Not publishing new page

I set up a new web page last night and when I published it did not appear on my website. I tried this several times along with changes on previous pages and although it said it published, it did not. Any suggestions? I have previously published new information on this web site. Thanks

Are you publishing to MobileMe or another server?
Did you empty the browser cache before viewing your published site?

All files of the tempdb are restricted in size and already expanded to their maximum size. You now can either
- add another file on a disk with free space and let the file grow
- let the existing files grow to an higher amount

TS2580 my site will not update new pages

I have added a contact us page to my iweb site. I have saved the work, then published the site. When I go to visit the site the page does not show up?

The updated feed.xml file is probably not loaded so you won't see the new menu item.
Try this : clear the browser cache and reload a page.
You can also type the new page url.

Publishing New Pages

When I try to publish a new page, after getting it ready and
hitting publish, I get a screen that asks for the folder. If I type
in events/ as the folder for example and try to publish it, I get
an error message that says I can't use certain characters (which I
am not using, the url is fine). It will not accept it. If I hit
browse to get a folder, the screen that comes up is frozen and
won't let me do anything with it. If I click elsewhere, I get a
screen saying waiting for server and it looks like it will wait
forever. At that point, I have to stop Contribute from running and
start over. This happens on both my desktops, so is not a problem
with just one machine.
Any ideas on what do I need to do to get this to work the way
it is supposed to?

I'm having a similar problem as you!
When I click 'Publish' to publish a new page
into a specific folder, Contribute won't let me. It freezes
and
I have to shut it down.
For example, I click Publish > Choose Folder > I choose
the folder --
then a screen pops up saying "Waiting for Server" --
the bar takes forever and never goes across, then
everything freezes, forcing me to shut it down.
Is this a bug in Contribute? Does anyone know?

Preview not opening new pages documents after Yosemite upgrade

Just upgraded to Yosemite and also upgraded Pages to 5.5. Created a new Pages document and now, in Finder, the preview does not work. If I control click on the pages file and select open with Preview I get an error "The file “XXXXX.pages” could not be opened. It may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn’t recognize." Existing (previous version) Pages documents do open in Finder. Does anyone else have this problem?

Yes this has been reported by others.
No solution, so far.

Publishing new pages on IWEB

I have created a website and its all worked fine and I have published it to the web. However, when I added new pages and deleted a page in IWEB and went to re-publish the site, the new pages haven't published.
Does anyone know how to get the new added pages published onto the live site?

First, after you upload changes to your site make sure you empty the browser cache before visiting the site.
If you have done this then the question is - where are you publishing your website and how are you uploading the files - iWeb FTP or another FTP application?

Downloaded Lion and Now iWeb Won't Publish New Page or Changes?

I am having the hardest time getting iWeb now publish info. After updating to Lion iWeb will not publish anything new I do on iWeb. It will act like it is publishing everything but nothing shows up on the net. What do I need to do to fix this?

Try the following:
delete the iWeb preference files, com.apple.iWeb.plist and com.apple.iWeb.plist.lockfile, that resides in your Home() /Library/Preferences folder.
go to your Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder and delete its contents.

The following will assist you in using iWeb with Lion partidularly if you have more than one domain file:
In Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
To open your domain file in Lion or to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.

You can download an already compiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.
Just launch the application, find and select the domain file you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.
WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder. So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.

Can not create new page from template

I have been working on a new site for the last couple of
weeks and have created several pages using a basic template.
All of the child pages of this template still update when
changes are made to it, however I can no long create new children
from this template.
Any ideas as to what the problem might be.

my guess is that you are opening the .dwt template file and
doing a "Save
As". That page is not a "child" page of the template.

Firefox not opening new pages in new tabs

Just updated to FF 5.0 on OS 10.6.6. Got my pref set to open new pages/bookmarks in a new tab, but it just loads them into the current window.
I disabled all of my extensions (Download helper, web dev tools, Firebug, TinyURL generator, Yahoo mail notifier) and no dice.
Arg! What happened?
I appreciate any suggestions.

If you left-click a link then that link is always opened in a the current tab.<br />
You need to middle-click a link or use command+Left-click to open the link in a new tab.<br />
The setting in Firefox > Preferences > Tabs only makes it possible to divert links that specify a target window to open in a new tab instead.
You can look at these extensions:

Can you not publish some pages?

i have a website but want to 'hide' some of the pages for editing purposes. is there a way to make them not appear on the website without deleting them entirely?
they are currently on the website now, but i want to make the website 'under construction' until i have the images I want up there.. do i have to delete all the pages entirely??

