I would use the console and release the edit lock to see if that clears
up the problem.

  • Stop managed server without node manager and admin server

    What are the commonly used ways to stop managed Weblogic server without node manager running and without administration server running?
    (I have only one solution: on the managed server startup dump process ID to a file, and then when I want to stop it, send a signal to this process ID and kill JVM. But it seems not very clean way.)
    (The managed server is started when both node manager and admin server are down, and I provide boot.properties of admin server to the managed server to start.)
    UPDATED: And I don't want to start neither admin server, nor node manager even temporarily.

    Hai,
    I read the Oracle weblogic wlst script document without Admin server you cannot connect the managed server through the WLST script. see the below lines
    "The start command starts Managed Servers or clusters in a domain using Node Manager.
    To use the start command, WLST must be connected to a running Administration Server.
    To start Managed Servers without requiring a running Administration Server, use the
    nmStart command with WLST connected to Node Manager."
    "You shut down a server to which WLST is connected by entering the shutdown command

    When connected to a Managed Server instance, you only use the shutdown command to shut
    down the Managed Server instance to which WLST is connected; you cannot shut down another

  • How to Starting and Stopping OC4J Server using Ant

    How to Starting and Stopping OC4J Server using Ant
    In the ant task definitions for ant-oracle-classes.jar (see antlib.xml) there are two tasks called
         name="restartServer" classname="oracle.ant.taskdefs.deploy.JSR88StartServer"
         name="shutdownServer" classname="oracle.ant.taskdefs.deploy.JSR88ShutdownServer"
    I thought that these would shutdown and start the OC4J server. I guessed the parameters as – (Does anyone know where 50 ant targets are documented?)
    <oracle:restartServer
    userid="${oc4j.admin.user}"
         password="${oc4j.admin.password}"
         deployeruri="${deployer.uri}"
    />
    <oracle:shutdownServer
         userid="${oc4j.admin.user}"
         password="${oc4j.admin.password}"
         deployeruri="${deployer.uri}"
    />
    This, however does not start and stop the SOA suite. To do that I've hacked this solution together -
    <path id="oc4j.console">
         <pathelement location="${oracle.home}/config"/>
         <pathelement location="${oracle.home}/jlib/startupconsole.jar"/>
         <pathelement location="${oracle.home}/opmn/lib/optic.jar"/>
         <pathelement location="${oracle.home}/lib/xmlparserv2.jar"/>
    </path>
    <target name="stop" description="stop oc4j server" depends="init">
         <java classname="oracle.appserver.startupconsole.view.Runner">
              <classpath refid="oc4j.console"/>
              <sysproperty key="ORACLE_HOME" path="${oracle.home}"/>
              <arg value="stop"/>
         </java>
    </target>
    <target name="start" description="restart oc4j server" depends="init">
         <java classname="oracle.appserver.startupconsole.view.Runner">
              <classpath refid="oc4j.console"/>
              <sysproperty key="ORACLE_HOME" path="${oracle.home}"/>
              <arg value="start"/>
         </java>
    </target>
    This sort of works – except when the SOA suite doesn't stop cleanly – and needs user interaction to press a Close button. This isn't very useful when doing a continous integration build and deploy.
    So, does anyone have any suggestions or alternative methods to do this?
    - frank

    Actually if the server throws exceptions when it stops (which it always has since we applied patch 10.1.3.3) this technique will pause until a user responds to pop-up ... So a better way (I think) is -
    <target name="start" description="start oc4j server" depends="init">
    <java classname="oracle.appserver.startupconsole.view.Runner">
    <classpath refid="oc4j.console"/>
    <sysproperty key="ORACLE_HOME" path="${oracle.home}"/>
    <arg value="start"/>
    </java>
    </target>
    <target name="stop" description="stop oc4j server" depends="init">
    <echo message="We expect OC4J *NOT* to stop cleanly, so we will timeout after 3 minutes ..."/>
    <java classname="oracle.appserver.startupconsole.view.Runner" fork="true" timeout="180000">
    <classpath refid="oc4j.console"/>
    <sysproperty key="ORACLE_HOME" path="${oracle.home}"/>
    <arg value="stop"/>
    </java>
    </target>
    <target name="restart" description="restart oc4j server">
    <antcall target="stop"/>
    <!-- wait for server to quieten down -->
    <waitfor maxwait="2" maxwaitunit="minute">
    <not><http url="http://${oc4j.http.hostname}:${oc4j.http.port}"/></not>
    </waitfor>
    <antcall target="start"/>
    </target>

