ODI re-ordering hierarchy when updating an attribute

Hi,
I have a daily time period custom dimension with a number of attributes on it. One of these attributes needs to be updated on a single member daily (the current day's member). I created a source with one record in it - the daily time period member (which is based on the system date) and the attribute value. I created an interface to update this member. The interface works fine, except it puts the member that was updated at the bottom of its hierarchy, which I don't want. I need all of the members to remain in their original order. Does anyone know of any way to prevent the move from occurring?
Sabrina

I believe that is the default way it works, if you would like to operate differently then you should contact Oracle and put forward an enhancement request.
Cheers

  • Error when updating 0CUSTOMER Attributes

    Dear Experts,
    I'm trying to update the 0CUSTOMER Attributes.
    The data is passed to the PSA with no errors, but when I process the DTP I'm having an error in one record.
    The error is the following:
    Diagnosis
        Data record 4103 & with the key '0000103940 &' is invalid in value 'G &
        E LOGISTICS INC# &' of the attribute/characteristic 0NAME &.
    System Response
        The system has recognized that the value mentioned above is invalid, and
        has processed this general error message. A subsequent message may give
        you more information on the error. This message refers to the same
        value, even though it does not state this explicitly.
    Procedure
        If this message appears during a data load, maintain the attribute in
        the PSA maintenance screens. If this message appears in the master data
        maintenance screens, leave the transaction and call it again. This
        allows you to maintain your master data.
    I've checked SDN but only found similar erros in the object 0MATERIAL but couldn't understand the resolution.
    Could you give me a help?
    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Rui Romba

    Hi,
    Your psa data have wrong/bad data.
    its have special characters(&,#). bw won't allow to load them to dso/cube.
    So you need delete the your failed request from target and edit psa.
    reload again to target.
    Here is wrong one: Bold letters.
    Data record 4103 & with the key '0000103940 &' is invalid in value 'G &
        E LOGISTICS INC# &' of the attribute/characteristic 0NAME &.
    Once you delete the red request from target, at PSA, keep filter on filed 0NAME and find the wrong entry.
    edit it by manual and save it.relaod the data.
    Use - RSKC for specical cases.
    Thanks

  • ORA-20001 when Updating Reporting Attributes

    I have a simple SQL report in Apex3.0 - I first created it with standard display just to get the feel of it. I went back to the Report region to change the paging and display attributes of the report -> then I click on "Apply Changes" I get the following error :-
    Report attributes updated.

    Does anyone know how to resolve ?

    HI Scott

    I tried this several times :
    I logout - then login again -
    go the page containg the sql report
    -> click on that report region
    -> click on report attribute tab
    -> make minute changes such as "Show Null Values as : <blank>" ,
    then click on apply changes > I get the same error.

  • Updating marketing attributes from BW

    Hi anyone!
    We're using the Analysis Process Designer in BW for updating marketing attributes in CRM. We face two problems:
    1. When updating an attribute with several values (have set the multiple value indicator in the transaction maintain attributes) BW only updates one attribute value. The second value overwrites the first one.
    2. When using currency as data type for the attribute value we get an error in BW when we start the process of updating the marketing attributes.
    Have any of you faced the same issue???
    Regards Camilla

  • Error Loading Hierarchy Error when updating Idocs in Source System

    Hello  Friends,
         I am loading  hierarchy data  using Info pac into  0FUNDS_CTR . I have selected  a hierarchy under hierarchy selections tab  in the Info pac .
    All Partner profiles in WE20 seems OK .   But When I loaded data , throwing errrr message  as below
    Error when updating Idocs in Source System
    Diagnosis
    Errors have been reported in Source System during IDoc update:
    System Response
    Some IDocs have error status.
    Procedure
    Check the IDocs in Source System . You do this using the extraction monitor.
    Error handling:
    How you resolve the errors depends on the error message you get.
    When I checked in TC WE05 says that  IDoc: 0000000000355113 Status: Error during syntax check of IDoc (outbound) with status 26 .
    Please advice .
    Many thanks

    Hi  Krishna4bi,
    Actually we will monitor idoc status in BD87 in SAP BI As well ECC , while extracting the data from source sytem  if any idoc struck we will manually process in BD87 , But you are telling that while loading the datasource the error occurred , so please check once in ECC side . Otherwise see how many packets are still process, make it red that infopackage and do manually update.
    Hope it helps,

