Number Range Creation

Hi,
I want to create Number Range for SERID data element. I have tried to created it via snro tcode but failed to generate Intervals. If possible please, give me detailed steps with example.

Thanks for your reply what I have tried is as following:
> Created Data Element ZFI_ID assigned to a Domain ZFI_ID
> Gave Ztabel in value table of domain
       ~ The Ztable have following fields:

Pls try with the following ,Hope it will help u out
Number Ranges can be maintained Internally by the system, however it can be maintained externally also if you customize it accordingly.
In Standard SAP the Transaction code for Maintaiing Number ranges externally is VN01.
Defining - The same can be reached through in IMG as : Sales & Distribution>Sales>Sales Document Header-->Define Number Ranges for Sales Documents.
Here you provide the system a specific Number range as follows:
Number range Key Start Number range End Number Range+Current Number
For Example: If you want to propose the following Number Range
*1 9000076000 9000076999 0
The Current Number field will be kept zero as you are proposing new number range and no sales documents have been created on it , Obviously..
*1 is a Unique Two digit Alphanumeric Key, while proposing your key, you should ensure that it should not be there in the system as existing.
If you propose a key that is there in the system or if the Number Range (Start and End Series) is there in the system already, the system will throw a message that Interval already already exists. So choose a key that is unique, and which is not there in the system.
Here , by making this , you are assigning a Key to a Number Range Series.
All the symbols can be used along with numbers from 0 to 9 and Alphabets from A to Z and in any order. For example: !1, ^A, BB,Z*,M2.........
Assigning - In Assigning, you assign the particular Sales Document to the Number Range you have already proposed as above.
The Assigning Part is done as follows:
The Two digit Alpha Numeric Key is maintained or Assigned to the respective Sales Document type in V0V8.
This can also be reached in IMG by:
Sales & Distribution>Sales>Sales Document Header-->Define Sales Document Types
Locate the particular Sales Doc Type, and double click on it to display it configuration. Here you put the Two Digit Number key in the Field- "Number range External Assignment"

Service order number range creation

Could anyone please tell me how can we create service order number range if we have done a new service order type creation, and what should we do: should we create the number range in development and then transport it to the production or we should directly create it in production.

HI,
You just define number range in tcode VN01, but remember that number ranges are not transportable.
Once you define number ranges in development, do the same in quality & production client.
Then attach number ranges in document type & transport this config to quality & production
Please see that before transportating, the number ranges must have been created in quality & production thru VN01.

Hi, Use T-code OBF4, Scroll to Doc type 'RE' which is standard used for Invoice of PO, double click on it, number object will be 51, then click on tab next to it 'Number range Information', enter your company code & maintain the Number range for Intervals, 51 & Year & then Numbers.

SNRO-Number range creation info req?

I need to create a no range for an object,can any one plz tell me how to do it?
I had a ztable in MM,in whcih i need to have a unque no. w.r.t a plant if the GR is done for any material in that plant.
How to do it.
currently,the GR is done by the report,but when the report is run by 2 users for 2 diff mateiral,in a same plant,it generate a same no. & display to both of them,but only one record is stored in the ztable.so it need to be corrected.
plz tell me teh way???

a new snro-object will probably not solve your problem. as far as i understood your post, you are using a custom Z-abap to post GRs. check that abap on these things:
how does it enqueue/dequeue objects it is currently handling?
how does it get the next number from the existing object?

Number Range Issue-WIP

we are doing WIP for production order executing tcode KO88, when
executing this tcode msg says "Define Number range for
settlement documents?, we created number range using tcode
KO8N(Maintain number ranges for settlement documents) from
number :0000000001 To Number 0001000000 current number: 0,after
we completed number range creation, we tired to execute same tcode
KO88 to run WIP but still we are getting same message "Define
Number range for settlement documents". any patch to be applied here?, pls help

Hi PP Guru's ,
Can anyone send me the user exit for the differnet number range creation for the same order type.
Same order type is used in two different Plants. So our client want to track the production order plantwise.

The number range is defined at order type level ( i.e. client level)
So if you want to use different number range for different plant, then use different order type for different plants.

