Odd ProRes sequence set-up behavior in Premiere Pro CC

When I create a new sequence by dragging a ProRes HQ file onto New Item icon, it creates a DNxHD sequence.  My ProRes HQ footage is captured by the Blackmagic Shuttle2 recorder, and MediaInfo verifies it is ProRes.  Yet the sequence settings in Premiere Pro CC show:
Editing Mode:  DNX 145 1080i
Video Previews box:
Preview File Format: DNX 145 1080i 59.94
Codec:  DNxHD
I am on a Mac with Quicktime 7 installed.  There is no problem ingesting and importing the ProRes HQ camera video files into Premiere Pro.  I am just not seeing a ProRes sequence being created.  Is there something else I should test for?
Thanks.

No, sadly.
I went into great deal about it here:  http://forums.adobe.com/message/5457995#5457995 , and here :http://forums.creativecow.net/readpost/3/942978 ; it seems to be a 'well known' bug?
I can work around the sequence not matching the clip properties, but I want the export settings to match the clip properties (which is why I wanted the sequence settings to match the clip properties; because then I can do an export using sequence settings).  I can't do that now unless I do it manually....anyway, see my first link above for the details.
Thanks!

  • Right sequence and export settings in Premiere Pro CS6, video with still images

I am trying to run a video on my website (self hosted). This video, made with Premiere Pro CS6, consists of still images with different video effects.
This video is only 50 seconds, but when I transform this in the ogg, webm and mp4 format, I obtain file with large size and the quality is not good.
Could you please guide me to find out the right sequence and export settings in Premiere Pro CS6 to obtain a video for the best possible quality on the web?
A precise description of the settings would be awesome.
    Thank you
    Silvia

Make the export setting the resolution you want to use on the web.
Make the sequence settings accordantly to these export settings

  • How do I set poster frame in Premiere Pro?

Does anyone know how to set poster frame in Premiere Pro? Wasted hours trying to figure this out and reading all forum threads and sadly still to no avail. Any help much appreciated.

thanks at JSS1138 for this and that appears to enable me to select 'set poster frame' (albeit it not on static images). However, when I export the video the (supposedly now) set poster frame still does not appear as the preview image. Any ideas on this?

  • How can i save a sequence into a folder in premiere pro cc

How can i save a sequence into a folder in premiere pro cc

Your question is confusing. It could mean a few different things.
    A. If you just want to have the sequence in a particular bin in the Project panel, then drag it there.
    B. If you mean you want to save a sequence so that all of the necessary files are in one folder on your hard drive, simply create a new project and import the sequence into your new project. Then use the Project Manager to gather all of your files together.

  • Sequence cannot be opened in Premiere Pro 5 after installing AE5.5 Trial

I'm travelling with  my macbook pro and Master Collection CS5
A couple weeks ago After Effects crapped out on me, saying Quicktime wasn't installed.  Days of delay while I searched forums and the intertubes. A quick workaround suggested by a friend seemed to be to uninstall AECS5 and install the AECS5.5 Trial, as I'm travelling 9000 miles from my installer discs and can't just grab them and reinstall the entire Master Collection LIKE I DID 3 WEEKS AGO BECAUSE ACROBAT FREAKED OUT and wouldn't open because it said it was installed as part of a suite and it couldn't find the suite.
So the AECS5.5 trial got me going for my after effects work.   It reinstalled the QT32 server or whatever.
However, now I go back to Premiere to open my project files from before I installed the AE5.5 Trial, and most of my presets are gone, and I get the "Sequence cannot be opened..." message detailed in other places on the forums.  Doing the XML hack doesn't work.  So the AE trial has trashed my formerly working registered Premiere?
Any ideas?  I'm 9000 miles from my installer discs. I gather that the Premiere Pro trial won't have the presets I need to work.

    Hi,
    Workaround-
You can download the trial version of Master collection CS 5.5 its free for 30days and it work like the serialized version that is there are no limitations..
you dont need to uninstall the master collection CS5 for installing CS5.5...
Are you able to launch Premiere CS5 ? and create new project ?
How did you unistalled AE CS5 ?
Did you used Dynamic link in your existing CS5 Project ?

