Not to sound ungrateful but...

To start, the new updates in Illustrator are great (especially the missing font support), but Adobe continues to neglect a big market with every new release...the sign and engraving industry. We little people working in those industries end up using Corel or some industry-specific software (such as Engravelab/Signlab or FlexiSign) because Illustrator is missing just a few key elements that could close up that market as well.
The first and most important missing feature in my opinion is creating letters that are actually the size of the font you specified. If I choose a 2 inch letter height and type the letter X, the transform box says that it is 2.174 inches. If I draw a rectangle to the size of the actual X I created it is only 1.354 inches. Come on! how hard is it to add the option for Illustrator to use the Height of X to determine the letter height? I know that I can Outline Object in the Appearance Panel and turn on "Use Preview Bounds," but that is a huge pain when you do 3,000-4,000 jobs per year.
Another biggie is how about adding a module that would allow for the creation on multiple badges based on variable data WITHOUT having to be an XML expert? Even Corel doesn't make using variable data as technical as Illustrator and I hate Corel.
Another thing missing from Illustrator that would be great is the ability to assign keyboard shortcuts to the alignment functions.
I live in a city of roughly 300,000 people and there are over 10 sign shops and 3 engravers in my city alone. Sign shops are not going anywhere and I think it's crazy to overlook us. The Creative Cloud subscription based model is a God send for small business that can't afford to buy full versions once a year. But it's a tough sell when you try to explain why the 2-inch letter x the boss just typed on the screen is only 1.354 inches tall.

can i ask which hub you used, i'll get exactly the same one to make sure i have the best chance of it working!

If you are sure that you have sound in other apps - and if you can still hear keyboard clicks and get notifications, then system sounds are not muted. Try this and see if it works.
Close all apps completely and reboot the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

I got this app for my kids and I want to play it on my tv the sound works not the video. But when I put the same app on my iphone 4s it works fine on my tv using same cord etc I don't know if there is something I need to do to my ipod to make it work.

The 4G iPod TV (video) out only works with apps that support TV out. The Video app is one such app. The iPhone 4S (and later iPhones, the 5G iPod and iPad 2 and later) on the other hand can mirror the iPod's screen for TV out.

You don't need to start a new thread to continue a conversation, you can just tack onto the original one. The settings I referred you to are for the Blackberry, since that's the device which is not receiving mail: anything which is working can be left alone.

Missing in this equation were the version of Premiere Elements that you were using and the computer operating system on which it was running. But...
The deed is done. But.....Until now and after you went ahead and moved to version 12, we now learn what version of Premiere Elements you were using. We still do not know the computer operating system involved.
You just said Premiere Elements 10. Premiere Elements 10 is hit by a serious known display issue if the computer uses a NVIDIA GeForce video card/graphics card. In this issue, the only remedy is to roll back the driver version to about May 2013. The description of the problem and how to do the roll back are described in one of the Announcements at the top of this forum. What video card/graphics card does your computer use?
On another front, Adobe will be releasing a new version of Premiere Elements any day now. No one but Adobe knows the feature set for the new version. That type of information is announced at the moment of release of the new version.
So the remedy to the problem that you presented in this thread could have been...
1. Rolling back the NVIDIA GeForce driver version to about May 2013 if possible (Windows 8 or 8.1 64 bit, may not be possible)
2. Move to another version of Premiere Elements (which you did)
I offer the above for consideration so that you can review your decisions. We are pleased to learn that Premiere Elements 12/12.1 works for you.

I have had this same problem for weeks now with my 4S. I just got a new 5S after being extremely frustrated and the same thing - no sounds. After searching posts all over, I couldn't find a solution. I just told my friend of the issue and he asked "Do you have the Do Not Distrub on?" I didn't even know such a function existed. Upon looking that was exactly the issue.
To resolve, go to Settings> Do Not Disturb> Manual. If it is green, turn it off. You will now get phone calls and text alerts.
This functionality is also on your quick access utility menu (slide up menu). I assume this is how it was enabled on my phone.
I will post on other sites since I searched for weeks for this solution and didn't see it anywhere. Good luck!

Make sure that you allow pages to choose their colors and that you haven't enabled High Contrast in the Accessibility settings.

IDVD copies the movie but not the sound

With IDVD one-step-dvd I try to copy edited movies from a Sony Handycam directly to DVD. Unfortenatly it copies only the images but not the sound. Anybody has the same experience and knows the solution? When I import the movie into IMovie the sound is allright.

Quicktime, Quicktime Pro and iTunes don't convert "muxed" ( muxed means multiplexed where the audio and video are stored on the same track) video files properly. It only plays the video and not the audio.

Have you checked System Preferences -> Sound to see the Output when nothing is plugged in the headphone jack? Also, check if the headphone jack shows a faint read-light, which is the optical laser.

Thanks for the swift reply, I have been looking online and a loose plug seems to be somewhat of an issue with many, I hope mine is actually a problem and not what others are experiencing. It's taken me this long to even reach out for the simple fact I HATE being a complainer but this is just horrible.

I am not getting sound notifications when I receive text messages anymore. A few will come through, but I have the volume on high and I will look down and see I have missed messages even though the phone is in my pocket or purse. Is this common?
