very often, but no always, when I save metadata in the file, appear an "not known error system" message

Hi welcome.
Are you able to furnish information about which files metadata is being saved - RAW files (XMP sidecar files in reality), JPEG, TIFF, PSD etc?
Are there any patterns to this error message appearing?

BPM_DATA_COLLECTION fails with (Output device "" not known) error

Hi all,
I have an issue with Output BPM_DATA_COLLECTION_1 job in the satellite system failing with 'Output device "" not known error. Since it is collecting data for Solution Manager system why does is it trying to find an output device.
It did not fail before and now I added another key figure (custom one) which is done the same way the other custom monitors are done in "Z_BPM_ECU_COLLECTOR" report and then in /SSA/EXM program, but the collector job started to fail.
Also, for some reason there are two BPM_DATA_COLLECTION jobs, one is BPM_DATA_COLLECTION_1 and the other is BPM_DATA_COLLECTION_2. _1 runs every 5 min and _2 is less frequent. They both seem to runt the same job which is /SSA/EXS. Why are there two jobs scheduled from solution manager in my satellite system?

I am experiencing this same issue in our ECC 6.0 system. We currently have ST-A/PI release 01M_ECC600 level 0001 applied to our system. These jobs finish successfully in SM37, but I'm seeing the same error messages in our system logs (SM21).
When I try to update the output device that is associated with these jobs, the user ID running the jobs is not valid since it's user type is Communication Data.
Does anyone know if it ok to change the user for this job? Should it be run by DDIC? I believe the jobs were created automatically when we applied ST-A/PI release 01M_ECC600 level 0001.

Field name is not known Error in formula field...

Hi,
I have a report in CR11.5 r2 that I call from VB6.
The report works fine, until a I create this formula, Trim ({RSE.PatName}).
When I put this formula field in a section in the report, I have this error, "Field name is not known Error".
Any idea?

Make sure you have SP 6:

Does the formula work in the designer?
Are you changing datasource at runtime? If so, can you change to that datasource in the designer and run the report there?
If you do not use the Trim function, does it work?
If you do not use the field in a formula abd place it in say, the detail section as a test, does the report work?
But remember that what ever the report is doing at runtime, must work in the designer 1st.

"Name not known" error in all PCR of the MSS Package

Hi,
I'm getting an error in the PCR workset of the MSS package.
When I submit any form the error which I get is
"Name not known.Check your entries" .
Is this due to some problem in R/3 settings?
Also when I submit a PCR "Request for separation(enhanced)" I get an exception.
The log entry for this exception is as follows:
_27##0#0#Error#1#com.sap.sup.admin.connector.AbapConnectorLauncher#Plain###Cannot start ABAP Connector Listener. Please try to configure the connection in ABAP Systems Management (Setup Local Connectivity).

With other words, you are using the BP for MSS 60.1.5 or later.
Can you connect to the backend via a Java Connection?

We are repeatedly getting the following error for some of our users .We are unable to trace it.Your inputs would be highly appreciable. We are using dot net 2.0 & visual studio 2005 for development & Crystal Reports 10.2.

This error occurs when the application is not correctly logged on to the database.
Because we are a two pass reporting system and the first pass looks at the formulas, you get a formula error when data is missing instead of the expected Database logon error.
Confirm that your data is visible to your reports at runtime.

Datatype : 25 not supported error while saving Logical Query in BIP Dataset

Hi All,
I have created a nested logical Query in OBIEE Publisher Datamodel using parameters.
Here is the simple query :

Note - :Date is the parameter. When I try saving this dataset as-is, it throws me Datatype : 25 not supported error. But, when i replace the parameter :Date with actual date, then the query works. Also, the inner query works with or without parameters. The issue arises when I use the outer query and the parameters.
Please let me know if you have come across such a problem ?
Any help on this regard would be highly appreciated.

ya i can understand we wont do the sql logic at the data model part as some time performance issue may come when comparaed to sql run in package and sql running in data model . so i have mostly done using package and i will just do select * from table in the data set of data model so i didn't face any issue's like this .

