Number pad doesn't work, and can't find Num Lock button
My number pad has stopped working. I looked in the User Guide which says I have a Num Lock button, but I don't. Where is it located. Thank you.
Solved - Never mind, I found it. I don't know why I couldn't find it last night. I'd looked for it before without finding it. For some reason, there it was this morning - where it should have been. I guess the computer elf came in an installed it. Thanks to anyone who may have thought of responding.

On line or otherwise, my number keypad doesn't work, then I get a 'freeze.' Number keypad works durning sign in.
I use Mac keyboard (original equipment).Hi, sometimes Shift+clear works as numlock.
Also open System Preferences>Universal Access>Keyboard tab, & see if Sticly keys is on.
One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport, or some USB or Firewire device, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts (Users & Groups in later OSX versions)>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

Unable to update, restore or recover. Slider doesn't slide and number pad doesn't work for passcode. What next? Worked last night . Battery charged. When I push Home button I get my backgroung but can't slide slider. Device is recognized by iTunes.Help! Thank you.
Besweet, I'm having the very same problem with 60GB colour which was bought new and worked for 6 months before suddenly just not being recognised by PC. I hadn't changed anything at all.
I've followed all troubleshooting advice and reinstalled and updated iTunes and iPod updater software but all troubleshooting routes seem to hit the dead end of either the need to access the iPod via the PC (which isn't possible as it's not showing up at all) or the iPod in disc mode stuck at "ok to disconnect".
It's still under 1yr warranty so will have to take to a dealer.
I'm sorry that's not much help for you but at least you know it's not a unique problem.

Download a piece of software called TinkerTool - that might just solve your problem. I have used it myself to change the system fonts on my iMac. It is software and not an app.

I have an HP dv6-3225dx laptop running Win 7 and Avast a/v.I think I have ff 5 but am not sure since I can't find the orange button mentioned in the video on getting started,nor can I find any navigation or toolbars. I've been a loyal ff user since you first started up to ff 3.6 last version and never had a pblm like this. I uninstalled Chrome because of this type of hassle. Ed-Meister, you did it again. At first, nothing happened when I hit Alt or when I hit Alt +V. I heard a little bell but no change to menu. Then I remembered reading a post yesterday from someone with a similar problem and a suggestion that they hit Alt + V+M. (When I tried yesterday, nothing happened). I tried it again today and there was the yellow ff icon on upper left. I clicked and there was the menu I'd seen on the getting started video. I made a few clicks and there was the old style toolbar I know and love and I was able to configure the browser to my liking.
In this case, at least, for me, Less Is Not More. Bless you and thanks again,pal. -
Apple Keyboard with number pad doesn't work with Mac Pro?
I have a Mac Pro, and have used an Apple Keyboard with a number pad (not bluetooth) with it for quite a while, with no problems. But then my keyboard broke and I ordered a replacement Apple Keyboard with a number pad (not bluetooth). This keyboard doesn't work with my Mac Pro. I have it plugged in, but I can't get the Mac Pro to consistently recognize that there is a USB keyboard connected to it. What magical stuff do I have to do to get the keyboard to be fit for purpose?
It would not hurt to try an SMC Reset. (But if it does not help, it adds credence to lllaass assertion that the keyboard is not working.)

Password number pad doesn't work.
I was playing with accessibility and the screen went black. Now I have the screen back after shaking it, but it is telling me to enter my passcode, yet when I press the number pad, no numbers transfer to the 4 boxes in the passcode area. So the ipod remains locked. Can anyone help?
Hi Jim - Thanks for your reply. I finally figured it out!. First I had to touch the first of the four passcode numbers, once. Then I had to double tap the first number again. Second number once, pause, then double tap second number twice. Repeat for third and fourth numbers. Voila! Finally! Then I was able to go to settings and turn off voice. phew.

My Live view doesn't work, it can't 'find my server'. But my server is connected and working. Why?

I am confused as to why my live view can't connect to my server. However I have successfully connected to my server outside of the live view and uploaded my website.
I am new to dreamweaver, and I trying to learn to build a wordpress site from sractch. This is the error message I get:
The page "http://ftp.stoneinyrshoe.co.uk/index.php" was not loaded because Dreamweaver could not find the server "ftp.stoneinyrshoe.co.uk". Please make sure you are connected to the internet and the server name is correct.
When I direct Live view (testing) to use the same site details as my main connection, it still doesn;t work.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
ThanksThat's an FTP address you are trying to connect do. That's different from the regular HTTP protocol. From the address you posted I'm wondering if you have installed MAMP/WAMP for a local server on your machine or if this testing server is separate from the actual domain serving the pages. Can you explain your setup a little more?