    What Apple store told you they wanted $249.00 to tell what is wrong?
    If this is a 13" Macbook Pro then that is the cost of the Extended Applecare warranty. As you are outside the 90 days of Free Phone Support then what Apple told you is that to get Phone Support you would either need to pay $45 per phone call or pay $249.00 for the Applecare extended warranty which comes with 3 years Free Phone Support from date of purchase.
    Or you can take it to a Apple Genius Bar and have them look at it for Free.
    Every Mac comes with 1 year warranty and includes only 90 days of phone support. You can buy the extended Applecare warranty anytime within the first year of ownership, IE until the 1 year warranty runs out.
    I suggest you have your computer looked at by either an Apple Authorized Repair Center or Genius Bar and then before the 1 year warranty runs out buying the extended warranty

  • How to start and stop a server

    I am doing some sockets programming.
    Now, when I want to get the TomCat 4 server running for instance, I would have to run the startup.bat or startup.sh file. To stop the server I run the shutdown.bat or shutdown.sh file.
    Can I do the same thing in Java?
    That is, in one window, I run a program: C:\>java myserver start
    The server starts running and holds there.
    In another window, I run another command: C:\>java myserver stop
    and the server in the other window stops.
    I am thinking the server would be running in a thread. When I shut it down, I close the thread just like in the Applet Clock example.
    I've tried this but it doesn't work.
    Can anyone please advise.
    Thanks.
    Anthony.

    Not precisely that way, but just off the top of my head, you would have to have a handle to the proccess (server) in the first window, then have a monitor program that allows you take this handle and end it. I would make this monitor program be the gateway to starting and stopping your server. To run a .bat file you can use runtime.exec().

    By using netstat -anp|grep 5556 you can check which process on your machine is using the 5556 port.

  • Cant get restart and stop buttons to work on scene with movieclip and sound. (NOOB)

    So.
    Iv been trying now for hours and it wont work.
    I have 4 layers.
    ljud: The wav sound file.
    knappar: Buttons, restart and stop.
    kod: which is only AS2. The only thing in it is stop();
    fyrverkeri: which has the movieclip on it. 3 instances of it, named fire, fire1, fire2.
    Code for the restart button:
    on (release) {
    gotoAndPlay(1);
    Code for the stop button:
    on (release) {
              stopAllSounds();
              stop();
    fire.stop();
    fire1.stop();
    fire2.stop();
    It wont work correctly. What have I done wrong?
    I will upload 2 screens for you as well.
    At the moment it wont go back to frame 1. It starts playing at the last MC instance instead.
    Other problems iv had is that it wont play the sound but restarts the mc.
    Thank you in advance!

    I will change it to stream and try.
    My stop and restart button are on the same layer.
    I am referring to fire,fire1,fire2 as being instance names for the 3 movieclips, not frame names.
    Should I use frame names maybe?
    The wierdest thing (according to me, the lost noob) is that when I hit my restart button, it doesnt even go to frame 1. It goes to my last instance of the movieclip, frame 69 and it doesnt play it out either. Im lost. Iv been trying so hard for so many hours with this thing now, even remaking it that I think I have become blinded to what the solution could be. -.-

  • How to stop and start Managed Server using weblogicServer

    Hi
    We are new.
    We have 2 managed servers and an Admin Server.
    We're trying to use the command line to stop/start our Managed Server.
    Could someone share examples on how one could write the command line that's similar to the WLS console Server Start tab ?

When I configured the Managed Server I specified the keystore/trustsote information in the Keystores tab of the Admin Console for Managed Server settings. Why is it looking for demotrust.jks file to start the Managed Server. We don't use the demo trust and cannot copy to the location it is referring to. I followed the solution provided at the below link:
    http://serverfault.com/questions/106499/custom-trust-and-custom-identity-keystore-in-weblogic-10-3
    There are 2 options given in the link. To update the boot.properties of the Admin Server and appending JAVA_OPTIONS to DomainEnv file. Both of these caused the failure of Admin Server. I couldn't bring up the server after these changes.I also came across posts talking about boot.properties for Managed Server. I don't see the security folder that has boot.properties for my Managed Server (verified it on both windows and linux boxes).
    Thanks in advance.

  • Stopping Managed Server took hours

    Hi all,
    I have an issue stopping the one of our managed servers (say MNG_SVR_1). It took almost 5 hrs to stop. There was no issue stopping another managed server.
    In the managed server logs, I could see the following messages;
    >
    ####<Jul 5, 2010 5:08:02 AM XXX> <Error> <Cluster> <XXXX10> <MNG_SVR_1> <[ACTIVE] ExecuteThread: '0' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)'> <<WLS Kernel>> <> <> <1278364082350> <BEA-000110> <Multicast socket receive error: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.bea.p13n.cache.internal.system.CacheClusterMessage: This error could indicate that a component was deployed on a cluster member but not other members of that cluster. How was the managed server tried to be brought down. Forceful or Graceful? In case of a graceful shutdown, the managed server would be brought down only after all the active requests are processed and completed. Moreover, there's something unusual that is seen in the logs that you pasted. Is some application component deployed on only one managed server of the cluster as the logs suggest??Few logs lines previous and after to the one that you have pasted would be giving more pointers...

