OATM on Oracle applicaitons 11.5.10.2

Friends -
we are in process of tablespace migration using OATM Utility.
so far i completed step 1 to step 7 from below items.
Oracle Applications Tablespace Migration Utility
Main Menu
1. Migration Sizing Reports
2. Create New Tablespaces
3. Generate Migration Commands
4. Execute Migration Commands
5. Run Migration Status Reports
6. Run Post Migration Steps
7. Run Customization Steps
At Step 7: "4. Generate script to drop empty tablespaces" >> Created a SQL Script.
My doubt is shall i execute this SQL Script before going to Step 8 and Step 8 is Mandatory or not_
Step 8 Run Migration in Batch Mode ( do we need to run this migration in batch mode after successfully completion of steps from 1 to 7 is it mandatory)
i am getting below error during step 8

My doubt is shall i execute this SQL Script before going to Step 8 and Step 8 is Mandatory or not_Step 7 is optional and if you need to run it then you have to do so before Step 8. For Step 8, please read the following:
Please note that Step 8: Run Migration in Batch Mode is an alternative step to the earlier migration steps. If you have followed OATM menu steps 1-7, you don’t need to perform step 8.
This is already mentioned in "Oracle® Applications System Administrator’s Guide - Conguration Release 11i" manual, Page 3-21

Calling web service in Oracle Applicaitons...

Can I call a web service in Oracle Appications 11.5.10?
I created a simple form on my local machine and invoked the webservice in that form and it works perfectly. I used Oracle forms 9i and 6i for this purpose and both are working perfectly.
But when I created the same form on the UNIX server and imported the Java Class and placed that form in Oracle Applications and tried to invoke the web service it is not working.
I am using Forms 6i for creating the form in Oracle Applications.
Are there any other factors that I am neglecting?
Any help is highly appreciated.

Oracle Applications have very specific rules on what you can do and not do with Forms so you need to ask this in the Applications Forums.

ADF Application Deployment in OC4J of Oracle Applicaiton Server 10g

Hi,
We have developed big ADF application with 10 different modules. We are deploying the application by creating .ear file into OC4J.
for each small fix done, we are taking entire code from CVS to Jdev and rebuilding the entire code and creating .ear file.
My question is if we copy only modified files into OC4J applicaiton directory and bounce application, will this work.
Is there any way to only deploy the modified files in to OC4J?

Thanks for the update.
I have few more clarifications.
After we complete the development and deploy the ADF application in prodcution server by creating EAR file with all the files, If we have to do modifications to only to few files for enhancements.
1) Can we copy only modified files(Ex.. Jspx,.Class files) to repective directories in the production server with out creating EAR file again? If we do so and bounce the OC4J, will this work?
2)Or do we have to create EAR file with all the files and deploy again into production server even we have changed only one file?
Just want to know process for deployment model for production support of ADF application.

Drill-down to other oracle applicaitons

I am new to HTML DB. Is there a way to drill down other other oracle application pages (with different application frameworks, ie OA Framework) from a HTML DB Report?

When you situate a link on a report line, the link is available to click on and when you do so you'll go wherever it leads. However, there is no automatic linkage between your application and other applications, whether the supporting technologies are common or disparate, beyond that which you deliberately plan for and implement, for example, in the area of authentication, session management, reciprocal awareness of application cookies, and inter-application navigation. But without doing anything special in these areas, you could provide a link to an Oracle apps page in your HTML DB report. When the link is clicked, the user might have to authenticate and when they're finished with the app, they might have to use browser window/navigation controls to continue using the HTML DB app, but that might meet your requirements.

i got the problem and it is with JINITIATOR.bcos onmy machine i alreadyyinstalled Oralce DEVELOPER 6i.and also Old Versition oF Jinitiaotor.when i run my 10g Application then It will also aks me INSTALL Jinitiator.So it is conflict with versition,
Now can you tell me how to deinstall complete jinitiator ? bcos from Installer i can not install.So please give me an idea.

How can i change the Oracle applicaiton server 10g portal home page

I have this page http://<site>/portal/page?_pageid=#,#&_dad=portal&_schema=PORTAL and i want to change the page . i can go to the edit mode and change it but i want to really change at the code level. THanks in advance

You can accomplish this via Portal. Log in as a site administrator (Portal or Portal_Admin). On the Portal Builder page, go to the Services portlet & click on the Global Settings link. Here you can set the Default Home Page from a list of pages in Portal.
If you change the default home page, this will also impact your administration accounts. I strongly recommend changing their profiles to use the Portal Builder home. Otherwise you may lock your admin accounts out from being able to make changes. You can either 1) create a group, add admins to group, & create a group profile or 2) modify the admin account's profile(s) In the main Portal Builder page, on the right you should see portlets for Portal User Profile and Portal Group Profile & they each have a Default Home Page settings. The order of precendence is Global -> Group -> User.

