Number displaying beside Movies in iTunes 11

all of a sudden i have a number showing beside my movies on the sidebar in iTunes 11.
I habve about 100 movies but the number showing is 42.
What is this pleae and how do i get rid of it ?

I found out what it is.
For some reason the Number relates to UNWATCHED movies.
Thats odd ... I have watched them all but all of a sudden iTunes thinks I have not.
Never mind .. I have marked them all as watched and the pesky number has gone.
Phew !

  • AppleTV (1g) doesn't display all movies in iTunes.

My appletv is set up in sync mode. It is supposed to show all synced content - and content on iTunes if it is running. My AppleTV is only showing synced content. I reset it back to factory and started again. It worked (displaying both local and itunes content) and then about an hour later reverted back to showing only the local (ATV) content. iTunes, MacOS, ATV software versions are all the latest. HELP please!

No iTunes is up and running. I can see the ATV library (greyed out) on iTunes, and I can see the iTunes library as well.
On your Apple TV, when you go to settings, computers...
is your library link displayed in white text or grey text?
white text = linked and connected
gray text = linked but not connected
if you see it displayed in gray text then likely there is a connection problem.
I'd begin troubleshooting by connecting the ATV via an ethernet cable.

  • AppleTV not displaying all movies in iTunes Store

I've had this problem for a while and can't figure it out... whether by Genre or even in the Top 100 HD rentals, AppleTV is not displaying all the movies from A-Z. I don't mean that the onesheet posters haven't loaded and the blank markers are in their place. I mean these screens literally do not show any more selections to scroll through... I get maybe less than a third, say into the F's, and there's no more movies.
Any ideas what is going on here and what the fix is? I've got the latest AppleTV updates installed, and I'm running 10.5.x on my computers.

Winston, how do you know that Apple is aware of this issue? I haven't seen a press release for it. This problem has been driving me nuts and I hope it gets fixed soon.
Because I have access to a special restricted area of these forums and when an issue arises that appears to be a genuine Apple problem rather than simply a user problem I pass it on, so I know they know. And no, there is no response to pass on at this stage.

  • HT4241 How do I get an Epson EX5210 to display using the HDMI mini display port adapter so I can see 1080p downloaded movie from iTunes? It won't recognize the display via hdmi cable and adapter!

Please help! I've tried everything to get this dang thing to display a downloaded movie from itunes on my epson EX5210 lcd projector via a HDMI cable plugged into a minidisplay port adapter. I am no expert and have no idea what to do!

It's all in the manual... starting on page 26...
USB seems to work as well. Tried that?
By the way, this dang thing has "only" 768 physical pixels vertically, so "1080p" won't be visible anyway, and scaling will take place. Hope you won't be diappointed. All specs including resolutions here.

  • I am unable to play a downloaded HD movie from iTunes. SD movies play OK. An error popped up saying something about the display not suitable for HD movies but now all I get is a blank window. I have tried changing the display resolution to no avail.

I have sownloaded an HD movie from iTunes store and when I attempted to play it on my Windows 7 PC a error message popped up saying something about the display not being compatible for HD movies. I have tried changing the display resolution several times but it didn't help. Now it just comes up with a blank screen when I attempt to play it. SD movies work fine. I have the latest version of iTunes installed.
Can anyone help me resolve this problem?

Apparently the display is required to be HDCP compatible to view HD movies in iTunes. My display isn't so this is my problem. I contacted Apple support and they have agreed to credit me for the HD movie and I have now downloaded the SD version.

  • I have a number of audiobooks purchased through iTunes on my iPod touch.  Is there a way to move or download them to the Cloud so that I can access them on other devices?

I have a number of audiobooks purchased through iTunes on my iPod touch.  Is there a way to move or download them to the Cloud so that I can access them on other devices?

Thanks - I didn't realize that.  I'm also embarrassed to admit that I don't know how to transfer the audio files from my iPod to the iTunes library on my computer.  When I select a book from the list on the iPod, the only option I see with the right-facing arrow symbol is "Show in iTunes Store ".  I back the iPod up to this computer so I guess those files must be on it somewhere, but all I can recognize in the iTunes folder under " Music"  are the music files found in the "iTunes Music" folder. (There are also a ton of files named "iTunes Temp (some #).) The Books list on the computer shows some but not all of the audiobooks -  I purchased the rest on a different computer that is now unfortunately dead. I'm guessing now that those didn't transfer over when the new computer was populated from the old one, so the iPod may be the only place where those audiobooks now reside.  I hope that made some sense- any additional advice would be appreciated.

