I am not getting the object services icon in my equipment master.
object services is used to attach documents.
where can i do the settings for it.

I would suggest you should always create/modify/delete only one record in config via LSMW.
I have more than 3000 records for this exercise, do You mean I should test it out on one record first in 0VRF during the recording??

Generic Object Services (HR Master Overview Screen)
Hi, i need to incorporate the Generic Object Services functionality to the HR Master Data linking it at three levels, namely,
Scenarios
1) GOS at Employee Level
2) GOS at Employee-Infotype Level
3) GOS at PD Object Level.
I've managed to find the solution to Scenario's 1 and 3 while i'm still trying to incorporate scenario 2.
Can someone let me know if there's any User-Exit that gets triggered at the Infotype Overview screen level from transaction PA30?
I couldnt locate an exit that'd get triggered upon calling the overview screen in the HR Master Data transaction (PA30). So is the trouble.

Creation of Equipment master throught Emigall
Hi Fritz,
Good Day!
I need to create a Emigall object for Equipment Master, which we can't
handle in LSMW because of the volume of data, I am using the same object as
used for Device of ISU.
The object name is EQUIPMENT in company ZISU. I have used those fileds only
which are required to create a equipmetn master in STW. While uploading the
data I am getting an error " Enter a valid device category" which is a
device category of ISU.
Can we do this or do we need to create some other customization in this case

If functions are assigned to the partner determination procedure, you can assign the partner determination procedure to an object (for example, to a notification type).

I have requirement to Create Attachments to Generic Object Services(GOS) in equipment master (IE03) from webdynpro when a user clicks on upload button and also allow the user to delete the attachments .
Can anyone advice me of any Function Modules or logic to use from Web GUI.
I used below logic from R/3 to create attachments, but from webdynpro this method doesn't work.
DATA lo_attachment TYPE REF TO cl_gos_document_service.
CREATE OBJECT lo_attachment.
CALL METHOD lo_attachment->create_attachment
EXPORTING is_object = ls_object
IMPORTING ep_attachment = lp_attachment

Authorization to attach and delete the pdf docs in equipment master
Dear team,
1.In equipment master there is a provsion(service for object) to add or attaching documnet, my requiremnt is,
is there a any provision to control the actvities specifically adding and deleting through authorization.
2.and can we track through chnage logs of activities like adding deleting (when and who did the activities)
i tried to check this in action log,change documents but i didn't find for specifically these functionality changes.

Then Select the Equipment Category for which you want deactivate the Sale and Distr. View and Uncheck or Unmark the "S" Column Check box

Warranty Date field in the equipment master data
Hi everyone!
I wanted to display the warranty date field in the equipment master data (IE01). I have already made the configuration and added the additional tab and screen thru this path:
Plant Maintenance and Customer Service > Master Data in Plant Maintenance and Customer Service > Technical Objects > General Data > Set View Profile for Technical Objects
But still, the tab is not added and the warranty date field is not found in the "Define Field Selection for the Equipment Master Record". please help me with this. We need this data because we are not using serial numbering and warranty master data that's why a way to track the warranty date is thru this adjustment in the equipment master data screen.

Make sure that you have assigned this specific profile to the Equipment category of the associated equipment that you are creating under SPRO > PM> Master data> tech object > Equipment > Equip category.

Attachement of drawings in equipment master.
Hi PM experts,
Through object service option as we do not have DMS, I am trying to attach drawings to equipment master through BDC.I am able to record by t-code SHDB but while processing the recording . the "create attachement" step is not coming .So our ABAP er could prepare BDC.I have around 2000 equipment & for each equipment I need to attach drawings.Can anybody pl suggest how to upload the same.Thanks in advance,

whether the uploaded file will affect system performance? How do we know where is the pic stored?
Certainly there will be some effect on the system performace (still it depends on the hardware configuration) may not be right now, but may be in future as the attachements keeps on adding..
And more over these files will not store in a proper manner in the SAP application server. These files mostly will be storing in SAP work location directory. The major effect of this would, while taking back up of the SAP system these files may not be including in the back up process, which could be a serious concern.
You can check with your BASIS guy for taking theback up of these files as in the case of RK log back up which is taken seperately after the SAP data back up.
Better to analyse this with the help of your technical team before you proceed further with this functionality.