Field not Known Error in Crystal Report 11

I was using Crystal Report 8.5 earlier and i had a field named "Fee $" in the query and it was working fine when i pull the report in VB Application using Crystal Report Viewer. But when i migrated to Crystal 11 things started breaking. Crystal Report 11 is not supporting "Fee $" as column field and generates error Field not Known. And when i change it to only "Fee" removing special character "$", thing started in place. I appreciate any help on this.

Can i change the database name to database(db2) in my c# application?when i am changing to new database name in my application i am getting error as "field name is not known".

I've upgraded from Crystal 8.5 to Crystal XI.
I've converted all my reports from Crystal 8.5 to Crystal XI.
When I try to run the report I get the error:
The Field Name is not known and nothing else.
I did upgrade the report and verified the database.
Does anyone have any ideas ?
If I delete the formula, and after I create it (by handle) the report will good.
But I have about 1000 reports !

When we upgraded our web servers from VS 2003 to 2005, our crystal reports web viewer began having a problem with reports that contained sub-reports. We now are getting the following error on the web page. The reports were developed in Crystal 10, but I upgraded them to Crystal 11 but still recieved the same error.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also Try to update the database connection for the report.
You can do that by opening report in designer, then
Go To Database Menu -> Setdatasource Location
Connect to the datasource you want and update the datasource.
Save the report.

Queue does not exist Error while saving TO

We enabled RF Queue determination
Queues are getting determined correctly in Transfer orders as per the logic mentioned in 'Assign Areas and Activities to Queues'
We dont want queue determination for few TO's if logic is not there and ststem should not assign queue but now system is prompting message 'Queue does not exist, Message no. LRFMON502' if it could not derive queue while saving TO
Any pointers?

We enabled queue determination based on detination storage type with BADI LE_WM_RF_QUEUE, this implementation cuased us DUMP
Fixed by fine tuning queue assignment in config

"Limits not Defined " error while saving IT0008 in sap hr

Hi Experts
While trying to Hiring an employee, infotype0008 showing Limits not defined error and not allowing to save the record. I checked table V_T510 and V_T510N. All the limits defined in right way. Please check and advice. I attached copy of screen shot for your reference.

Output device not defined error while saving the quotation

Hi all,
We have some custom output types (ZGEN, ZSSO, ZQTO, ZJT)configured in the nace transaction for Application V1. Whenever i am creating / saving a quotation one of the output type(ZQTO) is not processing for mail (External Send) and it is displaying an error as 'Output device not defined'. If i remove all the output types while changing the quotation in VA22 from header, it is processing.
I checked with all other output types combination. The error is trigerred only when we have ZJT output type along with ZQTO.
We are not able to recognise the error. Please help out to solve this issue. Its very urgent.

Nexus 5500 "Mezz not found" error, system wont boot

Rebooted N5548UP after software upgrade didn't go as planned and now it wont boot up stating mezz not found. Attempting to get console access to boot the kickstart and load the image again but looking for direction if that doesn't work and what the mezz not found points to ??
A software upgrade attempt from 5.1.3 to 5.2.1 broke fiber channel connectivity so a reboot to revert back to original 5.1.3 was what got us stuck with a broken reboot for FYI.

We had the same problem on a Notebook G71. If you can get to the BIOS, do a RAM and a Hard Drive test. Our Hard DRive test failed and we had to get a new hard drive. When we took the new hard drive through the Recovery phase, we still got a device missing error, not the same one as before though. We started the process over several times and finally it found what it was looking for and is working fine now.
Search these forums, you will find a lot of good advice. I did.

tiffs are supported, but you probably have some incompatible metadata in your tiffs (assuming tiffs are not otherwise corrupt). Consider logging bug report and sending example of offending tiff to Adobe.
Were all those tiffs updated using a common application (other than Lightroom)?
Consider using exiftool to read/write metadata and see how that works. Assuming it is what I think it is (and not an unsupported camera problem or other legit incompatibility), you may even be able to fix the problem using exiftool, but definitely save problem files to support bug report to Adobe.