Touch pad doesn't work and some icons blinks after start up in hp dv4 pavilion 1211TU??
immediately after start up,my computer icon and task bar continuosly blinks and touch pad doesnt work,,it does'nt allow me to click on anything as everything seems to be blinking.and then if i press any button on keyboard the blinking stops and laptop works normally....is it a hardware problem or a software problem?

Im not sure I understand the issue. Do you receive any error messages when you log in? To me this sounds like a software issue. If everything works normal pressing a button I would assume all the hardware is fine.

junk mail filter in yosemite doesn't work. from the flags, i can't find the 'mark as junk' selection. Formerly clicking on the email address in question would allow one to 'remove from previous recipients' which would help to filter out spam. I've adjusted all the settings under mail preferences, but that is not helping.

When I am on a call and I come to hang up, the phone which when to my ear has a black screen, starts to light up so I can see and click the hang up button, but it then blacks out intermittently and in the brief moments it is lit up, the hang up button doesn't work unless I press the home or lock buttons first
Wow- thanks Jim! I removed the case and voila... it worked. Knock on wood that you solved my problem with such an incredibly simple solution. I'll find out where this proximity sensor is and make sure my case does not interfere with it.

I can't put numbers on the decimals. It only allow ,00 as decimals. If i put 33.00 it's ok but if i put 33.44 when i press enter changes to 3344 as an entire number, i've try everything and i can't find the solution. This should be a basic thing. How frustrating !!

It appears you have the cell formatted to Currency, with the default two decimal places.
What I don't understand, though is how Numbers arrived at a result of fifty five thousand five hundred fifty five on your entering the exact keystrokes in Yvan's post:
an equals sign, followed by five ones, followed by a forward slash, followed by a 2.
Here's the result I get:
Could you do the following:
Open a NEW Numbers document using the Blank template.
Drag the Row and Column control (bottom right corner) to reduce the table to two columns and three rows.
Enter the words "My table" in cell A1.
Click on cell B2 to select it, then enter the formula
=11111/5
Use only those eight keystrokes; do not include any commas, periods or other characters not shown.
Click on B2 again to select it.
Open the inspector and choose the Cell Format button.
Do not make any changes in the Inspector window.
Drag the Inspector window to the position shown in my screen shot.
Take a screen shot that includes the Formula bar, the Table (with cell B2 selected) and the Cell Format Inspector pane (the same screen area as in my screen shot above).
Post the screen shot in a reply to this post.

SCREEN SHOTS (Selected area)
Place the mouse pointer at the top left corner of the area you want to include.
Press shift-command-4.
The mouse pointer will change to a plus sign on a circle.
Hold down the mouse button and drag to the bottom right corner of the area you wan to capture.
Release the mouse button.
The screen shot will be saved to your desktop with the name "Picture 1" (The number will be different if you have taken other screen shots).
POSTING
In the Compose frame, place the Insertion point at the location you want the picture to be inserted.
Click the camera icon above the compose frame to open the Insert Image dialogue.
Click Choose file to open the Choose dialogue.
If necessary, navigate to the Desktop and click on the 'by date column header to sort the files by date, most recent at the top.
Select the most recent picture file.
Click Choose.
Wait for the picture's file name to appear beside Choose file.
Click insert image.
Done.

I have a stored procedure to insert data into one table. SP was compiled without error and executed without error (from log table to get information). But the data was not inserted into
the target table. I have tried different way to figure out the reason. But I failed to get any idea. Please help me to find possible reasons. The smple SP looks like this:

I have tested that "select record1, record2, record3, record4 from table1, table2, table3, table4" really fetch the 7,000 records. and if I only run part of SQL from SQLPLUS as
insert into target_table (column1, column2, column3, column4)
select record1, record2, record3, record4 from table1, table2, table3, table4
where clause;
It will work and insert 7,000 records into target table. Why did it not insert into target_table when execiting as stored procedure? Please help with your input. Thanks.

Basically. I have a friend from Australia, while I am from America. I met her on Twitter, blah, blah, blah. I'm trying to figure out how to message her with IMessage without using email. Because, I'm connected to my dad's ITunes account, so therefore, if I sent a message to her that way, my dad would get the too. MY number is hooked to IMessage, I checked. But, I just can't seem to message her from my phone, with my number with IMessage. It just sends as Text Message.
She must have an idevice. Her iMessage has to be on and connected to a source of data such as cellular data or wifi.
You would be fine as long as you use your number even on your dad apple account. Just as long as your dad uses his respective number or the account email as his iMessage then he won't be able to receive iMessages sent or receive from your number.
You must have cellular data or connected to wifi and iMessage has to be on in order for it to work as well.