  • Exported Flash JPEG sequence out of sync in Premiere Pro

    What I have:
CS6 version of Flash Pro and Premiere Pro.
Uncompressed audio in .wav format at 44100hz
    What I am doing:
Importing the .wav file to stage in flash pro.
Creating animations based on the audio at 24fps
Exporting the animation as JPEG sequence.
Importing the JPEG sequence to Premiere Pro.
Importing the .wav file to library in Premiere Pro.
Exporting the the animation with audio as .mp4
    Result:
    Audio out of sync.
NOTE: This problem can also be seen when importing the JPEG sequence and audio in Premiere Pro.

Here's what I've discovered while working with JPEG sequences and audio files:
Since you are dealing with individual still frames within the JPEG sequence, it will always import at a full 30fps, rather than 29.97 or 23.976 (depending on the project). The audio file, most likely, will show up as either 29.97 or 23.976. Let's say, for this example, we are working in a 29.97 project. If you pair the JPEG sequence with your audio, you will have a .03 frame difference, per second (30fps vs. 29.97fps).
You will need to conform the JPEG sequence to match the frame rate of your audio. In After Effects, while the JPEG sequence is still in the Project Panel, right click and then select "Interpret Footage." Select "Main." In this dialog box, change the frame rate from 30 to 29.97 (or 23.976). Choose either Drop Frame or Non-Drop, depending on your project.
After clicking "OK," you can take that JPEG sequence and drop it into a composition with your audio. You should be good to go.

  • Some sequences are lost after updated premiere pro 2014

I downloaded trial ver of pp cc2014 last month and now got updated to 8.1 . before i had trouble with opening file  it was newer version of premiere pro edited and i couldn't get my file opened up again untill i have updated premiere cc 2014 in adobe application manager. and now i could get my file opened. but the main sequence is lost, i couldn't even find it in project panel either. i clicked open project choose the one i have edited before which is a month ago. and it says audio filter missing and bunch of codes. Whats happening here? please help!

Go to HD/Library/Quictime and delete all .component files. It appears that the correct procedure is to delete all QT components and everything so far works. I have to do this every time I run after effects or Premiere Pro, and remember to put them back in again after shutting down software. Any ideas why this is happening folks?

  • What's a decent set up for a Premiere Pro, CS5 noob?

Hey there, I'm a Premiere Pro noob and I'm trying to assemble my first editing PC.  I'm completely new to all of this, so I've just been doing some research and I have come up with this list.  I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions of changes I could make, or maybe there are things that I'm missing that I should consider.  I assume one of the first things I'll hear is the the hard drives are too small - 3 x 320GB.  I'm mostly concerned with keeping the cost down.  I was hoping to set up my PC for 1500, so I'm spending that little bit more already.  I don't want to overclock and I'll be mostly editing AVCHD, so there's no need for RAID afaik.  Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated!

My 3 hard drives are configured as...
    1 - 320Gig Boot for Win7 64bit Pro and all program installs
2 - 320Gig data for Win7 swap file and video project files
3 - 1Terabyte data for all video files... input & output files
Your data drive really needs to be larger than 320Gig
Search Microsoft to find out how to redirect your Windows swap file

  • Have I set some parameter in Premiere Pro that has removed my audio on some videos?

I recently installed Premiere Pro CC as a trial. I  started learning to use the program with a particular clip with a .mpg extension.  At first, sound was not an issue, but now, suddenly I have no sound with this clip, and when I play clip on this computer outside Premiere Pro, it no longer plays with sound.  When I play the clip on another computer, sound is no problem.  Additionally other .mpg clips no longer have sound.
I have DL'd and installed the K-lite codecs to no avail. Other sounds, mp3s, computer prompt sounds, all work no problem, but not these particular .mpg files.  Any suggestions, please?  Thank you.

