Odi 10g excel jdbc to oracle on linux server

Hi everyone,
I want to read excel file to insert Oracle DB.I know On windows system I should ODBC data server using Microsoft exel driver. But On linux server How can I do that?
I have read and downloaded this document.
http://odiexperts.com/odi_jdbc_excel/
and this one
ODI reading Excel via ODBC on Linux
Bu Maybe it can be problem that copy JDBC excel jar file to agent file in linux server odi.(in odiexpert.com.it is written so)
İs there any solution read excel file on linux server?
Can anyone help me?
Regards

There is no other way as this is a os specific issue. Better you go for JDBC drivers processing excel file like Dev has developed or some other vendors are selling it.
Another option could be create one agent in the windows system where you are getting excel files and process them using that agent.

  • Is vsftpd included in the Oracle Enterprise Linux Server Release 5.3?

    Hi there,
I have just installed Oracle Enterprise Linux server release 5.3 (Tikanga). I was trying to setup the "vsftpd" service but was unable to find it. Do you know if vsftpd is distributed along with 5.3 or do I need to install it seperately? Although there is "gssftp" and I configured the same.
In case anyone knows please let me know.
    Thanks.

    Hi all,
I need this vsftpd thing also. Someone told me that it works as a file server right? We need to have sa centralized repository of all our Oracle Apps Documentations (BR100, MD50, Oracle Tutor, Test Scripts, TA100, etc)
How do you configured this thing as "centralized" repository?

I see in this forum some solutions but none works for me (I´m installing Oracle Unbreakable Linux 5 x64) to solve this problem I put libXp lib but the problem is the same.
    The library is installed:
    [root@SRVAXILAB072 oracle]# ll /usr/lib64/libXp.so.6
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 14 Aug 16 18:10 /usr/lib64/libXp.so.6 -> libXp.so.6.2.0
    [root@SRVAXILAB072 oracle]#
But I think the installation process are searching in /usr/lib but I didn´t have the library in 32b I tried to copy to /usr/lib and another crazy ideas but didn’t work.
I read alot of post and guides for installation process but I didn´t see nothing to install Oracle in Oracle Unbreakable Linux 5
    Some ideas??
If not..... I will try with Oracle Unbreakable linux 4 :(
    Thanks

Well, I've not been in touch with installs on linux myself for a long time, but it seems you need a few 32-bit libs. Try installing libXp-1.0.0-8.i386.rpm.

  • Using Windows NT 4.0 client program connecting to oracle 8i linux server

    Dear sir/madam,
Recently, I have successfully installed Oracle 8i in my red hat linux database server. I am disappointed because I can find client side Oracle Enterprise Manager in my linux server even I have installed client program in my linux database server.
Next, I install Oracle 8i client side program (windows NT/2000 version) in my Windows NT 4.0 server. I am still disappointed because I find Oracle Enterprise Manager console cannot work.
For Windows NT 4.0 Enterprise Manager, I have key in default administrator sysman, password oem_temp, and connect to mamagement server hangng (my linux database server). An error message display 'VTK-1000 Unable to connect to the management server hangng. Please verify that you have entered the correct host name and the status of the Oracle Management Server.'.
What's wrong with both Oracle 8i Management Server in linux database server and windows nt 4.0 server. Is there any problem for Oracle Management server console to connect to red hat linux database server?

I saw another thread that mentioned a patch level required for 8i to let the 10g client connect. Is there such a patch level needed for 11g clients as well? There is no such patch for 8i which allows 11g client to connect.

  • Where to place the oracle 10g forms and reports folder in Linux server

    Hi....
Currently iam migrating a module to oracle 10g.
All my modules which consists of form folders and report folders are inside a
folder called PROJECT and placed in C:\ in windows server.
    So when i want to call a form or report i have used path as 'C:\PROJECT\module_name\form_name.fmx';
Now my client wants his project to be used in LINUX based server.
Now i want to know where i have to place my Project's form folder and reports folder
and how i have to call them...
    thanx in advance

Can you say how can i call reports as u said hardcoding the path while calling report is not a good practice.I agree with Dhiraj Madan, hardcoding paths is a very bad idea, your application becomes non-portable.
For FORMS_PATH you can use default.env, as already said (or <your envfile>.env, if any).
The same can be done for REPORTS_PATH, by using reports.sh script, in $ORACLE_HOME/bin.

  • Need help with Thin JDBC connecting Oracle to SQL server.

I am fairly new to JAVA. We have ORACLE 8.1.7 running on Solaris 8. I have a need to
periodically extract data from ORACLE DB and transfer it to SQL Server. I am limited to

From what I have read, Server-side Thin driver should work.

I had complete success in reading from Oracle and writing to SQL Server. First of all let me thank you for all your help. I do have one last request. Its more on optimization than any thing else.

if i can then plz tell me this how can i do this.

The only option you have to install RAC on 1 machine is to use Oracle VM, VMWare or Linux Virtualization feature (Linux Xen).

    thanks in advance,

Yes, it is possible, but you can perfectly install the 64 bits version on RHEL4. However you will have more trouble on unsupported OS... so it's useful that you can install the 32 bits version.

  • Performanceproblem with WL6.1 JDBC and Oracle

    Hi!
I have a big performance-problem using wl6.1, jdbc and oracle.
My Server is sending a Vector with NodeBeans via JDBC to a OracleDB. The answer
    comes immediately with the timeout.
Why is the EJB waiting for the timeout?
Is it a problem of configuration?
    Thanks
    Thomas

    Hi Sree,
    here I send You the class with the main problem. The call queryDataSet.refresh();
    is the timeconsuming part.
We are using WL6.1sp2, Oracle 8.1.7 with classes12. In our environment we can
    not use connectionpools.
It comes back with a timeout AND the data. Calling it again immediately it takes
2/3 of the time the timeout is set.
Do You have a fine solution?
