OAB/OSB Oracle Advanced/Standard Benefits Enrolling Issue manually.

Hello Everyone - The issue I am about to list below maybe peculiar in ERP nature and I think it will get lot of Benefits Guru thinking as it has got me(tho I am no Benefits Guru).
First, lets get basic nuts and bolts in place about the environment,
1. We are using Oracle 11i for just HR with functionality of payroll and benefits as suitable to client.
2. Payroll is outsourced, maintaining benefits is outsourced.
3. Deciding if it is OSB or OAB is bit tricky here, as parts of both are used.
4. Only one Life Event - 'UnRestricted' is used.
5. Benefit Programs, Plans, Options are built just as it is in outsourced Benefits Portal.
6. Activity Rate is built and attached to Payroll Elements. This maintains the correct information for employee benefits and this information is pushed to outsourced Payroll for deductions.
7. Open Enrollements were done in NOV.11 FOR THE year-2012.
8. No Benefits or Payroll concurrent processes are executed in Oracle.
9. New enrollments and changes to current enrollments are done via Benefits Service Center-->Non-Flex Program form.
Now that we have established the ground, lets detail out the issue,
10.A new plan is created for LTD as of Jan.01,2012. This plan falls in a Plan Type. We just have one single Benefit Program. Variable Rate Profile and Standard Rates for LTD plan started as of Jan.01,2012.
11. Eligibility Profile is created for this plan based on only Age band, e.g., 1-20..21-29...etc.
12. Variable Rate Profile is built as per the age band and attached with above Eligibility Profile. Details of important information for Variable Rate profile is as the following,
- Employee Payroll Contribution
- Aftertax
-Monthly
- Multiply By
- Rates
Calculation Method - Multiple of Compensation
Multiplier - .07
Operator - PER hUNDRED
Comp. Factor - Monthly Salary
Rounding COde - Round to Nearest Hundreth
13. Standard rate details are as below,
- Calculation Method - Flat Amount
- Enter Value At Enrollment is selected.
Values for Min,Max,Increment,Default is enter
No other information on any other form is enter.
Lets come to the issue now, please keep in mind that Non Flex Program form is used via Benefits Service Center to execute below situations,
============================================================================================================
Situation 1-
Client wanted to put employees on this plan from Jan.01,2012 BUT is not able to because the pay period start date for Jan.01,2012 falls on Dec.19,2011. As plan is created on Jan.01,2012 so it is not allowing to enroll employees on Jan.01 so instead they are enrolled as of Jan.02,2012(pay period start date for second period 2012).
Questions 1-
Is it ok to start them on Jan.02,2012? Does that mean employees are not covered for one day? Is it possible to change the start date of the plan, variable profile and standard rate before or on Dec.19,2011? OR can we force to enroll employees from Jan.01,2012?
===========================================================================================================
Situation 2 -
New employees are created after January 2012 and and benefits administrator tries to enroll them on the plan. Employee start date falls in middle of the pay period start and end date hence while enrolling a system error pops up that employee assignment is not active as of the pay period start date. This is true so as a workaround, these employees are enrolled on the plan from the next pay period from the date of joining.
Question 2 -
Is this expected functionality in benefits? IF it is then is there a way to enroll employees on the benefit plan as of the joining date, without worrying about the pay period start date?
===============================================================================================================
Situation 3 -
Different behavior on non flex program form for just one employee who has been with the company for 2 years on full-time basis. When tried to enroll this employee on the LTD plan, a pop-up window appears with all rate options setup as per the variable rate profile. If a rate is selected from this list than it defaults the amount in the Defined section of Amount Tab. While for everyone else, when enrolling them on the Plan, no pop-up window appears and the benefits administrator can enter the Amount in Defined section.
Question 3 -
Is this an expected functionality? Can someone please shed some light on why this is happening and how to fix it?
=============================================================================================================
Thats all I have for now and I really need advice on the 3 situations above. I have hit the road block and not sure how to proceed.
Looking forward to the post replies.
Thanks in Advance.

