)
    3. Right click the Illustrator application > Properties > Compatibility (tab)
    4. "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" > Windows XP (Service Pack 3)
    5. "Run this program as an administrator" (optional, but recommended)
    6. Apply (or "OK")
    7. Open Illustrator > Open your Illustrator file
    8. File > Export > (DO NOT CLICK SAVE YET...)
    9. (File Save Dialog Box) > At the bottom of the dialog box, tick to select "Use Artboards" > Range "1"
    10. (name your file) > "Save"
    11. (Photoshop Export Options) > Select color mode > Select Resolution > Select "Flat Image" > Select "Anti-Alias
    12. Click "OK"
Doing everything above allowed me to save a very large Illustrator file as a 300ppi RGB Photoshop file and avoid the "Not enough memory..." problem.
I hope this helps, but as usual: your mileage may vary... Shalom!

  • Error msg - not enough memory available for this task - chm file

    Hi All
I am using RoboHelp for HTML 8.0 and creating chm file.  I am using context sensitive help and the F1 key functionality.  I have in the past created some map ID's with F1 and they have worked properly with our company software application.  Now, I have a different database with our company and a larger help file and it is not working.  I am told that the database should work.  I also have lots of memory.  I am working off of my hard drive which is where the .exe is for the company application and my chm file.  I can open my .chm file.  When I go into the application and press F1 where I created the map ID;s I get the message, not enough memory available for this task and also topic not available. Quit one or more programs to increase memory.
I have lots of memory and my file is only 598kb.  I also only have RoboHelp and the application running.  When I did a search, I found an article for a fix from 2004 from Adobe - Rb_46124 - not sure if this is the fix but the steps dont match since it is old.
    Please help me.
    Thanks
    Caryn

    Hi there
Actually, if you were to use FlashHelp output, you might find that the problems are compounded, as now you have the Flash Player and all its idiosyncrasies in the mix.

  • Not enough memory to print this document

    Hello all,
I am trying to print tax forms, something I have done for years with no problem. I used a popular tax program to create a PDF file, copied this file to my G3/266 running Mac OS 9.1, and opened it using Acrobat Reader 4.0. Several pages show X's in boxes where the characters should be. I assume this is a font problem with Acrobat Reader 4.0, so I opened the file using Acrobat Reader 5.0, and all pages are rendered properly.
Once I tried to print, I remembered why I have been using Acrobat Reader 4.0: I've never been able to print from version 5.0. When printing from version 5.0, it spools to disk for background printing, then gives a warning: "Not enough memory to print this document". I tried printing the first page of Acrobat Reader's help pages - same problem. Here's a list of what I've tried:
      Background printing on & off
Acrobat Memory: 12,288 KB (Suggested), 24 MB, 128 MB
Print Monitor: 16,384 KB, 128 MB
    Always the same error.
My G3/266 has 768 MB of RAM
The printer is a LaserWriter Select, which is why I use Mac OS 9.1 to print.
Any ideas how to fix the font problem so I can print form Acrobat Reader 4.0 or how to make Acrobat Reader 5.0 print properly?

    Hello Robert,
    Thanks for the reply.
In Mac OS 9, the minimum and preferred memory allocation limits may be set by the user. By selecting the application's icon and selecting "Get Info", a panel provides these fields. The application always shows a suggested memory size. Acrobat Reader 5.0 has a suggested memory size of 12,288 KB, I tried raising it to 24 MB, then again to 128 MB. My computer has 768 MB of RAM.
I used TurboTax 2012 running under Mac OS 10.6.8 to create the PDF file by selecting the "Print Returns to Mail" button. It pulls up a system print window with the PDF button, from which I select the "Save as PDF..." option. On my Mac OS 10.6.8 system, the only printer listed in this window is the "Photosmart C4700 series [B6D0EB]", but this has always been the case, and is what I have always used to print.
I have opened the PDF file, created as described, using Preview, and used "Save As..." to save a new copy, using the "Black & White" Quartz filter, since this version of TurboTax wants to use colored tax forms. This should give me a PDF that is entirely created by Mac OS 10.6.8. I have also opened that PDF file again, and done a "Save As...", using the "Create Generic PDFX-3 Document" Quartz filter. I get the same errors when I try to print either PDF file.

  • AEGP Plugin MediaIO Plugin:MediaIO2 error:0x4 not enough memory to complete this encoding (5027::12)

I am working on a video project in After Effects CS4 (with Trapcode Particular preset) that's 2:12 minutes long on a Windows 7 operating
system. I'm finished editing for the most part, but everytime I put the video in Render Queue it renders the video for a few seconds (sometimes minutes) and then stops with this message appearing: "After Effects logged one error: AEGP Plugin Media IO Plugin: MediaIO2 error: 0x4 not enough memory to complete this encoding (5027::12)". After I closed this message I checked the part of the video that did render was where I saved it to be as a normal file on my Desktop. I made this video with 2 compositions: 1 for the actual importing and editing and the 2nd for the rendering and thinning it out (this is because when I import the footage from my camera it's always very wide in after effects) There is nothing particularly abnormal about the video, not very heavy or anything and most of it isn't animated, just film. The size of the source material for the video is about 4.0 to 8.7MB.
    Computer's Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU  T5500 @ 1.66GHz
    Computer's RAM: 2.00

First of all, CS4 does not work well with non-production codecs like MP4. Use the Adobe Media Encoder (or something similar) to convert your footage to a production codec (Cineform, DNxHD, Quicktime with the Photo JPEG codec or Quicktime with the PNG codec).
Second, you're running AE on a system with only 2 GB of RAM? Good heavens, man - no wonder it ran out of memory! Upgrade that to 4 if at all possible. (Upgrade to much more than that if you have a 64-bit OS and plan to upgrade AE ever. Although, on a machine as old and slow as that, you might be better off getting a new machine if you want to do anything serious in AE.)
Third, what's your exact version number of AE? You should be on 9.0.2 if I recall correctly.
Fourth, your video shouldn't be looking weird in AE. It's probably misinterpreting the pixel aspect ratio of your footage. Fix the interpretation and you shouldn't have to have a separate comp for changing its size.

