NX8500GT-MTD256EH

Hello all!
I am going to buy NX8500GT-MTD256EH graphic card and P35 Neo mobo.
What should I do to have both voice and picture via graphic card HDMI-connector?
I think that I know what to do with software, but with hardware?
Obviously I have to connect mobo SPDIF-out to graphic card SDPIF-connector, but what kind of cable I need and  from where I can get it?
Ps. I apologize my bad English, Greetings from Finland

The cable should have come with your card!  They usually supply two cable options, onw that can go from a digital RCA connector out to the vga card and one that can go from them mainboard spdif pins to the vga card.

  • Low Profile Bracket for NX8500GT-MTD256EH

    Hey guys, I have one of these:
    http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=proddesc&prod_no=1231&maincat_no=130&cat2_no=136
    And I need to buy the low-profile vga bracket so it'll fit in my slim-PC.  I've tried contacting them via email, contact submission, calling several times, but never gotten a response.  Any easier way to get one of these?  Maybe a vendor?  Thanks!

    If you would have done a search on Google you would have seen that the #1 complaint is that it doesn't come with a Low Profile Bracket... example:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductReview.aspx?Item=N82E16814127301
    A site that sells the card WITH the low profile bracket...

    A site that says you can buy the bracket from MSI (but the # doesn't work anymore...)
    http://www.pricespider.com/product-reviews/997462/MSI-NX8500GT-MTD256EH-GeForce-8500GT-HDMI-HDCP-Silent-Heatsink-Video-Card-Review-NX8500GT-MTD256EH.html
    I knew of all these things already, but was hoping that the Forum had a good way of contacting MSI (because all the methods I've tried in Post #1 didn't work)

  • NX8500GT-MTD256EH and /D2 difference?

    Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the NX8500GT-MTD256EH (which I own) and /D2 version which is now on the MSI web site?
    Thanks

    Thanks for the reply but I was asking about the two different versions of the 8500GT-MTD256EH cards.  I have purchased a 8500GT-MTD256EH about a  month ago, but I see now the model number has changed to 8500GT-MTD256EH/D2 and the previous version is not listed anywhere.
    Thanks
    Patto
    PS:  Mainboard is ASUS P5K-VM (G33 chip), with a E6550 in a HTPC
    Probably is the same then.. just with changed name, there is no other model 8500GT-MTD256EH
    Here is confirmation as well:
    NX8500GT-MTD256EH:

    Its the same VGA...

  • Nx8500gt mtd256eh spdif connection

    Hi,
    I installed my card today HDMI looks good!!
    The problem is with the audio.
    I have an Asus M2NPV-VM mobo, it has three pins on the SPDIF socket (+5v, SPDIF_OUT and GRN).
    I Connected the red lead to SPDIF_OUT and the black to GRN but didn't get any sound.
    Am I connecting the leads properly?
    Hope you can help.

    I have also tried reversing the two leads; the red is now on GRN and the black lead is on SPDIF_OUT, but still no joy.
    I don't want to experiment with the +5v as it will most likely damage my Graphic Card/Mobo.
    I have the sound routed through my HiFi at the moment so I'll persevere with that for now.
    Is there anything in the BIOS to enable, the isn't any extra playback devices in the Sound Properties Applet.
    Any clues would be appreciated.

    I am trying to use the composite out adapter off the s-video port on my NX8500GT Should I get video right from startup before I get into windows? or does it only function when I am in windows? I don't get a picture ever, not even a flicker no matter what drivers I use or if I am in or out of windows, nothing from my composite I tried forced tv out and everything. Is this right, or Do you think my card is damaged? Thanks for any help. I have none to compare it to...

    Dear Popster41,
    I found myself in the same situation you were when you posted this. Could you tell me where you found the converter you mentioned?
    I appreciate your help,

  • MSI K9A2CF-F freezes with MSI NX8400GT and NX8500GT

    Hi, all
    I've a brand new mainboard K9A2CF-F with an AMD Phenom 9500 and a NX8400GR video card. Windows is running fine but when using 3D the machine freezes, sometimes it also freezes with 2D activities. Today I changed the card for a NX8500GT-TD512Eh but I've got the same problem. When I put a Ge-force 6200 in my computer the machine runs fine but this card is pretty slow.
    Things I did, reinstalled windows, latest updates, latest nvidia driver, bios upgrade to v1.2, vga bios was allready the latest, changes psu with a heavier one.
    Now i've got the vga card in the second pcie slot and strange enough the computer is running now for almost 30 minutes. Maybe is it something with running at 16x. But what could this be that the machine crashes at 16x?

