Ocfs on Redhat AS [ia64 (itanium)]

Is there a build of the ocfs for the 64 bit Linux?

I found the answer I was looking fot, at www.ocfs.org/ocfs/RPMS/.

  • SQL Server 2000 64-bit: x64-bit edition vs IA64 Itanium processor ?

    Hi Forum,
I do need SQL Server 2000 64-bit. So, I have used our premium MSDN subscription, and I have downloaded:
SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition - 64-bit (English)
SQL Server 2000 Developer Edition - 64-bit (English)
However, Our DBA specialist informed me that both packages are for the IA64 Itanium processor, and what we really need is for the
    x64-bit edition.
Could you please help me out ?

    Hello,
To my knowledge 64-bit version of SQL Server runs on Itanium and Tandem only. You have to install SQL Server 2000 32-bit on a 64-bit
    Windows operating system.
    Hope this helps.

  • Oracle 10.2.0.4 (64 bit) for IA64 (Itanium) Windows Availability?

Does anyone know when 10.2.0.4 will be available for Itanium Windows based systems?  It has been available for every other platform for quite a while now.
    thanks,

    Hi,
    Did Oracle release it?
    Then why Metalink note
161549.1 "Oracle Database Server and Networking Patches for Microsoft Platforms"
    indicates:
    64-Bit Itanium Patches :
    Patch       Target date
    10.2.0.4.0   Beginning 2009
This is a question only Oracle can answer. I think that, if you are "really" interested, you will have to open a message with SAP
As soon As Oracle Releases, then SAP must test it. So give it a couple more weeks (minimum) afer the oracle release date

How do you run the program?
I need to copy the compiled BasicPlugin.api under Acrobat\plug_ins folder. I can create a subfolder of plug_ins and copy the .api file there. Just one level deep: if I create a subfolder under a subfolder of plug_ins, the .api file will not be found by Acrobat.
Then I need to restart Acrobat and I find the plugin running. In particular, BasicPlugin add a new Acrobat SDK menu and a menu item under it.
If I close Acrobat and go back to Visual Studio, I can push the Debug button which will open Acrobat for me and stop the program execution at any breakpoints I have set in the code.

  • Manufacturing-admin still not working

    Hi everyone!
I had no problem in getting SQL Trace up and running on my local Netweaver instance. However now I'm stuck getting SQL Trace running on our test machine. I followed the instructions given in the respective documents as well as the ones given in thread [http://localhost:50000/manufacturing-admin/ not working |http://localhost:50000/manufacturing-admin/ not working   ]  - yet it won't work. In ICM Monitor the status of HTTPS protocol is inactive.
What might I be missing? Thanks for hints on solving this issue.

    Hi Juliane,
There are a lot of SAP Cryptographic libraries available from Service Marketplace, but it's tricky to find them:
    1. Login to the Service Marketplace
    2. Navigate to Software Downloads - > Installations and Upgrades
    3. In the download catalog find the link SAP Cryptographic Software
    4. Click the same link once again and in the popup window agree to the terms
    5. Browse the list of all available cryptographic libraries and download the one suitable for you software/hardware config
There are just three different libraries for Microsoft Windows:
    1. SAP Cryptographic Library Microsoft Win32 for x86/IA32 3342 08/06/2010
    2. SAP Cryptographic Library Microsoft Win64 for IA64 (Itanium) 3342 08/06/2010
    3. SAP Cryptographic Library Microsoft Windows 2003 for x86_64 3342 08/06/2010
You probably need the first one
Let us know if it helps

  • Which SAPCRYPTO.DLL for Web Dispatcher on WIN 2008 64-bit

    Hi all,
I have installed WebDispatcher 7.20 on a Windows 2008 64-bit platform - according to PAM this is a supported platform.
Now I cannot find a suitable Cryptographic Library that does not cause the following error message during startup in dev_webdisp:
    *** ERROR => DlLoadLib()==DLENOACCESS - LoadLibrary("c:program filesSAPSAPWebDispsapcrypto.dll")
      Error 193 = "c:program filesSAPSAPWebDispsapcrypto.dll is not a valid Win32 application."
When I browse the download catalogue on marketplace there is only one download available for WIN 2008 64-bit and this one seems to be for Itanium:
SAP Cryptographic Library Microsoft Win64 for IA64 (Itanium)
Can anyone please let me know where to find the suitable sapcrypto.dll for usage on WIN 2008 X-64 platform together with WebDispatcher 7.20?
Thanks a lot in advance and best regards

    Hello Günter,
With my Web Dispatcher 7.2 running on Windows 2008 64 bit, I use SAPCRYPTO-Library 5.5.5pl26 target
x64 (AMD64/EM64T/Intel64). It works OK for my use (SSL ).
I have never been able to download any sapcrypto lib even after asking our SAP correspondant to activate the download link for us.