  • Not enough memory to complete this operation windows 8

    Hi All,
I have a problem whith a built executable where at random intervals I get a windows dialogue saying "Not enough Memory to complete this operation"
I have searched through the forums and although there are similar posts I have not been able to get rid of this message by trying several things.  My project is a cRIO which connects and disconnects using the STM messenger service.  The HOST computer is a Producer consumer design pattern, the crio is a producer consumer with the producer being incoming TCP IP messages essentially.  The windows 8 machine shows no signs of running out of memory.  There is plenty available (8GB) and during normal execution the program is only using roughly 200MB and is stable.
Some of the things I have tried from reading similar threads but have had no luck.
Put a delay in TCP Send function from the cRIO (1mS).
Disabled all writing to files for polled data / results.
Run in windows 7 and XP compatibility mode and as administrator.
Move whole executable into my Documents after suspecting file permissions.
Made whole of install directory full access permissions.
Disabled firewall and uninstalled anti Virus as its not connected to T'internet.
Monitored cached data and disk writes using perfmon.
    Monitored Threads and seem stable.
This build was also tested on a windows 7 machine and has been run overnight with no problems.  the executable also runs on my development machine with no problems.  The windows 8 machine has no NI max installed (Just the RT engine), the windows 7 does along with VISA drivers etc.
When the "Not Enough...." Dialogue appears the exe hangs untill the prompt is removed.  Once the dialogue is removed the TCP Queue then catches up with Queued data so I know that there are no queues increasing in size (It has happily stored all polled data from an overnight run and then dequeues all this information to the front panel no problem)..
    Build PC:
    Windows 7 (64 bit) - LabVIEW 2013 (32 bit) full development.
    Target PC (with error message)
Windows 8 (64 bit) - LabVIEW 2013 RTE (Installed from an installer built on machine above using recommended settings)
Other Test Target (With no problems)
Windows 7 64 bit - LabVIEW 2013 RTE, MAX and VISA Installed.
Is there any way to debug this some more??  Where might I find this information in the windows event logs / perfmon etc??
    Many Thanks in advance

    Hi craigc,
Good job with the current troubleshooting status!
    A couple of things though:
    • Have you tried building the application on the same Windows 8 machine? Does it have the same issue then?
    • Did you try increasing the Virtual Memory usage? Even though this should not haveany  influence if you are using a 64bit machine, it might still be worth a try. There's a tutorial how to do it on Windows 7 here and it should not be very different from Windows 8.
    • You have mentioned that you used perfmon. What exactly did you measure and what results did you log?
    • Do the pop-ups show up in complete random manner or is there a pattern?
    • What about increasing the delay in TCP Send? I assume you have followed the latter suggestion from this forum post?
    Thanks!

  • Illustrator CS3 - "Not enough memory to place the file."  Help!!!???

I have a new machine running XP Pro 64.  Intel i7 processor, 12 gb ram.
I am trying to place a fairly small Photoshop image (with layers) into Illustrator CS3.  I have done this countless times with XP 32 bit os.
But now, I cannot place even a small Photoshop image into Illustrator... I keep getting the error "Not enough memory to place the file."
I tried the suggestion of 'right-clicking' the Illy launch icon and going to properties/compatibility and then selecting "Run this program in compatibility mode for..."  and then I check marked Windows XP.
Someone else said this worked in Vista 64.....but it DID NOT work for XP 64.....dang it.
    Any suggestions???

Talk about flame bait -- You trying to start the platform wars again? ;-D
Can anyone tell me if they can place a Photoshop image from WINDOWS 7 64 bit OS into Illustrator without issue?  We're talking 'PLACE' .... not paste.
Don't know about Windoze 7; but that operation works in Vista x64. XP x64 is
quite flaky at times. It was never finished IMHO.
Sure would like to know.  I'd upgrade if it made the difference.

  • When opening files "Not enough memory to load TIFF file."

Mac just had a new build of OSX 10.6.8.
Total memory 4gb of which over 3gb is free.
Open any image gives a memory error "Not enough memory to load TIFF file"

Open the linked tiff file(s) in photoshop, and resave with LZW Compression (OFF I Believe). I know you can place an lzw tiff adn usually works fine, but I believe i had this in the past and turned it off/chanegd the RLE settings and Illustrator was made happy. Also look for if the image is  photoshop >> image >> 8 bits/channel.

I've reset illustrator prefs, disabled "enable desktop connection", check scratch discs, etc.

There's no such thing as an "Illustrator CS3 portable" version. What you have is an illegal torrent download. Any issues you experience may be due to the illegal copying of the software.

You just posted that it seems to be a popular problem. We see
that complaint a lot, ever since MX2004 came out. Usually
    associated
    with the larger fla files.
Once the fla is corrupted there isn't a recover tool for it
(that I have heard of) You can start over or use a decompiler to
recover the pieces and code from it to use on your new one.
soThink swf decompiler can usually make a pretty good fla from a
working swf file (but not always)
