Object Link to Batch Number (MCH1 & MCHA)

I am trying to link a DIR to Batch Number.
For this i tried object MCH1(Batch Number without Plant) & MCHA (Batch Number with Plant).Screen Numbers for MCH1 is 264 & for MCHA is 265.
After making the reqd. configurations, ie. defining object links for Document Type as MCHA & MCH1 when i go to transaction CV01N i can see the tab for MCH1(screen number 1264) and no tab is available for MCHA(1265).
And when i go for CV04N, and try to search for same document type with the help of object links then both tabs are visible there. But now in these tabs material column is not visible, only Batch column is visible for MCH1 and Batch & Plant column are visible for MCHA. I have already checked the Table settings - there is nothing wrong with it.
Please guide me why such problem is occurring instead of maintaining all configuration properly. Is there anything that i have missed?

Thank you for quick response.
Looks like I was not clear in my query.
What I have done is as following:
1.Maintain Screen for Object Link: Here I maintained the objects MCH1 & MCHA with screen numbers 264 & 265 respectively. And also maintained value 1 for Authorization.
2.Define Document Type >> Define Object Link: Then I have assigned these 2 objects to the particular Document Type with DC10 along with respective screens.
Now when I go to CV01N and go to object links I can see only 1 tab which contains Material & Batch which I guess is visible because of MCH1 (Screen number 264).
But I am not able to see the other tab which should contain Material, Batch & Plant as defined in the screen 265 for object MCHA.
Second problem is when I go to CV04N, and enter the Document Type and go to object link tab, I can see 2 tabs. But one of these tabs has Batch & Plant Column and the other tab has only Batch column.
Please help me out with this. Thank you.

Batch Number Linking to Item in any document

Dear All,
I am struggling to find the actual link to Batch number allocation table ( OBTN) to actual document detail tables ( ORIN/RIN1) of particular Item.
I do not find any references in OBTN which belongs to the document detail table. I have noticed the same in Credit Memo, Delivery, Invoice documents if the item has serial numbers. GUI is allowing user to select Item serial numbers, which is considering as DistNumber, but how the entries in OBTN relates to document detail table, could not figure out.
I appreciate your help and need your help on emergency basis...

Insprction Lot and Batch Number

Hi all,
I need your help to resolve following situaltion:
Process order will be created on the basis of one campaign say production of 2-3 days. But batch needs to be created per GR after say every one hour. Hence batch will be created at the time of GR and not order release. But order has two operation, each having inprocess inspection. And inspection for 2nd operation will be n times i.e. untill required quality is acheived, result for second operation should be recorded.
Now my questions are,
1) How to link result recording of both operation with the batch which will be created after GR is done? (OR batch should be created at the time of release?)
2) System will create only one inspection lot per order, so how to record result of each operation after every hour? (If inspection point needs to be used then how?)
3) How to record result of multiple inspection for second operation till desired quality is obtained?
Scenario:
Process Order will be created for 1000 kg which is say 3 days production. (Now as there is need to identify stock of each GR seperatly we are thinking of creating batch at the time of GR and not at the time of order release.) Order has two operation, operation 10 and operation 20, each with in-process inspection. Result recording for operation 10 will be only once but for operation 20 will be done untill desired quality is not achieved. Production will be done in the lot of 50 kg. Hence quality testing and GR will be done of every 50 kg.
Points will be rewarded to every useful replies.

Changing the Batch Level
In the standard SAP System, the plant level is set as the batch level. If you want to use a different level in your company, you have to change it in Customizing and carry out a conversion program.
You choose the batch level in Customizing for Batch Management under Specify Batch Level and Activate Status Management.
While the conversion program is running, you can only post batches at the old level. You can only post batches at the new level after the conversion has been completed.
You cannot change back from a higher level to plant level in the standard system. However, you can change the batch level from client level back to material level .
To change the batch level from plant level to material level, the material has to be subject to batch management in all plants.

Batch Number for Valuation Type in BOM item detail

Dear PP Expert.
Is it possible to maintain batch number for valuation type in BOM item detail ? My requirement is for example in bom item 10, component A is maintained with batch number for valuation type so that in production order batch number field automatically filled.
Fyi i have tried user exit : Enhancement for BOM item: PCSD0002. Here we can maintain valuation type for component in item detail in customer tab. But unfortunately valuation type here is not link with batch number for valuation type in Production order.

Let me describe it more specific, I have two material FG and SFG. Material FG is maintained with valuation type so when we do goods receipt for SFG it's asked to input valuation type in batch field. In stock SFG material qty is separated for each valuation type like batch.
Now i want to maintain in BOM for FG, where component SFG has fix the valuation type / batch so that in production order we don't have to choose manually. Do you have any idea ?

The filed length for CHARG in standard SAP is only 10 Characters. If you need changes then you need to make changes to Domain CHARG, i would not recommend this.

