Numbers: Cell time calculation not adding the correct time

Greetings,
First, thank you in advance for your assistance. I have searched the board and where there are many great formulas, I have not found the answer to this challenge.
Cell A1 has a time for example 5:45 PM
Cell C1 has an amount of minutes for example 40
Cell B1 should be adding 40 minutes to 5:45 PM for result of 6:25 PM
Cell A2 picks up the value of Cell B1 as its starting value so that it can calculate the same formula for the next line.
This document is a schedule so that it adjusts the times based on the amount of minutes a segment is. I can post an excel file if that will assist, the excel formula for this in the B cell is A1+TIME(0,C1,0)
Again thank you in advance for any assistance in solving this challenge.
John

=TIME(HOUR(A),MINUTE(A)+C,0)
• Every time I may use them, I uses the "short references", those with no row num embedded.
• The TIME function requires three parameters,
a number of hours,
a number of minutes
a number of seconds
but the formula parser is fair enough to understand that, when the given number of minutes is greater than 59, it means some hours + some minutes.
And of course, mutatis mutandis, it's the same for the number of seconds.
This is why, when I want to display with the current format hh:mm:ss a decimal time value as those resulting of calculations, I don't spent time to isolate the number of hours, the number of minutes, the number of seconds. I just calculate the total number of seconds.
if cell B2 contains 0.1234490740741
I type =TIME(0,0,B24*6060) in cell C2
Then, applying the yy:mm:ss format I get 02:57:46
inserting =TIMEVALUE(C) in D2, I get 0.1234490740741
I know that this behavior is not described in the Help.
I don't feel that it's a sin.
It's for passing this kind of details that the forum exists.
I feel perfectly odd questions whose response is available in the Help but it's always a pleasure to help users to discover features which are only available "between the lines".

I posted this question a while ago and didn't receive any responses but there are a lot of people who have viewed it and 10 have said they have the same question so I thought I would update you that I added my nanny to my exchange server account (created an email for her) and I send all invites to that email address and they work.  So sending invites from an exchange server account to a non-exchange server account apparently is a bug so to solve it, get on an exchange server I guess.

The Time randomly changes by hours and minutes.  This morning it was off by 3 hours plus some minutes.  I am in the correct time zone and the Date & Time is set to Automatic; Time Zone is New York.  I have another iPhone 5c in my house hold and it does NOT experience the same issue.  Both iPhones are using the same Apple ID.  I have not reset the phone yet because I will lose all previous text messages etc.  I m also not able to connect to yahoo mail when the time is off and I am forced to send Text messages as opposed to iMessage, which has caused problems with my contacts NOT being able to text me.  This is a huge inconvenience.  I am on AT&T.  I went to their Corporate store today and they told me they were unable to assist me, that I need to take my phone to an Apple Store.  This is not acceptable.  The nearest iPhone store is more than 30 minutes from my work AND home.  I work late hours and it is very difficult to have to deal with this type of an issue.  Please assist.

Doing a reset, does not cause you to lose data, however a restore as new will.
a reset, hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.
If that doesn't work restore from your backup, if that doesn't work restore as new.  If that doesn't work, then schedule an appointment with the Genius bar and take trip to the Apple store.

  • Windows 8.1 will not keep the correct time on Dell PC - Clock worked fine when the machine had Windows 7 as OS.

I can set it manually or by Internet time sync but it does not keep time or update again from the Internet automatically.
Another real time wasting feature of Windows 8?  Gosh Microsoft, I really need to get some productive work done!

    Hi,
Meanwhile, you can also re-register time service in your Windows 8.1 system as a test
    Open commmand prompt
In the Command window type net stop w32time
    Type w32tm /unregister
    Type w32tm /register
    Type net start w32time
Check whether the time in your BIOS is correct.
If the Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 use different machines, and this issue only happened after you shut down your Windows 8.1 machine, then it might be the CMOS battery issue in your Windows 8.1 machine, you can consider to change a cmos battery.

  • We have an iphone 5c that is not keeping the correct time whether using the auto update or manual selection.  is this a os bug?

iphone 5c is not updating its time properly using set automatically.  is this an os bug?

    Hi TheLongRider,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I recommend this advice if the incorrect time is being set automatically:
Follow these steps. Test after each step to see if the issue is resolved.
Ensure that the version of iOS on your device is up to date.
If the option to enable date and time automatically is available, turn it on. Tap Settings > General > Date & Time.
Ensure that your time zone is set up correctly. Tap Settings > General > Date & Time > Time Zone.
If the incorrect date, time, or time zone is being set up automatically on the device, please notify your cellular provider. In the meantime, tap General > Date & Time and turn off Set Automatically. Then set the appropriate time and time zone manually.
If you are setting the time manually and it is still incorrect, this advice may apply:
Note: If you find that your device's time is incorrect after you sync with your computer, your computer's time may be incorrect. Verify the computer's time in System Preferences > Date & Time (you may want to select the checkbox to set the computer's date and time automatically).

  • Photos not showing in the correct time order in the timeline

On a recent holiday I was using both my iPhone and my dSLR to take photos. When I returned from holiday I noticed that the time on my dSLR was wrong. After I had imported the photos into the photo mac app I changed the timestamps to the correct one.
Unfortunately not all of the photos reordered themselves correctly in the timeline. They are no-longer in time order, near time order, but not perfect.
For example the first photo in the timeline currently starts at 12:30, about 5 photos later the timestamp is 11:20.
How do I get my photos to display in the correct time order in the timeline?

