Notifications in Training and Events

Hi Folks
we are implementing LSO for our client. Our client has a subsidiery in France and that subsidiery is using TEM. Now the scenario is that French implementation doesnt use the notifications and it is a requirement in our LSO implementation to trigger the notifications. If we activate them then they will start triggering for the french team as well.
How can we enable notifications for our client and disable them for the TEM implementation in france. Please keep in mind that they have a central server which will host TEM with LSO.

Thanx for your answer. The fact is that they have different requirements and thats why they are persisting with TEM. Moreover , they are using it in French and our implementation does not have a scope to implement it in multiple languages.
One example is they do not use the notifications at all . but they are using TEM from the R/3 side, just to administer the trainings. whereas in US implementations, employees can use the portal to book themselves and get the notifications along with demand planning and sophisticated reporting needs.
Can we stop it using Authorizations?
As an ABAPer I have an idea that I have to implement a BadI that will check the personnel area if that personnel area doesnt belong to US then it will suppress the automatic triggering of notifications.

    Hi Bill,
    In your case the event for triggering the email notifications will be when the booking is done. So before booking, for the object like Business event type and/or business event group some relationship exits. Once you do a booking of course, additional relationship will be created in different objects. Not exactly sure about the relationship code, but you can easily find out from hrp1001.
    So yoor program will check for this partcular relationship, and if it exists then will send mail notifications.

  • Appraisal for Training and Event Management

    Hi Friends,
    Hope every one doing well.
    I have a requirement regarding the Appraisal of Attendee and send to its reporting manager for review and Manger may change the rating and completed or reject for re-appraise from the attendee.
    Note: We are not using LSO, using old Training and event management and we don't have any ESS,MSS system simply doing in ECC system only.
    here i need the notification for the reporting manager once the attendee save his ratings, if i do with old appraisal functionality with APPCREATE & APPCHANGE system is not giving any notifications to the reporting manager.
    if i go to new appraisal system that is with PHAP_CATALOG and PHAP_ADMIN i am not able to get the course's what employee attended for the training.
    please can any one share your view how to do this.

    i can't go through new appraisal model with catalog & template, because client is not having ESS,MSS.  appraisal has to done in the ECC only.
    Done the customization like this :
    created scales
    created appraisal model and assign the scales
    for appraisal, Employee can do from APPCREATE transaction rate his own ratings and save.
    Now Appraiser (Manager) from APPCHANGE complete the appraisal.
    now my requirement is (1) after saving the APPCREATE by the employee, notification has to go to his reporting manager only. (2) Manager can do review/change and complete the process to his Employees only (who are reporting to him)
    how can i do this, standard functionality is there or i have to go for ABAP coding ? if ABAP coding what i have to ask them to do.
    Please help in this requirement.

    1st, please take a look at the documentation of SAP in the customizing. There the help is quite useful
    To add new fields do the following:
    - add the fields in structure CI_PPVARC
    - create a form for each field in customer report (use RHKMIT30 as copy pattern)
    - assign those fields in table T77VC
    Also, I suggest to create a new form and notification abbreviation.
    - create new notif. abbr. in table T77VE
    - assign the notif. abbr. to an activity in table T77VI
    - create a new form in SE71 (use a standard one as copy pattern e.g. HR_ALL_BUCH)
    - assign new action to the form in table T77VD

  • Corespondence in Training And Event Management

    Dear Friends,
    We are using Correspondence functionality in Training and Event management. We have done chnages in the SAP Script based forms and Automatic mail triggering is set properly.
    When mail notification is going to participants automatically then MAIL CONTENT is going as a PDF attachment file. When i am generating Correspondence Manually then notification is going as simple mail content, so formating of the mail in case of manual generation get distrubed. Header, text of mail and footer text are not coming properly in mail content.
    How i can send mail notification as PDF file for manual correspondence also ? I am using TEM module not LSO.

    Please open a new discussion for this as it's a different question. Not only is this stated in the guidelines and makes it easier for other members to search for the right things, but it also increases your chances of getting the right answers, because users know you are looking at LSO rather than TEM and because many users, sadly, are driven by points primarily for giving answers and know you could not mark their answer as correct, because it's not your post.
    Please also give context info: which correspondence solution are you using (Smartforms, Adobe forms, SAPscript) and which version of LSO. 