Linked Button for Batch number and Serial Number

Hi,
Is there a way i can have a linked button for Batch numbers and serial numbers?
(These are 2 separate fields by the way).
If i use the object no 94 for serial numbers, it cannot find the record. The same issue occurs when i use batch number's object no 106.
Anyone has any idea how do i go about this?

i'm using the "106" object number. its the same thing.
Your using the linked button for the item code. I want the object to link to the batch number.
Your your linked button, when you run it against an item having 10 or so batch numbers it'll always take the 1st record. Not the record that u want it to link to on the form. (because we cannot define the Batch number with that object).
BTW, the code you've written for a matrix, you can assign all these things in the xml file or in the srf itself.

Link between storage location and batch number to retrive the salk3 field

In my report i need to give the output as follows
For each lgort with related batch number we need to get the salk3.So i need to get a link between lgort , batch number to retrive the salk3.can any one give the tables from which i can get the link and retrive the data.
note: My report output should look like the fields lgort batch and unrestriced value of stock in tcode mb52.

In 2 steps, u can get the unrestricted stock value.
step1: Get material no (MATNR), plant (WERKS), batch (CHARG) and unrestricted stock (CLABS) from table MCHB by sending Storage location and batch number.
Step2: Get standard price STPRS from table MBEW based on condition where MATNR = MCHB-MATNR, BWKEY = MCHB-WERKS and BWTAR = MCHB-CHARG.
unrestricted value in MB52 will be (MCHB-STPRS) * (MCHB-CLABS).

Object link is not created for batch through BAPI_DOCUMENT_CREATE2

I am trying to create document for batch object through program using bapi BAPI_DOCUMENT_CREATE2.
In transaction CV01N while creating document there is a provision to to link your material with Batch. I am able to create it through CV01N. But, While creating through program I am not able to create the object link. I am able to create link for material,vendor,PO.. but not for BATCH objects. The table where link objects values to be passed is OBJECTLINKS.
I have tried all possible combination but unable to create a batch object link to a material through BAPI_DOCUMENT_CREATE2.

Link between Bin Location and Batch Number

Hello.
I'm having some issues to find an link between the Bin Location and Batch Number.
I've searched through OBIN, OIBT, OBTN, OWTS, but no clue of what makes the link between this guys.

I need to link the material serial number with the batch number.
This link needs to be created in advance of the GRN.
Then at the time of goods receipt the processor can select the serial numbers relevent to specific batch number.

all the standard object dynpro numbers can be found in function group CV130. You can open this function group in transaction SE80 and go to folder 'Screens'.

Is there a limit on number of object links to DIR, and any impacts of this

Hello All,
Can you please let us know if there is any limit on the No of Object links to be maintained in the Object Link tab of DIR,
Our major Concern comes as there is One DIR logo / symbol, which is maintained in most of the Material Master around 1000s
and also the same DIR is used in all the Service and maintenance Notification as an Attachment, so the list of Object link in DIR Object link tab is going beyond control above 10000s,
i wanted to know if there is any limit on no of Object links to be maintained in DIR object links, and is there any impact on DMS functionality if the list is ever increasing,
( also can i know if there is any workaround that the DIR is only displayed going in to Material master or Notifications but the same is not listed in the DIR object links tab as here it is going on increasing,)

Thanks for the responses given, and providing a hint not to have many Object links, as it could be an performance issue going to the DMS DIR Object link TAB,
But in this particular case we are not assigning the Objectlinks going by the DMS Object links TAB, but it is done in other way round, going by the Equipment or Notification Screens,
There are few Health and safety document ( Which is created as a DIR in DMS) which needs to be assigned in Most of the Equipment and the new notifications created, and this document DIR is assigned from the Equipment and notification Screen,
And we may not be interested to go to the DIR to browse and Assign the Object Links, so as we do not frequently go and check the DIR or Use DIR Object link TAB for Object Link assignment will it in any ways cause performance Issue here??
And also as asked earlier can we have a one way attachment like the DIR is Visible in the Equipment or Notification Screen, but the DIR is not adding up the Equipment or Notification details in its Object links TAB, (by development or it is totally illogical to ask for)

Our material are batch managed and Char values are entered at the time of GR. We need to prepare stock report showing batches for the material, their stock and characteristics values.
Like to know what tables we should use to find the char values. I could not find value in table CAWN

Check a UDF of batch number when I create Goods Issue or Delivery

Hello,
I manage my items with batch number and I want to block the creation of all Goods Issue or Delivery in function of the value of a UDF (created the OIBT table).
I think I can achieve this by using the stored procedure SBO_SP_TransactionNotification, but I never used it and I don't know if (and how) I can retrieve the selected batchnumbers of my documents.
Is it possible to do so, or do you have any better suggestions???

You can find some additional information about the SBO_SP_TransactionNotification stored procedure here:

The stored procedure only returns the following;
- Object type
- Transaction type
- Num_of_cols_key (number of columns in the primary key of the object)
- List_of_key_cols_tab_del (the list of the columns in the primary key)
- List_of_cols_val_tab_del (the values of these columns)
So the stored procedure doesn't directly return the information you want. You would have to link this with a DI application to access the document in question using the value of the primary key returned by the stored procedure. (Or through using an SQL query also using the primary key returned by the SP).
Please note however, that SBO_SP_TransactionNotification is designed for notification purposes only. SAP can only support any issues arising out of use as a notification mechanism; the use of this stored procedure to block transactions or work as an authentication step are not supported. Please see SAP note 1011154 for more information.
