O make the In system preferences under Sound, there is no drop-down menu for "Use audio port for." How do I switch the port to input?

I'm trying to use the audio input/output port to record in Garageband. When I plug in my guitar it isn't recognized, and when I go to sound prefrences it does not give me the option to switch between input and output. How do I switch it to input?

In the new iTunes version 11.0.0.163 I tried to delete a free app but it still shows after I deleted it from all my Apple devices. Look, I understand I still need a card attached to the account. The problem is, it won't accept my card because I only have 87 cents in my bank account right now.
If I had known there would be so much trouble with the iTunes card, I would have just put the cash in my bank account in the morning instead of buying an iTunes card (I didn't expect the banks to be open on Thanksgiving of course).
Apple will only accept cards that have a balance. The balance is so small in my account that it won't accept it as a valid card.
I'm going to have to contact Apple anyway to reset the security questions. That's obvious. Your answers were not exactly helpful. You didn't tell me anything I don't already know, but thanks for trying to be helpful.

Hi, I am trying to sync my sons ipod so he can upgrade his ipod without losing all his games but for some reason we keep getting the message that my laptop ( windows 7 ) is not authorized. In Itunes, under 'STORE' there is no option or drop down menu with the option to authorise this computer. Just want to get on with up dating his ipod. Anyone any advice ? How do I set Firefox 29 to always show the bookmarks sidebar with one click instead of a drop down menu?

I've decided to just get used to Firefox 29 instead of messing with add-ons and what not to make it look like it used to but one thing that is too ingrained is a favorites/bookmarks sidebar with one click. I just don't like the drop down menu. Is there a way to set the "Bookmarks" button to show the sidebar in one click?

I want the bookmarks sidebar button. This should be a BASIC feature available, not something I need to install an add-on for to revert to some "classic restore". Why is something so straightforward and easy to use considered "classic", and everything has to be hidden and hard to see in this new version? All the colours in the new tabs BTW are are BLUE, and they blend in with the background at the top, you can't see the tab edges - whose bright idea is this?

The BBC is a drop-down menu item on my bookmarks toolbar. About 20% of the time, when I click on a news story, I get the link that's underneath, not the one on the drop-down menu. What the?

I don't understand why Firefox would take me to a link UNDERNEATH the link I clicked on in the drop-down menu. Items in the drop-down menu are supposed to be clickable. I'm tired of clicking on a BBC news story link only to be sent to the beanie babies page of Amazon.com.

Mobile drop down menu won't disappear once I have clicked one of the links in the drop down to take me to an anchor further down the page. I want the drop down to disappear upon clicking and scroll at the same time.

Basically I have a drop down menu, which i have tried to create numerous times with different widgets available in muse or as freebies on the net.
The menu within the drop down is a manual menu and each button links to an anchor on the page, so that when clicked the page scrolls to that anchor.
My problems is that once I have clicked one of the links to go to the anchor further down the page the drop down remains. For the purpose of User Experience and fluidity across the mobile design i would like the drop down to disappear on click of the anchor link. Is this possible?

The "awesome bar" is not working. There is no drop-down no matter what I do. If I click on the arrow or just start typing, nothing happens. ???

I have window 7 about 2 weeks ago I was having trouble accessing drop down window. I could click on the arrow and it was flickering and then would go away. It happened with every website I went to. I changed the battery in my mouse and then it started to work. This morning it is doing the very same thing so I changed the battery thinking this would work. It still isn't working

How do I get the Spell Check to work. There is no drop down tab for spell checking in the edit tab.

I do not have Spell Checking tab in my Edit tab. Firefox will underline a misspelled word but I can not access the spell check.

I tried doing the following: When spell-checking is enabled, you can easily correct misspelled words. To correct the misspelled word, right-clickhold down the Ctrl key while you click on it and select one of the suggested words at the top of the menu.

I've filled everything out in the change settings page but still can't figure out how to get my choices to show up. I see it now. Thank you, Phillip. I read the help page before, but I think it would help if that page pointed out that the options you have selected will appear at the bottom of the list of suggestions after you type a search in the box. Also that would have been clearer if I did not select give suggestions. The key point for my understanding was that I had to type a search first in order to get the options to appear, which is the opposite of how it worked before. Definitely fix that help page to make that part clear. And thanks again, so much.