  • Training and Event Workflows Issue

    Hi Workflow gurus,
    I am working on Training and Event Management Workflows.
    When I create a booking or pre-booking or cancellation, I am expecting one of the following workflows to trigger.
    WS 01200147     Approve Employee Attendance Cancellation
    WS 01200151     Approve Employee's Attendance Booking
    WS 01200160     Approve Employee's Rebooking
    But workflow WS 00400120 (Correspondence error handling) is triggered.
    As per SAP documentation on Training and Event Management, Workflow WS 00400120 will be triggered for one of the following reason -
    1. Lacking authorization
    2. Missing parameters (Plan version, notification abbreviations and so on)
    3. Missing forms
    4. Form not allowed for user (user group)
    5. Incorrect recipient
    6. Missing address/name of output medium
    I am having SAP_ALL authorization, Plan Version, notif abbr, forms are maintained. Email addresses for the managers / employees / HR administrators are maintained.
    Event linkage entries are active for all above workflows.
    Can somebody help me to resolve this?

    Training Management --> Day-to-Day Activities ---> Approval Workflow ---> Specify Delivery Method-Dependent Workflow Settings.
    EXAMPLE:
    Standard workflow for participation approval
    If you want to use the standard workflow for participation approval, make the following settings in the Workflow Settings infotype:
    ACTIONTYPE = BOOK (Book course participation)
    LEARNERTYPE = P (Learner of the type Person)
    WF_TASK = 12000003 (task)
    BO_TYPE = LSO_PARTIC (object type)
    WF_EVENT= BOOKREQUEST (event)
    WF_ACTION = E (Type of event generation)
    REQUEST_PERIOD = 0014 (the deadline for requesting participation is 14 days before the start of the course)
    APPROVAL_PERIOD = 0007 (the deadline for approving or rejecting
    participation is 7 days before the start of the course)
    Standard workflow for participation cancellation
    If you want to use the standard workflow for participation cancellation, make the following settings in the Workflow Settings infotype:

    i hav a doubt.. is it possible to send a mail aotumatically to the invities who attend the training???? actually i tried in correspondance where we hav an option to send a mail which i hav checked.. then i clicked on output,,,, but it gav som error "test variables , see log".... what is this error??? plz help me....

    Hi,
    each type of notification is linked to a standard text in table T77VD. The standard SAP texts contain fields that are dynamically filled e.g. Course name, Instructor name, Location etc. If even one of the required variables is missing when you produce the text (e.g. you have not booked an instructor), the notification is not sent.
    You can see why the error occured in transactions PVK0 or PP40, which manage correspondence in Training and Events.

  • Business Event Brochure in Training and Event Management?

    My client has a requirement as follows. The training administrator decides the Business Event Types which for which superiors can book their subordinates or not. Those events are stored at a particular place. Once the administrator stores them, a mail should be triggered to all the superiors. Thus superior can have a list of event types for which he can book his subordinates. When he books for such events, a mail should be triggered to his subordinates regarding the training event. If an employee books for an event, a mail should be triggered to his superior for approval.
    How is this possible? According to me, those events will be "Included in Brochure" (in Business Event Type Infotype). Am I right?

    I wish to track actual cost per event in PE (TEM - Training and Event Management).  Was considering having a Internal order per Instance of event. Have any Idea on how to set up something like this?

    Hi Dean,
    using internal orders you have to consider that sending and receiving cost center have to in the same company code.
    If you do not want to distribute the costs to FI/CO but only report them, you can use the cost items provided by TEM. We have set up something similar for our plants in South Europe.
    We have created some cost items and fill them manually with the training costs. Additionally we have created a report that evaluated this costs and combines them with the employee costs (derived from salary).

    My client wants that users can see only courses of training and event management business catalog in ESS, they can't book or do any activities related to TEM. How we can put restriction for that requirement. We are using ITS services PV7I and PV8I.

  • Appraisals & training and event management problem

    I'm trying to configured the integration between Appraisal and Training & Event management (Appraising a Business Event and Attendee Appraisal
    I set an attribute HAP00 REPLA = A .
    But two problems occurred.
    1.
    The definition of Appraisal catalog for employees is no problem. But I have a problem with definition of Appraisal catalog for Business event and for Attendees.
    Through the definition of Appraisal catalog via SPRO (Training and Event Management/Recurring Activities/Appraisals/Edit Appraisals Catalog) its possible to create an appraisal templates only for employees (it looks like that, because there is only Category group Personnel Appraisals and it’s not possible to add new category for example Attendee Appraisal).
    Can somebody help me where I can define appraisal templates for Event management or how can I get the Appraisal catalog category groups - Appraising a Business Event and Attendee Appraisal?
    2.
    I set the attributes SEMIN EVAEV/EVAPA to the values 2/3 in connection with table T77BF.
    When I run tcode PV33 or PV34 the matchcode of appraisal templates contains the list of all object type VA. The problem is that when I run tcode PV33 I don’t want to see all appraisal templates, but only for appraising a Business Event.
    It is possible to configure that so? If yes, how.