  • Error While Starting the Weblogic Managed server- BEA-160001

    Hi,
    While starting the managed server (10.3.4) below exception occurs. Help me on why the error occurs.
    <Error> <J2EE> <BEA-160001> <Error deploying Internal Application: weblogic.application.ModuleException: [HTTP:101216]Servlet: "CoordinatorPortTypeServlethttp" failed to preload on startup in Web application: "wls-wsat.war".

    .

    Hi,
    There are two workaround for this issue.
    1) Without disabling wls-wsat application:
    Here are the steps:
    Add jar saaj-impl-1.3.jar to weblogic classpath
    Start weblogic using java options:
    -Djavax.xml.soap.MessageFactory=com.sun.xml.messaging.saaj.soap.MessageFactoryImpl
    -Djavax.xml.soap.SOAPFactory=com.sun.xml.messaging.saaj.soap.SOAPFactoryImpl
    -Djavax.xml.soap.MetaFactory=com.sun.xml.messaging.saaj.soap.SAAJMetaFactoryImpl
    2) If wls-wsat is not required:
    This is the setting to disable wls-wsat:
    -Dweblogic.wsee.wstx.wsat.deployed=false
    It is mentioned here in the doc
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/web.1111/e13734/cluster.htm

  • Error while deploying to Production Managed Server

    My setup is one Domain, one AdminServer, one Managed Server all running in Production Mode.. The AdminServer:7001 and ManagedServer:7003 are on the same box.
    I can deploy my app and hit it via a web service on AdminServer:7001 but I can't hit is on the ManagedServer:7003.
    What happens is I tell the ODSI Admin Console to target the application to either ManagedServer or ManagedServer and AdminServer. Doing this put's the ManagedServer into an Admin STANDBY mode, lists the following error, and remains in an UNKNOWN state. I eventually have to shut the ManagedServer down and start it again.
    The server is running on the latest version of Oracle Mission Control 3.1.0 with the version of JRockit that's in there (1.6.0_11 R27.6.3).
    I mean, I'd rather not run the application on the AdminServer. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to look into to try to trouble shoot this issue??

  • EJB 3.0, BC4J and weblogic managed server

    Hi, I've got a problem using EJB 3.0 with a BC4J Application module in a weblogic managed server.
    My bean is a stateless session bean that use BC4J for database transaction.
    When I call the bean the first time, It returns de values I need, without problem. If I do the same call again, I always get "null". I deployed the same bean on the AdminServer, linking to the same DataSource, It works fine and I never got a null result.
    My application module is created insid my EJB abstract class by :
    _am = (BaseServiceImpl)Configuration.createRootApplicationModule(adfModel, adfConfiguration);*
    Where adfModel and adfConfiguration are configured through annotations in my EJB Implementation.
    In my abstract EJB, I have a methode with a +@PreDestroy+ method like that :
    +@PreDestroy+
    *protected void releaseModele() {*
    *if (_am != null) {*
    Configuration.releaseRootApplicationModule(_am, false);
    _am = null;*
    My Data Source on the server is defined as Supporting Global Transaction, one-phase commit. I activated the BC4J Logs on the server to see what was going on and I see that the JDBC seems to close after the first call :
    *** closing jdbc connection now **** (weblogic.jdbc.wrapper.JTSConnection_oracle_jdbc_driver_T4CConnection@0)
    And that is when I've got the error on the server :
    oracle.jbo.InvalidObjAccessException: JBO-25036: An invalid object operation was invoked on type View Object with name AppModAD
    So, my JDBC connection seems to close somewhere beetween the first and the second call, but only on a managed server... Someone has ever encountered a problem like that?
    Maybe there is something with the configuration of a datasource on a managed server? Or with the lifecycle of an

    The solution was to NOT have glabal transaction checked in the configuration of the data-source and "Failover Transaction State Upon Managed Release" uncked in the configuration of the Business component configuration.

  • Start and stop Weblogic Server 5.1 on unix system

    Hello,
    How do I stop Weblogic Server 5.1 after I run startWebLogic.sh without
    Weblogic Console? What's the best way to start weblogic Server in unix?
    Create a user "weblogic" and start manually everytime I reboot the system or
    build a script?
    Thanks,
    Hiu Sing

    What's the best way to start weblogic Server in unix?I would suggest you start the WLS from command line using our
    build script or your own customized scripts.