I think I've figured it out,
When I put in the time for my SLR I set the time zone to the holiday destination.
Despite having a local sim card and the iPhone correctly geotagging me in the location, not all the timezones on the iPhone photos are correct, some are home time zone, others are holiday timezone.
To fix it I used the adjust time tool to change the time zone, but leave the time the same and the photos magically reorganised into the correct place.
It seems the timezone is as important as time. I hope that helps other people

My iphone 4 has changed to daylight savings.  I do not live in an area with daylight savings?  How do i keep the phone on automatic with the correct time?

I have the same issue. I live in Arizona and we also don't do that stupid daylight savings. When I put it to auto it says Denver. Location should pick up Phoenix. Needs to get fixed because I have to manually set it every time I travel now until DST is over.

    Hi,
Try a Reset of the Phone... You will Not Lose Any Data...
Turn the Phone Off... ( if it isn’t already )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
The Apple logo will Appear and then Disappear...
    Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds...
    Release the Buttons...
    Turn the Phone On...

  • How can I get Messages to show the correct time for read receipts?

Messages in Mountain Lion shows the wrong time for read receipts. For example, my iPad will show a message was read at 3:37 pm but if I open Messages on my MacBook, the read receipt shows the time that I opened the Messages app as opposed to the time the message was actually read. This is not too much of an issue if my iPad is handy, but really, shouldn't Messages on my MacBook be able to show the correct time the message was read? It syncs all the other infromation with Messages on iOs.
I should mention that if Messages is running on my MacBook when the recipient reads the message, then it does show the correct time the message was read. It's if Messages was not running and I re-launch it that the read receipt time gets mixed up.

    HI,
As far as I am aware Messages marks or time stamps an iMessage at the time of receipt rather then the time you got around to reading it.
I will admit that in most cases reading and receiving as the app opens will be near enough the same time in some conversations.
Adding Time Stamps to Chat is what iChat has always done particularly with AIM based Chats.
The "Sync" in Messages is "display on all devices"  and after that each iMessages is dealth with separately on each device.
There is no syncing of deleting/dimssing an iMessages or having read it on another device.

  • Time machine not adding to existing backups.

I have a Late 2013 MBP. i7,16GB RAM and 500GB HD.My Time Machine is a WD My Passport 2GB partitioned into to two 1GB partitions. Time Machine had 472GB used of 1GB in backups.
I was having issues with apps (Ableton Live 9, Serato, MS Word, and several others) NOT opening and freezing. And I had to force close them. And at times I would have to reboot. I finally decided to wipe the SDD, reinstall the OS. These are the steps I did.
    Backed up on Time Machine
CMD+R on reboot to launch OS X Utilities
Used Disk Utilities to erase SDD
    Reinstall OSX
Once fresh OS was installed. I selected to use Time Machine when prompted by Migration Assistant to recover ALL files (Applications, 2 Users, and computer/network settings)
Everything was loaded and transferred from Time Machine as I had expected. Launchpad apps had to be reorganized (grouped back together), but everything seemed to be ok. Then I waited until the next day to back up to Time Machine again, in case something didn't work right.
So here is the crux of my problem and question. Since everything is exactly the same (computer name, user names, locations of files, apps, SDD name, etc),
Why did Time Machine start making a new 472GB image, thus now using 954GB out of 1GB available? Instead of just continuing to make an additional snapshot and adding to the original "set / group" of backups already there? To further my point, I had 14 separate backups (Jan 4th - Feb 22nd) all totaling 472GB. Then on Feb 23rd Time Machine backed the same EXACT files as the previous backup I had restored from in the SAME Time Machine folder (right underneath the Feb 22nd), yet the newest backup is ANOTHER 472GB.
Does Time Machine know that it is a restored "version" of the same MBP? And Time Machine is making a completely new backup of the same files to be "safe" since there is room on the HD? Im assuming that as time goes on and more backups are made the older ones will be deleted. Thus the original 472GB of backups will be freed up?
My apologies if I am not using the correct terminology and verbiage. Any thoughts or answers would be appreciated.

  • Error: JAR did not have the correct media type

    *** Error ***
A problem occured during deploying application from http://127.0.0.1:1267/Video.jad
    Reason:
JAR did not have the correct media type, it had application/x-java-archive
E:\Documents and Settings\MatLab2.R\My Documents\NetBeansProjects\Video\nbproject\build-impl.xml:202: exec returned: 1 BUILD FAILED (total time: 3 seconds)I encountered this just once when I run the sample code from JavaFX here using a mobile emulator. This code is for adding a media player. After that one time, the output doesn't contain error messages anymore and the screen just goes blank.
    What does this error mean?
    I used:
    JDK / JRE 6 u 18
    Netbeans 6.8
    JavaFX 1.2 SDK
    KLite Codec Pack Mega 583

    Hi!
I had the same problem as you did. I just found that the problem is that we only add the type JAD to the mime types, but we also have to add the JAR type.
Just add the following line to the mime.types file and it will work:
    application/java-archive      jar

  • Bug(?) with iCal - Can not change the event time

    Hello all,
First of all, let me preface my question by admitting that I'm new to the Mac world, transitioning from MS environment. So please, be a bit patient
    Now, on to my problem:
I have created events in iCal and I can not change the time for any event. The time that's always displayed is 15:54! I have checked the time zone setting to on/off to se if it makes a difference, but to no avail. I have also gone into preferences and under the General Tab, the Day starts at and the Day ends at: show three (3) selections; Noon, 15:54, Midnight !!???
I have changed the Show hours at a time, to see if that makes a difference, but it does not.
To add to the above mystery, I have created events with my mobile SonyEricsson K850i, with the correct time(s), date, etc., synchronized with iCal and the time changed to 15:54!!
This is a new MacBook Pro, with the latest patches! For some reason the iCal applet does not allow any changes to the time.
Any suggestions/help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi
I am having the exact same problem you discussed and was wondering whether you ever found a solution.
    Cheers,
    Anna