  • Error message when updating Sales Orders

    Hi Experts
    Following an issue over the weekend when I was forced to perform a  hard reset we are now experiencing error message when trying to update some sales orders.
    This entry already exists in the following tables " ADO1 (ODBC - 2035) [Message 131 - 183]
    it is not happening on all orders - i think only ones which were on the system prior to the reset.
    We also use webtools and the B1SyncService seems to be causing the SAP B1 system to become unusable - following each attempt to sync there is an error in the event log:
    Event Type:     Error
    Event Source:     B1SynchService

    For now I have had to stop the SyncService to prevent B1 from becoming unusable (users are unable to start any AR module), but even after I have stopped the syncservice I still have the error when updating sales orders.
    Regards
    Jon

    Dear Johnny,
    the error reported sounds like a DB Corruption. I would advise you to log a message to SAP Support including all the details in order to obtain the error message. It is also a good idea and it will speed up the process if you include some print screens showing exactly the error message.
    Hope my reply helps you to solve the issue.

  • Approval process when updating a Sales Order

    I have created a UDF that specifies whether a Sales Order has been "Picked" and would like to ensure that a user cannot modify the Order after this change of status without an Approval. I have my SQL code and it works properly but only when the Sales Order is created and does not get triggered when it gets modified.
    Thanks, Richard.

    This is far more complex to implement and can hamper the performance.
    FYI.  The user updating the Sales Order can be only found in the ADOC (History table)
    SELECT TOP 1 T0.DocNum AS 'Document Number', T0.UserSign AS 'User Signature', T0.UpdateDate AS 'Update Date' FROM  ADOC T0  WHERE T0.ObjType = N'17'   AND  T0.DocEntry = @list_of_cols_val_tab_del AND T0.UserSign != 1 ORDER BY T0.UpdateDate DESC
    Apart from the aboce, you have to also check in the ADOC table, the Update datetime with the Update datetime of the sales order and the updated field. You have to test this thoroughly before implemting