Oracle Application Server 10.1.3.1 installation issue

Hi,
I am trying to install Oracle Applicaiton server on linux and i have installed it on similar boxes before without any issues, however this time around after i am done with the installation, it is not showing me the enterprise console. It gives a successful installation message but with the following message.
Application Server Control Console is not running in this instance of Oracle Application Server. You can manage this instance remotely through another instance of Oracle Application Server that is configured to run Application Server Control Console.
What should I do to get the admin console. I also looking around and saw but emctl utitlity is not there in ORACLE_HOME/bin

the 10.1.3.1 version does not use emctl
if you do a opmnctl status -app you can see your applications, one of them is ascontrol
you can reach the emconsole through http://hostname:7777/em
to start you can issue opmnctl startproc application=ascontrol

How to know current form name in oracle applications 11i.

Hi all,
By clicking on Help menu-> About Oracle Applications, it will display environment variables info, and current form info, on which we r working.
I want to know from where this information is coming,
Where oracle applicaitons will store this information.
Is there any database table which regularly updates the current form info.
Or is there any log which contains info about current form name.

Printing barcodes through oracle applications

Dear Schavali and all others,
We are analyzing to setup a barcode printing through Oracle applications. I have seen your thread in this forums but now i cant find it. But please i need a clarification from you.
To print bar codes from Oracle applicaitons
if we go for
1). Printing using third party tool and print server, what all do we need to buy. (Like if i have 20 branches do i need to purchase 20 printers or do i add the normal printers to the print server)
2). If i go for XML enabled printers to print Directly the barcodes, only one user can print on it at a time??.
If multiple users should be able to print at the same time which one should i go for??

Oracle HTTP server, Oracle 9iAS server, Oracle APPS 11i

Hi, expert:
I was reading the Oracle Applicaitons Concepts (11i). There three tiers in Apps. In the middle tier there are: Web Server, Forms Server, Concurrent Processing Server, Reports Server and Admin Server.
But when I look our company's EBS architecture below (middle tier only here), I am confused. Does 9iAS includs HTTP server? Or 9i is the middle tier? what is Apps 11i? We have Unix and 11.5.10.2.

Oracle 9iASThis is the web service component -- $IAS_ORACLE_HOME
If you stop those services you will not be able to access the main login page or any Self-Service page in the application.
Oracle Apps 11iThis is the application release (which is a group of components/tiers) -- 11i means 11.5.x (where x is from 1 to 10) or 11.5.10.1 (CU1), 11.5.10.2 (CU2)
Oracle Apps 11i comes with 3 ORACLE_HOMEs (Web: $IAS_ORACLE_HOME, Developer (Forms/Reports): 8.0.6 ORACLE_HOME, Database: $RDBMS_ORACLE_HOME).
Oracle Apps 11i = Oracle Application Tier ($APPL_TOP, $COMMON_TOP, iAS ORACLE_HOME, 8.0.6 ORACLE_HOME) + Oracle Database Tier (RDBMS ORACLE_HOME).
Forms serverThis is Oracle Developer 6i home -- 8.0.6 ORACLE_HOME
If you stop the forms server you cannot open any form.
Concurrent MangerThis component is not represented in a separate ORACLE_HOME and the executable files can be found under $APPL_TOP directory ($FND_TOP/bin).
If you stop the CM, you cannot submit concurrent requests but you can still access the application and open the forms.
If you stop the database, you cannot access any part of the application.

I installed R12 oracle applications on Linux through VMWare and every thing was fine now. My database listener, database and applications are up and running. I installed Java and Mozillla and established a soft link on LInux but was not able to access oracle applicaitons from Uniix box. I was seeing if i can do it from windows client. Mine is windows vista and i pinged the ipaddress and its connecting but was not able to access applications from windows client and also from linux.
Can any one help me accessing applications from windows client and unix box

2. Be sure your selinux and firewal disable on linux machine
3. Add your IP and hostaname to your windows C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file
4. Add your url to your trusted site on windows
5. Use IE7 or check below note to can use certified browswer and access EBS

Oracle Application eWay and RAC

Hi,
We have an Oracle 12 installation using RAC architecture, and we use JCAPS 6 RU1, and the Oracle Applicaiton eWay. Going through the Stored Procedure OTD wizard, NetBeans only allows me to specify a SID, which I can use to point to one of the nodes, and see the SP and generate the OTD. But I get an error at runtime where JCAPS does not recognise the packagename.procedurename. Our suspicion is that by using the SID we're forcing JCAPS to go to a single node to look for the SP name and it is not able to resolve it, so we need to use the service_name.
Question: Is there a way I can speficy service_name to the OTD wizard rather than a SID?

Based on the connection string I saw in the OWBSYS tables...where they were are all of the form host:port:service_name....I'd say no...

I have a problem while runtime form used.Same form (fmb) if i will go to compile it won't allow to compile..due to that form fmx ia already used.
SO can you help me what is the solution ?..bcos in Developer 6i we can compile multiple time even though form is used.

I'm more technically skilled than familiar with 11i funcationality, but in that past I have found that setting up an 11i demo environment has helped our app configurators.
It is called 11i Vision, and is a demonstration environment Oracle offers. Setting this up, if possible, at your organization might be helpful to you. The Vision demo install is offered as an option in the regular installation CD set.
