NWBC - Actions open in a new window

Currently all actions that I have created or found (SAP delivered) open in an external window, outside of NWBC.  Is there a way to force an action to open in the same window as the NWBC client?

Both standard roles (well power lists) and custom roles/POWLs.  I am not sure about the standard roles as the folder structures were copied into a custom role.  However, one of the standard POWLs in question is CL_SLS_LIST_ALL (Sales orders).  If you run that list you will notice that the actions open a new window.  So far I have been unable to find a way to open it in the current NWBC window/session.

  • When clicking on links that open in a new window, the links don't open and Firefox freezes in a way. I can navigate the page I am on but cannot click to open a new tab or bookmark.

    When navigating the internet, if I come across a web page that has a link to open a picture or program in a new window, if I click on it, it does not open. Firefox immediately looses functionality in that I cannot open a new tab with the mouse wheel, right click to open a new tab, or use my bookmarks in either the drop down or toolbar to navigate away. I can usually still navigate the page that I am on, for example, (https://loanconsolidation.ed.gov/AppEntry/apply-online/appindex.jsp), when it freezes I cannot click on any of the content at the center of the page but I can still use the links from the list on the far left. For an example of the pictures, (http://www.insect-sale.com/), if you click on "New Arrivals" at the top of the page it takes you to a list of products that can only be viewed by clicking on them. Usually a picture of the item would open in a small window but it does not and Firefox freezes. This has also happen when I try a view a degree audit on a school's website where a program would usually open in a new window. The only thing I have been able to find that still functions properly when this happens is the home page button. I can click on it or use the wheel to open it in a tab just fine, but if I try and go anywhere else I cannot. The only way I can get Firefox back to normal is to use the Task Manager and end the process. Another thing I have noticed, that may or may not be related; is that my Norton Internet Security toolbar, that should show up below the bookmarks toolbar and above the tabs, only shows up about 1 out of every 10 times I open Firefox. Some days it doesn't show up at all. If it does show up and I log into Identity Safe, the autofill for the programed website works, even if the toolbar doesn't show up the next time I open Firefox.

    Go to Tools->Options->Apps
    Here you should see two columns: Content Type on the left, Actions on the right.
    Find and select excel spreadsheet or any other content type in the left column. There should be a corresponding action in the right column. What is it? You can use the drop-down list to select the option you want:
    Always Ask - Firefox will ask each time: What do you want to do with this file?
    Save file - Firefox will save this file to your computer
    Use - Firefox will give this file to the program to open it
    In case of saving, Firefox will either prompt you every time where you want the file to be saved, or save it to the default location. It depends on the preference in

  • How to open page in new window while handling event on link.

    Hi all
    I have a requirement where page should be opened in new window when I click on link.My item style is 'link'.Despite of mentioning target frame _blank, I m not able to open it in new window.I m handling event by setting Action Type as fireAction.I hope this might be the reason because of that this happened. Can somebody suggest some solution so that I can open it in new window.
    Thanks,
    Bhupendra

    Hi ,
    though i am not able to answer, i can get some answer for my question.
    How the link item is handled thru the ActionType and event in the Client Action..?
    The reason for this question is that we are trying to extend the customer search page in AR - EBSR12. there the search result page has the Account Name as a link and the Action event says viewAccountName and the action type says firePartialAction. I am trying to understand this so that i can add more parameters to the link so that i can use them in the target page of the link..
    Any help is appreciated..

  • When I click on any Bookmark, how do I set it to open in a new window by default?

    Right clicking an icon in the Bookmarks Toolbar provides a drop down menu. That menu has "Open" as the Default and "Open in a New Window" as the second choice. I'd like to make "Open in a New Window" the Default. In other words, I'd like to be able to click on a Bookmark icon and open a new window. Is there a line in 'about:config' that I can change to accomplish this?

  • When I click on a link within a website to open a document (word, excel etc.), Firefox doesn't open it. Even when I tell it to open in a new window, it just opens a blank tab labeled "untitled."

    When I try to click on a link to a document within a website, that document doesn't open like it should. For instance, if I go to the census website and click on a link to open an excel spreadsheet, Firefox doesn't do it. It usually does nothing; if I tell it to open in a new window or tab, it just opens a tab labeled "untitled" that ends up being a blank page.

  • JSF app - open report in new Window - via JSP?