Project ID have Project Code and Description
you can use Project ID which is a unique identifier for every project as a reference example shown.
here ZCHARM is the Project ID ...you can also use numbers if required.
There is no no. range concept for Projects

BP creation in CRM WebClient - Role and Number Range assignment

Hello,
I have the requirement to specify a particular number range and BP role when an Account is created in the CRM WebClient Interface.
For example as standard, when an employee is created through the CRM WebClient (BSP component BP_EMPL) the default employee role (BUP003) and the default number range are assigned to the BP.
I would need to specify a different number range and role to the employee
I've tried to configure the Account Identification profiles (activity "Define Account Identification Profiles" in customizing); with that activity you can specify which role and which number group you want to use for the BP (account) creation. However this customizing is affecting the IC WebClient only and not the CRM WebClient.
I was wondering if a similar customizing activity exists for the CRM WebClient (in particular for the BP_EMPL application), or if there's a way around this.
Anybody has an idea about how to solve this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.

I have done this by defaulting the bp group in the BADi
1.Go to the se18 and select BADI_CRM_BP_UIU_DEFAULTS and select the interface IF_UIU_BP_DEFAULTS
2. Go to the method IF_UIU_BP_DEFAULTS~GET_DEFAULT_VALUES and you can write your logic here to default the grouping.
In my case I wanted all accounts created to be defaulted to a particular grouping and my code looks like this
lv_name1 = lr_current->get_property_as_string( iv_attr_name ='BP_CATEGORY' ).
                    IF lv_name1 IS NOT INITIAL.
                      IF lv_name1 = '2'.
                        lr_current->set_property( iv_attr_name = 'BP_GROUP'
                                   iv_value = '0060' ).
                      ENDIF.
                    ENDIF.

Creation of HU in auto mode with external number range

Dear Experts,
         I'm stucking in a scenario related to HUM
There are two handling units -
1. Bag
2. Pallet
through T code HU02 , it's possible to create an HU and assign it internal generated number.
But as per our requirement , we want to assign the external number to the HU (which is barcode number of bag or pallet)
Can you pls let me know the process of assigning External number range to HU.
Also we want to create the HU automatically after GR in production (MIGO,101) , instead of manually via HU02.
Pls explin the process of creation of HU automatically also...

Check with FM BAPI_HU_PACK.For packing an item into HU.
For external number range you need configure external number range
SPRO>Logistics - General>Handling Unit Management>Basics>Technical Basics-->Define Number Ranges for Handling Units.
After GR for production you need to confighre internal number range for perticular packing material type then system will automatically pack and place in HU location.

BP creation number range issue in Ic webclient

Dear Experts,
I have been facing an issue in the creation of bp via ic webclient. there are number ranges 01, 02 and z1 made in the system, my requirement is to create bp coming in range z1. This is working fine while creating bps in sap using tcode BP.
But while creating BP through ic webclient, the number range falls in 01. I need to change this to z1. can anyone guide me in this issue? In account identification profiles, what are all parameters need to be checked? Thanks in advance

Hi,
The number range for the business partner is based upon the "Grouping" that you select. In the T code: BP it might be working fine because Z1 must be set as the internal number assignment, which makes it the default grouping for the BPs created in the SAP GUI.
In the Web UI - in the Account creation page ensure that you have the field "Grouping" displayed. The field is not avialable out-of-the-box on this page. If it is not available do the following: Hit the the config mode icon and -> Select General data viewset. Hit "Show avialable fields" and under "HEADER" structure look for "Grouping" field. Add it to the list of displayed fields and save this change.
Now in the General data view set you should be able to select the "Grouping" field and select the grouping that is assigned to your number range "Z1".

SNRO - Creation of Number range object problem

Hi Experts,
i wanted to create a number range object thru SNRO.
The creation was successful in DEV system.
when i tried to create the same number range object in QA server, i am getting the following error
"Changes to Repository or cross-client Customizing are not permitted - Choose 'Display object' or 'Cancel'."
this is a Znumber range used to generate sequential numbers using FM NUMBER_GET_NEXT
What could be the problem. how to over come this?
Is it the missing authorizations? if so what could be the authorization object (SU53 shows nothing)

I am confused with the conflicting answers for my problem. But anyways i could transport the number range object and could create a number range interval in QAS.
Thanks a lot for all your valuable inputs.
But i am still not out of this so called misconception - Are number range objects to be transported to QA or to be created afresh in QA/PRD?
Earlier some one told to be created but now i see they can be transported.
I was not ready to edit the options in SCC4 for the client to enable object creation.
