"Numbers stored as text" error in Excel when I schedule a report

Dear all,
When I schedule a report, I got a "Numbers stored as text" error in Excel.
But when I save as xls directly from webI, I have no error in the excel sheet.
So, is it a bug ? I have the BO XI 4.0 version.
Or is there a special option to set concerning schedule ?

Hi,
First check the object data type in webi. Normally this error will come when object/variable data type is Text in the report.
If you are getting this error with object data type number then add 0 in the object and see.
Like =[Object] + 0
It will force the value to be converted in the number.

Im running BOE XI3.1 SP2 and I get that error when re-scheduling a report in WebI. We have just recently patched the system to SP2.
Any idea what this error relates to?

Sorry first part of this thread was removed.
The problem description is as follow:
On BOE XI 3.1 SP2, when re-scheduling a BO report which sends an Excel attachment to an email destination, users receive the error "An error has occurred: $Proxy4".
It seems to be hit and miss but is more consistent when sending to multiple (comma-separated) recipients in the 'TO' field. I also noticed that if you select CACHING then a "$Proxy5" type error is returned.
I understand that this bug was supposed to be fixed in XI3.1 SP2 but I'm already running SP2.
Anyone seen this?

Error has occurred when running internal order report. Last month also used this report without any error.
Error #01: [ASE Error SQL422]Too many nested expressions or logical operators to compile. Try splitting query or limiting ANDs and ORs.
Error #02: SQL Error: 422
Error #03: An error occurred while reading the data; Navigation is possible.
Please guide me to solve this issue.

Please just say how you removed the CC version and did you remove the Preferences from Hidden User>Library??

Hi All,
I got the answer and it worked for me:-
1. If the BI Scheduler cannot ping the mail server specified in the scheduler configuration, check the correct server is specified. If it is, check that it is up and running.
2. If the user name and password are specified in the scheduler configuration, log in to Enterprise Manager and navigate to:
Weblogic Domain
Right click on bifoundation_domain > Security > Credentials
Expand oracle.bi.enterprise
Highlight mail.server and delete the user name and password..

Error using Excel as a DataSource for Report Builder 3.0 - ODBC connection

I'm getting this error message below while trying to use excel as a datasource within Report Builder 3.0. I can see the columns and rows but unable to display/run the report. Using Excel 32 bit and have the driver and user dsn created under c:/windows/syswow64/odbcad32.

I have commercial experience in migrating Crystal Reports to SSRS. When performing any type of migration it is always wise for the business requirements to be revisited. It is likely that the business requirements may have changed since the Crystal reports
were initially developed, etc.

HTTP Error: 401 unauthorized when executing a costcenter report.

Hi.
I get this HTTP error when executing an costcenter report.
The steps I do is following.
Call upp the report Y_D02_77000xxx
Under the "kostenstellen:Selection I Fill in this values.
Controlling area
Fiscal Year
From Period
To Period
Plan version
and finally i enter the "Cost Center group"
Then i press "execute" and get the result for differrent Cost Element, i get 2 lines "*Total" and
"**Over/underabsorption"
Now i doubleclick Over/underabsorption and select report "Cost Centers: Actual Line Items"
Now i Should get a new window woth results but instead i get a blank screen with the errormessage:
"HTTP error: 401 unauthorized"
This procedure worked fine until a couple of weeks ago.
Anyone have any ideas about what could be the problem?

You might want to check all of your connections in SM59. When you get the 401 error, this is sometimes due to a connection failure (bad password and so on) in the RFC connections (this can also happen if you are using the Content Manager).

Error message on trying to Schedule a report

Hi,
I'm in a world of pain at the moment with my CMC. I can't schedule a report to even distribute them to a BO inbox.
Setup : BOXI 3.1 on RH linux Ent 5.0 with data server being on a remote machine.
The error I receive is
A database error occured. The database error text is: [unixODBC][Driver Manager]Data source name not found, and no default driver specified. (WIS 10901)
Where do I define my default driver? in odbc.ini in the bobje folder?
Are the unixODBC and associated MySQL connectors needed for BOXI 3.1? I've only found a BO doco related to R2. This doco only relates to the BOE115_AUDIT data.

There isn't a designer version, do you mean developer? And what version of Crystal?
If they upgraded you to the standard edition, then you've lost plenty of functionality.
Also if they upgraded you to developer from professional, yet didn't bring the service packs up to date, but did on the previous version, then it will have problems as well.
Please include valid information in your next post, and the version of Crystal if the above doesn't resolve.