    I have been reading through this forum but no one has done quite what I am trying so I thought I'd post my own version of this problem.
    The web app I'm working on is basically a report generator. Data is formatted via XSLT to .html files - that part works great. The problem is getting the app to open this new HTML file in a new window. I want to get this working with little or no JavaScript.
    startReport.jsp (a JSF file) is the form that validates the user input. The sole h:commandButton (I do NOT want a link) works fine sending the form and JSF returns its errors or mine (if the criteria results in nothing) as it should; the action method returns "failure" so the page stays the same.
    But when the action method returns "success" the JSF navigation-rule is setup to route to showReportFile.jsp (which is NOT a JSF file). This JSP is very simple:
    <%@ page import="java.io.File" %>
    <%@ page import="java.io.PrintWriter" %>
    <%@ page import="java.io.FileReader" %>
    <%@ page import="com.logipath.gict.cts.reporting.client.ReportClient" %>
    <%@ page language="java" contentType="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1" pageEncoding="ISO-8859-1" %>
    <jsp:useBean id="reportClient" scope="session" class="com.logipath.gict.cts.reporting.client.ReportClient" />
    <%
    String fileName = reportClient.getReportOutputFile();
    PrintWriter writer = response.getWriter();
    char[] buffer = new char[1024];
    FileReader reader = new FileReader(fileName);
    int numRead = reader.read(buffer, 0, buffer.length);
    while ( numRead != -1 ) {
         writer.write(buffer, 0, numRead);
         numRead = reader.read(buffer, 0, buffer.length);
    reader.close();
    writer.close();
    File file = new File(fileName);
    file.delete();
    %>This works believe it or not. If I put the target="_blank" on the form tag in the startReport.jsp it even opens in a new window. Great. But with that attribute on the form element, if the page comes back in error - it shows up in a new window (as it is apt to do given the attiribute).
    Ok, the h:commandButton tag's target attribute is ignored. Fine. There has to be a way to do this but I just cannot figure it out and I'm no JSP expert.
    What I think will work is this. Since my report beans create HTML files, I've created a session bean called "currentReportBean" which holds a single attribute - the name of the HTML file to display. (This is how the JSP above works.)
    What I need to know now *(this is the question part)* is how can I flush the render response of my JSF life cycle, trigger the opening of this JSP in a new window, the restart the JSF life cycle at the begining so the "parent" page repaints normally? The JSP isn't part of the JSF page flow so I there's no "going back" or "refresh" to worry about. I would like to take the showReportFile.jsp file out of the navigation files altogether.
    I know this topic has been worked on at length, but not quite this way. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    arnieAustin wrote:
    No, the JSP resets the bean value after showing the file.My mistake; it wasn't the reload scenario that is an issue. It is when the user goes back and forth in history that this can be a problem.
    >
    But now I'm confused. JS cannot access server-based session values. How is it going to know to open the page? A cookie?Write the value to a JS variable when you render the page.

  • Open Page in new window

    ..................... I use JDeveloper 11g TP4 ......................
    How Can I Open Page In New Window when I press In Command button or link??
    Thank You.

    Hi,
    You have to set the "useWindow" property on the button to "true", and the action must start with "dialog:", like "dialog:action". And, in adfc-config.xml you have to have navigation defined also with "dialog:action".
    <af:commandButton text="Button"
             action="dialog:action"
             useWindow="true">
    {code}
    Pedja

  • Open page in new window when click on HELP TAB

    Hi
    I have a number of tabs which work on my pages. My very last Tab is a Help Tab.
    What I'm trying to achieve is that when a person clicks on the Help tab, the page should open in a new window.
    The rest of the tabs should function normally, ie just switch pages in the same window.

  • Opening document in new window

    I've added a button to the online help toolbar in the Skin
    Editor and created a link to the manual in the Action Tab. I
    compiled the help and when I select the button, the document comes
    up in the topic pane window in the online help. I want the document
    to open in a new window with the appropriate application (Word for
    .doc, Adobe Reader for .PDF, etc.). I think this requires some
    javascript but not sure. How would I go about doing this?
    Thanks in advance for your time.
    Bill

    Hi Bill
    I believe that how these documents open are dependent upon
    the settings for each PC viewing the page. For .PDF content, each
    user has the ability to configure the settings for their PDF reader
    to choose between whether PDF files open in the browser or in the
    PDF reader. Additionally, browser add ins may have a role too. For
    example, I use FireFox as my primary browser. I have an add in for
    FireFox that allows me to choose what happens when I click a link
    that opens a PDF. The add in prompts me for my desired action.
    I believe Word is similar, but I'm not sure where you would
    go to change the behavior of how it opens. But I do believe there
    is a setting on each Windows install that governs how Word
    documents are handled when opened from a link on a web page.
    Actually, I just conducted a Google search and here is a link
    or two that you may find interesting.
    Link regarding Word

    Hopefully this helps... Rick

  • JavaScript needed - open PDF in new window

    I'm creating an interactive PDF in InDesign CS5.
    This PDF contains a button I've made that links to another, separate, PDF file.
    This is all working fine - trouble is, when I click the button to open the second PDF file, the first PDF automatically closes.
    Is there any way to make the second PDF open in a new window, keeping the first PDF open?
    I've been told I need to add a JavaScript in Acrobat.
    Your help would be much appreciated!

    Thanks - we're definately heading in the right direction now!
    I'm not sure how to select "Open in: New Window" as specified.
    In the button properties, there doesn't seem to be this sort of option (see image below).
    Perhaps I'm looking in the wrong place?
    Also, I believe the link action is a "Open a file" type.

  • UWL - open item in new window

    Hi guys!
    If I click any UWL item I want it to be opened in new window and not in the main portal window. How to achieve this?
    Thanx for answer! Olian

    That is possible! Please check SAP documentation regarding UWL configuration - you can download it from service.sap.
    In the UWL XML configuration file (webflow) you can specify that the related item should be opened in a new window:
    <Actions>
            <Action name="launchSAPAction" userDecision="no" handler="SAPTransactionLauncher" returnToDetailViewAllowed="yes" launchInNewWindow="yes" launchNewWindowFeatures="resizable=yes,scrollbars=yes,status=yes,toolbar=no,menubar=no,location=no,directories=no">
              <Properties>
                <Property name="GuiType" value="WebGUI"/>
                <Property name="newWindowFeatures" value="resizable=yes,scrollbars=yes,status=yes,toolbar=no,menubar=no,location=no,directories=no"/>
                <Property name="openInNewWindow" value="true"/>
                <Property name="display_order_priority" value="5"/>
              </Properties>
              <Descriptions default=""/>
            </Action>
          </Actions>
    Hope that helps,