  • My Intel based PC security

I have read that Intel plans to incorporate McAfee security into its hardware.     If Lenovo has made a statement on how this will impact IBM Intel based PCs would you kindly point me to it.  I would like to read it.
I have an Intel Centrino chip in my  X200 which I assume will not be impacted by this announcement, unless of coursse, a firmware upgrade was planned to incorporate the McAfeee security software.  If it were offered, I would want to be able to bypass it.  My concern would then move to any future purchases of Intel based PCs.
Fortunately my IBM desktop is AMD based.  It is several years old and when it expires I will look for yet another one that is AMD based.  Though Apple makes a good PC,  they are very closed and dispise all things open ...so  not  on my buy list.
My list of a few concerns, re:  McAfee software embeded in a hardware chip ...
The impact of a false positive on my PC ... would I be able to boot it
I like to choose my security vendor and one AV running at a time is my rule.
firmware upgrades have dire consequenceson PCs  if they fail. They can brick a PC.
removing a virus not detected my McAfee ... Oh glee!   The BIOS is my favourite place to hang out.
delay in booting while McAfee upgdates its definition file ... where is this little gem going to reside?
imapct to open systems :   Linux ?
a McAfee upgrade failure ...  can Intel bypass it and will the PC boot?  If it does (hmm take a guess, the user has no AV running until it gets fixed.
Of course, these are all speculative problems and may end up not being the impact I assume them to be.  However,  I would like to see what Lenovo's direction is on this very important issue.  Will Intel remain a strategic component in Lenovo products if the security software is imbeded into Intel Chips.

    Hello,
I think that people tend to forget that Microsoft Windows NT ran on MIPS, DEC Alpha and PowerPC CPUs as well as IA32/IA64 hardware instruction set processors, and that Windows CE supported ARM, MIPS and Hitachi CPUs as well.  While the majority of their expertise lies in IA32 (x86/x64) and IA64 (Itanium) code, Microsoft does have some experience with other instruction sets.  And that's not even getting into the XBOX360.
Security on chip is great for the enterprise, but I am unsure what sort of consumer demand there is for it.  To me, the main advantage of "Windows 8" (or whatever it will be called) will be in battery life.  Consumers and businesses do seem to want computers that run for a full day on a single chart, and ARM's power-sipping cores are one way to provide that.
I think web browser virtualization entered the mainstream when Microsoft introduced Windows Vista in 2006, and before that, we had Ronen Tzur's Sandboxie (an awesome program) and GreenBorder, which was acquired by Google.
As you pointed out, many attacks rely on social engineering.  They are also typically financially-motivated, which is what, in part, makes worms like Stuxnet and VB.NEI (a/k/a MyWife, Blackmal, and so forth) so interesting, because they do not have a financial connection.  In some respects, those are steps back to an earlier time, when the goal of malware authors was damage.  Getting back to virtualization, though, if your goal is to steal a person's money, it really doesn't matter if it is done via malware or XSS or phishing.  Those are the things which users need to be protected against, and that's why security software now does things like packet inspection and detection of application vulnerabilities, since those are ways into computer users' systems.

  • 32bit and 64bit oracle 9.2

    Dear Guru's,
I have SAP 4.7 ext 200 with oracle 9.2 and windows 2003 standard edition all these are 32bit .Now my client wants to buy new hardware which is 64bit to implement the same version mentioned above.for SAP4.7 64bit kernel is available in SMP but I didnt find oracle 9.2 64bit .Please advice whether SAP 4.7 ext 200 can be installed with 64bit kernel and oracle 9.2 64bit available(OS win2003 64bit) on 64bit hardware  or all the OS and SAP with oracle 32bit on 64bit hardware should we choose.
    Best Regards,
    Sanju

Well... those are the rumours - which are just that.
Itanium is a 64bit processor - yes - but it´s a totally different architecture. Those programs will NOT run on an Intel Xeon processor. The difference between those two is, that one is IA64 (Itanium-2) and the other is X86_64 (also called x64).
You will need an installation CD set for that x86_64 (or x64) - NOT for Itanium if you have an Intel Xeon processor.
    Read the following notes:
    960769 - Windows: Migration from 32-bit to 64-bit (x86_64)
    931024 - FAQ: 64-bit platforms for Windows
Especially the second will explain the differences.
It makes no sense to install 32bit (SAP-) application software on a 64bit operating system since there are native 64bit binaries to use, without them, you won´t benefit of the 64bit hardware. You need to check, however, that 3rd party software (backup etc.) has also 64bit clients for your combination.

  • SUS - Limit OS Versions supported.

    Dear all,
Maybe I didn't use the correct search terms or otherwise missed it. But is there an way to make the Software Update Service to support Snow Leopard only?
There are no Tiger or Leopard clients around, and although disks are cheap bandwidth is limited in some setups, and having only 1000Kb download speed at some sites, excluding some might reduce the load during the day.
    Thanks,
    Stijn