  • Problem with Configurator - Cannot Update Item Attributes for a Config item

    Hi!
    We configured an item to reproduce the following feature of Oracle Configurator in our business case (Oracle Configurator Modeling Guide - 115czmod.pdf): «For example, if you have raw materials that are ordered by lengths, do not create an item for each length. Instead, define a single item for each raw material with an attribute: Length. Then capture the needed length from the end user by a numeric input or from a List of Options, and associate that input with the attribute.»
    However, after we run the AutoCreate Configuration Items program the item was created in the Item Master but no Attribute was updated with the user defined values (within OConfigurator).
    We associated Item Attributes to Propoerties and these are associated to Feature Options.
    we wish to have the Item Descriptive Element Values (Item Catalog)
    transferred from the Configurator run time, after we configure any item.
    This is because we are working with item dimensions, such as length and width.
    We need to define these dimensions during the Configurator run time and have them transferred into the final configuration so that we can use them later on manufacturing. We wish to display these dimensions on a job.
    Support said that "The descriptive element value for the configuration item is copied from the model. This process will not look at the properties in the configurator.
    You may consider using the custom hook for catalog descriptions to get the selected attributes from CZ to the descriptive elements for the config item. Please see Custom CTO Packages under Setup page 2-63 in CTO Process Guide for more details."
    I'm trying to implement the suggested solution.
    I've customized user_catalog_desc procedure on CTO_CUSTOM_CATALOG_DESC package to populate the item catalog values.
    I'm failing to find the descriptive element values defined on configuratior for a specific inventory item id.
    I have managed to found a relation between "p_params.p_item_id" given in procedure user_catalog_desc and
    the configurated item_id in order to update the catalog data on the CTO_CUSTOM_CATALOG_DESC package.
    This is what I've done:
    procedure user_catalog_desc (
    p_params IN CTO_CUSTOM_CATALOG_DESC.inparams,
    p_catalog_dtls IN OUT NOCOPY CTO_CUSTOM_CATALOG_DESC.catalog_dtls_tbl_type,
    x_return_status OUT NOCOPY VARCHAR2)
    is
    begin
    declare
    counter number;
    i number;
    l_value varchar2(30);
    begin
    -- Put your logic here in such a way that you populate p_catalog_dtls
    -- parameter. p_catalog_dtls is a array of records. The attributes of
    -- this record are cat_element_name and cat_element_value.
    -- viz. record (
    -- cat_element_name varchar2(30),
    -- cat_element_value varchar2(30)
    -- Example : p_catalog_dtls(1).cat_element_value := 'XYZ';
    -- IMPORTANT : DO NOT ALTER THE VALUE OF cat_element_name . Doing so will
    -- result in incorrect or inconsistent behaviour.
    -- Make sure you set the x_return_status variable to one of the following:
    -- FND_API.G_RET_STS_SUCCESS to indicate success
    -- FND_API.FND_API.G_RET_STS_ERROR to indicate failure with expected status
    -- FND_API.FND_API.G_RET_STS_UNEXP_ERROR to indicate failure with unexpected status
    select count(*) into counter from MTL_DESCR_ELEMENT_VALUES
    where inventory_item_id = p_params.p_item_id;
    for i in 1 .. counter loop
    select
    distinct to_char(nvl(cz.input_num_val,cz.item_num_val)) into l_value
    from OE_ORDER_LINES_V oe
    , oe_order_headers_all oeh
    , CZ_CONFIG_CONTENTS_V cz
    where oe.header_id = oeh.header_id
    and oeh.order_number in (
    select distinct oeh.order_number
    from OE_ORDER_LINES_V oe
    , oe_order_headers_v oeh
    where oe.header_id = oeh.header_id
    and oe.inventory_item_id = p_params.p_item_id)
    and cz.ps_node_name = p_catalog_dtls(i).cat_element_name
    and oe.config_header_id = cz.config_hdr_id
    and oe.config_header_id in (select distinct cz.config_hdr_id from CZ_CONFIG_CONTENTS_V cz)
    and cz.ps_node_name in (select element_name from MTL_DESCR_ELEMENT_VALUES where inventory_item_id = p_params.p_item_
    id);
    p_catalog_dtls(i).cat_element_value := l_value;
    end loop;
    x_return_status := FND_API.G_RET_STS_SUCCESS;
    end user_catalog_desc;
    end;
    Although the customization seam correct the AutoCreate Configuration Items process
    terminates with warning, and the catalog info is not updated as expected.
    Can anyone help me on this?
    Many thanks in advance.
    Paulo Santos

    How did you solve this issue? During my testing I found there to be no link to the order lines when I was within this program. Therefore I am having issues getting the configuration information to populate the catalog. Is there a link and I just was doing it wrong? Thanks for any help!
    Thanks,
    Angela

    Hi Paul
    Looks like the authorisation is failing due to a bad registration for some reason.
    Would you be kind enough to clear out the registration to ensure we are dealing with a fresh start and no information is being used which may have become corrupt. You may do this by following this procedure;
    Remove existing reg details
    # usr/lib/cc-ccr/bin/eraseCCRRepository
    List /tmp/RegistrationProfile.properties file
    # cat /tmp/RegistrationProfile.properties
    Attempt re-registration
    # sconadm register -a -r /tmp/RegistrationProfile.properties
    Send us the full output of the commands above if you would please.

  • CLOB, BC4J, how to insert/access/update CLOB attribute?

    Hello everybody,
    I'm using Jdev 3.1 on a 8.1.6 db and I am having a hard time trying to change my good ol' Varchar(4000) into CLOBs (the main reason me doing this is that I need to store data which can occasionnaly go over the 4K limit)
    I am actually trying to wrap CLOB access in String getAttribute() and
    void setAttribute(String newValue)
    methods which would use Strings as parameters, in order to get the same behaviour as Varchar and Long data types.
    Various problems arise:
    ** I can't create a new row through a view object! if I do the following:
    ViewObject myView = myAppModule.findViewObject("myViewName");
    Row myRow = myView.createRow();
    ClobDomain myClob = new ClobDomain();
    myClob.setBytes("hello world".getBytes());
    myRow.setAttribute("clobAttribute",myclob);
    myView.insertRow(myRow);
    myAppmodule.getDbTransaction().commit();
    Then the commit fails with JBO-26041 invalid column type...
    any hints on why this fails?
    ** Each time the row containing the CLOB column gets updated , I get a JBO-25014: another user has changed the row... exception.
    This occurs even if the updated columns do not include the CLOB. However, if i try repeatedly (as someone in this forum suggested) the call to setAttribute eventually succeeds (usually it works on the 3rd attempts).
    Any suggestion why this happens? any chance jdev 3.2 improves this?
    ** I have also tried to create a custom domain "StringClobDomain", with an attribute value of type String, and a Database column value of type CLOB.
    This nearly works!
    It allows insertion of data, and update (there are still JBO-25014 when updating, but it works on the 2nd attempt now).
    However, when trying to get the value stord in the db through the domain object, all I can get is stuff like "oracle.sql.CLOB@4b0c".
    It seems to me that internally, when copying the CLOB data to the domain object, a CLOB.toString() is called instead of a CLOB.getBytes() or the like.
    Am I right? is there a known workaround ?
    Thanks for any help, Rimi

