Number of frames in the cockpit-

Hellow everyone,
I created 4 frames under a logic view in my cockpit, when presenting the cockpit   6 boxes of frames are presented ( 2 are empty ).
Can I present only 4 frames under a logic view?
Thanks

Hi,
I understand your problem. But afraid to say it is not possible. As BSP application for MC is designed in that way. though you have not assign the Six frames system will show all six frames and graphs on selcted one.

  • Black frames at the end of an exported file when converting from 60p to 24p

    I have another export issue that I can't figure out.
    I import footage I shot at 23.98fps (on a JVC HD100) using a Kona LH card at 59.94fps DVCPro HD, in which it has a 2:3 cadence. I need to make files that are actually 23.98p DVCProHD. Unfortunately, when I export in Final Cut from the 59.94 original, the new 23.98 file has all of the image, exported correctly, followed by a number of black frames such that the total number of frames in the exported file equals the number of frames in the original file. That is:
    If the original 59.94 file was 3s long, that is 60 * 3 = 180 frames. The exported 23.98 file also has 180 frames, but only 3s of image = 3 * 24 = 72 frames, followed by 180 - 72 = 108 frames = 4s 12frames of black.
    How can I prevent this from happening, and end up with an exported file that is (e.g.) just the 3s of image, and not 7.5s of which 4.5s are black?
    It's true that I can manually clip this black off, but I need to do many clips as a batch, and would really not have to change one clip at a time. It is also true that I can do a batch in compressor, and that this process does not suffer this problem -- that is, there is no extra black -- however, there is another problem: the original 59.94 DVCProHD files are actually 1280x720 with square pixels; the files exported from FCP via the KONA DVCProHD codec maintain this true HD proportion, but the ones exprted through compressor (which does not appear to support the KONA LH implementation of DVCProHD as an option) have the size 960x720 with anamorphic pixels, and I would rather keep the original size. Thus, I would rather export from fcp. If anyone has any insight into how I might resolve this....
    Thanks,
    Robert Schaller

    Thanks. If I understand you correctly, it does seem to export correctly if I paste the 59.94 clip into a 23.98 sequence (you can't nest sequences that have different time bases) and export from there, and it doesn't even have to specify square pixels, etc.: the AJA codec implementation seems to take care of that. There is no longer any extra black, so, per file, that gives the right result.
    That, however, is only one part of the problem, though a significant part. Next is, I really would like to do this as a batch process, as I tend to have many clips to do at one time. As soon as I try any kind of batch export, I end up with one of two problems:
    1) if I try to batch export from fcp, I'm back to having extra black frames, or
    2) if I try to batch export with compressor, I get 960x720 files.
    If anyone has any suggestions on how to get the right files in a batch, that would be the next step. Is fcp scriptable? And, if so, can you write a script that takes a clip, pastes it into a blank 23.98 DVCPro timeline, sets the correct in and out points (i.e, in at the beginning and out 1 before the end), exports it with a specified codec and time base, with a name based on the source clip, and then repeats that as needed?
    Thanks for any input --
    Robert Schaller

  • How do i reduce the number of frames in a UIView animation

    When animating a Uiview... for example the center of a UIImageView.... is there a way to reduce the number of frames that occur during the animation?
    The framerate is too high and making my app slow down significantly... thanks.

    If you do not have an image editor that allows to do that then use one of the online sites to resize images.

  • It's possible to set the number of frame?

    It is recommand to set the number of channels as low as possible, and it is easy to do. But it is recommended to decrease the number of frames? If yes, how can i do it? It seems to me that the manuals do not mention this aspect.
    Thanks.

    Yes but if it is so why it is recommended to set the numbers of channels as low as possible?
    It is sure that is not possible to to set the number of frame? I remember that long time ago  maybe I find something about how to set the frame's number, but
    it is possible that I'm wrong.
    Thank you.

  • Can i change the number of frames when create a layer in  photoshop?

    Hello, well that's my doubt, when i'm animating at photoshop n i create a layer, creates almost 30 frames in the timeline, can i change that?