    Enclosed are the data -
I did clear Media Cache Database
I am playing the clips in the source monitor and the program monitor
Something fundamental has changed - the clip will no longer provide audio within PP, or outside when played by any media player including VLC, Irfan, and Winamp. The same clip removed to another machine plays with no problems.
I have removed K-lite and cleaned the registry
    Thank you for your help.

  • Image sequence of jpegs import into Premiere Pro CC 2014 out of sync!

Ever since I left CS6 to CC 2014, image sequences as jpeg files do not properly import into Premiere in sync anymore.  I use Blender 3d to export render scenes as jpegs then convert them to h.264 mpeg4 video clips in Premiere.  What happens is that the images upload into Premiere's project tab out of order, even though they are correctly ordered in my hard drive.  Improper naming conventions are probably ruled out since their files extensions are _000 types, and I never had a problem importing sequences in CS6 anyways.  Still image default duration is set to 1 in the general preferences.  Does anyone know what is suggest?  Thanks.

Good point, I am importing as separate jpegs each set to one frame, so it's not an image sequence as I thought.
My indeterminate media timebase and sequence are the same (29.97fps), though I have to say that even if they were different I don't see why that would be a problem.
Here is a screen shot of my images just after uploading them into the project tab, it is seen from first to last that file numbers appear out of order such as 066, 054, 072, 058...ect:
Is there anything else I could try?

  • How do I relink after effects compositions to my premiere pro sequence?

I've re-installed the latest Premiere Pro CC and After Effects CC programs and opened a project I have recently been working on. Now each linked composition is offline and when I use 'Link Media' it won't respond to me clicking on the appropriate AE file.
'Adobe Dynamic Link' in the file menu is grayed out as well as 'Edit Original' and 'Replace With After Effects Composition' in the clip right-click menu
I have a full membership of adobe suite CC and have updated to the latest versions of both Creative Cloud, Premiere Pro and After Effects
I've tried uninstalling then re-installing; signing out then signing back in. All attempts to google the issue have lead to nothing.
Really hope its something very simple that I'm missing, please help

sounds like premiere thinks AE is not installed. im not sure what premiere looks at to figure that out and enable AE options, perhaps someone else, or adobe staff knows what setting to change to fix this.  otherwise you may have to try to uninstall, use the cleaner tool to clean out any left over parts of the program left behind, then reinstall.   Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
this thread adobe staff tried to help, but seems not to know the proper setting.  dynamic link - premiere pro to after effects

  • Premiere Pro CC (2014) crashing when making a sequence

I just did a clean install of OS X Yosemite and installed Creative Cloud on my 2008 MacPro. Every time I make a new sequence or open a saved Premiere Pro CS6 project, Premiere Pro CC 2014 always crashes. I am not sure what is going on because before I updated OS X from Mavricks, I used Premiere Pro CS6 with no issues at all. Please help! Thanks!
    Here are my MacPro settings:
Here are the errors I am getting:
That blank space usually says this:

Ok I have seemed to "fix" the problem. I have two video cards on my MacPro:
I have a three monitor setup with two monitors on the 2600 XT and a single monitor on the 6870. I unplugged the two monitors on the 2600 XT and created a new sequence and it didn't crash. Not quite sure what is going on with this because this was never an issue while I was running Adobe Premiere Pro CS6. I still do want to run a three monitor setup but the 6870 doesn't want to support three monitors. Hopefully there is an update from Adobe that will fix this issue.
Is there a way that Premiere will not try to use the other video card?

  • Why Do I get Choppy Playback in Premiere Pro CS6

Before upgrading from CS5.5 to CS6 I wiped my computer and started from scratch. When editing 4 angles in CS5.5 I never had any problems with playback... even after adding titles, effects..
In CS6 I have my 4 files set into a multicam sequence but when I play back and start cutting from cam to cam it gets choppy.
    I am running:
    Windows 7 64bit
On a Dell Studio XPS 9100
    Intel Core i7 930 @ 2.80GHz
    12.0 GB Ram
    ATI Radeon HD 5800
I have my memory preferences in PR set to 12 GB Installed, Ram for other aps = 3 Ram fpr PR 9GB, and it set to performance
Any help to speed up and render this proper would be great, Still have to add color correction, titles, logo.