    Can it be the PSU? It's now running the whole evening in the PCIe 8x slot without any crash. Is it consuming more power when running at 16x speed bus?
    First tested PSU is an Mtek 350Watt.
    3V = 14A
    5V = 30A
    12V = 15A
    The other one is an SumVision 400W
    3.3V = 26A
    5V = 30A
    12V = 15A
    They indeed have the same 12V current of 15A.
    At the moment in the machine
    1x MSI K9A2CF with Pehnom 9500 (bios in fail safe settings)
    1x MSI NX8500GT
    1x DDR PC6400 2GB
    1x SATA2 harddrive
    1x DVD player
    1x casefan
    at last i'm running dual screens but it also freezes when running a single monitor

  • Audio on NX8500GT-TD512E

    I have a NX8500GT-TD512E video board mainly for the feature of feeding SPDIF audio to the video card which is then thru to the DVI (HDMI) port so that I only need to use 1 cable for video and audio. So, the SPDIF OUT on the M/B (or from the external connector) is connected to the Video card and it all works perfectly EXCEPT ... live or recorded TV with MPEG sound works but if the audio is DolbyDigital it doesn't. The DolbyDigital audio is there as proved when fed from the external SPDIF into my AV reciever but not thru the video card.
    Anyone have an explanation for this?

    I just won/bought on ebay the same card for $55AU (delivered) with 12 months warranty too
    It looks OK the idea but Im going to research it a bit more myself
    This one will go into my friends new SLI build and he wants to use it mainly for a HTPC setup so he will be happy
    I also just got an 8600GT 512EZ for myself so im going to have some fun with them, hopefully no (major) trouble, small hiccups are likely
    I will have to find a brother for each of them
    Man the surround sound etc setup on computers is so fussy/messy, there are so many codecs, too many dvd surround types, dolby digital/pro logic/DDII/DTS etc etc, DTS always sounds the best, I try to only buy DTS movies now, FUSSY, Im going to upgrade to a BLU RAY drive after I get my K9N DIAMOND sorted, HOPEFULLY
    I started to get right into the AUDIO/VISUAL side of computers, I have learnt stuff all about the VISUAL side, most goes over my head
    The audio side is bloody trying too, I have a new but not latest model pioneer VSX-816, 130w x 8 channel, man it goes with a 15 clarion subwoofer too, the best thearte/music sound I have heard
    Im still learning about all the audio codecs and formats etc and it can all be complicated when you get right into it, I will eventually get my head around it all
    what sort of surround and monitor/projector etc setup are you using?

  • MSI NX8500GT 256MB...need just a *bit* more power...

    I recently purchased Rome Total War to kill some time while my XBox 360 is being repaired.  The game runs flawlessly on the highest settings with one tiny exception - when I increase game speed to 3x on the tactical map, the game becomes nearly unplayable.  Even mouse and keyboard become slightly unresponsive (making it very hard to go back to normal speed).
    I have the NX8500GT-TD256E (http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=proddesc&prod_no=1198#) with core overclocked to 576Mhz, DDR2 at 512Mhz.  I have found that overclocking much higher produces terrible instability.
    Should I purchase another of these cards and go SLI?  Or would I be better off spending the $40 or so more and getting an 8600?

    Quote from: jason str on 01-April-08, 23:30:14
    Good choice.
    Better than 2 8600s in sli by far.
    Make sure your power supply has a pcie connector to power the card first though. Usually labeld but not always its a 6 pin plug.
    Yeah, it does.