    I can render a frame animation out as a video. Are you doing and animation or video editing? Your showing a video timeline there not a frame animation timeline. You can also convert between the types of timelines.  Though I had done so it was out of curiosity I don't really do video of frame animations. I just play with Photoshop some to keep my mind in working order. I also just dropped a Bonjovi Mpeg video on Photoshop and it came in as 5 minutes 41 seconds don't know how many frames. You can also import video as frame animation however I have not and don know what would become of the audio. Just tried seems import is limited to 500 frames. Photoshop also has a 8000 layer limit. I tried flatting the 5:41Bonjovi to frames the progress bar when halfway and Photoshop was none responsive anw was getting CPU seldom. I kill it and restatred it and dropped a 57 secon video on Photoshop. That flatten to frames quickly at 30/sec frames that came to 1738 layers I lost the audio. So Photoshop 8000 layer limit would get in the way around 4 and a halt minutes. Bonjovi was 5+

  • How do I loop back from the first frame to the last frame?

    Hi there,
    I'm currently working on the framework for a product viewer.
    I have:
    a movie clip called 'viewer_mc' which contains the images take from different angles of the product. The actionscript generates a script on the last frame of this that returns it to frame 1.
    a button instance called 'autoplay_btn' which plays through the movie clip from whatever the current frame is, and stops on frame 1.
    a left and right button which serve to move the movie clip frame, to give the appearance that the product is rotating.
    I have succeeded in getting it to:
    have the movie clip play through once, return to frame 1 and stop.
    have the buttons return functions when held down, that move the frame in the movie clip using nextFrame and prevFrame commands. The right button successfully loops round to frame 1 and continues functioning to give the appearance of continual rotation.
    The last problem I am experiencing is getting the left button to act in the corresponding manner, going from the first frame to the last and continuing to function.
    Here is my actionscript so far:
    import flash.events.MouseEvent;
    var lastFrame:Number = viewer_mc.totalFrames;
    var thisFrame:Number = viewer_mc.currentFrame;
    var backFrame:Number = viewer_mc.currentFrame-1;
    1. This is the part that gets it to play through once before returning to the first frame. I think perhaps the problem I am experiencing is because of the 'viewer_mc.addFrameScript(lastFrame-1, toStart)' part i.e. although I'm holding the left button, its returning to this script and therefor getting bounced back immediately to the first frame. However, there is no flicker on the screen which you might expect if this were the case
    Note - as this is a generic product viewer which I can use as a template I am using lastFrame etc. as opposed to typing the value in
    function toStart (){
              viewer_mc.gotoAndStop(1);
    viewer_mc.addFrameScript(lastFrame-1, toStart);
    2. This is the functionality for the autoplay_btn that will play through a rotation / return the viewer to the initial (frontal) view of the product (frame 1).
    autoplay_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, autoplay);
    function autoplay (ev:MouseEvent):void{
              var startFrame:Number = viewer_mc.currentFrame;
              viewer_mc.gotoAndPlay(startFrame);
    3. This is the functionality of the right button, which when held, moves the movie clip to the next frame via the 'rotateRight' function based on the 'nextFrame' command. It loops back round to the first frame due to the 'viewer_mc.addFrameScript(lastFrame-1, toStart)' script generated on the last frame of the movie clip, as is desired.
    right_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, rightDown);
    function rightDown(e:Event){
        stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP,stoprightDown); //listen for mouse up on the stage, in case the finger/mouse moved off of the button accidentally when they release.
        addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME,rotateRight); //while the mouse is down, run the tick function once every frame as per the project frame rate
    function stoprightDown(e:Event):void {
        removeEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME,rotateRight);  //stop running the tick function every frame now that the mouse is up
        stage.removeEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP,stoprightDown); //remove the listener for mouse up
    function rotateRight(e:Event):void {
        viewer_mc.nextFrame();
    4. This is the functionality of the left button, which when held, moves the movie clip to the prev frame via the 'rotateRight' function based on the 'prevFrame' command. And this is where the problem lies, as although it works for getting the movieclip back to frame 1, it does not loop round to the last frame and continue functioning, as is wanted.
    left_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, leftDown);
    function leftDown(e:Event){
        stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP,stopleftDown); //listen for mouse up on the stage, in case the finger/mouse moved off of the button accidentally when they release.
        addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME,rotateLeft); //while the mouse is down, run the tick function once every frame as per the project frame rate
    function stopleftDown(e:Event):void {
        removeEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME,rotateLeft);  //stop running the tick function every frame now that the mouse is up
        stage.removeEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP,stopleftDown); //remove the listener for mouse up
    I'd imagine it is probably my logic for this part that is really letting me down - I can do a similar function in actionscript 2, but am trying to learn actionscript 3 just to move with the times as it were, and struggling a bit. Still this is only a few days in!
    function rotateLeft(e:Event):void{
              if(thisFrame==1){
                        gotoAndStop(viewer_mc.totalFrames-1);
              } else{
              viewer_mc.prevFrame();
    Any help you can give me would be gratefully received. For an example of the effect I am trying to achieve with the autoplay button etc. I recommend:

    Thanks for getting back to me.
    Here's the code without my comments / explanations:
    import flash.events.MouseEvent;
    import flash.events.Event;
    var lastFrame:Number = viewer_mc.totalFrames;
    var thisFrame:Number = viewer_mc.currentFrame;
    var backFrame:Number = viewer_mc.currentFrame-1;
    function toStart (){
              viewer_mc.gotoAndStop(1);
    viewer_mc.addFrameScript(lastFrame-1, toStart);
    //last image of viewer_mc = first image of viewer_mc
    autoplay_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, autoplay);
    function autoplay (ev:MouseEvent):void{
              var startFrame:Number = viewer_mc.currentFrame;
              viewer_mc.gotoAndPlay(startFrame);
    right_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, rightDown);
    function rightDown(e:Event){
        stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP,stoprightDown); //listen for mouse up on the stage, in case the finger/mouse moved off of the button accidentally when they release.
        addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME,rotateRight); //while the mouse is down, run the tick function once every frame as per the project frame rate
    function stoprightDown(e:Event):void {
        removeEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME,rotateRight);  //stop running the tick function every frame now that the mouse is up
        stage.removeEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP,stoprightDown); //remove the listener for mouse up
    function rotateRight(e:Event):void {
        viewer_mc.nextFrame();
    left_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, leftDown);
    function leftDown(e:Event){
        stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP,stopleftDown); //listen for mouse up on the stage, in case the finger/mouse moved off of the button accidentally when they release.
        addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME,rotateLeft);//while the mouse is down, run the tick function once every frame as per the project frame rate
    function stopleftDown(e:Event):void {
        removeEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME,rotateLeft);  //stop running the tick function every frame now that the mouse is up
        stage.removeEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP,stopleftDown); //remove the listener for mouse up
    function rotateLeft(e:Event):void{
              viewer_mc.prevFrame();
    The definition of the rotateLeft function is where the problem lies I think - I've taken out my poor attempts at doing the logic from the previous post. If I were to write it out long-hand the statement I want to write is: 'If you get to frame 1 and function rotateLeft is called go to the end of the movie clip'.
    The reason I have to use the viewer_mc.totalFrames-1 definition in the addFrameScript call is the addFrameScript function is 0 based i.e. if you want to call frame 1 of the movieclip you have to return a value of 0 in the addFrameScript (or such is my understanding of it anyway). As such, the last image in the movie clip will need to be the view obtained at 360 degree rotation, which is of course the same view as at 0 degree rotation. As a consequence, the last frame in the movie clip is superfluous for the user, but necessary for the overall effect to be achieved. And, in addition, to keep up the effect of a 360 degree view when the rotateLeft function is called it needs to skip that last frame to go to the lastFrame-1 (or totalframes-1), or in other words, the view of the image prior to completing the full 360 rotation.
    the variables thisFrame and lastFrame are defined at the very top of the script. Like you said they might need to be defined or called on again elsewhere.

  • How to link a text box to an anchor frame in the master pages?

    Ok, as the title states, we are trying to figure out if it is possible to link a text box to an anchor frame in the master page. When you look at our Master Page layout, we have a text box in the upper left hand corner of the left hand page, this is used for our machine serial numbers. Then we have an anchor frame that automatically fills out the figure number. Let's say I have pages 2 & 3 (left & right), they have a S/N at the top of the page for the machine, then pages 4 & 5 have a different S/N. If I have to add more pages in between pages 2 & 3 (bumping the current 4 & 5 to 6 & 7), the anchor frame bumps to the next page, but the S/N text box doesn't. Is there a way to fix it so that they both move to the next page? Thanks for the help.
    P.S. I can include images and other info if needed.