- This depends on your business case. Product feature wise, all are possible options. Some easier than others. You can control when the coverage starts and when the employee starts paying in separate codes. So, one can be different from the other.
===========================================================================================================
Situation 2 -
New employees are created after January 2012 and and benefits administrator tries to enroll them on the plan. Question 2 -
Is this expected functionality in benefits? IF it is then is there a way to enroll employees on the benefit plan as of the joining date, without worrying about the pay period start date?
- The only requirement in OAB is that the person should be available as of the life event occured date. Of course in case of a new hire, you cannot write any data before the start date of the person. this needs to be handled via correct configuration. If you want the employees to get enrolled from the next pay period, chose appropriate rate and coverage start date codes.===============================================================================================================
Situation 3 -

  • Oracle Advance Compression Deletion Performance issue in 11g R1

    Hi,
We have implemented OAC in our datawarehouse environment to enable table and index compression. We tested in our Test machine and we gained almost 600GB due to advance compression without any issues and all the informatica loads are running fine. And hence we implemented the same in our production but unfortunately two sessions which are involving deletion of data are taking more time (3 times of actual timing) for completion which affects our production environment.
The tables creating issue are all non partitioned tables.
I need to know whether Oracle Advance Compression will decrease delete performance? and is there any way to disable advance compression on those particular tables?
    Our environment details:
    DB earlier version: 11.1.0.6
DB current version : Oracle 11.1.0.7
    Applied PSU: 11.1.0.7.6
    Operating system: Solaris 5.9
    Syntax used for compression:
    ALTER TABLE TABLE_NAME MOVE COMPRESS FOR ALL OPERATIONS;
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
    Thanks for your reply.
The note is for update performance issue and also I have applied necessary patches for improving update performance.
The update sessions are all working fine. only the deletion sessions are creating problem.
Could someone help me out to clear this problem.
    Thanks,

  • Oracle Advanced Benefits

    Hi Ppl,
I have a query with regards to Oracle Advanced Benefits...
Ours is a development product. And we need to start the Benefits module from the scratch(from set up)... No one is from US background here... Please update the Navigation in EBS Set up for Benefits module. Don know whether the navigation is from HRMS manager or Self Service
So, could anybody tell us how should Benefits module be configured and set up? What API needs to be run from PL/SQL wrapper to get the Benefits updations of an US employee?
           Any help is highly appreciated....
           Thanks in advance.........

    please see
    Benefits Enrollment Conversion [ID 365034.1]
382747.1 - How does one use API in Oracle Standard Benefits ?
For uploading benefits you need to run a life event and then enrollments (actual benefits).
For standard benefits use unrestricted life event
and for advanced benefits use appropriate life event
    1. Process Life Event: ben_on_line_lf_evt.p_manage_life_events_w
    2. Enrollments: ben_election_information.election_information_w api
    3. After uploading all benefits for an employee execute ben_proc_common_enrt_rslt.process_post_enrt_calls_w api for post process.

We are doing integration for Oracle Advance Queue with OSB.
I created an AQ adapter in Jdev and generate the WSDL and XSD.
I imported both WSDL and XSD in OSB Project.
When i am configuring the business service and selecting the WSDl i am not able to select Binding and ports, is it due to any issue in WSDL?
    Please help.

    Hi again,
I made some adjustments to your wsdl. I added the binding part and its reference to the appropriate port.

  • ESS Benefits open enrollment - Issue

    Hi,
When we click on the benefits open enrollment link, we do not want some of the plans to be displayed to the ess user. Is there any way to control it ( SPRO or BAdI ).
    Env - EP 7.0, ECC6.0
    Thanks,
    Ravi

I posed the same question to an ESS consultant who responded with the following:
"The plans presented in benefits enrollment (PZ14) and Participation Overview (PZ07) are list output from ABAP.  You can go into the program and select or exclude some of them based on certain criteria.  I've seen customers extend the Plan infotype to add a flag field to make it configurable to show, not show a given plan."
Since specific instructions weren't given, I wouldn't consider the issue answered.
However, I can provide the following work around:
Due to the fact that different populations have different open enrollment period timeframes, and all populations have been configured under one benefit area...we decided to create an "Open Enrollment Adjustment Reason" for each group instead.  Thus, the Adjustment Reason permissions will only display the plans we want the employee to see via ESS.  Prior to the open enrollment period for the population, we will run the Mass Adjustment Reason report to create IT378 for all relevant employees.  The OE offer will appear as another Adjustment Reason under the Enrollment service in ESS.

