Numbers freezing up!Can anyone help?

Everytime I try to open an excel spreadsheet in numbers, it takes forever to import. Everything is updated and I have reinstalled and restarted several times. Can anyone help?

If you have been inside the machine, verify your RAM sticks are fully seated.
If you have added non-OEM ram, remove it and try to boot.
Run the Apple HW CD and perform a ram test. What are the results?

I cannot activate icloud foto. When I click on icloud the window comes up but in seconds the possibility to click to activate foto freezes. Can anyone help. I have spent so many hours trying to solve the problem.

i am so tired. Have used many hours now to find a way to get my fotos from my Iphone to my PC'er (windows 7). You have a Combination BluRay and Surround System that includes WIRELESS Rear Speakers:
Rear wireless ready: Yes, 5.1ch wireless system included, 7.1ch wireless option with purchase of SH-FX67 + SB-HS100A
This could account for why the BluRay is generating interference with your wireless network signal.
You can go thru the process of changing the wireless channels and other changes to the Verizon Actiontec Router or hook up your old router which was working before you switched to FIOS.
FIOS has a Superior Product over any cable system and I would hate to see you leave over something that was out of their control.
By the way, looking at the picture of the rear connections for your Panasonic you would want to have an Optical Toslink cable go from the back of the Verizon HD Set Top Box (Optical Out) to the Optical In jack on the back of the Panasonic. This connection will provide you with Dolby Digital sound (If Broadcast by Channel) while you are watching TV. You may need to switch inputs on the Panasonic Remote to get this to work. You may also have an Optical Out jack on the TV that could be connect as well if you are using an HDMI Cable.
Your Verizon STB would be connected to the TV by either HDMI, Component, Composet, or Coax (Highest Quality to Lowest Quality). The HDMI would also provide sound to your TV so that it's internal speakers would work if desired.

MDD freezing problem can anyone help?

Ive been having quite majer problems with my mac. It crashes regularly and im not sure why. It will freeze any time even when running safari and has been known to do it 5 times in one day!!! These are the possable problems i can think of.
1. Hardware problem though i have tested all my ram with memtest and the apple hardware test Cd and it says its fine.
2. i was thinking my mac could be overheating, can this cause it to crash? At the moment its is running at 58.3 *C and all im running is safari, im not even running any widgets. The CPU fan is almost always on (though not at full speed) even when running just safari and i think the barings in the fan could be on their way out because it doesnt sound like the fan is running smoothly at all.
Would it be worth buying a new fan and getting a copper heatsink to bring the temperature down? Im not sure if i should do this in case it doesnt work as it well set me back over £100, if there is no way of finding and fixing the problem i was thinking of getting a macpro though as im a student it will take me about a year to get my hands on that kind of cash

OSX 10.4.8 (im running this beacuse 10.4.9 is incompatable with final cut HD 3.0)
GForce 4MX
1X 80GB PATA
1X 200GB PATA
ASUS DVD R (put in a week ago though there were problems with crashing before this)
Can anyone give me some advice on what to do?

Assuming you are reading that CPU temperature with Temperature Monitor software, the specified upper limit for your CPU is 62 degrees C. Therefore, 58.3 degrees shouldn't be causing your freeze problems. Look for other possibilities.
Not that this is your problem, but a friend's upgraded Sawtooth G4 started having freeze problems in Tiger after running several months without any problems. Turns out he had his old DVD-ROM in a Firewire box connected via Firewire to his G4 and the unit started crapping out. Still not sure if the core problem is the DVD-ROM drive or the Firewire case or the Firewire connection, but disconnecting the unit ended his suddenly arising freeze problems.
Try using your MDD G4 with all Firewire and USB (except the keyboard and mouse of course) stuff disconnected from the tower case. If that ends your freezes, it will be a simple process of elimination to find the offending USB or Firewire item.

Updating from 9.2 - 9.2.2 my iMac freezes. Can anyone help?

I have an iMac that's a few years old, and it's been in my buddy's basement for the last 2 years, and he was moving so he gave it to me and I booted it up and hit software update and it said it would update to 9.2.2. I hit okay and it proceeded to download for about 5 minutes and then it said "Preparing Disk..." so I waited and all of a sudden it stopped. Everything froze but my cursor. I thought maybe it was just thinking and it needed a moment. But after 10 minutes I noticed that it hadn't moved and the clock hadn't changed. So I force restarted and tried yet again, same thing. So I force restarted again and this time I didn't go ahead I just tried launching a program, iTunes I think it was, and it just froze again, about 10 seconds after booting.
I was wondering if anyone out there could help me, thanks.