    I have included a two pictures that should help me explain.
    Master Page:
    This is the master page set up, the "Page Text Box" has the flow set to "B" while the S/N text box has the flow set to "A". This setup is for our parts manuals, the left page is usually an illustration while the right page is usually a parts list. The text box, anchored frame & paragraph tag are empty in the master page set up. The "page text box" has a flow of "B" and the "S/N text box" has a master flow of "A".
    Body Page 1:
    When we create new pages, the paragraph tag automatically fills in the figure title on the left page, then we add an anchor frame within the text box to hold the illustration. You will notice that I added in a "test" serial number at the top of the page. Now if I need to go back and add two pages before this, the anchor frame, illustration and parts list will move to a new page, but the S/N text box will not. The "Before S/N TBD" would stay on the original page.
    This is what happens, the text box containing the illustration and the parts list "bump" to the next page, but the S/N text box does not. So the question we have is there a way to link that text box to the page so when we create new pages the S/N text box moves with the illustration.
    Does this help?
    Thanks for the assistance Error7103.

  • Deleting alternate frames from the timeline

    Hi
    I have a movie which is made up of individual frames (like an
    old style cartoon animation), whereby each frame moves on a bit
    from the previous one and when viewed in Flash, looks like a movie.
    I want to remove some of the frames - probably every other
    frame to make the file size smaller. I can't find a way of doing
    this easily. I can select alternate frames using the 'Apple' key,
    but if I then go to Edit>Timeline>Remove frames or >Clear
    frames, it doesn't actually remove the frames I've highlighted.
    Am I missing something?
    Many thanks for any help.

    You will need to make a command.
    In Flash CS3 select a new JSFL file. Then add this code:
    (note:code is not tested, might contain typos)
    var frmCount =
    fl.getDocumentDOM().getTimeline().layers[0].frameCount;
    var curTimeLn = fl.getDocumentDOM().getTimeline();
    var curFrame =
    fl.getDocumentDOM().getTimeline().currentFrame;
    var stFrame = curFrame;
    for (i=0; i < (frmCount - stFrame)/2; i++) {
    curTimeLn.removeFrames(curFrame);
    curFrame += 2;
    The top section is just variables to make the code easier to
    write. The for loop simply goes through the timeline starting at
    the frame you have selected and deletes it and then moves two
    frames and runs again (deleting that frame) until it has reached
    the end of the timeline.
    Save this file with whatever name you wish to call this
    command ('twoFrame Remover'?), in your commands folder.
    C:\Documents and Settings\...your logon here...\Local
    Settings\Application Data\Adobe\Flash
    CS3\en\Configuration\Tools\commands
    After saving it, you should find it in your commands drop
    down menu item.
    If this does not remove the frames the way you want, you can
    simply undo the command and fix the code as you need it. If you
    know the number of frames you want removed, you can simply hard
    code the number instead of going all the way to the end of the
    timeline. Of course you will have to change the command every time
    you want to use it. But it is easy to play around with it and get
    what you want out of it. You can easily remove every 3rd frame, or
    4th frame etc. Just adjust the code and save it.
    Hope that helps.

  • Retiming with same number of frames

    Hi (couldn't find this) - If I want to convert my source video to a new frame rate -- but keep exactly the same number of frames -- what is the best way to do that?
    Do I just set my desired frame rate in the Encoder tab and then set duration to 100% in the Frame controls? Does that give me the just the original frames in the source, but at a different speed?
    Thanks, PH

    OK -- I figured it out!

  • Find a text frame on the page with script label

    hello to all

    Hi Roberto,
    Welcome to the forum,
    This will find the labeled textFrame on the active page.

  • Dropped frames on the timeline... why ??

    Hi everybody,
    This is my first post here... i'm French, so please excuse my english
    I have a little but very annoying problem on Final Cut Pro 7.
    I work with a Canon HV40, HDV 1080 25p.
    The FCP project is set on HDV 1080 25p.
    When i play the imported footage from the browser in the viewer : everything's fine.
    But then, when i take a clip, put it on the timeline, and read it in the canvas, some frames seem to have disappeared. Like 1 or 2 times per second (i haven't really counted), one frame is missing. I have no error message for that, as if it was perfectly normal...
    I read like half the internet to find out about this problem, but no answer seemed good enough for me.
    Some clues to solve the puzzle :
    1/ every other program was shut down.
    2/ the very same frames are missing, every time i play the timeline. So i guess it doesn't seem to be random.
    3/ When i use the left and right arrow keys to play the timeline "frame by frame", i can see that the frames are really missing. My conclusion is that it's not a problem of power, or ram or whatever. The frames really seem to have disappeared. When i export the project, the frames are missing in the created film too.
    4/ Again, playing clips in the browser is absolutely fine. No dropped frames. The problems appear when the clip is on the timeline. Maybe the timeline has properties that i haven't coreectly configured ?
    5/ This is the very first time i use FCP... this means the solution can be very simple (I used to work with Pinnacle Liquid Edition, on PC)
    If anyone has an idea...
    Thank you very much for your help.