  • Regd:Benefits Open Enrollment Issue

    Hi SAP,
I have problem in Open Enrollment which is in ESS.
We have used the Portal Navigation for designing the Navigation instead of Homepage Framework.
When we were using Homepage frame work the open Enrollment works fine(ie) it will be highlighted when the period is opened and it will be glared when the period is closed.
But now after changing the navigation design it is working fine when the period is open but its not getting blared or disabled when it is closed instead it gives me the error.
I need to make it disable when the period is closed.
Is there any configuration that I have to do.
Please put me some light on it.
    Its very urgent.

  • Oracle 11g Standard Edition + Locator Java API

We have Oracle 11g Standard which includes the Oracle Locator package, but not the Oracle Spatial.
I would like to use the Oracle® Spatial Java API in my java code, but am unsure of the licensing implications of this.
I require some form of java api in order to access the geomettry objects stored in the database. Oracle do not allow the download of the java files seperately. I was unable to find any reference to a 'Oracle Locator Java API'
Could someone let me know what exists in terms of Java API's, what i am entitled to use under the current licensing rules, and where I can download the necessary source/jar files?

Thanks for letting me know the location of the jar files, that will at least help me get things going.
I am still concerned about licensing issues, as your reply appears to contradict itself:
"There is no licensing issues if you just want to use Oracle Spatial Java API(sdoapi.jar) with your spatial data in the Oracle 11g Standard DB."
    and
"You cannot use some oracle spatial features (PL/SQL packages and their java APIs) in the standard edition."
I could use some clarification on this. I'm currently assuming that you mean I can legitimately use the spatial java API with any features I have available within the 11g Standard DB (i.e Oracle Locator subset of the Oracle Spatial package), but that I can't take that for granted, especially considering how militant Oracle are being over licensing and patents these days.

  • Oracle 10g Standard One

I want to clear out some issue abt Oracle 10g Standard One and Partitioning. On the internet I have found that one of the Oracle Enterprise Edition Features not available in Oracle Standard Edition One is:
Oracle partitioning - For database over 100 gigabytes
Can someone confirm this? Does it actually mean that there is actually PARTITIONING in Oracle10g Standard One if the database is less than 100GB ?
    thanks

I don't believe partitioning is available in the standard edition (or in Standard Edition One). The comment you refer to is likely explaining the sort of databases that might benefit from partitioning-- there aren't a lot of folks that would want to partition database tables if the database was only a few GB in size.

  • What replication methods are available in Oracle 10g Standard Edition?

    Hi All,
Our customer wants to have two identical servers at two different sites (Virginia and Utah). Server in Virginia will be the primary and the other one will be Standby. Application will run on the primary database and they would like to be able to use the Utah server (standby) in the event of a failure. The switch over can be manual or automated and does not have to be instantaneous.
I know these things can be in Enterprise Edition, but the cost is an issue here, so I was wondering what other methods are available to achieve this goal with Standard Edition database running on Windows Server 2008?
    Thank you,
    Sinan

    Spajdy,
According to the Data Guard documentation:
    Getting Started with Data Guard
"Oracle Data Guard is available only as a feature of Oracle Database Enterprise Edition. It is not available with Oracle Database Standard Edition."
Unfortunately, the cost is a concern. I would love to be able to use just the Enterprise Edition and Golden Gate or Data Guard, but it is not possible, so my manager says I have to do what I have to do with the Standard Edition.
    Thanks,
    Sinan

  • Replication Management tool in Oracle Db10g Standard Edition....