  • TV-Out with MSI NX8500GT T256E

    With my MSI NX8500GT T256E the following accessories are included:
    *DVI/VGA Adapter
    *S to S TV-Out Extended Cable
    *HDTV/Video-Out Connecting Cable
    My TV does not suppoert S-video input, only monoaural Composite input.
    *Can I use these accessories to connect to my TV?
    *Is it possible to use the DVI/VGA Adapter & S to S TV-Out Extended Cable to connect to my TV? Then which pins will connect to the two pins of my TV's composite input?

     You will need to get an s-video to composit adapter. Just Google it and see what there is available, you might be able to find something at a local store such as Radio Shack, Wal-Mart, Best Buy.

  • MSI NX8500GT-TD256E Driver problems

    Hi,
    I have a PCI express MSI NX8500GT-TD256E video card in a MSI K9AGM3-F motherboard. It was working prior to having to re-install xp (but on board sound wasn't), but after reinstalling xp, when I install the video card drivers, the screen becomes unreadable, just pixelated colours!
    Without the drivers installed, just the xp vga drivers, the screen works good -32 bit full colour at 1024 - 768, but as soon as I install the Drivers - unviewable! I have downloaded the latest drivers from the MSI web site and I have even tried different drivers with same result, soon as I reboot - crap!
    The video is ok without drivers installed, so I take it he card is working ok, Power supply 450W, and 18A at 12V, so that's ok,
    but without the drivers installed can't use duel screen, new games etc. and sys info says video adapter not installed. (After reinstalling sound drivers sound working good.)
    It is verry frustrating. Any suggestions??
    Just a follow up. I unistalled driver, ran Driver Sweeper then NFR just to make sure I uninstalled driver, then installed driver version 1819. Still same result. If I press F8 and boot in VGA mode, I can see all the info on Video card, and the NVIDIA tabs are in display settings, but if I change the resolution the same results - unviewable screen with block colours like the old CGA colours.   With no driver installed I can get 1280 by 1024 full colour 32 bits.
    Anyone with any Ideas, please help.

    It looks like drivers mess.
    Do a >>Clear CMOS Guide<< {With power cord removed}
    I suggest you again new fresh install, then install chipset drivers http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=driverfile&dno=2427&i=0
    Followed by VGA Drivers ==> http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_175.16_whql.html
    If no change test VGA in another machine

  • Need GeForce Forceware driver to overclock NX8500GT

    I have downloaded the latest Forceware driver from nVidia 163.71.  I'm trying to overclock the card but it resets to factory defaults every time the computer is booted.
    After a couple of hours of searching, I found several sources that say that the 16x.xx will not allow overclocking.
    I need to know the best drivers to download in light of this.

    Quote from: htismaqe on 11-October-07, 10:19:35
    I uninstalled all nVidia drivers and installed the latest drivers from MSI's website (162.18).
    RivaTuner now works, I have my vidcard overclocked quite a bit, and everything seems to be fine.  Hopefully the nv4 infinite loop problem is also gone.
    "Hopefully the nv4 infinite loop problem is also gone."
    If problem comes, return VGA to stock parameters and re-test, if its fine. Then seems you are OC VGA too much, start diging again.

    No error beep nothing.
    Tried other PS same problem.

    Tried again without ram - samething

    Tried again with everything but this time changed the CPU to a Core2 E6850 - samething
    All the above procedure was again tried with a MSI NX8500GT GPU
    Once again tried everything with a different 500W PS - Still nothing happend.
    By mistake I forgot to connect the CPU and GPU power connector. Now the board lights all led's but still its not alive.
    Connected the CPU power again. And the board was dead as before.
    Tried the same with only the GPU power connected, and again dead.
    Moved CPU GPU and RAM to my P35 Platinum and after reset it came to life.
    Why can't get the P45D3 to start up. Everything works but that Mainboard.
    Something I'm missing, or do I have a dead board??????

    First off, when I boot up the computer with both monitors, I get no display, after unplugging both monitors and reattaching only the primary monitor, I can get a display after Windows boots up. Once windows is up and running when I attempt to setup a dual monitor, the primary screen gets scrambled and is unusable, and the other does not do anything. I hope this can be fixed with software, as I do not want to go through an RMA process. Any help would be appreciated. Let me know if more information is necessary.

    At first I was using whatever came with the card. I have tried it using the latest drivers that nVidia offers.