Equipment master record updation in Asset master record
Dear Friends,
I have a query with regard to Equipment master record updation in asset master record. Here we have created equipment in Plant maintenance module and we have created asset in AS01 tcode. When we give the asset number to PM module guys, they can easily update the asset number in their equipment master by changing the equipment master record.
But when we enter the same in asset master record in 3rd tab allocations tab, initially it is accepting the equipment details like equipment number, category, object and tech description, but the same is not available after saving.
Please let me know whether I have to do any customization in asset settings inorder to get the equipment number populated in asset master record.

How to get change documents for Equipment Master Records of a document?
Hi experts,
I need a report for changes of Equipment Master for a document.
There is a way to reach this for every document : Environement - > Display Changes. Then I can get a report for "Changes to Object Links". But this can only show me that which equipments are linked to this document. What I want to search is which documents are linked to the equipment. I want to search with equipment number and get the history of changes for documents, Which documents are attached to this equipments and when did these documents attach to the equipment.
Can I get this report with standard SAP queries / reports? Where can I get this informations? From which tables?
PS: If i run a search with Equipment Master Data form CV04N, I can see which documents are linked to this equipment but I can't see when they are attached.

In CV04n,in Object Links tab,provide your search input criteria.Once the results are displayed,navigate to Current Layout button.Herein,move the 'Output Date' value to Displayed Column list.
Once done,you should be able to view the date on which the DIR with associated objects(Eg: Equipment Master) was created.Hope this helps!!

Automatic Creation of Equipment Master
Hi Experts
I have gone through lot of discussion available on forum but still Asset Equipment link is not working.
I would like to create Equipment when I create Asset.
I have done below settings.
1) Asset Accounting --> Master Data --> Automatic Creation of Equipment Master -> Specify Conditions for Synchronization of Master Data
here i have assigned equipment category and object type and selected direct synchronization after saving in Create Equipment
2) Asset Accounting --> Master Data --> Automatic Creation of Equipment Master -> Assign Master Data Fields of Assets and Equipment
here i have assigned fields here.
When I create asset and save its only creating assets and even not getting error message . I have also checked screen layout and equipment is optional and not seems to be a problem.
To see whether synchronization functionality works I have done settings from Equipment to Asset creation and it's working but that's not the requirement.
I have changed the settings back to the 1) above to create equipment when asset is being created and it's not working.
So to summaries when I create Asset - No equipment is created but if i change settings other way then asset is getting created from equipment.
My question is what settings are missing to create Equipment when I create Assets?
Is there any settings required from equipment side? any specific requirement on equipment category and object type?

Simple,
1. Go to AOLK and check which tab layout is assigned to your asset class, to transaction group 'Others'.
2. Go to AOLA select layout you found out at 1st step, then double click on 'Tab Page Titles'.
3. Select tab page Allocations and click on position group on tab pages.
4. Click on new entries and insert 'S0013', save.
after doing this you will be able to find 'equipment' box under allocation.
and regarding asset synchronization..
Asset Accounting --> Master Data --> Automatic Creation of Equipment Master -> Specify Conditions for Synchronization of Master Data
In this step, under the box 'Edit Asset Master Record' mention,
Create Equipment 2 Direct Synchronization after saving
Change Equipment 2 Direct Synchronization after saving
Make sure you do not have any other field 'required' in equipment creation and not assigned to asset field.
After doing this you should be able to get equipment created automatically..

Events available in Generic Object Services (GOS)?
Hello everybody
Searched around in SDN and also tried to find something useful in our system (SWO1) but can't find useful information on GOS events so I guess it probably doesn't exist?
I'm searching a way to catch GOS events when someone adds, changes or deletes an attachment (URL) in the generic object services of an object, e.g. for a material master (BUS1001006). I'd like to create a change document for this and based on that to trigger some further processing for one of our interfaces.
Anybody out there knowing how to achieve this?

RenaudThere's a couple of BaDIs with GOS names such as GOS_SRV_REQUEST that might help. Otherwise I'd try using SE30 with lots of logging options set on to trace where you may be able to grab this info from. GOS subscriptions may be another thing to look at.