  • I have a macbook pro 15" Retina Display with 2.6 ghz and 8gb of ram yet when i try to download a HD movie from itunes it says my computer doesn't support HD?

i have a macbook pro 15" retina Display with 2.6 ghz and 8gb of ram when i try to download an HD movie from itunes it says my computer doesn't support HD? i went to the support on the apple website and looked at the specs that a computer has to meet in order to play HD movies and mine is well above them. Why can't i play the movies?

That would at least partially explain it.
These MacBook Pros drew more power than the power brick could readily supply, and so would only run at top speed when the power brick was supplemented by the battery.
Though the applicable tech note has been removed, it stated:
"If the battery is removed from a MacBook or MacBook Pro, the computer will automatically reduce the processor speed. This prevents the computer from shutting down if it demands more power than the A/C adapter alone can provide."

  • I purchased a movie via Itunes and it does not display as a purchased item on my Apple TV yet A TV show I bought does.

I purchased a movie via Itunes and it does not display as a purchased item on my Apple TV yet A TV show I bought does. The only way I can view it is if I turn on home sharing and the movie is downloaded to my PC. Is this normal?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Perfectly normal, purchased items only applies to TV shows, the studios have not licensed movies for redownloading.

  • Unable to purchase HD movies on iTunes to watch on my Macbook Pro with Retina Display?

I tried to purchase HD movies on itunes but was presented with an error message saying 'This cannot be played in HD on this computer. If you buy the HD version, you will have to transfer it to an HD-compatible device in order to watch it. Or, you can buy the SD version and watch it on this computer.' but this was obviously not right because i'm using a Macbook Pro with Retina Display 15" and it's resolution of 2880x1800 far exceeds the minimum screen resolution required for HD playback. Performance was not the cause either as this is an 2.6ghz quad core computer with 16GB of RAM. Any help on this matter? Thanks in advance.

I talked to Apple Support and we at least stopped the bleeding, a little bit. These are the troubleshooting steps I did before I contacted Apple Support:
    1. Reinstalled OSX
    2. Restore the last known good Time Machine Backup.
This did not fix my issue, so I called Apple Support and they told me this:
    1. Turn Power off.
    2. Wait 15 seconds.
    3. Plug in Magsafe adapter.
    4. Wait 15 seconds.
    5. Hold down the Shift+Option+Power Button for 20-30 seconds.
    6. Turn Power back on.
Ok, this stopped the bleeding a little, but as soon as I plugged in a Apple USB Superdrive
and a Apple Mini Displayport to VGA Adapter. This "USB Devices Disabled" pop-up pops up like every 30 minutes now. At least, it is not constantly popping up after I close it, so I guess it will do for the temporary. Going to contact Apple support, later, though to see what else can be done.

  • ITunes store for iPad won't display the movies / tvshow taps

My iPad iTunes store will not display the (movies , tv show, music) taps at the end of the screen.

    Howard-
Could you have used a different computer to do the initial setup of your iPad?  If so, the other computer's Apple ID may be what the iTunes store is looking for.
To get around that, you may need to connect to your computer that has the correct ID and restore from iTunes.  In the worst case, you might need to reset the iPad to factory settings by erasing all data, and then set it up as new.

just a hunch but do you us more than one iTMS account to purchase content ?
right-click on the app in iTunes and +get info+. go to the summary pane and check with which account it was purchased
if you then log into that account, you should be able to update the app and the number will disappear.

Is the movie still buffering? you may have a slow internet connection. Music files require far less bandwidth than movies.

Can anyone help  I have just bought alot of movies and tv shows and want to watch them with my family not just on my ipad!!!
Not sure why this has just started happening.  have been using apple tv with my ipad for months and now it comes up with this error...
    THanks

Firstly restart the AppleTV, secondly check the HDMI lead and if possible swap for another or another HDMI input - sounds as though AppleTV thinks the TV is not HDCP capable.