    Hi,
Where is the Replication management tool can be found in Oracle OEM10g Standard Edition...????
Is this contained only to EM java version.... in Oracle client...????
However , i have a doubt that the EM java version gives the capability for advanced replication.... whereas the standard edition supports only basic replication...Is that correct....???
If the above is true then... how to create an environment which gives the privileged user to select tables , columns to be replicated manually or using the scheduler...????
    Thanks.. a lot

  • Oracle Database Standard Edition One's Cost

    Dear all
I am very interest on the Oracle Database Standard Edition One, (US$149 per user (minimum five users)) includes the functionality and the cost (only US$ 149*5). However, I would like to know that is there any hidden cost for it? (e.g. maintaince fee etc.) Meanwhile, is there any backward compatible for the such license (i.e. I buy 10g version but use 8/8i version in production)
Anyone can has such experience and share for it?
    Thanks in advance
    Regards

There is generally a lot of confusion around Standard Editoin One. Here is my understanding, along with rationale and links supporting my understanding.
    1) Standard Edition One was NOT part of Oracle8i, and NOT part of Oracle9i release 1.
Oracle's "Oracle9i Family of products" document, released shortly after 9iR1, does not mention SE1. http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/oracle9i/pdf/o9i_family_features.pdf
    2) Standard Edition One MAY be part of Oracle9i Release 2 family, but it's not likely.
On metalink, there are a few 'forum' documents that discuss SE1 and Oracle9i. However, document #530049.994 from forum thread "Is Standard Edition One available in 9i/9ir2", dated 05-OCT-2004 says SE1 is a 10g new thing. (This post should be available in these forums.)
    3) No-one purchasing a new license should be installing a fresh copy of Oracle8i and probably not Oracle9i
You purchase the license primarily to obtain (be able to purchase) support. Oracle8i is no longer under support (except through an exorbitantly priced extended support contract) and Oracle9i is abount to be mved to extended support. The question is ... why?
    4) Personal Edition is NOT being replaced by SE1.
The Standard Edition One is a subset of Standard Edition - mainly missing RAC, so it is limited to one machine only. From the Oracle Database 10g Licensing document we note that the Personal Edition provides ALL FEATURES AND OPTIONS of the Enterprise Edition, except RAC.
It is fairly obvious from this that Personal Edition is targetted at developers who need metalink access, whereas Standard Edition One is targetted at workgroups that would consider using SQL Server STabdard/Workgroup Edition.

  • CUSTOMIZED BENEFITS ENROLLMENT FORM NOT PRINTING PROPERLY

    Hi there,
I customized the benefits enrollment form HR_BEN_ENRO and I am trying to print the form in HRBEN00CEWB but only the first page is printing and not all the plans are showing up even if th employee is enrolled in more than one plan.I dont know on what basis its getting the information and showing up.When I do a print preview of the form in SE71 the form shows up all the pages but when i goto transaction HRBEN00CEWB its not printing all the pages. Its just printing the first page even in print preview.i didnt modify the standard program.I modified the form and assignmend to the print program in the config.Any solutions??Please help
    Karthik.

May be because the Main window is placed halfway in the second and third page. If you are using a single page may be you have restricted other windows by specifying conditions "only on first page".
To rectify this you can copy the first page into second page and altering the position of the main window. Now assign the next page of first page as second and next page of second page as second page itself.
Revert back if you have doubts.

  • Oracle DB Standard One

    Hello,
Need information on the Oracle DB Standard One installation.
I have installed Oracle 10g r2 Standard verion on HP unix IA OS.
Our customer has licence for Standard One.
Please help me to clear my doubt, is Standard Edition installation is ok for
    Standard One ?
    Best Regards,
    Deep

    (See caveat at end)
There is no difference between the Standard and Standard One install. Indeed, the Standard One does not appear on the install menu.
Standard One is more of a license issue - the way I like to understand it: it is Standard with the restriction that you will not use the RAC part, and you will llimit it to 2 CPU. Read other limitations in the Licensing doc at http://tahiti.oracle.com
As always, with licensing, the only real source of information is Oracle itself. Contact your favorite Oracle Sales team for a document describing the rules and limitations. Remember that in a legal situation, a judge would not be happy with an answer "I read it on the internet" or "I heard it happened to a friend of a friend of mine"