Sorting numbers stored as text

Business1 stores ItemCode as an alphanumeric, which makes sense. But we only ever use numbers, so when I try to sort a report by ItemCode, or select a range by ItemCode I get things like this:
4100
41001
4101
4102
42001
42003
42004
4201
Can I get CR to treat these as numbers, and sort/select them as numbers?

    try to use any one formula given below , and try to short on this formula field
       1] right("00000000" & ,10)
                           or
       2] toNumber()
You can suppress this field,so it will not be visible to the user

Memory errors in ST22 when trying to run report

Hi all,
Connection details: BW query using the MDX driver method.
My report starts getting timeouts when I reach a certain number of attributes. Only one field is a navigation attribute but I get the error even if I totaly exclude that field from my report.
I have enabled the 'Use selection of structure elements' tick in RSRT | Query Properties.
Using MDXTEST I get a dump telling me that I was trying to return 27 million records but I know my cube has only 1745 records in it.
When I use the old driver (SAP BW Query) and build a report with ALL my attributes I don't get an error at all but it's not recommended to use this driver anymore.
PS We have applied the corrections given in OSS Note 1554272.
More details fromthe ST22 dump:
Short text
No more storage space available for extending an internal table.
Error analysis
The internal table "\DATA=N_TH_DAT_N"
     could not be further extended. To enable
    error handling, the table had to be delete before this log was written.
    As a result, the table is displayed further down or, if you branch to
    the ABAP Debugger, with 0 rows.
At the time of the termination, the following data was determined for
    the relevant internal table:
Memory location: "Session memory"
    Row width: 72
Number of rows: 27865264
    Allocated rows: 27865264
    Newly requested rows: 128 (in 1 blocks)

Ok - so it turns out that the transports from the Integration Kit wasn't installed on the BO Enterprise server. Once that was done I could connect 100%. Only problem is that I still can't drop down the node for the database fileds in Crystal Reports. I am at least able to create a new report using the MDX driver and then the node drop down works.

Error in WorksSpace when retrieving schedule batchs

All,
Hope I can get some help. I scheduled a batch report in WorkSpace from an essbase source. As the batch was running the Essbase server got rebooted. As a result when I try to see the items in batch scheduler I get the error NESTED EXCEPTION ; JAVA.LANG.NULLPOINTEREXCEPTION.
Is there a way to clear the log or the list of batch jobs executed? T

Can you right click the job and delete it from there? Also what is the status of those jobs? are they still showing as running?
If it is running then you might have to update the backend tables and force it to "Error" and then delete it. First see if you can delete them from front end.

"Unspecified Error" is displayed when running a webi report 10 minutes

We are in BOXI R2. I run a long running WebI report. After 10 minutes, I receive a popup that says "Unspecified Error". We have changed the CMC Webi Report Server Setting but we are still having the issue. Any help is appreciated.

Error When Refreshing a Crystal Report 2011 from BI launchpad

Hi,
I am getting this error message [CRWWEB00000119] VIEWER COULDN'T PROCESSS AN EVENT when trying to view a crystal report from BI Launchpad. I have created the report using Crystal 2011 and Published it to SAP BO BI 4.0, Verified the Database Username/password for the report and it has the correct information. Report works without issues from Crystal 2011 Designer.
When I schedule this report it fails alsowith "Error in File ~tmp1ccc6d9c2d14c50.rpt: Failed to load database information" message.Checked the Oracle ODBC on the server and it is pointing to the DWH, I have created the report using Crystal 2011using oracle server connection and Oracle 11gR2 32 bit client is installed on my machine, SAP BO BI 4.0 Server has Oracle 11gR2 64 bit middleware and has the Oracle ODBC for the conenction i am using in the report.
Please let me know if anyone has faced similar issue with SAP BO BI 4.0 and can help me resolve this, below is my environment details.
Environment:
Windpows Server 2008
SAP BO BI 4.0
Crystal Reports 2011
Oracle 11gR2

Change the Locale settings when scheduling the report with an Excel format?

Hi,
My reports have been scheduled with Excel format, however, when the report is viewed in Excel, the date fields are in the format "mm/dd/yyyy" i.e. English(United States) and they need to be in the format "dd/mm/yyyy" i.e. English (Ireland).
I am wondering if there is any way to change the Locale settings within Business Objects?
For the time being users have been advised to manually change the format within excel, however, this is not the preferred option.
Any ideas?

The cell format is set as "Date dd/mm/yyyy" but it still runs as an Excel doc with the format mm/dd/yyyy.
When I schedule the report to run as a Web Intelligence document and then manually export it to Excel, the Date format is correct i.e. dd/mm/yyyy.
Any more ideas?

Error while scheduling DESKI report in infoview

I m scheduling a DESKI report to users enterprise inbox from infoview using a server group. This server group has DesktopIntelligence Job server, Destination Job server, Adaptive Job server and Program Job servers and all these servers are running.
When I schedule the report to boldusers enterprise inboxbold it get failed and shows this error message
bolddestination DLL disabled. []: [CrystalEnterprise.Smtp] bold
I m wondering what has to be enabled for scheduling a report to infoview's own inbox.

You are correct that it shows all the prompts but only when we run the report either directly from the CR Designer or via View on Demand in Infoview/CMC.
But if I try to schedule an instance of this report, I am getting a check box in the parameter section which says "Show unused parameters" to see this dyanamic prompt. And When I check that box in Infoview still I am not able to select any value for this prompt as it's greyed out.
Hope I am able to explain my query to you.