The 1st update came out today. Downloading now. Looks like it should fix my old problems... fingers crossed
What's new in Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 6.0.1:
    May 26th, 2012
Features added or changed in this update:
    · Improved performance using OpenCL, especially when used on Mac OSX v10.7.4 or later.
    · Added encoding presets with additional bit-rate settings for XDCAM HD.
    · Added Automatic Peak File Generation preference in the Audio category for turning off automatic peak file generation for imported audio. By default, this preference is enabled and matches the behavior of Premiere Pro CS6 (6.0.0).
    · When this preference is disabled, importing audio or opening projects will not cause peak files to be generated. If peak files were already generated, then waveforms will be visible. Files imported before the preference was disabled will continue to generate peak files.
    · Enabled “smart rendering” and added Enable Smart Rendering Codec setting to the Video tab of the MXF OP1a exporters for XDCAM HD and XDCAM EX to enable or disable smart rendering for these formats. This option defaults to the off/disabled state. We’ll have more information about this feature in a post on this blog within a day.
    Bugs fixed in this update:
    · Start timecode was not imported or exported correctly when working with AAF files.
    · Some files from the Canon 5D Mark III camera were imported with the wrong timecode.
    · Playing/viewing waveforms in the Source Monitor caused audio dropouts with some XDCAM HD clips.
    · NTSC MXF OP1a files that were exported with drop-frame timecode had video data that was tagged as non-drop-frame.
    · Switching the Renderer project setting from Mercury Playback Engine Software Only to Mercury Playback Acceleration GPU Acceleration on a computer using OpenCL caused Premiere Pro to crash under some circumstances. Switching between the two settings on a computer using CUDA would in some cases cause problems with video and/or audio playback.
    · Crash when using full-screen, cinema mode on some computer systems.
    · Tape capture was not working correctly with some third-party systems.
    · Crash when capturing from tape using some BlackMagic hardware.
    · An extra, black frame was included at the end of the output when exporting to P2 MXF in some circumstances.
    · First two frames were being played twice on external monitor using Matrox MXO2.
    · Crash when using “hover scrub” with Matrox MXO2.
    · Audio/video synchronization was off by a few frames when playing video on external monitor.
    · The Export Frame button was not exporting the correct frame, instead exporting a frame one or two frames away from the current frame.
    · Some audio files and some MXF files would go offline or have their audio reconformed when the project was re-opened or when Premiere Pro was minimized or lost focus.
    · Crash when modifying an effect property while playback was occurring.
    · Hang/freeze when using a dissolve transition on an adjustment layer.
    · Dropped frames and audio/video synchronization issues when exporting to tape using some third-party hardware.
    · Information about dropped frames on output to tape was not accessible to third-party systems.
    · Some QuickTime files were imported with the wrong field order.
    · When audio was sent through a Mercury Transmit plug-in, any number of channels that was not 2 or 6 was treated as mono.
    · In HDV editing mode, File > Export > Tape could not be used with third-party hardware.
    · The current-time indicator (playhead) was not returning to the current time after using the Play Around command.
    · Last several frames of output when exporting to tape were black.
    · When encoding a 23.976 fps video to H.264, the duration of the video in the output .m4v file was too short, and audio drifted out of synchronization with the video.
    · Transparency (alpha channel) information from a dynamically linked After Effects composition was rendered incorrectly in Premiere Pro.
    · Importing some QuickTime OP1a files caused Premiere Pro to hang.
    · The duration of the audio track sent to SpeedGrade using the Send To SpeedGrade command was the length of the entire Premiere Pro sequence, not the length of the work area.
    · Timecode written to trimmed clips using the Project Manager did not match the source timecode for some QuickTime files.
    · Various other crashes.