    Here are some new elements !
    I decided to hunt every missing frame, and the answer is : one missing frame every 25 frames. Which means 24 frames are normal, 1 is erased, 24 normal, 1 missing, and so on.
    This confirms :
    - it's not a random bug
    - it's related to the number of frames per second
    - I am the one who did something wrong... Final Cut is probably innocent !
    I zoomed on the time line. The timecode goes :
    00:00:00:00
    00:00:00:01
    00:00:00:02
    00:00:00:22
    00:00:00:23
    00:00:01:00
    This would mean 24 frames per second ?!
    I thought i had set everything i could on HDV 1080p25 or 25 fps everytime FCP asked... turns out i was wrong.
    When I click "Sequence", "Settings", i can see Quick Time Compressor is set at "HDV 1080p25", but Timebase says 23,98.
    I guess it could be the problem... do i have to change the Timebase ? How do i do that ?
    Thanks again for your help.

  • Preloader that loads a percentage or specified number of frames, help please

    hi,
    i've googled and searched the forum here for a (simple) way
    to use a preloader that loads a percentage or specified number of
    frames. What i find is preloaders that load the total frames.
    here is the action script used:
    if (_framesloaded>=_totalframes) {
    gotoAndPlay("Scene 1",1);
    } else {
    gotoAndPlay("preload",1);
    is there a way to modify this simple script or do i need to
    use another script? i tried changing "totalframes" to "300frames".
    But it didn't work and i just shooting in the dark here.
    help please
    thanks
    gregory

    "why would you not want the whole file to load? "
    yes i want the whole file to load.
    What i'm asking is how to specify in the preloader how many
    frames will load before the file plays.
    "although you could start the file after a certain amount of
    frames are loaded, but I still do not see the point"
    the reason you would be to not have a long wait while the
    entire file loads. Flash will stream the rest of the file as the
    preloaded section of the file starts playing.

  • Number of Frames in Animation?

      Hello! I was just wondering if there was anyway to figure out how many frames you have in an animation? Thank you if someone can tell me.

    You can set the number of frames per second or FPS. Knowing this number, you can figure out how many frames are in your animation
    Ex. 30fps for a 1 minute animation would be
    30 frames x 60 seconds = 1800 frames
    So a five minute animation is
    30 x 60 x 5 = 9000 frames

  • Hello, i'm creating a very simple animation in ps cs5, but when I try to transform a smart object in a frame, all the frames are affected by it. What can I do ? Thanks, Ep

    Hello, i'm creating a very simple animation in ps cs5, but when I try to transform a smart object in a frame, all the frames are affected by it. What can I do ? Thanks, Ep

    Ok, you are in frame animation mode. I thought cs5 had a timeline mode, but now I think I was wrong.
    In frame animation mode what you do is in one frame you have the object rotated in one position, then select an other frame and rotate it. If it rotates the first frame, which I think it will. Create duplicate of the object in a new layer. Then rotate the second layer.
    At this point in my example you would have two layers, one of which has a rotated object.
    Clear the frames
    Convert the two layers to frames.
    You now have two frames, one for each layer.
    Select both frames then click the tween button.
    This will create the in between frames.
    In the tween dialog box the higher the number of frames set here, will create a smoother animation but will result in a longer time frame for the animation to play.
    Because Photoshop has no way of knowing which way the object should rotate, it is feasible for it to rotate the opposite direction or could look wonky. Just undo and add an in between layer showing how it should look in the middle, then continue on.
    So your layers should be the following, a frame that shows all objects in their rest state.
    All objects that remain in a rest state must be copied to the next layer (ctrl-j on Windows or cmd-j on Mac)
    All subsequent layers are then used for rotating a duplicate of the object. (Ctrl j or cmd j)
    You will find the commands to clear the frames, convert layers to frames and tweeting in the hidden menu found when you click the small icon in the upper right hand corner of the animation panel.