The inspector window gives you the option to not include a page in the navigation bar.
An easy way to achieve your goal is to simply not include the particular pages in the navigation bar. Someone would have to type in the exact web address of the particular page in order to get to it (which isn't likely).
If you don't provide a path to the page then you have effectively hidden the page.
On one of my pages I enabled a small box as a link to an unfinished page (just slightly opaque so it's not obvious) so I can see how things look but not have any traffic going to the unfinished page.

IWeb 09 not publishing new album to folder.

As of earlier today, I had 5 albums on my album photos page. I tried adding a new one today. I saved, published to folder, and then uploaded it to my website via Cyberduck. I went online to see if it was up or not and apparently it didn't upload. I looked into the published folder and it isn't there either. iWeb is acting as if it did publish the new album. It shows the album on the photos page, but not in the published folder.
I import my photos from Aperture 3.
Any ideas?

Did you try clearing the MMe login cache by logging in with a bogus user name and password? This this:
1 - go to the System/MobileMe preference pane and log out of MMe.
2 - login with a bogus username and password, like "test" and "test". This clears the caches.
3 - login with your correct username and password.
4 - launch iWeb and try again.
When you say nothing happens does iWeb go thru the motions? You did check the site online to confirm, right?

Adober Reader 8.1.2 will not open new page links to .pdf file

Since upgrading to version 8, I cannot open a pdf file (from IE) if it opens in a new window. It opens local files, and links on pages that go directly to the pdf file, but not if the link opens the file in a new window. This means that I cannot open such things as my VISA statement, etc. What now?
I have Windows XP on a Dell desktop. If it makes any difference, I also have Adobe Pagemaker 7.0 and Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 loaded on this computer.
I really need this to work.

Nothing showed in the Event Viewer log. However, just to be thorough:
1. I uninstalled reader 6.0.1 and rebooted. (all pdf became unassociated)
2. I deleted any acr*.tmp anywhere on my computer.
3. I deleted The 6.0 folder from the application updates path
4. I deleted the 6.0 folder from my install path.
5. I deleted the Adobe folder from my temp directory.
6. I ran CCleaner, cleaned app files and registry and repeated.
7. I rebooted and repeated step 6.
8. I opened Event Viewer, backed up and cleared all events from the log.
9. I installed 8.1.2 (all pdf became associated with Acrobat Reader)
10. Under Event Viewer/Application the event log displays: Product: Adobe Reader 8.1.2 -- Installation operation completed successfully.
11. Under Event Viewer/System the event log displays: The Windows Installer service entered the stopped state.
12. I tried to launch: the shortcut, a pdf and the exe file.
13. There are no additional events added to any level of the event log.
14. There is no indication of activity from Reader in the Task Manager: Applications or Processes. It never appears in either.
As a final note, I know the 8.1.2 install file is not corrupted because I copied it to another computer where it installed and runs just fine.

The new 5.0.1 version does not open new pages in new tabs when the feature is checked in options\tabs. How do I fix it?

When I check the feature in Tools\Options\Tab
"Open new windows in a new tab instead" it does not do so. New windows are launched in the existing tab.

If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains.

How to deploy my .WAR as a portlet, not a new page.

Hi,
I already know how to deploy my war file in the Portal. But How can I deploy it as a portlet?
I have tried deploy a simple helloworld.jsp into sample provider. And it works. But when I try to create a new provider (which already config .properties , and provider.xml file). It always gives me "404 Not found" error.
Oracle support said it must be something wrong with setting problem. But we havn't solve this problem yet.
Can anyone give me a help or advice?

Possible to archive (not publish) select pages/sites?

I teach at a university and use iWeb (1.0.1) with .Mac for my course blogs. Our semester is over and I want to decommission those course sites. In the fall, I want to take those sites and re-release them entry by entry as the semester progresses.
Is there a way to withhold certain sites and pages without deleting them altogether? (Especially important since it appears there's no way to save them without having them in the publish queue.
[FWIW, I am waiting until after the screaming ends to update to 1.1.]

I thought of that, Tom, and thanks, but that only solves half the problem. Duplicating the domain file will indeed let me delete content that I don't want online while retaining a copy offline; but migrating "archived" stuff back in later would be very difficult.
As you know, iWeb doesn't play nicely with deleting/pasting items in most of the templates. It would be most cumbersome to reintegrate old blog entries at a later time.