Welcome to Apple's Discussions.
The first step in going to OSX is to make sure that the firmware on the iMac is current, in accordance with this Apple Kbase article (from which you can download any firmware update needed) -

Next, make sure you have sufficient RAM in the machine. The requirements for OSX 10.3 specify a minimum of 128MB or RAM. That is a bit low; a more realistic minimum is 256MB, more is better.
Next, be sure you have enough space on the drive. The installation of OSX will need 2 to 3 GB; OSX runs best when there is at least 5GB of free space on the drive. This means having 7 to 8GB of free space before installing OSX.
To do the actual install, you will need to purchase the retail package for OSX 10.3 (Panther). Then boot to the CD and run the installer.
OSX will be installed alongside OS 9; it will not replace OS 9. OS 9 can then still be used as a boot OS, as well as being available for use as Classic.

My iMac has a bizarre freezing problem---can anyone help?

Frequently these days, my machine will freeze---
---the mouse and cursor won't work.
---the keyboard won't respond.
However, during these freezes, iTunes will still play, and my screensaver/wallpaper will eventually kick in, so at least some part of the computer works.
When I hit the restart switch, the machine will go all the way through startup, to the login screen, but most of the time, the mouse/cursor will still be frozen, and I will not be able to login using the keyboard.
Usually I will have to hit the switch again, and the same thing will happen. Frozen cursor, nonresponsive keyboard at login screen.
The only time I seem to get a full restart, with everything working, is when I hit the switch a third time, or else leave the machine shut down for a few minutes and then restart. I have no idea why this is the case
My HD has about 2 GB of space available out of the 38 or so, and I have not received any disk space warnings, so I don't think that's the cause.
Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Since everything else appears to function normally during these "freezes" I'm led to believe that the problem is related to either your USB ports, or your USB keyboard/mouse. The first thing you can try is connecting the devices to different USB ports. Secondly, are you using the included Apple keyboard and mouse, or third party devices? If you're using third party devices, I'd suggest turning the computer off, and connecting your Apple devices, then continuing to use the computer as normal. If the mouse/keyboard continue to freeze, it sounds as though the USB ports may not be working correctly. But, let us know what happens after trying these suggestions.

Chez moi, il y en a une kyrielle en dehors des dossiers standards parce que je renomme wxcvb.template quasiment tous mes documents Pages et wxcvb.nmbtemplate à peu près tous mes documents Numbers.
Ainsi, quand je travaille sur un document, je ne suis pas ralenti par Autosave.

TS1702 I have been using "Numbers" on my ipad 2 for about 2 years. Today it kicked me out a few times and now won't let me in at all! I have tried restarting the application but don't want to uninstall it as 2 years of data on there! Can anyone help?

I have simply been backing up to iTunes using the sync function.
My most recent backup using that method was a bit too old. To get a more recent backup of my data, I decided to do another sync backup before uninstalling Numbers from my system. (I did have the sense to copy the previous iTunes backup to another file folder on my PC before making that last sync - just in case I need it.)
Is there some way to extract Numbers spreadsheets from the iTunes sync backup? I haven't found any way to access these spreadsheet except by using Numbers. Since Numbers isn't working, I seem to be stuck. I did find some software that extracts a variety of data from iTunes backups but it doesn't extract Numbers data.

I think you identified my mistake. I confused tables-charts-graphs. I was wanting a "table" of cells (numbers) to be added to the Pages document. Is there no way to do that and keep the tables linked between Numbers09 and Pages09?
An example would be a Numbers spreadsheet calculating a number (say, a product price) and that number (data) be linked to a product information text in Pages.
I just recently saw the Merge function in Pages, but have not yet learned how that works. I don't use Pages much at all but it would come in handy for creating to information sheets about products --- with the product pricing being updated from a Numbers spreadsheet.
If you have any hints on how that can be done or where I can find info on that I would appreciate it.

Try a Safe Boot: Restart holding down the shift key until you (hopefully) see a grey progress bar. Once booted restart as normal from the Apple menu. Any change?

Your hard disk is failing and requires replacement. Replacement is not terribly expensive and can be performed by someone sufficiently adept with computer repair. If that's not you, an Apple Store can perform the replacement.
Back up your data ASAP.