    Hello,
    Thanks for your answers, I took some time to reply because for a while I tried to achieve the same results with LONGs (Unfortunaltely it didn't work: it seems that using large strings with LONGs is not as straightforward as I expected).
    Now I'm back with CLOBs, and finally, with your help It seems to work ok, altough there are still a few points which need some work done...
    <BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by Shailesh (JDeveloper Team):
    Well ok, but in the example I gave, the attribute actually refered to a CLOB column...Please verify the columns that are being posted in the update statement...
    <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
    It seems that this was the problem: I removed the attributes in the Entity/View wizards, then re-added them, and it worked afterwards, I guess I messed up with the wizard...
    <BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><HR>
    I do not have any control on how the Domain object is populated, so it feels like I'm a bit stuck no?My guess was that you've extended ClobDomain to create your own Domain class.
    Instead it seems you've used the UI to create a domain containing String. That does not work for non-scalar (large objects) like LOBs.
    <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
    Ok, I'll keep that in mind.
    But if it doesn't work this way, shouldn't the IDE forbid this combination?
    <BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><HR>
    You may extend the ClobDomain class to get the data-conversion handled by the base domain and then use getBLOB() to get the sql-BLOB object and work with it.
    <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
    Ok, I've tried this, but I still have some problems.
    I have created a class evenium.jbo.domain.ClobStringDomain which simply extends the oracle.jbo.domain.ClobDomain:
    package evenium.jbo.domain;
    public class ClobStringDomain extends oracle.jbo.domain.ClobDomain {}
    If I declare the Value attribute as based on ClobDomain in the entity wizard, everything works fine, I can even use an object of type evenium.jbo.domain.ClobStringDomain to set the attribute's value.
    However, if I declare the attribute as based on my custom ClobStringDomain, then, upon insertion (actually, it's when I commit), I get a null pointer exception...
    any Idea why this happens?
    TIA, Remi

  • Af:inputListOfValues: updating all attributes from 'List return values'

    Hi all,
    In my ViewObject, I have one LOV enabled Transient attribute (in order to display content meaningfull for the end user)
    In the List return values, I have one extra return value, which updates the real foreign key attribute
    When user launches LOV popup and chooses one of the vaules, both of my attributes from the List return values are updates properly
    However, when the user entered value directly (so, does not launch LOV popup), then the real foreign key attribute has not been set
    What to do in order to set foreign key attribute in both cases ?
    Maybe with one valueChangeListener and autoSubmit enabled ?
    Any idea ?
    P.S. Off topic : Seems thas password finder for my OTN account does not work, is there any way to "unite" my posts from my old account with this new one ?
    Edited by: user11208293 on May 28, 2009 8:49 AM

    Ok. It seems that no solution for this problem, so end user cannot directly enter the value in the af:inputListOfValues (into transient View attrbibute), since there no way to update the real foreign key value. The only option is to enable LOV not for transient, meaningfull attribute, but for f.k. attribute (which does not mean nothing for end user)
    What you doing in this situation ?
    Should I discard af:inputListOfValues ?
    P.S. just to note : LOV Autocompletion, as described in the Steve Muench atricle :
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/oramag/oracle/09-jan/o19frame.html
    works only if user presses Tab button (after entering value in the LOV filed).
    It does not work if user directly enter into LOV field, and then press some command button by the mouse
